Overcharged and brakes are now worse than when I arrived. I took my two vehicles here and was hoping that they would be cheaper than my Chevy dealer and with a focus on brakes, it had to be better too. NO, I WAS WRONG. Not only did they overcharge for items that should never have been charged but my brakes lines have air in them which is a rookie mistake and I could not stop at an intersection. Second, the brakes now constantly squeak and after the initial air in the lines, it now has no braking power. I had them also change the differential oil and now it leaks all the time. I won't blame them for this but now my emergency brakes don't coincidently work. I regret going there. My truck and Yukon are only 5 years old but the brakes feel like they are 25 year old brake systems. read more

Absolutely terrible service, I parked my car and went into the lobby and stood there at the counter for over 15 minutes. I was most certainly seen as employees looked in the window and never came in to assist. I then got in my car and drove around thinking maybe I should have done that initially, well nope. I was finally greeted at my car and immediately told to go park my car and go into the lobby. I proceeded to explain that I was just in the lobby and I simply asked if they were able to take a look to see what was wrong , I was only asking so I could determine if I should wait around (park my car and enter the lobby again). The employee was extremely short and answered how would I know what is wrong and then told me he is only going off of appointments today. I was completely taken back because he had just told me to go park my car and wait in the lobby. I left and went across the street and was seen immediately at Jiffy Lube who by the way was busier than Brake Check. I will never return and wouldn't want them working on my car anyways, I would prefer a problem solver. read more

Caution Never go to Brake Check. In The first week of Feb. 2018, I took my car to Brake Check. Where I informed them the car was leaking oil, Brake check gave me an estimate to fix the car. So with this quote in mind, I assumed from the quote, that they would fix all the oil leaks along with the other issues with the car. I also asked them to change out the belts as well. I came back to get the car the next day, When I got there they said the power steering well was leaking, so I had them fix it. I came back the next day, picked up my car to bring it home. The very next day, the Service Engine light came on so I brought the car back and the folks at brake check said it was do to the fact they had been working on the car and they had to reset the light. At the same time, they informed me that my oxygen sensor was out. I told them I had just recently had this issue fixed and to please give me the print out of what was broken and I would take it back to where it was fixed before. Brake check gave me a scrap of paper with some numbers on it. Since I left there, the light has not come back on again. On March 11, 2018 I traveled to Austin where my car broke down and I was forced to have it towed to a mechanic I knew in Austin. I had to rent a car from Enterprise so I could drive back home to San Antonio. The mechanic, located back in Austin, called me Monday on March 12 whereby he informed me that both my starter and alternator went out. And asked me why was there so much oil in the pan. I told him that I had just had the car fixed for an oil leak. He told me because of all the oil in the pan caused my car to go out and I was lucky to make it to Austin. In July, I was checking on the oil again to have it changed, and was told I was leaking oil and my belts needed to be changed. So I Called Brake Check and they wanted to look at the car again, I explained everything starting back From February. They looked at my car and then they told me YOU DIDN'T TELL THEM TO FIX ALL THE LEAKS! I expected them to tell me about all of the leaks. They just told me about one. At this point I don't think there was anything wrong with my power steering. read more

BEWARE!! This is possibly the worst service center ever!!! 1. Horrible customer service. Rude and they actually tried to explain the reason for their rudeness to another customer stating "I love charging old guys for service they don't need" while I was sitting in the lobby! 2. They did work on my car (resurfacing rotors) stating that the rotors needed it. Funny thing is, I started hearing issues with my brakes not long after. I took it to the dealership and had the service techs tell me that my rotors are a type that don't need resurfacing and that whoever I took it too should not be working on my type of vehicle. 3. They put FAULTY pads on my vehicle. The wires were spliced and caused my brake warning system to not work properly. 4. They all flat out lied about repairing this when I called back a few weeks later to state all the above but was told that the warranty had already expired. I took my car to another brake check in NB and they immediately resolved the issue. This is the shadiest Brake Check I've ever been to. I've already taken all the documentation I have showing their complete lack of care and sent it to the BBB and filed a complaint with the local HQ's. read more

Jeez Louise what can I say. I set an appointment online for an alignment which I get free lifetime alignment and showed up 15 mins early. Introduced myself to the guy behind the desk and handed over my keys. He gave my keys to a lady who walked around my car which I'm guessing was to inspect the vehicle for damage before she got in. Now before I came to this establishment I didn't have any lights on my dash except a tire sensor light which was due to the front right tpms sensor going out. They drive my car into the bay and proceeded with the alignment. They take the car out and drive it and realized the alignment isn't right. They took it back into the bay and re-aligned the car. While they realigned the car the guy behind the desk is checking the wheel hub jerks my wheel violently (as if he was Shaq hanging from an NBA rim) and I'm noticing a lot of movement now (I tend to check my own hubs when I do wheel changes in my personal garage never have I violently shook a wheel like that.) (Guy behind the desk basically busted my wheel hub and now triggers a check Stabilitrack code, traction control, and competition mode) and calls me in and points out parts that I recently replaced. I don't ask for cost to replace because luckily I know how to turn my own wrench. After they bring the car to the front I notice my flip-switch key is broken. WOW!!!! I ask the lady what happened to my key and she states "We got it like that." Jesus. Stay clear of this shop. read more

I took my car in after first calling to check their availability. They had an opening at 11:30am, which worked perfectly for me. When I walked in the office, they correctly guessed it was me when I arrived along with a warm greeting. Good start. The check-in was quick, and I was out the door within 5-minutes to catch a ride back to my office. Within 5-minutes, I received a text message that my car was in the bay for inspection, and when it was completed about 45-minutes later, I received another text message letting me know the inspection was done along with a web link to see the results. I was very impressed with the info they shared and recommendations regarding my vehicle. Easy to understand website along with images of my vehicle and the parts they inspected. They also recommended different repair options along with pricing and links to videos describing what the repair was all about. EXTREMELY COOL! I was blown away. I called them, let them know what I wanted done, and it was all extremely easy and straightforward. When I picked up my car that afternoon, they showed me what was done, and when I asked about a particular component that I decided not to repair, the technician brought me to the bay to show where the component sits inside a different vehicle and it's functionality. Being an engineer, I really appreciated them taking time to explain something that I hadn't even purchased. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the level of service, communication, and technology. Kudos to the team, and I highly recommend to others. read more

Regardless of what you may read with all the mixed reviews on Brake Check, I myself was always afraid, skeptical and cautious about taking my truck to Brake Check all my life. But when my front breaks went out on me and needed them replaced in an emergency & on the fly! I called Firestone etc. for price and installation and wondered if I was going to give up my hole paycheck and a 1/2 to Firestone, I finally stopped in at brake check here on San Pedro and saved enough not going to Firestone and/or others I had called and had some extra money because of the reasonable prices from Brake check to do some extra work on my truck for flushing out my break lines and a pack the front bearing while my truck was in their shop and I was saving money!!. it's all about saving money by calling and asking around if there are any discounts or know what others are charging around town. I even called auto parts stores to check part pricing so I can have an idea who was price gauging and checking for labor cost which varies depending on big companies or mom & pop garages which are where I usually go to. Now I found somewhere close to home, convenient and trustworthy! I took another vehicle for repairs and returned my truck for more repairs today they replaced my front bushings, ball joints, rear brake cylinders flushed my radiator oil changed and lifetime wheel alignment for far less money than FIRESTONE & other companies that I called. I WAS TOTALLY WRONG! I REALIZED I WAS BAMBOOZLED AND RETURNED BECAUSE I BELIEVE THEY FORGOT TO PUT A BOLT/SCREW BACK IN PLACE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT A SCREW GOT LOGGED UNDER MY TRUCK IN TO THE A-ARM... A REALLY TIGHT FIT FOR A SCREW TO GET LOGGED INTO FROM THE HIGHWAY, BECAUSE WHEN I BACKED UP MY FRONT WHEEL LOCKED UP AND MY STEERING WAS VERY LOOSE WHEN I WAS DRIVING UNTIL I RETURNED BACK AND HAD IT CHECK AND REPAIRED CORRECTLY, BUT THEN I WAS CHARGED A $30.00 WARRANTY FEE ON TOP OF THAT!. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY FAULTY WORKMANSHIP AND I GAVE THEM THE BENEFIT OF A DOUGHT.I STILL HEAR GRINDING WHEN I STEP ON MY BRAKES TO STOP HINCE THE REASON I STOPPED IN IN THE FIRST PLACE TO REPAIR MY TRUCK!, BUT I AM AFRAID OF GETTING CHARGED MULTIPLE TIMES FOR FAULTY WORKMANSHIP AGAIN. read more

Got my rotors surfaced, got new pads, and new brake fluid at brake check for $180. At the Mexican garage, I got my WHOLE entire brake system replaced and it was only $300. What a rip off! I will NEVER take my car here to have work done! I recently dropped off my car to have the squeaky brakes looked at. After inspection, they told me I need ALL NEW BRAKE PADS and the rotors turned to the tune of over $450! I decided to check one more repair shop. They were less, so I dropped off my car to have all new brake pads put on. This shop told me they didn't need brake pads at all, that my brake pads were almost new and in excellent condition. This Brake Check offers excellent service. Tucker and his crew went above and beyond to fix the studs on my tire that had become accidentally misaligned. They spent several hours straightening parts and fixing others that were too long to fit into the wheel and tire structure of my car. At the end of the day, the bill was EXTREMELY reasonable!! They had my SUV several hours and offered polite and professional service. The service was way above par and these people actually cared about my situation. I was recently in San Antonio for work and pulled up too far on a curb which caused the plastic tarp protecting my undercarriage to rip off. The snaps attaching it to my bumper broke off and this was now causing the piece to drag underneath my car. Not familiar with the area, I googled auto-repair places and thankfully came across this shop. I didn't realize at the time, but the shop was already closed for the day, although, by the warm and friendly greeting I would have never known. Luis completely took care of me! He had his service techs take my car right in and put it on the lifts to assess the damage. They were able to re-attach the plastic tarp quickly and seamlessly and even took time to explain to me in deail what had happened and how they were fixing it. They test drove my car to make sure it was driving okay afterwards as well. After hearing I was from Houston, Luis also gave me his brother's contact information as he owns auto shops there and urged me to call him if I had any other issues when I returned. Check their Better Business Bureau review! This place scams people by doing work that will last just past the sorry 4000 mile warranty they give. I went to this location 4 times to give them the opportunity to fix my brakes right and they didn't. After the 4th time I demanded a full refund and they act as if I am scamming them. I spent $270 for a brake job that first lasted a week, then they fixed it and it lasted 5 more weeks. This place will waste your time and money and then respond to you as if you did something wrong. Take a look at how they respond to my email demanding my money back. "GIFTS"? Is that supposed to mean that I want a full refund because I need money for gifts? Is it too much to ask for a full refund when you have given them 4 opportunities to fix your brakes right? I don't think it is. It's not about the money, they can keep it as a GIFT. I've got the GIFTS of my experience to share with anyone that will listen. And I have to say, I have never been in a more giving mood. Merry Christmas!! I was impressed with their customer service. I have was handled by their region manager who was very professional, honest, and real. They didn't try to sell me on stuff I didn't need. One of my break pads recently malfunctioned which was pretty frustrating. It made me question the quality of their products, however, after more research I learned that it was pretty common. After going here the manager himself talking to me about what was going to happen with my car even took me in the garage to show me himself. Went in for new front brake pads and was told that there were several other things necessary to get my vehicle up to pass inspection standards. I went ahead and paid for these other services, spending over $400. I spent over 3 hours at the facility waiting for the services to be completed. As I left, my car shook and made sounds I had NEVER experienced before since I first purchased the vehicle 9 years ago. The corporate director, Luis Forero, and another employee named Jon (whom are both kind people) assured me that since I had a sleeping child with me, that if I returned tomorrow, they would fix the issue free of charge. So far, I am very unhappy with the service I received, and hopefully the issue will be resolved without any payment from me tomorrow. read more

I absolutely love this place. I am new to the area and never heard of this place and decided to try it for oil changes. I am a student as well so I wasn't trying to spend a lot of money. Good prices and can get a free tire rotation as well and 4th oil change is free. I have also gotten a lot of other stuff done as well from alignments and brake issues. They really take care of me there. I am always satisfied with my service. Luiz always seems to have everything under control and a very nice guy!!! If he can't fix my vehicle he will send you to places he trust which he has done for me in the past and I even had great service with them as well.
