Total scam! I went to go get my brakes replaced, and this place quoted me a grand saying that my calibers were promoting uneven pad wear and that they have to order parts from the dealership! Oh also they used scare tactics saying how my car is unsafe to drive and I could have an accident driving my vehicle. I instantly went elsewhere to get a second opinion, and my rotors and pads just needed to be replaced. Absolutely ridiculous how this place will try to scare their clients just cause they see a young female. Please go elsewhere if you care about your wallet. read more

Ask For The New Manager Mike! I was also a very disappointed customer 5 months ago at this location. After paying $800 for new brakes only for my "brake" light to still be on. Called numerous times and they tried convincing me nothing was wrong. Well, it's time for an inspection and the brake light is failing me. I once again returned today to this same location and was ready for a battle! The new manager Mike told me they didn't replace my back sensor my previous visit, apologized and replaced it for FREE!!! My 1st experience would of been 1 star, but this guy made up for their prior poor performance. I walked out with my car fixed and didn't pay a dollar- no up selling or trying to convince me I need any extras. Super helpful staff. Accidentally messed with the brake fluid while changing my own brakes and these guys absolutely saved the day. Nick was the serviceman who got us checked in and was able to provide a ton of information about what might be wrong and gave an extremely honest and upfront estimate. My son purchased an old van from a guy who lied about its condition. It had multiple problems. I initially told him to take it somewhere just to have a five point oil change. After trying several different places that had long lines, he landed on Brakes Plus. While conducting the oil change, they discovered issues with the brakes and cooling system that had been covered up by the previous owner. Initially, I thought they were just adding things to do like a lot of shops have done, but after talking to the guys, I realized they genuinely wanted to make sure they did all they could to provide my son with a safe driving vehicle. I came in on Friday after Thanksgiving to get my brakes checked prior to going on a road trip and they find an issue with my brakes and repaired them and got my truck back to 100%. They took every opportunity to overcharge me. They tried to get me to buy parts and services I didn't need. They quoted me one and a half hours to repair but took them three and a half hours. The price they quoted me was higher than their advertised price (tacked on hidden fees). Then was even higher than the estimate i approved when I picked up my vehicle. Then they overcharged me again after I swiped my credit card to check out. Horrible experience. Consumers beware. read more

Best way to communicate my trust and appreciation for this facility is I send my daughters here. They service all four of our family vehicles and unquestionably earn our business and respect. Pricing is far better than the dealership for routine maintenance. They honor appointment times and offer free wireless and complimentary beverages in their waiting area. Took my 2006 Honda Pilot for AC repair. They gave me a quote for $1900 to repair my AC. I took the car for a 2nd estimate in Irving and mechanic repaired it for $200. It was just electrical nothing wrong with AC compressor or leaks. These guys are extreme rookies stay away unless you have deep pockets. read more

I got my oil changed here and I had no problems with that but when i paid they gave me suggested things to get done on my car also, one being my brake system flushed & nothing had been wrong with my gears prior to going here (and I drive a honda civic so it's pretty reliable) but about 6 hours later I notice my gears are stiff and I can hardly get my car out of Park and I wasn't having this problem before. I think because i'm young they took advantage of me and did something so I would return and pay for more services but I will definitely NEVER be returning and I advise no one to come here, just go to your dealership because that's what I should of done but I wanted to save time and now i'm gonna be out of so much money . read more

They had my car for 8 hours today just for and engine light check and to replace a light bulb and i was told it would only take 1-2 hours.They totally forgot about my car and NEVER replaced the light bulb. We always come here to get out car fixed. They always have excellent customer service. Many places don't have what you call an, "honest mechanic". We are always pleased with the honesty here. The mechanic is not out to get your money, they will let you know their honest opinion and accept any decision you decide to make with your car. The mechanic is always looking out for the best interests of us, and even let's us know what the most possible bare minimum (cheapest) of service that can be done. And for those of us who don't really know about cars, it's nice to have a mechanic who can be honest. I would ALWAYS recommend this Brakes Plus to friends and family to get and honest examination of their vehicle done. Wait time is very short in the morning times. My husband's brakes went out on his truck a couple weeks ago. We knew that we needed someone to fix his brakes that we could trust. As soon as we spoke with someone at Brakes Plus, we knew we were in good hands. They called us with updates so we didn't have to worry, and even stayed 2 hours after they closed to finish working on his truck. They eventually called with bad news, and the total work ended up costing us more than we wanted. Cesar is AMAZING! I highly recommend Brakes Plus solely based on my recent experience with Cesar. I went to a different service center for a simple oil change and was told that I immediately needed 4 new brake pads and rotors because of how worn down they were which would cost me $700... Before paying $700 I decided to get a second opinion. This is where Cesar came in and saved my day! He offered to give me a free inspection with his honest, genuine advice. After inspecting my car, he found that my rotors didn't need replacing (just resurfacing) and that new brakes were in my near future, but not nearly as urgent as the other shop made it seem. I went ahead and replaced my 4 brake pads and did a brake flush which cost me right under $300. I cannot thank Cesar enough for not only saving me $400 today, but for his overall professionalism. If you have an upgraded vehicle (not original in any way) don't take it to these guys. They have "brakes" in their name, so one would assume they could handle any brake issue. That was definitely not the case. Brake issue was described to them in detail. They had to wait until their "primary technician" came back to work the next day. Once he arrived, he couldn't figure out what was wrong, and his best recommendation was to reinstall factory original parts. If you need real diagnosis and mechanical work done on an upgraded vehicle, I suggest finding a real MECHANIC (like guys who restore classic cars) - not a technician who was smart enough to pass the test and graduate from Brakes Plus technician school. read more

Had an appointment for 9 am to replace my front brakes. Took an hour just to get an estimate which I was told would only take a few minutes. I was told it would take 1.5 hours to do the work. When it wasn't done they told me 20 more minutes. This went on until they finally finished 3.5 hours after my appointment time. The problem isn't only that it took such a long time but that there wasn't any communication from them despite me sitting in their waiting room with my 2 year old. I had to ask for every false update. If something comes up that will make the job take longer then come tell me. And don't tell me that the entire job should take about 1.5 hours if you can't even get close to that time. I won't be returning. read more

I can't say enough for how helpful the guys here were. I brought my car in for an alignment ($50, great price) and the starter failed. The guys here not only pulled the part for me, but they also pushed the car into the bay, and then installed the new one for less that $100. About 3-4 months ago, I had my car serviced at Brakes Plus in Little Elm. The attendant rang up my order but forgot to add a coupon I provided that I received in mail. He told me that couldn't redo the order so he gave me a business card that included a 30 discount on my next service. I begrudgingly accepted it but it was hard to believe he couldn't have simply nulled the ticket and reentered the ticket. I returned 2 weeks ago and presented the business card with the discount that should have been applied to my previous visit. I also brought in a new 7.00 dollar coupon in that I pulled from the Brake plus website. The attendant wouldn't honor it. He told me they were already losing money on the deal. Absolutely wonderful place. I have a 1986 Chevy C20, and Sunday the front brake got stuck on in the QT parking lot right next door. They're closed Sunday, so I put the info on the key drop, put the keys in, and stuffed it all in the box. Monday morning, called them up, they already had the truck in and on the lift! They were friendly and fun on the phone, yet not unprofessionally, extremely personable and nice to talk with. Actually, entertaining and funny to talk with. The prices they quoted me were amazing. I had looked up parts for the brakes earlier, and all the prices they quoted me were pretty much the exact same! A few parts were a My truck ended up needing new front brake rotors, pads, and hardware, and rear brake drums, shoes, and hardware, along with a full system flush and new fluid. I had them replace the engine belts as well, as they were old and rotted and cracking. Total cost was just under $1100, out the door. In fact, when they called me and gave me the price quote, they forgot to mention that the front rotors needed to be replaced - so they did those for no cost. They had it finished by Tuesday, even though it's a 1986 and the rear drums were stuck! Whatever other car repairs come up, I'll be taking it here. Between the wonderful pricing, service, and quick finish time, this place has my business for sure. read more

By the way, my complaint has been acknowledged (but disregarded) but not only the Little Elm location, but by the Brakes Plus corporation. Honest, professional and customer focused service. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. I went in because I thought I need new brakes because I felt a slight grinding sensation when I tapped on the brakes. Not wanting to wait til I heard screeching or felt a stronger grind causing serious damage and potentially costing more, I went in. They checked my car and determined that I still had about 50% of my pads left. The likely culprit was a small rock that got lodged in there and caused that sensation I was feeling. No charge for them to check! Wow, this is a business with integrity. I thought that those were extinct. They have earned my trust and respect. I will take my car there from now on and have confidence that I won't be taken advantage of. This is especially important to me as a female with very little car knowledge. I am not a mechanic or an expert in automotive...just an ordinary customer. I have been to this location two times. Once for new brakes and this month for struts/shocks on my 2004 car. I thought the prices were fair and waited both times for specials/coupons. (I checked prices at two other places as well. The dealership was outlandish.) At the recent visit, I thought it was time for an oil change, had a coupon for one, and asked them to do it at the same time as the more major work. After checking my oil, I was told I didn't need an oil change yet. How many places would actually tell you that? Usually it's the other way around, and the customer is told unneeded services should be performed.
