Once again, the guys at Brake Masters on Miller Valley Road in Prescott Arizona came through for me. Getting ready for a trip to Montana, the day before I was getting ready to leave, my steering box developed a major transmission fluid leak.They got me right in and within two hours, my 1993 Ford E-150 Econoline club wagon (92,000 mi) was ready for the trip to Montana. The guys at Brake Masters are great. First, I was late dropping my car off (after 5 pm) and one of their guys on his motorcycle ready to take off saw me and got off his bike, opened up the office and processed the paper work. He could have ignored me and let me drop my keys off. The next day of the appointment Roy (I believe could be Ray) called to let me know he didn't see anything that would necessitate any work. My car and I were treated extremely well today by BrakeMasters (near Fair St Frys). Same-day service, rides to and from home, job done quickly at a lower cost than was quoted to me 8 years ago by a competing service. Manager Roy was courteous and helpful. We couldn't have been more pleased with the service we got! We are from out of state visiting family and our Ford F250 truck started making a squealing noise. Galpin Ford was absolutely no help and said they couldn't even get us in for 2 days just to diagnose - not perform work. So we asked a couple of people and Brake Master was highly recommended. We called and got an appointment at 11am the next day. We arrived at 10:30 and Roy was so kind and helpful. They looked at the truck within 30 minutes and diagnosed something other than what we expected and he said it was something they could not fix in their shop. He was honest and said we could continue to drive it til we got home. Wouldn't hurt anything. Then he was not going to charge anything for their time and diagnosis! We did leave a gratuity. We didn't expect such good service and then free on top of that. Their customer waiting area was small but comfortable. When we are on the road and have car trouble, it's unsettling to have to try to find a mechanic that can be trusted and is good. Brake Master is a gem! Above and beyond! Nobody does this anymore......but I had a brake job by another shop in another city, and on my way to Prescott the Truck was pulling hard left under heavy braking......took it in and asked them to fix whatever the other shop had done......and while they were in there, pls check why my check engine light was on........got a call the next day saying it was done and ready to be picked up.......came in expecting another hefty bill.......but NO CHARGE! They found the other shop had kinked the driver side brake line (so it wasn't working and allowed the truck to pull left). They even test drove it after correcting the error AND CLEARED ALL MY ENGINE FAULTS (which was due to the battery being replaced). THANK YOU Brake Masters, you've restored my faith in HONESTY, INTEGRITY AND TRUST! I'll drop by soon to buy the shop Pizza for lunch. read more

Came in today to visit muy son at ERAU, he tells me the car is making grinding sound...NOT good. Found Brake Másters con Yelp. Got here at 8AM, very nice gentelman behind the front desk before 8AM. Big fixed my driver side window motor that was not working. They offered me a full vehicle inspection checking my transmission fluid radiator fluid brake fluid and the safety of the entire vehicle. I have been coming to this Brake Master for years. Great service by great employees every time. From little things such as following up on promises made on a previous job to verifying claims made by other shops about work needed. I brought in my own headlight for replacing during an oil change. They installed it for free. I even double checked with the staff before I left because I saw the installation wasn't on the invoice and I didn't want to leave Brake Master without paying them. They said it was fine and wished me a good day. I was impressed. The customer here ahead of me claims that a dealership told them they needed new rotors and brakes all around. The mechanic showed the customer and confirmed that this was way, way incorrect. I will keep coming here as long as they keep up the outstanding service and prices. read more

Replaced the radiator fan in my car but never checked for any leaks in the radiator hoses. I brought it in because the car was overheating. They said that the fan was not working and they would replace it. I checked around and the fan installation was overpriced and brake Masters. The fan work great but the car coolant system leak like a sieve. It is normal practice to do a pressure test on the radiator and coolant system to see if there are any other reasons that the car would be overheating. I had to go to a different auto shop to have the repairs made. I was very disappointed. read more

My mom took her 2000 Civic here a few weeks ago, and got a great deal getting her brakes fixed (about $200 cheaper for what she needed than what my mechanic BFF quoted as worst case), including a lifetime warranty on the brakes themselves. She also felt very at ease with Martin, the manager, and felt him very trustworthy and straightforward. Based off her reference, I took my 2003 Tundra in today after the oil filter exploded all over my engine. Martin and his colleague showed me how the filter that was put in at my last oil change was a cheap piece of faulty crap - the cap was bent, leaving it a ticking time bomb as to when it would blow. Turning it around from the point of impact back home drained my truck of oil completely, and left the engine at risk of blowing as well. Martin & his men replaced the oil filter, filled it with oil (basically an entire oil change) and let me know what to do in case of emergency, as well as tips on the aftermath. They did this all FOR FREE. From the time I rolled in, grill/engine coated in oil, to when he gave me the diagnosis and told me it was fixed and done was maybe 10-15 minutes flat ... quicker than an actual planned oil change at most of the shops I've taken my baby to in town. When Martin told me I didn't owe him anything I was FLOORED. Bottom line, I will be taking my truck here for whatever it needs for as long as we live here, and strongly recommending everyone I know do the same. Considering I was told I wouldn't need to return for the issue unless the worst case came up (engine blowing due to running out of oil), i.e. they didn't even know whether they would be getting my business again for sure, I am extremely impressed. read more

Wanted to take my vehicle here to have the brakes done. I started the conversation on the phone with my name, year make/model of car, and that my brakes needed to be done and were squealing. I asked when the soonest appointment I could come in to get this done and he told me that today at noon I could get in. I told him that's was great lets do it. He then asks me for my name, year make/model, and the problem I was having with the car... so I answered him, and chuckled because I truthfully thought he was joking around, after I started the phone call off with this information. He then says if your going to have attitude we're not going to do any work for you take it somewhere else, and then hung up on me. It's not difficult finding another shop to do the work, but I won't be giving this shop an opportunity to do any work to my vehicles. Employees like this, their lack of detail, and attitude even on the phone, will be a direct reflection on the type of work you can expect when you bring your vehicle in for work. And this line of work or service not done correctly can be a safety concern for you and your family. I love to support local businesses, but I'll drive an hour to the valley to ensure that I don't have to worry about my families safety. read more

I would leave ZERO stars if I could. Be very, very careful before getting your oil changed here. Unfortunately, they did not torque my drain plug and also left off the gasket which resulted in the drain plug falling out and my engine seizing on the highway. Oh and my car was brand new with only 9,000 miles on it. They did not take ANY responsibility for ANY of this and actually blamed me for going over the mileage a bit... however, we were told explicitly by several mechanics that this would have never happen if the oil change had been done correctly. I would have appreciated some empathy and understanding at the VERY least. Rather I was met with hostility and aggression from day one. Eric (owner) threatened to file a restraining order on me for calling and asking for a receipt... absolute trash. Roy (manager) and Eric are both disgusting, unprofessional and classless individuals. Not sure how they can sleep at night knowing how horrible they operate their business. read more

the employee behind the desk (owner?) would not stop yacking about how he is worth over $6M and that the best thing he ever did was divorce his wife, now he does what he wants. If you are into drag racing, this is the shop for you. the "30minutes or less" oil change took well over 75 minutes. waiting room is hot, no A/C, and not somewhere you want to spend time. The service (oil change) was done, but I will not be returning to this shop I would rather pay a few more bucks and support a shop I can respect and don't hear blathering about personal net worth and stance on marriage. *a few days after the oil change, car makes noise. turns out a piece of metal CLOSE to the oil filter was knocked free and resting on the radiator fan. read more

Absolutely the most honest and competent group of mechanics I've ever had the pleasure of working with! I recently moved from Prescott to Tucson. I needed to have some repairs done on my jeep and went to a local store. I was told the repairs would cost over $700.00! I called Brake Masters in Prescott and drove up from Tucson the next day. They fixed the problem for $95.00! I've been going to this brake masters for the four years that I've lived in Prescott and now that I'm in Tucson, I'll continue to drive to Prescott to have my jeep serviced!
