If the name of your business boldly implies how you treat your customers, you best do it & they do! Their quotes are fair, yet comprehensive, their attitude is (you guessed it) friendly and their work is prompt and well done. What more could you ask for? This year on Yelp I want to find all the good businesses in the area and highlight them and Friendly Automotive is one of the first that came to mind. Find them off of Ina Road, not too far from I-10. They're tucked into a hodge podge of small businesses. In business for 25 years in Arizona and take care of all makes & models of cars. Don't you wish all businesses were named for how they treat their clients? Life would be so easy. TLDR: Honest, friendly, stress free auto repair at fair price. Family yowned for 25 years.

The little touches that made them stand out are gone. They no longer provide a complimentary car wash after service, they let go of the driver who used to take customers home, and none of the management team that was there last year is still there. The entire atmosphere of the shop has changed, and not for the better. I explained to Fernando, the general manager, that my vehicle had mostly been sitting in my garage since July and that I wanted a routine service along with an inspection of a specific issue I had asked them to evaluate. Instead, I was sent an estimate for nearly $5,700 that didn't even address the repairs I specifically brought the car in for. Several items were marked as "critical," and the estimate instructed me to call with any questions. When I called to review the estimate, Fernando immediately responded, "Didn't you get the report I sent?" I explained that I had, but I'm not a mechanic and wanted someone to explain what the findings actually meant. He told me I needed both my front and rear suspension replaced because of the control arms. However, when I pointed out that the inspection report only said the manufacturer recommended the rear suspension and didn't identify it as a problem, he suddenly backed off and said it wasn't necessary at this time. The conversation became increasingly frustrating. His tone was pushy, dismissive, and argumentative. He accused me of having the vehicle serviced somewhere else in November and implied I hadn't maintained it properly. I explained that the car had been sitting in my garage from July until March and that the only reason it was seen elsewhere was because the battery died and needed to be replaced. He then insisted that I had been driving the car extensively because it had accumulated 2,000 miles. I had to explain that those 2,000 miles were driven over an entire year, which is actually very low mileage. At that point, I realized I was arguing with the person inspecting my car about facts that he could easily verify from the service records. That was enough for me. I sent the inspection report and estimate to a trusted friend who is an experienced mechanic in another state. He immediately told me that the quoted prices were roughly double what they should be and advised me not to have the work done there. I have since found another mechanic who treated me with respect, took the time to explain what my car actually needs and quoted much more reasonable prices.

In the process, they left their tools under the hud , oil still leaking. Took it back, supposedly fixed, got home oil still leaking. Took it back they broke cooling lines because they had problems put it back together but I got charged for the damage they caused, otherwise they wouldn't warranty the job , so I pay for. took home, next morning still leaking oil and now is also leaking coolant. Took it back they claim it was a different gasket seal ( 3er gasket now) and the cooling line that was leaking was a little loose. got Fixed. drove home and all my power windows started going up and down nonstop. The speedometer going up and down from 20-70 and greats panel displaying automatic shifting from Park to Drive to Reverse. Didn't even make home, we just took back. Now they refuse to honor their warranty or their own diagnostic which are not free. Just about $3000.00 Months without vehicle oil still leaking Coolant leaks now My speedometer is not functioning properly No warranty, no ethics, no responsibility They just lost a 10+ yrs customer

Verily easy to schedule on phone and went in next day. Greeted by Sean as I entered Sat- and just the nicest person to visit with as he got all set for me. My appt was at noon and although al the service itself was a tad delayed, it worked out well for me. I had a really nice waiting room with coffee choices and water available to get if wanted. TV in there but not on and truly all I need is phone to get things done. When appt was complete, I was already in lobby and Sean let me know only one tire guy there due to call outs and explained why it stretched a bit. It was fine, I understand and then as checking out, we chatted and spoke about the awesome rural places we both reside. He spoke of his family and way of life and that few minutes just made it so much more pleasant to get this necessity completed. I had seen great reviews on this BrakeMax - and when needed, it is where I will continue to go because of the service and value (same price as my rural places- which is great too!) I received. I made an appointment by phone in advance and dropped off my car in person for a quote on replacing 2 struts and for an oil leak dye test. I spoke with J. in the front office and I noticed he had the wrong car notes for my vehicle. I pointed this out and then we spoke for 10 minutes about the details of my car and what I brought it in for. I went over ongoing work on the car and told him specifically what has been or is already being done with the vehicle including the battery and valve gasket. I was assured that J. would check in my car and note the account for me, no call in required. Unfortunately, after 3 days when I was finally able to reach someone at the garage over the phone they sent me an email quoting me for another car's maintenance including work I did not request and work I specifically mentioned had already been done on my car. When I called them to correct the issue they were very hesitant to send me a fixed quote and were unable to answer simple questions about my car. The new quote included what I wanted but only had the information I had given when checking in the car with no additional information or a report of an oil leak test. I went in person to get to the bottom of what was happening and at this point they had my car for 1 week. The man at the front desk was incredibly defensive and aggressive about the situation, admitting he had written the wrong notes and that a oil check as I requested had not been performed because of the work that is still being done to the car as of when I brought it in. The state of the car and what I needed was made clear when I dropped it off and it had not been communicated that there was an issue. At this point, a number of things were said that I found worrying: "I would have charged you more had I known you wouldn't do more work with us," "it's an old car no point looking past the first issue," "we do not take pictures of our work at any stage," "we do not do written notes," and I was also questioned on why anyone would use more than one mechanic ever as if people do not move or have different types of vehicles at the very least. As the front desk man had caused some of the communication issues, I understand the defensiveness, but there was clear intimidation in the attitude and then after a long time a second man came in just to silently loom behind him the rest of the time, never contributing to the conversation and also unable to answer any of my simple questions about the vehicle. Very unfriendly and I am very unhappy with this experience so far. To be clear the quote for 2 front strut replacements was about $1450.00 on an older Toyota, and I decided to not do this work with them firstly because of the poor communication and note keeping this time. Secondly, they charge more than 2x market price for parts. The oil leak dye check has still not been performed but after much hem-hawing I was assured that I can bring my car in this next two weeks to do it, but was also told that it may take them several weeks to complete an oil leak test, which was not completed the first week they had the car. This is no regular timeframe. Who can wait over three weeks for just an oil leak test? Cost: $140. They said they "price similarly our neighbor, Borst Automotive, perhaps coming out a few dollars cheaper." Due to the unprofessionalism and poor state of vehicle on pick up inspection no longer comfortable doing business with Garner.

My review was neither defamatory or exaggerated, just that they told me to go somewhere else after I made an appointment. I had already called him and told him I was disheartened by his poor service and canceled my appointment so the email was unnecessary and completely petty, lending credibility to the notion that his initial refute was just as petulant. What a shame the owner would let his reputation suffer over something so stupid.

They have even on several occassions come to my home and picked up a vehicle rather than have me drive one with a potentially serious issue. They have also picked me up at home and driven me back. JT Auto took one look and basically said, "Yeah...no." Turns out we only needed the front brakes and rotors. Saving customers money instead of inventing repairs? That's a refreshing change. Now, they weren't perfect--and that's okay. The first hiccup was with our appointment. We were told to come in the next day at 10:30 a.m. because we planned to wait while the work was done. Somewhere along the way, the wrong day got written down. It was a little frustrating, but they got us back in the same day at 1:30 p.m., so it wasn't the end of the world. The second issue was the bill. I was quoted $380 cash for the front brakes/rotor (or $580 if we did front and rear). Since only the front needed to be done, I sent my husband to pick up the car. Somehow he ended up paying $540. One phone call later, they checked it, admitted the mistake, and immediately refunded the difference. Honestly, I think it was just that, a mistake. If they were trying to nickel-and-dime us, they could have simply agreed with the first shop and sold us rear brakes we didn't even need. Instead, they were honest about what actually needed to be fixed, and when a billing error happened, they made it right without any arguments. As a Consumer it's okay for a buissnesss to Error but a true moral factor of a business when brought to attention. We sure will be using them again. Thank JT Auto! Nobody's perfect, but honesty and standing behind your work go a long way. I'd definitely use JT Auto again.

They charged $160 for a diagnostic which would be fine except I gave them the report from AutoZone who had run a diagnostic hours prior. And typically when you do the work, a garage will then credit that diagnostic fee to the work being done. They charged $604 total after I protested about the spark plug parts cost. Originally they wanted $200 for the spark plugs part. After protesting, they charged $176 for the Spark Plugs (parts) alone. $240 for the labor and $160 to diagnose something that was already diagnosed. When I told them the max fee for spark plus is $50, (I'm ok with companies marking-up costs but not at over 240%), they gave me $40 off. Still an astronomic cost for changing spark plugs, especially in Tucson. They did give me my car back in 1 day though, which I appreciated.

I've had them do the following to my 2019 F-150: cold air intake, 4 shocks, alignment, spark plugs, ATF replacement, brake fluid flush, partial coil replacement (the Ford dealer I know would have done all six), reset my transmission. I an positive that the local Ford dealer would have hammered me for what turned out to be a $650 job. Probably over $2000. Highly recommended, I will not go anywhere else.
