Overcharging and upselling like it's going out of style. $95 and the hygienist was with me for less than 15 minutes. I have no math wizardry, but that's $380 per hour for a hygienist. My experience with the dentist was wonderful my experience with Smile Generation Financing is horrifying. It wasn't until I got home then I realized that they charged 32 to 33% interest that doesn't help me at all. Now I have to find money somewhere to pay them off quicker than I expected so that I don't pay $3,300 on a $2,625 bill. I'm very upset. I thought I was being signed up with Care Credit and couldn't see well enough because I have cataracts that need surgery this week. No bueno on the financing. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!! I went in for a routine cleaning. Was told i needed a deep cleaning and laser treatment. Never heard of laser but apparently i needed it. I was told that they would not do the deep cleaning without laser treatment because it was a liability. So i did it and the bill came out to 600$ even with my dental insurance. I have never had to pay out of pocket this much anywhere ever. Fast forward a year later i go to another office and they tell me they did a poor job with the deep cleaning they missed an entire section of my mouth! - [ ] This place is a nightmare, scam and a rip-off. I had a periodontist who took over four thousand for bone grafting, and be told a year later. " It didn't work". Then I went back, I was ready to repair my smile. First they talk you into everything they think you need. Eva said I was getting a credit for the grafting not being successful and it will be on split in two. One on my upper mouth and the other on my lower mouth work. I handed her $2300+ in cash first. Then after some back and forth and her " fix the numbers in the computer to match the amount" because she said I would need a bottom for the two missing teeth to hold up the top denture. I then give my card to cover the balance of $657( I took out the $300+ because I didn't have enough cash to cover the amount) that would take care of my lower mouth work. This was including dentures and crown. I got temporary crown put on in september I never got a call back to say permanent crown came in. Something prompted me to call my insurance to asked what and if I can upgrade my plan to better cover me. After speaking to them I realized that Modern Dentistry was using doctors who was out of network on my visits after Dr Prez. They fail to disclose that info. It was not until I brought it up during my December visit when I went back for my permanent crown I was told " oh yeah the Dr is not in network" by Juan the new office manager. I asked him who problem is that not mine, and why wasn't I told that before he started the work? When asked when will the dentures be put on. I was told "you only paid $657 for a crown and that was a goo and you pd deal". There is no record of $2000 cash. After weeks of the run around, I repeatedly ask him to run the footage because I know the cameras had to pick up the exchange. At first he said he would, then that turned into "maybe we will not see because of the angle". I asked for his boss and was told he is the manager of the office. It was not until I threatened to contact the disability rights group and his Human Resource manager that he gave me the name Valarie and said she will be in contact with me. Spoke to Mrs Valarie with her kids in the background later that day. She assured me that she or Juan will be in contact with me soon after they investigate. It's three months later she has not. The last time I stop by I was told Juan no longer worked here and Valarie is never around...All I want is what I paid for. And to make matters worse you are saying I didn't give you my money an m d I know I did. Rewind and review your tapes man. Modern dentistry practices should be looked into. Do not leave without a receipt, no matter how late it is or how friendly they seem. read more

After reading the reviews i was very apprehensive to go here. I called and voiced my concerns and was informed that they had mostly new staff and of course the reviews are over a year old. I was pleasantly surprised with how kind the Dentist was and was very accommodating to my budget. I recommend going in for their new patient special. Don't ever go to this place!! They don't know what they are doing at all. I had them fix a chipped tooth and it broke again 4 times. Then they said I needed two new veneers, bc my tooth was going to keep chipping. So I paid a fortune for two new veneers. The veneers have come out 3 times in three years!!! I was told by the two dentist that I saw to reconnect the veneers, told me that my original tooth wasn't shaved down enough in the first place. But instead of fixing there mistake they just kept cementing the uneven veneers back! Yes it's my two front teeth and they have been uneven since I got them done. Now this is the third time my veneers have fallen out and they want to make me pay to have it done correctly now! They also wanted me to pay to cement it back! They finally gave in after I was irate and didn't charge me to cement it. But, they still want me to pay to shave my tooth down further and make a new veneer! No way would I trust anyone that works in this office. Beware they are very inexperienced! I thought the girl who shaved my tooth down in the first place was very young, but I gave that place a chance bc they were new. Well what a mistake! Worst experience of my life! I came in as a new client on the $59 cleaning special and almost 2 hours later I still never got the cleaning! They wanted $995 because they poked and prodded to find a tooth with early stages of periodontal disease and then refused to give me the basic cleaning. I went about two weeks ago and from the moment i walked in, the costumer service was amazing, from the people in the front desk, to the doctor. I was seen by doctor Susel Perez and she was incredible and so were her helpers. Something i really liked was that doctor perez spoke spanish, since its my first language she tried to explain and answer all of my questions. You could tell that the clinic had great technology too. This is the worst place and should have an award for it. I just moved to the area and needed a new dentist. They advertise $59 for cleaning but will charge you arm and leg for it and bill your insurance for over a thousand dollars worth for 20 minutes of cleaning. It's a JOKE. When their office first opened they came to my place of employment and offered a discount cleaning and xrays for $59 for plaza employees in the area. I called and booked the cleaning because it's only $60; who wouldn't for that price. Showed up for the appointment and of course that $59 special no longer was $59. They claimed I needed a laser treatment and special mouth wash, etc. I went along with their protocol and had those things done. Next thing I know they now want to replace some of my old fillings even though I had no issues, no pain, nothing. Once again, being naive I went along with it and came back in for the replacement fillings. Since having Dr. Perez replace my fillings I've had nothing but issues with one of the teeth she did work on. Went back to have it addressed and she had me try medication, she said if they didn't work she would replace my filling at my next cleaning. I show up for my next cleaning and of course she isn't there so a different doctor does my cleaning. When checking out I book yet another appointment to see Dr. Perez so she can re do the filling again. I show up and she tells me she wants me to see one of her specialist in her office before she will redo my filling. It's now been 8 months since the original procedure and I'm still having tooth pain from her messing something up. Honesty, by now you should be able to see why I say -stay far away. I just came down from another looked for a denist that took my insurance and boy was this One the WORSE. When I went in for my appointment on Nov 8th the dentist ask me was anything hurting I told her NO. I was going for a cleaning because before I left my previous state I had all my dental work done. Then this dentist claim from the xrays I needed a root canal and cap on 2 different teeth mind u again wasn't nothing bothering me. So of course they had the financial lady tell me what my insurance cover which they basically said 2300 out of pocket for the service. Ok they preped my teeth supposedly for an oral surgeon to do the root canal so I had to come back on the 30th which 2 days prior I get a call saying my appointment canceled no other options but I was told the front desk staff was gonna talk to the dentist and call me back bout 1. NEVER got the call anyways I called and they gave me the run around. So of course I'm pissed so they said come in and they will just place the crown without the root canal. I got there and the dentist Miriannys Fiffe Gonzalez said she will do the root canal Remind u she told me on the 8th that she dont do them now all of a sudden she know how to. She proceeded with the work. Xrays were taken before the start then she start drilling then xrays was taken again then she proceeded then comes and say Oh your teeth is fractured I ask how she gonna say she dont know maybe it happen when I had the temporary cap in or maybe they didn't see it on the xrays. Dr. Perez took a complete medical history and stated clearly that doing the cleaning was contingent on whether the X-rays showed a healthy enough situation to safely continue. She and all staff were highly skilled, and totally professional. Her suggested future care was documented, I was given a quote and was at no time pressured into an immediate decision. I seldom write reviews because like most people I feel that I do not have enough time to do so. With that said, when I write a review it is because a business has done something exceptionally well or failed miserably, which are both rare. I haven't been to the dentist in a little over two years. In addition to being due for a cleaning, I had begun having issues with crowns and fillings that were more than 20 years old beginning to crack, fall out etc. I was definitely due for a major overhaul this time compared to the tune-ups that I've been getting over the last two decades. I asked around to friends and family if they recommended a dentist in the area. To my surprise, no one had anyone that they felt strong enough to recommend. So from there I did my own Google search and based my decision on reviews. When I called Boynton Beach Modern Dentistry the first person I spoke with was Aaliyah. All I can say is that every-single-business-needs-an-Aaliyah! That first impression is priceless. She was so kind, so personable, so helpful and so patient with all of my health related and financial questions and concerns. She worked me into the schedule immediately at a time that fit into my schedule. Next, when I arrived for my first appointment I had the opportunity to meet and continue to work with Aaliyah and Tyena at the front desk. My good impression continued. I then proceeded to interact with the clinical staff, namely Naymi and Emily, who were as comforting and accommodating as the day is long. Remember, I had a lot of dental work ahead of me. They were always cheerful and nurturing over a total of four longgg visits. And the icing on the cake for me was Dr Gonzalez. Her bedside manner was impeccable! She was extremely patient and accommodating to ensure that I was continually comfortable and satisfied. She communicated beautifully by explaining what it was that she was doing, what she was discovering along the way (I.e. visually or xrays), and what she intended to do about it. Above all, what impressed me the most about Dr Gonzalez was how meticulous she is. If anything seemed slightly off to her, even if it was something I would not have noticed, she persisted until all of the work was done 100% correct. For as many hours that I spent in her chair, I know that her quality of work is going to keep me out of that chair for decades to come because of her pride and attention to detail. I also had the pleasure of meeting other staff members such as Eva, along with another young lady who was the clinical supervisor/trainer and other dental assistants for whom I don't recall their names. EVERYONE was polite, cheerful and completely professional. Last but not least, their state of the art technology blew my mind. I do not have dental insurance, so I had to pay a pretty penny out of pocket. Because the technology was so precise I left feeling confident in my investment that nothing was overlooked and that my mouth has been restored to optimal health and will remain that way for decades to come. Kudos to management for hiring such good quality and talented people. Hands-down, I recommend, and I have already begun recommending this dental office to all my friends and family. I was referred to Dr. Perez by my sister Nehemie from church, who happened to be a staff member at Boynton Beach Modern Dentistry. It was a Sunday morning and I was in pain. I asked her if she can find an appointment by tomorrow for me. She promised to talk to the doctor for me. Effectively, at 8:00 O'clock on the next day, the office called me and the doctor modified her schedule to see me late on the afternoon. It was a deliverance and a great experience for me. Dr. Perez and all the others made me feel very comfortable. I'm so grateful for the treatment that I received.
