Very nice little family style restaurant. We have the bear hunter sandwich and the chicken bacon ranch wrap. Both delicious, and also had the mozzarella sticks as an app and they came with homemade Marinara sauce. Will definitely go back. If I could give zero stars I would. I would have thought more restaurants would be more aware of the many food allergies out there. Last time I ordered there, everything had walnuts on my entrée including the salad. I hope Brady's restaurant is aware that people can die from a reaction to nut products or ingredients. Never once did I see any food allergy warnings on any of their menu's or posted on the wall. Many people with an allergy to peanuts are also allergic to one or more tree nuts, like walnuts, pecans or almonds. I don't know if its mandatory for restaurants to post food allergy information, but they should. I think this is basic food hygiene information. This is so serious that maybe the department of health should intervene. I am very disappointed in you Brady's. Apparently, you don't care enough about the health and safety of your customers. We were driving through the state and stopped off at Brady's. Don't go for glamour, but if you want kind servers, a diverse and reasonable priced menu, and a place local and not a chain - then stop on in and enjoy. The sirloin tip dinner was good, and the two people in our party that ordered the hamburgers enjoyed the generous size and fresh French fries. It needs some updating, but sometimes that's the charm you can walk away with. We stopped here for dinner after visiting falling waters and it was just what we were looking for. We saw the menu in a restaurant recommendation book at the front desk at falling waters and thought this place would be good. We weren't disappointed. There is a lot to choose from and had something to please everyone. I had the chicken fried steak and it came out really fresh and perfectly crispy. The bread the gave at the beginning was hot and nice and soft on the inside. The service was great; everyone was very friendly. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were big. I was visiting for a leisurely weekend from the DC metro area, and was looking for a good local joint - I aim to find things I can't get at home, that let me experience the area I'm visiting. I am normally willing to splurge on food, but this time I was looking to be a bit frugal, and this place delivered. Food - great bang for the buck. I picked up a Northwoods sirloin for dinner - classic steak flavor and cooked to my expectations. I can't complain about the salad that came with it, either. Perfect size, and a good selection of veggies in there. The rolls looked like they were house-baked (can't say for sure, just judging by their muffin shape), and were pretty tasty. Only odd thing was the water - it had a little bit of a fried flavor to it. Not sure what happened there. Atmosphere - just what I was looking for. Fireplace, old farm equipment, deer antlers, and chairs/tables that reminded me of my dad's old family restaurant. There's also a cute pond outside - even though it was cold and snowy, we still managed to stop by and feed the ducks. Also, lots of dining room space. There was a whole separate room they hadn't opened up that they probably reserve for busier nights or special events. Lastly, when we got the bill, I was impressed. I took a year off from Yelp, but my visit to Brady's forced me to return. Before heading off on a trip to Wooster, Ohio, I checked Yelp in search of a worthy restaurant to stop at for lunch, not wanting to rely on whatever fast-food monstrosity happened to be visible from the highway. About 2 1/2 hours out (which based on our planned departure, would be just the right time for lunch), in a little town called Acme, I found a spot called Brady's Restaurant, which at first seemed as if it would not be a place anyone would want to eat. There were lots of one- and two-star reviews for Brady's on Yelp, complaining about the "terrible service," turkey that "always tastes gamey," and "the absolute most disgusting meatloaf ever" ... but as I read on, I came across a wonderful review here by Greg B., which I won't cut and paste -- jut go read it! Anyway, it had me saying, I don't care what all those other reviewers say--I'm in! So at noon on a weekday, we stopped at Brady's, where I ordered a hot roast beef sandwich and my wife ordered the turkey. (She was kind of hoping it would be gamey.) When asked by our server if I wanted gravy on the fries, I said, sure! And what can I say? It turned out to be an excellent sandwich, though one which I needed to eat with a knife and fork because of the gravy. Good roast beef on good bread, served with good french fries ... and good gravy! It was just the sort of comfort food that was needed on a long road trip. Plus our server was energetic and attentive, taking great care of us. And my wife's turkey _wasn't_ gamey! Which proves once again that reading Yelp isn't as important as figuring out which reviews are worth paying attention to and which can be ignored. If I ever pass through Acme again, I'll certainly make another stop at Brady's. And I urge you to, too! read more

Since one star is the lowest, this place gets one star. If you like greasy food, this is your place. Four of us stopped in for a late dinner. Maybe they were cleaning the kitchen and turned off the fryer but the fries they served were limp and woefully greasy. The meals were served with generous helpings of pasty, greasy gravy. Local to this place, last time I was there they told us they stopped carrying diet soda (except diet Mt. Dew), so we quit going. What sit down restaurant doesn't have either Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi? Not one I want to go to, I guess. It should go without saying if we stopped going to this place because they don't have our preferred choice of beverage, the food was nothing really special. They say lake view dining, but it's a pond and only like 4 of the 40ish tables face it. Inside has a cabin feel. The animal heads and antler chandeliers aren't really my thing, but I do like the fireplace and all the wood. I don't really care for their gravies - which are all goopy and thick. Every time I tried a hot sandwich or dinners, it was disappointing. Their turkey always tastes gamey or "wild"-- which some people I guess might appreciate. I don't. I always found their other meats (roast beef/hamburger) overcooked and dry. They have a sandwich that's a play on chicken cordon bleu, that was my typical go to entree. Chicken tends to be the only meat that comes out cooked properly. They also have very good fresh veggies on their salad bar (which is the brunch buffet on Sundays) and in their dinner salads. Their celery seed dressing is very good - so for anyone stopping in, I'd recommend getting a salad to try that dressing. I feel bad saying this because Brady's is Laurel Highlands mountain institution, there is a restaurant right across the street at the golf course that is much better quality. read more

Just common fare here when it comes to food, burgers, wraps, salads, steaks, sandwiches etc. Just about everything you could imagine is here. Very basic diner that doesnt have too much in the form of decor, and has some very "hometown" diner friendly waiters and waitress's. Although it is not a 5 star review from me, its definitely a 4.5 and definitely suggested if you need a bite. Key words are good food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. I love this place! I can't get enough of their buffalo chicken salad with their awesome celery seed dressing. And yes, as many reviewers have stated it is just iceberg lettuce. If you want fancy field greens or spinach then you need to go back to the city or pick another restaurant because this is the country and the folks that eat here don't eat that stuff. Many of the regulars would not know what spinach or field greens were so that is who they are catering to. This is a very very small town but it also gets a lot of through traffic due to the skiing and the summer camping. The menu here is large so you are going to get a lot of reheated frozen food unless you pick something from the daily specials. Also, let's address the coffee. The town folks like their coffee weak so that is what you are going to get! This is my home town so I know a lot of these folk around here. So my advise would be, if you don't like weak coffee then pick something else. As far as not having diet pop, they don't carry what they don't sell. Again, they cater to locals, that is who keeps them in business. Portions here are HUGE for the price and I always leave with leftovers. 5 of us ate their last night, getting 2 buffalo chicken salads, eggs & bacon and 2 turkey dinners. I didn't notice any lumpy gravies and everyone that ordered turkey was happy as were the rest of us. The inside of the location is also very rustic with wood walls, posters, signs, deer antlers and a fireplace. This is also very much hunting country so a deer head mounted on the wall is pretty normal and many restaurants in town have the same thing. The restaurant also mentions that it has a water view. It does from the seats facing the rear of the restaurant. There are 2 ponds side by side and lots and lots of ducks. The seats that are in the front of the restaurant don't have a water view or the entire place would be on an island. There is a large back room which they only open on the weekends or when they are busy. You can also book a party in this room. I guess the reviewer that stated the room with the pond view was closed was talking about this room. The room was added years ago to deal with overflow and parties. The room is never open unless they are busy or there is a party. The waitresses here are young, usually still in high school or in college. Some have more experience than others and are more outgoing. For some, this is their 1st job so they are shy and timid as 1 reviewer mentioned. Remember your 1st job when you were 16 or 18, you probably were shy and timid too. The owner is there to manage his staff and work, not chat. If he has a moment he will stop by and chat with family members or people he knows but it is usually only for a few moments. He wouldn't stop and talk to someone he doesn't know, he's just not a chatty person. So, in a nutshell. Portions are HUGE and the menu is extensive which means reheated foods unless you get a daily special or maybe breakfast items. Cabin feel on the inside and only a few seats are pond view. Wait staff is friendly and not down your throat. The ducks and fish are always waiting for bread so bring a loaf or two with you. read more

I arrived with a group of 17 people to eat. The staff was so nice from the beginning. They gave us the back room which we had to ourselves. Our food came out very quickly and it was delicious. While the duck pond was pretty cool, and the decor was interesting (lots of vintage signs and wheel chandeliers), the food was only mediocre. We went for dinner, and three people in my party ordered salads. Despite the appealing descriptions, everyone who got a salad found it to be disappointing. Part of the reason for that is that they all contained tons of iceberg lettuce, and a little bit of anything else. I ordered the southwestern panini, which didn't taste half bad. I am, however, disappointed that the "paninis" in this area seem to just be regular old sliced white bread fried like grilled cheese. I would have to say that feeding the ducks was my favorite part of the experience, so take what you will from that. We probably won't be going back again (or at least not to eat salad!) read more

We frequent Brady's Restaurant a great deal, as we are local to the restaurant. It's a nice little drive up in the hills of the Laurel Highlands. Brady's is situated along the side of a road, with a duck pond adjacent. My son loves to feed the ducks after we are finished eating...and they even have a basket of bread that you can take to feed the ducks. We have eaten here for every meal, and they don't disappoint. Their breakfasts are largely portioned, and home cooked meals. For lunch, the wraps are really good. When we eat there for dinner, I usually end up getting the Forest Mushroom Chicken, or the Mountain Mushroom Sirloin....they are both very good! read more

Found this place while visiting from out of town. The restaurant is full of country charm. It's much bigger inside than it looks. The restaurant has a parking lot so parking was not a problem. There are a lot of windows in the dining area from which you can see nature and a duck pond. The salad and soup bar was delicious. There were four (!) different kinds of soup. Their house dressing is . Would highly recommend it! Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I like the feel of this place. They have the same chairs my Mom did back in the 80's, the wooden walls, Christmas lights.... I don't know, it feels nostalgic even though this was my first visit. The food, however, was pretty average at best. My Mac and cheese was definitely kraft, French fries were kind of crummy. Maybe it's just what we ordered? I was hoping for a real home style experience that included friendly service when I stopped here. Unfortunately, this did not happen. While the ducks outside the window of my table ran around a beautiful pond, the wait staff did not follow lead. It took a very long time to have our order taken, longer to get our first drink, and then even longer to get our meals. Which, by the way, consisted of eggs and hash browns. There is a breakfast buffet here and that could be the main draw for diners who want to eat quickly and thus serve themselves. However, if you want to order from the menu, be ready to buckle down and enjoy the view of the ducks outside the window because you'll be watching them for quite some time. read more

This place could easily be a 5 for some people. The celery sesame seed dressing is as excellent as advertised. The ambience is fitting to the style restaurant they are shooting for. I had the ribs and they were ok. I've had awesome ribs so I may be judging too harshly. There is a lot on the menu and I was too gutless to try some of items marked as "favorites". Brady's Restaurant is one of my absolute favorites! The food here is SO good! Do yourself a favor and try the buffalo chicken wrap! I love the "mountainy" feel of this restaurant.
