Absolutely horrible service. We brought in a coupon and they refused to do the work on the coupon. We asked for an oil change, brake check and alignment. We set an appoint at 2PM and they had it until 530 and none of the work was completed. We called several times and they said the car was on the rack being worked on. They were extremely rude and refused to do the work. It's not worth taking your car here! Poor service poor communication and just bad business. Likely will be out of business soon anyways with these types of business practices. Note to the owner check your rejects running your business. so I dropped off my girlfriends car to get a simple oil change. While they were doing inspection they completely cracked the brake drum. (Replaced it with no charge yes) but when I called prior to asking how long it would be he told me 30 min top. Did not tell me that they cracked it or anything happened. When I showed up they were still waiting on the part and she had to be at work. Said they would keep it over night when I passed by there to check later it was been out all night & they brought it back in this morning when I came back and said they had it locked up all night. Still made me pay for price for this bull crap and said they would give me a discount towards my next oil change. Like I'm EVER gna go back there. Had a brake inspection done at Brake Masters in Citrus Heights on 6/25 and on 6/27 I find a stripped lug nut which breaks off upon removal. Wow, that just lost them a job even though it only cost $4 for new stud and nut. Go back to the store on 6/28, manager gets involved and at first says tells me bring in receipt and we will get you that cost back. Im cool with that. They still lost brake job. Then the manager gets cocky saying " how do you know it was even us"? Now its game on. No one else touched truck during those two days. Nut was cross threaded on and you can easily tell by way stud broke it was a counter-clockwise force that broke stud. When I told manager that his response was"I doubt that". Well if they didn't inspect the truck (to include removing the wheel) how could they write an estimate to replace additional parts? (Wheel cylinders) Well maybe they didn't and just wrote a guess. Maybe the California Bureau of Automotive Repair would be interested in how they wrote the estimate then? What a pompous ass. Why do i write this? In hopes others don't take their business there. So unprofessional. My question to Brake Masters, Is it worth $4 to hire such unprofessional people and do lousy work like that? Any first year mechanic in a trade school would know if you have to hammer a lug nut on with an air wrench the whole way, you've stripped it? Why send a vehicle out with a safety issue? WOW. Day of event: Quote given on 02-20-14. Taken to the shop time: 7:00am to 8:00am on 02-22-14 I got an estimate for timing belt, water pump, tensioner etc, also front & rear brakes for an 2009 Acura TL. He said we have a brake special for $89 on front about $20 more for back, Then the guy quoted me the timing belt kit at $960. I told him wow, OK, never-mind, the dealer quoted me at $750. How about the brakes. He said, "That's OK We'll price match it." I said OK so what's the total bill out the door. Keep in mind I didn't ask for price match he offered that. Then my out the door quote came back as $782.56 for timing belt kit & labor. Front Brakes was upped to $139.21 & back brakes were upped to $149.21 for a total of $1.071.98. Now the brake job has gone from $198 to $288. I figure that's where he's going to re-coop some of the discount on the timing belt deal. It took him about 10 minutes on the phone to come up with this quote. So I make an appointment for Saturday morning. He said be here at opening (7am) because it would take all day. OK, I will. I get there at 7am &the guy at the desk says we cant do it at that price he must've gave you the wrong price. What?? He took like 10 minutes to come up with that quote now your telling me that he didn't do his homework and check the price in the computer. he says hold on & calls district manager who is on his way to Tracy, CA at the time. He come s back and says that OK, we'll do it at that price, we'll just have to use cheaper parts. At this point I'm outraged... first they say they can't do, now they're telling me that they are going to put some cheap garbage parts in my $44,000 car. Have they lost their mind. I took my keys and told them that I'd make sure everyone knew how this new branch conducted business... He said that he was a new guy, he shouldn't have quoted that offer. We're not making any money on that job. I said sounds like he needs to be trained & or supervised better, and now I have wasted an hour of my time at your shop and got up & got my car here at 7am on a Saturday only to be told if we do this we are going to put cheap aftermarket sub-OEM parts in your $44,000 car. New management! I took my car in last week, and they let me know that my car took a different than normal oil. Little more expensive, but I'm more than satisfied. My car has been running smoother and idles more quietly and smoother than when I took my car to the dealership. Well worth it. What's a few more dollars when compared to the price of a car. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I had a coupon for a synthetic oil change for $15 off at $54.95 and scheduled service. This was to include a 21 point inspection, check and fill fluids, and tire rotation. I gave them my coupon and they wrote me an estimate paper and told me they would call me for pick up. They called me and said I needed an oil filter (which the coupon stated it was to be included) and a cabin filter, I agreed to have them install. After receiving a call for pick up it was a different guy at the counter ringing me up for double the charge and did not want to honor the coupon. I told him the coupon was included on the estimate paper upon drop off. Then after his rude debating me he took $10 off and not $15 off as the coupon said. They also did not give me the Valvoline rewards with discounts offered with a synthetic oil change. I took my car home extremely upset with the rude customer service. In addition to the over charging me and rude service my car is making loud screeching sounds. After having someone else look at the breaks it turns out I have no break pads!!! I called them back and asked why they didn't mention this too me and did not inspect the car. Isn't the name of this company "Break Masters"??? They wanted me to schedule break service and inspection to pay for it also. I said my car was supposed to be inspected with tires rotated, they even wrote on my paper they rotated the tires. Well the guy told me in order for them to of checked the breaks they would of had to taken off the tires, ummm they said they did a tire rotation... So of course I will not be going back there for them to over charge me and not perform service. Makes me question the whole service, did they really change my filters and inspect my car at all??? I called over the phone earlier in the day and spoke to a nice gentleman named Brad. He was very patient with me while I asked all my questions in regards to getting an oil change and looking up some specs on my car. I went in later that day to get that full synthetic oil change. The environment was very friendly, clean and comfortable. I also had a free brake inspection, but While they were in the process of the oil change they called me into the back to take a look at my loose after market side skirts. While looking closer the manager Dwayne noticed that the screws were still in fact there, but the pre-made holes in my side skirt seemed to have torn...probably when I hit a curb, speed bump or something while living in Mexico. He said let's see what we can do and he took the extra time to take out the screws and place them back over my side skirt so that he could tighten it all back up for me. Well it did the trick and no more loose side skirts! I would definitely recommend this location. They were very trustworthy, caring, and professional. read more

I was hesitant to go to Brake Masters again because of a bad experience I had a different Brake Masters. But I'm sure glad I gave them a second chance. I'm happy with my current shop, but since this shop is much closer to me, is much cleaner, and is open on Saturdays, I may have to switch to this Brake Masters. Was ignored while staff did paperwork when I first arrived. Finally greeted by another employee after 10 minutes or so of standing at desk. Got an oil change. Said it would be about 30 minutes or so. Was there over an hour. Again, my paperwork to be checked out was laying on desk while staff answered calls and talked to other customers on phone. My car was done but had to wait another 10 minutes -with no one else in waiting room-for my name to be called. Unhappy with service. Brake Masters Location: 8000 Greenback Ln Citrus Heights, CA Oil Change and Tire Rotation Went in for appointment on May 22, 2015 Coming to this shop/location was a horrible idea. I had gone in for an oil change and they offered me a tire rotation so I did that as well. I left the shop feeling great about the work that was done, until about a month later on June 25, 2015. I had heard something loose on my right front wheel. I looked to see what was going on. I figured the cap to my wheel was loose but I was wrong, I saw a lug nut completely loose and moving around in my wheel cap. I called Brake Masters and asked to speak with a manager, I told the manager what had happened and asked for a refund, he stated that he would have to speak with his store manger to see if that was possible and that she would be in tomorrow. I then got off the phone with him and immediately called America's Tire (which is where I got my tires and wheels from) and told them I had a lug nut loose in my wheel cap and they told me to come in as soon as possible. I went in; they pulled my truck into the bay and inspected all 4 wheels. The right front wheel had the lug nut loose and also the following: America's Tire: "Customer came in with a noise coming from the right front. When we did the inspection on the vehicle we found 2 lugs loose in the cap for the wheel along with a lug nut still on the stud loose. We did an inspection on the rest of the wheels and tires and torque all." I then called Brake Masters back the next day in the afternoon and spoke with the store manager. Told her the full story, asked for the refund, and all she responded with was, "You came in for an oil change"..... Yes, but I also could have lost a tire that their team had touched last. She stated she would call their area manager and see what they can do. I asked if I could personally call them and she gave me attitude and stated for the second time that she would. She was extremely rude and disrespectful. Before the phone call was over I finally got the area managers number, called him, James, and left a message on June 26, 2015 and never hear back and it is now June 30th. I had spoken with the manager, store manager, and contacted the area manager and got hardly any acknowledgment to the issue. Going to this shop was a mistake and I will not be returning to any of the Brake Masters locations. They seem careless and disrespectful. If I would have lost that right front tire on my Dodge Ram 1500 it would have done a lot of damage and possibly cost me my life. read more

I want to thank the guys @ brake master I went in for a oil change and my engine light was on I had them do a diagnostic test on my car they took their time and tested it and not only did they find the problem they fixed it at no extra charge I was going to smog my car from there they informed me I needed to drive the car for a while so the computer would reset and to bring it back to them and they would check it and make sure the computer had reset at no extra charge I bought it back 3 different times before the computer had reset they helped me out big time the 2 mangers are very good with the customers I will definitely be back thank you read more

I've been coming to this location for a few years now. They're always friendly and up-front about repairs--what's needed right away, what can wait and the costs. They are honest about the wait time and if they can't get my service done in a reasonable time. My son and I bring our vehicles here for all the services available and if there's something they can't fix, they are usually able to name a few local reputable places for us to choose from. We made an appointment and came in a few minutes early. We were greeted kindly and had two cars, one for an alignment and the other oil change..we paid the amount that was estimated.. I wanted them too top off my radiator fluid overflow, so I checked the reservoir before we left and it had not been topped off.. I kindly asked them to top off and a mechanic kindly did so, at that moment I asked him why my radiator reservoir fluid was going down so fast and he told me that he wasn't quite sure but said it could be your thermostat stuck open ( my gauge for the radiator shows that it runs a little hot and could cause faster evaporation of fluid.. I recently had my water pump replaced and ever since then the fluid evaporates faster than usual and gauge shows a hotter temp. He said to take it back to the place that did the water pump, because they did a full diagnostic on the issue and should know what's the problem and not charge extra for the same issue. He was honest and said they would have to start from the beginning and charge the diagnostic fee plus any repairs ( he didn't want me to be charged extra and I appreciate that honesty)!! Normally I cringe at the thought of car repairs. I'm female and, unfortunately stereotypically, not so car-oriented. However, the brakes were squeaking and so I made an appointment to get them done. Amazingly I had the best, most honest and caring experience ever! Not only were my brakes still in good shape ... the squeaking was built up brake dust between the pad and rotors ... they cleaned the up, put the tires back on and charged me nothing for fixing the squeak! Seriously ... I've never met more honest people in my life! They could easily have charged me for new brakes (and probably up-sold me), but instead they earned my respect and repeat business for life!
