Decent independent Porsche service center for routine servicing. Cheaper than going to the dealer. Upfront pricing. Professionally run shop unlike some other indies I tried that quote low prices and then up charged or have weird owners you have to deal with. Just don't expect this shop to wash your car when they are done even after spending thousands of dollars. Lost one star in that they were not thorough. They removed an air filter and left the uninstalled new one on my car floor with the panel still removed when I picked up my car. They rectified the problem, but it really should not have happened since they presented me a filled in checklist of the various items done. I do wonder what else was missed. I'll see how my car does and I'll probably give them a second chance in the future. read more

I have been a customer of BR Racing with multiple vehicles. On my late model BMW M550i I decided to go back to BR Racing due to lack of attention from the local dealer. My experience has simply been awesome. The quote was detailed and very accurate, the work was great, as was the inspection of the vehicle. Bought a 2006 MINI Cooper S for my kid. Mechanically excellent except for hard shifts and slipping from the auto transmission that is quite common for this vehicle package. They were able to install a new valve body and solenoids, and new fluid. The hard shifts and slipping usually happened when the car warmed up. The car now shifts like it's brand new, cold or hot. I wish I could give no stars to this auto shop. I took my car in over 3 weeks ago after hearing about how good they were. The owner, Bruce, came out, looked at my car, and said he would send me a quote by the end of the day. But no quote ever came. After waiting over a week with no contact, I went back to the store and spoke to the manager again. He apologized and promised he'd get me a quote by the end of the day. Black Friday has come and gone, along with an amazing sale in the exhaust I wanted And I STILL have not received my quote from the 3 times I was promised one. It's now been over 3 weeks of being strung along and I refuse to believe they are THIS disorganized and incompetent. It is clear they either never intended to follow up in hopes that I'd forget and miss the sale, or they're so poorly managed that they lost track of my quote request multiple times. Either way, it speaks volumes as to how little they value customer service. I definitely DO NOT recommend bringing your vehicle here if you hope for any kind of follow up or punctuality. I purchased a 2020 Audi R8 earlier this year and am not a big fan of the stock rims. I did a bunch of online research and settled on a set of HRE P201 rims. BR Racing is one of the biggest HRE dealers in the Bay Area, and their location is extremely convenient for me, so I chose to work with them to order & install the new rims. I worked primarily with Bruce. His enthusiasm for cars in general is utterly contagious. He was enormously helpful throughout the order process and did not pressure me into any particular decision; he was more than willing to offer his opinion and guidance but prioritized my satisfaction and preferences above all else. The order process, shipping, and installation went flawlessly and I couldn't possibly be happier with the end result. Bruce even allowed me to store my stock rims in his shop for a while as I worked out a way to get them back to my home in Santa Cruz. I'll end up swapping out the stock exhaust for an aftermarket system in the R8 sometime in the near future. When I do, I won't even consider going elsewhere because Bruce and his team do such a good job. I'm tired of dealing with the Dealerships so, I was looking for a quality shop to take care of my new BMW G80. I spoke with Trevor, who's is in-charge of maintenance. Trevor is very attentive and knowledgeable so, maintenance seemed to be covered, but I also needed some performance parts installed. Bruce is in-charge of performance and we discussed the scope of what needed to be done. We exchanged information by email and I never heard back from him for a week so, I called and spoke to trusty Trevor. He said Bruce was out, but gets email by phone. BRracing were lifesavers - well, the life of my Porsche anyway. When my 2013 911 PDK Carrera started acting funny and slipping gears, it was quite a challenge to figure out what was going on. The local Porsche dealer wanted to charge me thousands of dollars just to diagnose the problem before trying to sell me a new transmission. Thank god for my friends at Mellow Motors in Larkspur, CA who diligently inspected and researched what was going on and found that BRracing had published a detailed blog post documenting what was going on and how to fix it. I took my 911 to BRracing and now it runs like new for less than half of what the Porsche dealer had quoted me. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

Had a pretty terrible experience here. I worked with Bruce, who had a pompous superior attitude. They worked on my transmission. I asked multiple times to look into metal shavings which had been reported in my differential fluid and they never even checked. By the time I went to pick up the car, he let me do a test drive in the parking lot, like that was supposed to tell me anything. I could already tell it was making an unusual noise, but he was like "see, everything's fine!" I got home I still knew the car wasn't right. On top of the noise, I was getting a burning smell. I emailed Bruce about both issues and he wasn't particularly helpful, so I brought it in to my dealer. They took it for a test drive and could tell right away that there was a power steering issue responsible for the noise. How could Bruce have possibly missed that?!? They fixed it up and the noise was gone. Finally I thought the car was good to go so I took it for some performance driving. I was blowing a lot of smoke from the rear of my car at high speeds and discovered I was dripping oil. Emailed Bruce - again not helpful. I took it in to my dealer and they ran extensive diagnostics and discovered that the transmission fluid had been overfilled, which could only have happened at Bruce's shop. No one else had touched the transmission since they had worked on it. I've emailed Bruce multiple times to ask nicely to please pay for the hefty diagnostic bill, but I have received no response. Unfortunately, I will now have to go to small claims court to get them to pay for what it cost me to correct their faulty work. Stay away from these guys. read more

I wanted to take the time to recognize Bruce and Trevor at BR Racing. I own a 1996 BMW 328i. This car is known for its EVAP issues, and the car is approaching its 30th birthday. I first took this car to my local Tire repair shop (Skips) to see if they can fix the Check engine light. They informed me about a valve that needed to be replaced. They replaced it and it didn't fix the problem. The car was also known to spin out during turns and the traction on the car was an issue as well. First, we thought the tires were old and hard causing it to hydroplane. The new tires did help but it did not resolve the issue. I then took it to an autobody shop in San Jose. They replaced the value and still did not resolve the issue. I brought it back to the same individual and they replaced it under warranty, but it still did not resolve the issue. I did my research and found BR Racing. Bruce and Trevor were amazing. Bruce knows the 3 series from the top down, inside and out. They ran the tests and found there were multiple sensor/value failures. They replaced all of them and even dealt with an issue of BMW having multiple out of box failure valves. Bruce called BMW and they found a valve that passed and resolved the issue. They have since replaced the front and back struts on my BMW. They also found the reason my car was spinning out during turns. The bushings were worn out. A simple glance at the right spot clearly showed the reason for the spin outs. Without them having to take the car apart or charging me extra time to diagnose the issue, their expertise on this car was the reason why we were able to get a resolution. Trevor knows me by name. Bruce knows me by name. They are both driven to provide excellent customer care and have a passion for cars. Trevor answers my questions and provides feedback to me on a timely basis. Now my 1996 BMW 328I has no check engine light, no issues with traction and fishtailing, and the car handles like a dream. Don't get me wrong, im driving a car that is almost twice my sons age and it will continue to have problems. I know that if I have any issues with this car, Bruce will give me the best solution. I cannot tell you how much it means to me to have someone tell me what wrong with my car and give me an honest opinion on the next steps. I know sooner or later, I have to retire this car, but I love the fact that it is driving better now than it ever has in the last 10 years. Thank you Bruce and Trevor! read more

After seeing all the 5 star reviews, I came to BR Racing for upgrades on my A4. Robb knew what he was talking about when I asked about upgrades. He gave me several recommendations which I went with. We decided to upgrade front and back brakes, exhaust, grilles, wheels, and coilovers. A week after I dropped off the car Robb called to inform me that the wheels we selected did not fit my car. At first I was disappointing because these were recommended by him, but he insisted it was the vendor's misinformation so I thought nothing of it and we chose new wheels. About a week later he called for me to pick up the car and to inform me all work was completed. When I arrived at the shop I noticed the rear brakes were still the stock ones. I asked Robb but he acted as if he had forgetten I paid for front and rear brakes. He promised not to worry, that he would order the brakes and have them installed. A week later (3rd week) Robb called again. I was eager to get my car back and take it for a ride with new upgrades. When I arrived I noticed the fog lights grilles had to been replaced like we had agreed. Robb did not mention anything until I asked. He explained that the grilles did not fit as expected and that he would not be able to install them, but I could keep the grilles since I had already paid for them. What the? By then I was very disappointing with their service. All I wanted my car back. Robb gave me the keys and I paid him the the remaining balance. 15 minutes after driving off my check engine light came on. I called Robb but he said they were getting ready to close and asked if I could come back the next day. The next morning I took the car back to them. It took them a few days and several phone calls, which they never answered, to finally fix my car. Once I got home I noticed the interior of the car had grease marks and stains (see pics). I also noticed my headlights were pointing down and not towards the road. I called the shop to let them know I was extremely dissatisfied with their service. Robb apologized and asked me to bring the car back to them. Again? Not happening, they kept my car for a month due to all the issues we had. There was no way I would go back. I adjusted the lights myself and took the car to get detailed. I don't recommend this shop. You can pay them to answer questions and give you recommendations but don't trust them with your car. The cars on the lot are a front. The service here is terrible. read more

Wow! These guys really know their stuff! I have been following them on Instagram for awhile to check out the race cars and have been impressed by all the over the top cars they work on. I decided to try them out with my BMW. What a great experience. Normally I dread the ordeal of going in to the repair shop but this experience was completely different. The guys in the front office were very professional and a wealth of knowledge. My car was fixed quick and the price more than reasonable. The second time I went in I brought my Mini Cooper. I talked to the tech for awhile and I was blown away by how detail oriented he was. The tech Rico told me all about the steps needed to time my engine and replace the broken parts. Audi A3 Quattro Ignition Cylinder Failure The ignition cylinder on my Audi went bad and I couldn't drive the car. After calling multiple shops and Audi dealerships, who were backed up by 4 weeks, I was told to go to BRRacing. I had my Audi towed there and BRRacing started looking at my car within 24 hours. It has come to my attention that many people have a very skewed view of BR Racing. I typically don't take things personally with businesses or restaurants because I know sometimes people drop the ball. However, this is pretty personal as I did have a personal experience with BR Racing and have several other close to personal experiences where either I, or someone I know, had to help rectify a problem that BR Racing has created. First of all, I find that the business practice of giving someone 10% off of labor for a positive review on a forum and/or a review site to be questionable in nature because this means that there's a monetarily incentive in these reviews. This hardly makes it an unbias review on the part of the reviewer. Everyone wants to save money when it comes to cars, after all. What you don't see is many tons of bad experiences from people who have previously reviewed them with five stars only to realize later on that they are one star worthy but are too shameful to speak of the update as they feel like they were jipped of their time, money and a good word. My personal experience(s) include having BR Racing do a Powerflex RTAB (rear trailing arm bushing) install and alignment as well as doing a fender rolling and some minor coilover adjustments. As for the RTAB, yes they went in and so far no issues although I may break down one day on the freeway and not even know why like my friend did after they installed his coilovers and charged him doubly for some camber plates he did not need. However, the alignment was off, and when I took the car back for a revision, they "measured" it and said it was fine. What wasn't fine was that there was hard evidence the alignment was not done correctly. My tires began wearing unevenly on the inside and one section actually went bald, but only on one side of one wheel. This does not sound like proper alignment to me considering I got BRAND NEW tires only 4 months prior with a proper alignment from BMW when I purchased the car under CPO. My second experience was getting my fenders rolled. I ended up getting charged for some work that later on, MANY other M3 owners told me was not done. Reason is that there's really only one way to roll a fender, and it's either rolled or not. Despite having paid for the work, mine are not "rolled" as indicated by physical evidence between differences of several other cars versus mine. This in itself is unacceptable because it is like paying for work that you didn't get done. After my experiences and hearing several of my close friends' experiences with them, I USED to recommend them, but not anymore. I would not hesitate to pay more for legitimate practices and good work and I would never go back. -- I forgot to mention, one guy who took off my wheels at BR Racing dropped a lug nut onto my polished iForged Daytona wheels and caused a huge scratch, no word or compensation from BR Racing. read more

Bruce and Robb are very knowledgeable about cars. They are not the cheapest as they claim or as some say but they know the stuff. My only problem with them is that they sometimes are too busy so they don't answer email as quickly or even as often as I'd like. One thing though is that they are honest in that they'll tell you that they need to prepare for races so they can't work on customer cars, which I totally respect. You can do a lot worse than coming to BR. read more

Update 2/7: Bruce has responded to my review, apologized for my service experience and refunded my alignment costs. I'm willing to chalk it up to a blip in service quality and give BR another a shot down the road as Bruce's expertise on Porsches and getting them ready for the track has been evident in all of our interactions. ===================================================== BR Racing's racing win history and Bruce's obvious knowledge about how to track prep Porsches is initially impressive, but after two very disappointing service visits I'll never use them again. On my first visit I had them install new tires and do a track inspection. When I picked up the car, after it had supposedly been fully inspected for track readiness including checking tire pressures, the tire pressure warning light was on as all of the tires were all 20 PSI overfilled. I brought it to Bruce's attention and he acknowledged that the tires were overfilled to get them to mount on the rims and they weren't set to the correct pressure thereafter- a pretty big mistake on a simple tire swap let alone when you are getting paid to confirm a car is ready for the demands of the track. Because I appreciated Bruce's knowledge on car setup and truly wanted an in-town shop to track prep my car, I gave BR another shot- this time to set a more track-ready alignment. Bruce's team was unable to adjust the front wheel camber within the vehicle's specified max negative camber range specified by Porsche, so I took the car to Steven's Creek Porsche to have them do a warranty repair to the get the adjustment range within spec. Steven's Creek had no trouble hitting the camber setting I desired and said nothing was wrong with the adjustment range. Since it wasn't a warranty issue I was responsible for the alignment costs. Thankfully Stevens Creek waived the charges, because when I told Bruce that they basically failed to deliver them alignment I paid for (which was more expensive than what SC charges), he said "thanks for letting me know" and offered nothing else to compensate me for the time or money I wasted at his shop. I'm sure BR has some techs that know what they are doing, but clearly I was getting their B team. If that wasn't bad enough, Bruce clearly has no desire to fix things when his team wastes his clients' time and money. read more

Thank you Scott B and to BRR's team of technicians who were on top of what was needed for my '03 E39 M5. BR Racing consists of a wide range of auto expertise/repair. What I got along the way is that BRR was upfront about the scope of work and what was involved, basically "soup to nuts" service. Unfortunately, I had a circuitous route as for bringing the car in as I usually go to another shop, however, by that shop's own admission they immediately halted work as the latter could not do what was required which ultimately led me to BR Racing in Campbell. My suggestion is if you care about your vehicle, then this is the shop to take it to. BR Racing's premises itself is immaculate and clean, almost as if you're in a Formula 1 garage, but the feeling I walked away with, and the best thing they have going is that they treat, service, fix, and care for the car as if it is their own. I'm not one to complain, but this is the 3rd strike. After over 7 years of having a couple different Porsche Cayennes serviced with BRRacing, I only had a few incidents occur causing concern. Both of which both were remedied fairly quickly. The usual problem was with oil changes. Either incorrect amount of oil was added or an oil filter was not tightened down causing oil to leak out. In both these case the issue was caught quickly as I was exit the parking lot. With this recent incident (3rd strike) I had requested an oil change service as I was moving and would be driving 450 miles. For whatever reason I failed to check the oil change was done correctly. By the time I was halfway into my trip, I noticed the oil amount was showing 2 quarts, 1/4 full. Should be full!! I called BRRacing to let them know the oil service was not done correctly and I got no call back. I guess leaving town and no possibility of being a customer any more makes them feel like I'm not worth their time. Well, I added oil to top it off and continued my trip. Two months later, my car is leaking oil at a pretty good clip. I take my car in for service at a performance shop in SoCal and they tell me the last service done over tightened the oil filter and caused a crack. The crack apparently became worse over time. To top it off, I still have yet to receive a call from anyone at BRRacing to see if I made it to my destination. I will never use BRRacing again nor refer anyone to this service shop again. If some one tells you that changing the oil in a Porsche is tricky and mistakes happen, take your Porsche to a dealer. The dealer never screwed up my car and if they had, you know damn well they would be taking responsibility for the mistake. read more
