And of course we hit their awesome pickle bar! Why doesn't every deli in the universe have a pickle bar?! The sandwiches are piled high with meat and so delicious. Several complaints about mine, however: the menu said it comes with mayo and provolone. It came out with no spread at all so I was brought mayo packets to apply myself, which is way less than ideal with a huge already assembled sandwich. And the brand new server (on her second day there) came back after we ordered and asked if I wanted cheese. I mentioned I thought it listed a cheese on the menu, which she confirmed. But then I ended up getting charged extra for the cheese that my sandwich was supposed to come with. Kind of lame. And while my friend was asked if she wanted hers toasted, I was not. I didn't think twice about it until mine came out toasted, which I neither asked for or wanted. Lastly, the sandwich was also supposed to come with "fresh cranberry spread" and if there was any on my sandwich, it wasn't detectable. But I decided not to even mention it because I didn't want to deconstruct my sandwich a second time. Regardless of these hiccups, I would certainly consider returning.

You'll need two slices of seeded or marble rye bread, about six ounces of thinly sliced corned beef or pastrami, two slices of sharp Swiss cheese, roughly a quarter cup of well-drained sauerkraut, and two tablespoons of Russian or Thousand Island dressing. A little butter for toasting the bread and optional spicy brown mustard round it out. That said, what I actually received was the absolute worst Reuben I've ever had in my entire life. They used ham instead of corned beef or pastrami, an insult to the name. The Swiss was bland and low-quality, not sharp at all. There was no mustard, barely any Thousand Island, and I couldn't even detect any sauerkraut. The bread wasn't toasted, and they still charged me $12.50 with tax. If this is what passes for a Reuben at a supposed German delicatessen, save your money and go somewhere that actually knows what they're doing.

I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for lunch or dinner. They have a wide selection of sandwiches, pizzas, and salads accessible everyone, including vegetarians/vegans. It's open fairly late for restaurants in the area, and the people who work there are wonderful. For over a year I've gotten to know them, and they are hard-working, warm-hearted people who care about their clientele. They will bend over backwards to make sure you get the order you ask for, and that you leave satisfied. In addition, service is lightning fast. If you are a meat-a-tarian and looking for something to close out your night, or want to celebrate a Friday, I highly suggest either the brisket sandwich combo special they have on Fridays, or a Meaty Boy pizza (if you're in the know, you can ask for the G.O.A.T. pizza and they know what you're asking for). There's a reason why it's nicknamed as the "greatest of all time". If you're interested in a thin crust pizza, I suggest you go elsewhere, because this pizza is seriously for meat and cheese lovers only. If you're a vegetarian or vegan, I would suggest any of the following combos: the vegan grilled cheese and a tomato & cucumber salad; ask for the vegan cousin without cheese (or vegan cheese if that's your thing) with some chips; the 3 Fun Guys pizza with vegan cheese; or the bizarro pizza with (or without) vegan cheese. The desserts are amazing too. They are homemade and come in a variety of options, from cookies, to cakes, to lighter puddings as well. I had found this restaurant after doing a search on this app, and then I realized that they were offering a 15% discount in the order. So I figured that I would walk over here for lunch today. At right around noon, there were already three groups of people seated and eating their lunch. I was leaning towards the chicken parmesan sandwich but I went ahead and ordered the meatball sub. It took roughly seven minutes t prepare and soon enough I was seated and enjoying something good for lunch. They do not have many drink options, and their sodas are limited to bottled drinks. They have no fountain soda here. Instead of getting soda I just got the Natalie's juice strawberry lemonade. This drink definitely beat a soda or water! With a very bad attitude she directed us to order at the kiosk and walked away to continue her phone call. The combo we wanted was not on the kiosk so I asked for help. The person who answered simply told me they "don't provide" napkins, forks, or plates. I pointed out that if that's their policy, it should be made clear when ordering. For as long as I can remember, basic utensils and napkins have been a pretty reasonable expectation with a delivery order--especially one that includes a salad. What bothered me most wasn't even the missing items. It was the complete lack of concern. There was no apology, no suggestion for how they could help, and no acknowledgment that a salad arriving spilled in the bag might be a problem. Two stars because the pizza itself really is very good. But good food doesn't excuse poor customer service. I'm in DC periodically and would happily order from Andy's again if they fix this, but until then, I'll go elsewhere.
