Went in for an oil change, second time here. It always takes 3hours... Since when does an oil change take that long? 15, 20 minutes tops dudes. Anyways, they told me, along woth the other two people in front of me, that we ALL needed our rear breaks re-done. Likely story that all THREE of us needed the same exact repair! On top of it all, they did not reset my oil light still reads I need an oil change. AND they put a sticker on my car saying I need another oil change in 3,000 miles or March! Took my vehicle to get an alignment. They inspected the car and said I needed new lower control arms and arms on the rear of the vehicle in order to do the alignment. Had the parts changed and took it back, they aligned the vehicle. One of the guys seemed irritated that I paid another place to change out the arms. Drove it home and the wheel was about 30 degrees to the driver side when driving straight, had to take it back to get it adjusted. Not sure if they test drove the vehicle after the alignment. I realize mistakes can happen but driving on 380 with a steering wheel that far off is a little dangerous. read more

My boyfriend and I spent a whole day replacing upper a arms, hub actuators, etc. We went into Brakes Plus for an alignment. Steven and Joel tried to sell us parts they claimed were necessary for alignment. They quoted us at $340 BEFORE the cost of the alignment. We knew extra parts were not necessary, so we declined services and left. While sitting in the truck, Joel came out to say he was mistaken and the parts were only half what he quoted. So even after my boyfriend made it known that we knew additional parts were not necessary they STILL tried to make the sale. Moral of the story: don't go to Brakes Plus in Aubrey, TX. They'll try and sell you things you don't need. P.S. the parts that were quoted are only $60 at O'Reilly's. read more

My husband had sat for nearly 2 hours at another location before leaving without service despite having an appointment. He came to the Aubrey location and asked if he could get his car looked at seeing as the break wear light was on. The service staff was honest with him in that they couldn't take care of him on the timeline he needed on Saturday. (They were swamped with their grand opening celebration; completely understandable!) He was told to bring it by at 8 am on Monday. Well, here I am at 8 am on Monday and they've been attentive, helpful in explaining what needed to be done on the car, and for a reasonable price. I went here to get my brakes rotors and pads replaced in he front. The first call I spoke with GM, he told me to come in and just see what can be done. I came in and obviously that communication did not go to anywhere else. The guy Joel was gonna charge $400 to do it. I said no thank you and then GM came out and and the number went down to 141. Now as appetitive as I am for the price and them fixing it the haggling for a better price was not a good experience. If that's the case let me talk you down to 0. During inspection he gave explained some other issues and said those issues would be 300. Specifically for fixing my cv axle. Charging 300 I said no went home. Found a 10x better price from another mechanic and on top of that he came to my home. After the gym asked me about it he said why didn't you let us do it. I said you were to expensive. He said we could have worked a number, but as he says that he never fixed the number. I even asked him about it again while he was driving me home and $300 was the number there were going with. DO YOUR RESEARCH WHEN IT COME TO MECHANICS AND ALL. They are ways of doing a lot of these things inexpensively and still get a great job on it. Overall my experience was a 4. They did great, great pricing, great shuttle service and obviously the ability to haggle price just to make sure your car get fixed. I'll def go back but I'm haggling every price they give me and only paying what I want. I'll never pay the price they tell me it is. read more

Worked with Justin on alignment and an oil change. Told him that we were aware of the check engine light but to ignore it as we were planning on selling the car soon. 10 mins before they closed Justin called and TBH I was expecting the standard lecture on how I need to fix every little thing outside of what I brought it in for. To my surprise he don't mention any of the known issues, instead explained that the main issue with the alignment had a very expensive list to get it fully fixed but also said he could get it in working order long enough for me to sell it for the original quote. Got there 20 after close and the car was ready and were still open. Can't express enough how good the service was there. Never been to a more honest auto shop. Will def be my go to for everything they offer. Keep it up!! read more

The Brakes Plus team at this location has restored my trust in the auto repair industry. Brought my car in for an oil change. I was alerted to a pretty significant safety issue with badly warn ball joints and control arms. They talked me through the repair and offered to perform the work if my Ford warranty approved them. I ended up taking the car to Ford and got a run-around to the point I refused to leave my car for repairs. The warranty work was approved for Brakes Plus. They took my car in and got the work done. I assumed that I would need shocks as well, to my surprise they said ""they look good, don't need to be replaced". That's trust. Other shops would have talked me into more needless repairs. I had been needing Struts and Shocks on my 2012 Hyundai for a few months and had been completely dreading getting it fixed because I've had pretty bad experiences in the area. I had called a few places for quotes and time estimates, to get 'just bring it in and we'll take a look at it' understanding that I can't an exact quote without them looking at my actual car- one place refused to give me any quote for parts or service over phone. I was told my car was "too new" to be needing such services at other places. When I came to Brakes Plus, I was treated with respect and courtesy. I got in 45 minutes before they closed because I couldn't get off of work any earlier and they looked at the car, said I was right and gave me a quote and even offered payment options within 30 mins. They even offered to drive me home and pick me up as a part of their regular service. Being I came right before closing and it was rush hour I had them drop me off at the closest Walmart and waited for my ride, but they took me after they had closed so they could work on it first thing the next day. I scheduled service for the next day and everything went great. I don't know much about the payment options because I paid outright, but it was nice they have those options. My car rides great now and I have a lifetime warranty on my parts and 6 months/6,000 mile on labor. Will definitely come here again. read more

I just got a wheel alignment done here and I am 100% satisfied. They use the latest hunter alignment machines which are the best which does 4 wheel and thrust alignment. My steering wheel was misaligned off center and has been that way since my last set of tires where I had another shop do the alignment and they couldn't straighten the wheel for some reason. I am generally very tentative with chain shops like this. However, it was my first time at a brakes plus and if others are like this one I would go. The guys currently working there are good. My husband brought his car in to have the alignment fixed. The technician looked over the car and then told him that it wouldn't be possible to fix the alignment unless they also replaced the shocks and struts. He quoted us $1200. We decided to get a second opinion before committing to that price. We took the car to another mechanic who, upon inspection, said the shocks and struts were in great condition and didn't need to be replaced. We left with the alignment done for under $100. While the staff here was very friendly, I'm quite disappointed in the amount of money we were quoted for unnecessary service. read more
