We were leaving the next day for a camping trip in the mountains when I noticed fluid leakage between the brake master cylinder and the power booster. Brake Masters replaced the master cylinder. When we left on our camping trip we noticed that the power booster was no longer working. Upon return we took the vehicle back to Brake Masters, who told us the vehicle was operating properly. IT WAS NOT! While they charged me the price of original equipment, I was surprised to note that the master cylinder they installed had no marks of identification of any kind. It looked to me more like a remanufactured or a Chinese item. Earlier reviews praised "Johnny" or "Larry." I never saw them and they may no longer be there. The most recent review from 2022 gave Brake Masters the lowest possible rating, one star. I have to do the same. I think my vehicle left there in a less safe condition than when I brought it in. The guys are the typical con artist. Just got my car back from the dealer. They said I needed new front brakes. Back brakes were ok. Figured I could get a better price than the dealership so bright it to a local brake place. They told me it would take 1 hour. After 1 1/2 hours they called me their suggestions..new rotary on the front and back and new brakes front and back and shock and strut replacement. Johnny the manager was very defensive actually aid to me you don't trust me and think I'm a bad guy because I'm Mexican. That was a funny one. I told him I didn't trust him because he tried to con me into services I didn't need. He also suggested I should not trust the dealer who just replaced my engine for free Hmm who would you trust? AVOID!!! AVOID!! I took my truck in for an oil change, and ended up having to essentially buy new car because of these guys. The mechanic who installed the oil filter did not do it correctly. Drove my truck home (three whole blocks), parked it in the driveway, and then left for the weekend on vacation. After four days of vacation, I returned home, hopped in my truck and started her up. Reversed out of the driveway, saw a massive puddle of dried up oil, so I pulled over to the curb. As I pulled over, my engine blew. Brake Masters blamed Penzoil for a faulty filter, so I sent the filter in to be tested by a third party. Nope, filter was not faulty, it was determined that the mechanic did not screw the filter in all the way. Brake Masters then tried to blame me. I am sorry, how is this my fault? I was out of the state for 4 days. I ended up having to have my engine completely rebuilt. Brake Masters to this day has not accepted any responsibility, and refused to assist me with the cost of the engine being rebuilt. You as a company are responsible for your employees' mistakes. This is why I have taken this matter to court. What a headache you idiots have caused me. All over one of your mechanics who couldn't preform an oil change. read more

This place overcharges. Their mechanics tried to quadruple his time quotes to milk more money out of my car. I would not waste time at this shop unless you want to spend double for everything. Well it's my 3rd time here. The coupon from Americas Tires saves me $40. And it's hard to find a computer balance shop. Last time they quoted me 1 hour or $90 to do a job that took me 15 minutes at home on the ground in my garage. Not cool when a mechanic over quotes time and rate when they can do, what took me 15 minutes, in 3 minutes. Thus place seems okay for regular brake jobs and alignments, but I would beware of the upsale and how they quote work time at 4x the realistic amount. I was a mechanic years ago and I haven't forgotten how to turn a wrench. But I'm also a business owner and I know how to be honest and truthful, not to mention just being a cool cat and going the extra mile for my customers. Life isn't free but here is a free tip. TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMER(NOT THEIR WALLET) AND YOU WILL HAVE MORE CUSTOMERS FROM THAT CUSTOMER. Try to steal and the world will talk about it on the Internet. A+B=C And when I told the manager he tried to justify charging 1 hour for 15 minutes of work. He just doesn't seem to understand what good customer service do in the long run. And if I have to argue customer service with a manager, they should be in something other than a customer service industry. I can only imagine how badly woman are taken advantage at most auto shops. Makes me feel bad I'm not a mechanic anymore I wouldn't try to pull a fast one. I do the little fix it and tell them what I did. They were happy, and usually tipped. I saw their ad in the PennySaver and figured I would give them a try because I needed brakes done. I called before I went in to get an 'over-the-phone' estimate. Mike was more than helpful and very pleasant to deal with, so I went in. I am very glad I did because Mike took very good care of me. He is one of the last good guys in the world today and I never once felt like he was going to try to take me for every penny I had. Better than that, I was in and out in a short amount of time. Shady business. I contacted them for their free brake inspection. I asked them about it and they said yes it's free but I then gave them my scenario which is - I took my vehicle 3 weeks prior to calling them to get brake changed at a different auto shop. My rakes squeak a lot. I didn't take my vehicle back to the other shop because the quality of their work wasnt good. So I asked them if they could check out the noise it makes so I could have it serviced with them. The guy rapidly changed his tone and told me the brake inspection was no longer free and that it would cost me $50. WTF! Many other shops have free brake inspections, it's something so easy so these business can gain business. Screw these guys. Now taking my rotor job and the issue elsewhere. I called AL up and he gave me a straightforward quote which was far less than the dealership, I brought my car in the next day. It could not have been a more straightforward and professional experience. AL gave me an estimated time frame, and said he would keep me updated. By the time my girlfriend picked me up from the shop to have lunch, AL had already given the car his initial inspection and an updated pickup time. He called back earlier than expected to let me know the work was done. When I picked up my 2004 Acura, I let him know how much I appreciated him taking the time explaining the maintenance of 100,000 miles needed. He helped me prioritized the list of items needed to be done since I couldn't afford to do it all at once and explain anything I have concerns with. I'd recommend them highly! read more

Very unprofessional. I called at 4:45 (they close at 6) and asked if I can urgently come get my oil changed (they had the lowest price with a discount). They said to come in, and I said I would be there at 5:30. They said OK. I drove their after getting off work at 5pm, got there at 5:30 yet the staff all told me, "Yah we close at 6 but we don't do any more work after 5:30." I explained I literally spoke with them not too long ago but they said I must have called the wrong Brake Master location. I showed them their phone number and their contact info in my phone and on my Google Maps but the workers as well as their manager all told me they don't know what I was talking about. Very happy with this place, Sergio is the man there and made sure to take care of me and my Jeep. Having the Jeep and using it to off-road is very expensive , Jeep alone is expensive add in me breaking it every week doesn't help. Sergio went above and beyond and gave me fair prices with knowledgeable suggestions . Initially took it in for an alignment , knowing I had several issues going on under there. They did a great job on repairing bad ball joints and steering gearbox (things you may not think they'd do). No haggle on it being lifted or 4 wheel drive etc, same fair prices as if it was a little corolla. Most places see a Jeep and see $$, Sergio kept it real. Much appreciated . He even honored the warranty on the alignment when he didn't have to knowing Issues that happened were my fault from abusing it out there on trails. I'm now a new loyal customer, plan to bring my daily driver along with my work vehicles . I asked for an alignment know some parts were almost worn out. They said no warranty due to that. I did not have and issue with that. But when you ask for an alignment, you expect it to be aligned to manufacture specs. No, they decided to set it do far out it wore my tires out in 5000 miles. I will never recommend this company to anyone, not even for an oil change. Ever since they replaced the manager with this new guy, they suck at customer service and won't take care of them at all. A little late to post but my friends car needed an oil change so my uncle had paid for it in advance and when I got there a man Leonard (hope I spelt that right) was so helpful and incredibly nice to me considering I had zero clue what I was talking about, he understood and addressed all concerns. NEVER AGAIN! My daughter took her car her fro a brake check. They were busy and asked her to leave her car and they would call her. She was fine on the brakes. They replaced her air filter and she went to pick up her car. They LOST her key to her car. They looked and found it no where. I refused to take her car home knowing that someone has the key and her address. I left it overnight and had them assume liability until the next day when they could either find the key or re-key it. They did not find the key. They refused to re-key her car. They treated us terrible. Remember THEY LOST her key. We will never use this Brake Masters again. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. A disappointment. I went for an oil change with a coupon, calling ahead to get a price for my unusual vehicle. I leave the car there and receive a phone call a half hour later that the oil change will cost additional $7. Second, Brakemaster told me that the front brakes needed service and offered to do them for $200. I declined and went elsewhere for an estimate.Firestone carefully measure the wear on all four brakes and concluded that they didn't need service at all. I sent my wife to get a front end alignment because the car was pulling slightly to the right. She was told that the car needed inner and outer tie rods and a new front hub assembly for $698. I told her to take it to our regular mechanic who said the hub assembly was a little loose which he tightened for free. He check the tie rods and said they were fine, I just needed to rotate the tires which fixed the slight pull for $0.00. I thought the days of mechanics taking advantage of women who don't know about cars was over, apparently not. I went to brake masters to have them look at an oil leak after I went to one of those supposedly fast oil places. I also had them look at everything else. Larry was very honest and helpful. Could have got me or brakes but they were good. Could have got me for a oil gasket but told me go to the dealer as it is under warranty. They did find that my belt was torn in a section. Thank-goodness they found that then vs. me driving somewhere. They completed my radiator service and other liquids for the car. Larry always kept me up to speed on what was going on with everything and the service the Larry and his team gave was superb! This is the way it should be! Talk to Larry, he is the manager. Always provides quotes over the phone and they advertise coupons you can find online. Be prepared to leave your car for a few hours. There are few things to walk to nearby if you don't have anyone to drive you home during the wait. I used to take my car to the dealer and they would charge me an arm and a leg. If you pay for the lifetime brakes, redoing your brakes once will make it worth it. After the initial time of fixing your brakes, you will only pay for the labor any time you return. They are good about calling and letting you know when everything is finished. read more
