I absolutely love Box Bistro for my midweek lunches. You can preorder meals to be picked up on either Sunday or Thursday or you can stop in at anytime and purchase meals available in the refrigerators. I go almost every Monday morning without preordering and the fridges are stocked with so many options. I really like that the meals rotate so that there are new options every week, but there are also staples that are almost always available. My absolute favorite is the Buffalo chicken. Prices for each meal varies but they are about $10 each. read more

My wife and I stopped in one morning and enjoyed a cooked to order a bacon and egg sandwich on a roll that was quite good.

As I noted elsewhere, I seldom review a restaurant based on breakfast alone; because unless you're very innovative (and many places are) bacon and eggs are often too basic a meal to bring distinction. With that being said, I stopped in on the Box Bistro for lunch, having been there once before (keep reading). I was a bit surprised to find that lunch was prepared take out, that had to be reheated elsewhere; but, the offerings were unique and, quite frankly, each of them looked delicious. That being said I paid the reasonable price of $10.60 (.60 tax! Thank you State of Connecticut!) for the Greek Chicken, with butternut squash, green beans, and red onions. The meal was seasoned with mild herbs and spices, with a touch of olive oil. I knew how this review would go with my first bite of chicken. The immediate thought that came to mind was "fresh", with "tasty" and "flavorful" quickly following. In spite of having been reheated, I also found the chicken to be moist and tender. But, moving on, I took a bite out of the green beans. The immediate crunch and solid taste sealed the deal here; but again, "fresh" and "flavorful" were the lead off sensations. Finally, I sampled the butternut squash. If this was the entire meal itself, I would still have been satisfied with my purchase. Yes, it was that good. Perhaps more importantly, as advertised, Box Bistro caters to a healthy life style; whereas, the meal described above was not only filling, but only 430 calories, to boot. If I had the option of heating this meal on sight, I would have easily rated Box Bistro five stars (adding a micro wave or two in front of the counter would certainly be a novelty, so far as restaurants go. They already have seating, so, why encourage customers to go elsewhere to eat?). Now, as alluded to earlier, I had stopped in for breakfast, earlier in the week. Unlike lunch, breakfast is prepared upon ordering, while you wait. My first choice was to ask for a wrap; however, it was pointed out that Box Bistro uses fresh bread, not prepared rolls, for their breakfast sandwiches. This was enough to convince me go for a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich, in place of a wrap. True to form, the bread was indeed fresh, with a baked on the premises taste. I was quite impressed with this. The sausage seemed to be a cross between a mild, traditional, breakfast sausage and a spicy dinner sausage, giving it a unique flavor, as far as breakfast sausages are concerned. The choice of cheese for me was cheddar (the other option was American), which although plentiful and well melted, was on the dull side, seemingly over powered by the other flavors. The egg itself was well fried, with a solid yolk, which, to me, detracted from the over all experience. The price was under ten dollars, and considering the portion and overall quality, well worth it. read more

I've been super pleased with everything I've picked up here: both orders placed ahead of time for Monday pickup, as well as dropping in for what's in the fridge. The food is quite tasty, colorful, and really heats up nicely - it's easy for prepared meals to get soggy or lose texture / color / taste and that's not the case here. Portions are generous, there is a nice mix of choices each week, and the entrees are nicely complemented with healthy vegetables. Also, it's really nice to see a business clicking in terms of technology - website, social media, etc. - they communicate well, the online ordering works great. I had a wonderful breakfast this morning thanks to Box Bistro. I am now full and happy! This morning I had no breakfast food in my house and no time to go to the grocery store. As a resident of Berlin, I decided to give Box Bistro a try knowing they make fresh breakfast sandwiches and serve Giv Coffee. I make an effort to support local businesses in my town. Luckily, this place did not disappoint. I had an egg and cheese on a huge hard roll; fresh, flavorful, simple, and light! After having a Box Bistro breakfast sandwich, never would I eat a DD egg sandwich again! Another perk is the Giv Coffee served. Again, I have only heard wonderful things about the Canton, CT based roasters on Yelp. There was a cases of homemade scones to devour. I couldn't resist a pumpkin chocolate chip one. The people there were very welcoming and cordial. The décor is very clean and updated. I hope to be back again soon to try their paleo boxes! read more

I've driven by box bistro so many times since I live in Berlin. Don't let the outside deceive you - it's awesome! All of the premade meals are paleo, gluten free, whole 30 or some combo of those. Healthy options that are perfect for a quick lunch or meal planning! I just went for the first time and was surprised to find they serve Giv Coffee and have some morning pastries in the fridge. Stopped in for the first time and everything was world class. Had the bullet coffee, like a real blended bullet coffee, and sausage egg and cheese. The coffee was superb (made me wonder why I never tried to make a fresh bullet coffee at home, then I figured it wouldn't be as good so I decided I would just keep coming to Box Bistro instead) and the sandwich was one of the best I've had (roll appeared fresh baked and sausage seemed made in-house). Sadly Box Bistro isn't very close to where I live but whenever I head there way again I will absolutely be stoping by!! Not only was the service excellent and the staff friendly the food was INCREDIBLE and conducive to my lifestyle. It is hard to find a place to quickly grab a meal that isn't loaded with fat, chemicals, preservatives etc. As a TLS lifestyle follower it's always a struggle to find grab and go food. Their shakes are delicious. I also love their prepared meals. My favorite is the "Thanksgiving dinner" one and any one that uses spaghetti squash. I wish they would offer a larger breakfast menu. I'd go every day if they did since I work close by. read more
