Couldn't be happier. Brad was prompt, polite, knowledgeable, focused... all the things you want to see, and also so honest! I had an old disposal that didn't work, and I'd had a new one shipped to me for Brad to install. And that new shipped disposal? Didn't work! It made the same noises the old one made, though it did briefly work partway through. I asked if there was any way he could get a new disposal and come back, since I wasn't likely to have time to set up another appointment any time soon, and here's where the honesty comes in: Brad wanted to be sure I was aware right upfront that he would have to add the travel time, mark everything up to cover taxes, and so on. There was no slipping in a bunch of hidden gotcha fees or vague dancing around the subject of how much the added work and parts would cost. He even suggested alternatives that would have saved me money (and made less for him). I've had other folks in to repair things before and let me tell you, that's not the way they handled it. With Brad, I knew exactly what to expect, and everything was reasonable, sane, logical, and honest. No surprises (except that the disposal I had shipped was a dud, of course!) So Brad went out and bought a second new disposal and voila! Within minutes, he had that new one installed and working like a charm. He also neatly boxed up all the bits from the one that I'd had shipped, so that I can easily return it without having to worry about whether I had all the right bits in the right places packaging-wise. And while he was working, he noticed I had a pipe that was cracked and replaced that, too, so no more leak I hadn't even known about. I'd thought water was getting under the sink from behind the sink where the caulking might have been pulling away, but nope. Cracked pipe. Mystery solved, leaky pipe banished, under-the-sink cabinets nice and dry. Long story short, I know who I'm calling whenever this old condo gives me any new plumbing issues. Brad B. is an excellent technician that I would recommend to everyone. I found him early on when I moved to a new house in Austin, and I kept going to him whenever I had plumbing issues (I've had issues with the toilet and tub and a leak beneath the kitchen sink). In my experience, I would give him a call and he would come the next day. He's courteous and polite, but most importantly, he does very good work. Worked 40 years in sales, I always wondered why a highly reviewed plumber charges less than industrial standard. Now I get it. We hired 3 different plumbers to install 3 brand new toilets. Our neighbor found all 3 off Yelp for us. Brad has the lowest rating (4.5 out of 5, the other 2 both have 5), but since his hourly rate is also the lowest (about 2/3 of the other 2), we chose him. Turned out his invoice is the most expensive. What an irony. The strategy is to long haul hours and charge high markups on materials. It's not a bad marketing tactic, just not what we like. After all, 4.5 star is not 5 star. Go with one of the 5 star plumbers and enjoy honesty. Quality wise, all 3 toilets survived the 3 month warranty period. read more

A very rude person, I called to ask for a quote and he quote me something with a huge range. I then asked if he could come by when ever he was in my part of the town and he started going on about how he would loose business if he did that. OMG, i was just asking as I wanted a quote, if the range was in few hundred $$ i was even fine but said it all depends on what have to replaced. I would stay away from people like this. He needs to tone himself down and be at least less rude to win new business. He could be a one man show and I understand he can't drive all around town but working with your customer as I was very flexible and he was point blank rude. Then, he showed up exactly on time and was able to explain the problem with my leaky faucets in a way that I understood. He finished the repairs I asked him out for and asked if I needed anything else today; I said no and he went to put his tools in the truck. By the time he came back I had decided to ask him about my toilet that was always making a running sound, and he immediately set out to fix it. I've used Brad a few times for some plumbing needs. He always responds quickly, and usually is able to schedule something within a day or 2. He gives a range of hours that he'll show up in, but has always showed up in the first hour in my experience. He diagnoses issues quickly, and has always done a thorough job. He's taken the time to recommend things to me that he noticed such as parts of my hot water heater that weren't up to code, but also telling me when it's not necessary for functioning and didn't push me to get them fixed. He also takes the time to explain things to you and is a very nice person. My jobs included installation of new garbage disposal, unclog tub, new toilet mechanisms, fix tub issue with water from shower, and install new kitchen faucet. Where there is smoke .. there has to be fire. All the Five Star reviews are spot on and the consensus is that Brad B. is a homeowners best friend. I've received quotes on replacing two hot water heaters - one downstairs in the garage and the other in the attic. Brad told me straight away that he could not do the attic but could do the garage. I appreciated his straight forward no bullsh1t message and had him to the house. He is honest and ethical which I value beyond price. I want the job done right but I dislike getting taken advantage of. Brad showed up right on time and quickly assessed what I needed and offered to save me money by letting me buy the parts (with him) at the DIY store. This knocked off unnecessary costs that neither of us would benefit from. The work was done well and the price came in substantially lower then the other bids so it is a win-win. Called Brad to get a quote on installing my water softener. I had received other quotes ranging from $400 on up. Brad quoted me between $250 - $600. When I asked him if he could narrow it down some he said no, it would depend on how it looked and what was needed. I found this a little bit off-putting, until reading a bunch of his Yelp reviews I found that for the most part the only negatives were by people who had similar phone experiences, but had never had him do the work. Anybody who had him do the work seemed very satisfied so I took the chance on him. He called as he was on his way and arrived during he early part of his scheduled window. He got the job done quickly and only charged me for the time spent actually working on the install (1 hour 15 mins) + the parts. Brad has always been the most honest, dependable and technically proficient master plumber for all the work in my house for the past 10-12 years. I wouldn't think of hiring anyone else. He recently replaced a water heater (gas) for me on very short notice (called him on a Sunday and he was able to schedule me for the following Mon morning) and after he completed the work, he explained to me how to maintain it properly. He practices very safe social distancing measures and ensures you're comfortable with what he needs to do. Brad is a good plumber but is expensive. I had a leak in a wall about a year ago and he had to build a toilet up higher that wasn't sitting correctly. His charge for that was reasonable, but I also had him replace a simple toilet flush kit and replace a shutoff valve for a sink, which took less than 20 minutes each, and charges for those things were quite steep. Maybe use him for big stuff in a pinch but find a cheaper option for the everyday stuff. read more

I have used Brad a few times. The first time I was just happy that he showed up and was actually on time. What a low bar, but having had to work with people in the service repair industry this was a big deal to me. The last time I had him come out was a big job. Installing 4 toilets. He quoted my husband that it would cost $125 per toilet. As you can see by the bill, he replaced every part imaginable with an upgraded part. What is ridiculous is the price he charged. Caulking runs about $1-$4 a tube at Lowe's. He charged me for 2 tubes to caulk 4 toilets at $11 each! My toilets were complete kits from Lowe's. Everything needed to install them was included from hardware to the wax ring. He did not ask me, but used his own parts off his truck which were brass. He even replaced the silver water line that existed and didn't need replacing. It was another part at a premium price. I was shocked to see the $1625 bill for what should have been $700 at the very most. I resent that he replaced working parts with his parts without asking and then charged a premium that is not even close to reasonable. It is like putting Porche parts on a Chevy. Do toilets need all brass hardware? No. But this guy will put them in without asking and then shove a ridiculous bill at you. It is literally like flushing money down the toilet! Bottom line, get a written quote from any service repairman and make them stick to it. I was taken advantage of because I did not do that. read more

I called Brad last weekend. I picked him because he called me back on a Sunday. I needed my project done quickly and his ranking on Yelp. I had him installed two lavatory sinks and complete installation of a kitchen sink. He did a good job on kitchen sink. Parts I had a leak at the angle valve on a sink after connecting supply lines that I found the next day. . He didn't replace them. I didn't ask him too. Fair enough. I called Brad to come back out. He did. Retightened the fitting but then said if the angle valve leaks he will have to come back out for additional charge. I deal with lots of vendors. I mean if you are under a sink why not change out the part? I'll pay it. I own 3 properties. But overall decent plumbing job. I never personally met him. All telephone transaction.
