Really fair pricing, they value customer loyalty and give discounts to show for it, really professional staff, great experience overall. When I had my vehicle towed into your business I expressed the hesitation when I breaked and the light pinking under the hood , u called my on that Monday and said u would change the oil out fye in the oil to find out were it was coming from then u would run it in a test drive When u called me back it was expressed to me that it was the oil gasket and also suggested that u have another mechanic look at it due to ge was more familiar with hummers becuse he had too of them I was told when I got there that everything was fine it runs and I paid for it I did ask about the sound and needed another appointment to bring it back I was so happy I even brought them breakfast at my expenses 97 dollars When I got in my car u wasn't even halfway down the block when I noticed a banging sound in my engine that it was as if a sledge hammer was hitting my hood I went back again and said u told me it was drive able and it didn't sound this was when I brought it to you I got it out of there lot and towed it to another mechanic and after five hours of checking it over it was now looking at a cracked block 5000 thousand worth of damage that was not there when it was towed but was evident when I got it back first of all a light pinking did not compare to this sound it was making When u put that kind of stress on a car during ur test drive I relaxed on you yo know the damage it could of caused U expressed it was fine and fixed and it was not the honest truth by no means I'm saddened that u cracked my block and didn't mention anything but to say it fixed and all good when it wasn't And yet manny has alway spoke to me the manager and this time nothing What happened between my drop off and ur fixing it and letting my think it was fine when it wasn't u clearly put me in danger if I hit the highway We make mistakes but rushing someone out of your office so u can negate the problem and damage u did while in your position was shameful As a manager when mistakes happen how ever great or small women or man it fell on you to find the honesty in and learn by it so going forward it doesn't happen again we relay on u and the business u represent to do what's right !'n I will be going to BBB and filing with the district attorney I won't let it go U cost me my believe that just becuse I'm a women I hold u responsible!!! read more

I have an old Yukon that had warped rotors - considered refreshing the brakes myself (new rotors and pads) but on inspection the manager at the shop - Ruben - came up with a. great solution - machine the existing rotors and replace the pads - 12 months warranty - extremely cost effective and I avoided spending a day under my vehicle - v happy overall. I will return with my disparate fleet of old vehicles - no doubts. read more

Dropped my car off for an alignment and when I returned 45 mins. later I was told quite a story. Manager said that "someone" had put on a bolt so tightly that they couldn't get it off and that the car was so messed up ( said back rear tire must have been hit) that they couldn't perform an alignmnet. Said an alignment wouldn't help for all of the things wrong with it and that I should go to a body shop. My car has never been hit and had no visible damage! Took my car to the dealership and they told me that whoever had tried to do an alignment had no clue about what they were doing and had even left one of the wheels barely attached. The mechanics at the dealer did the alignment and my car is fine! Never EVER go to the Brakes Plus on Remington! read more

I brought in my truck for some routine maintenance. Typically, an agent will come out to talk to you with the "While we were doing the work on your vehicle, we also found this..." and then will give you a list of stuff for them to take care of while you are there. It puts you on the spot and I typically will give a 'Sure, might as well" response. This time, however, I said 'absolutely not', when I saw what they were going to charge me to change out my transfer case oil (just over $450, including about $380 for two gallons of gear oil). My transfer case requires only *one quart* of this oil, which runs about $25 in most shops. They also quoted me a price on a refurbished power steering pump which was well over 3x the average market price. You should be able to go into one of these shops with some level of trust that the employees are looking out for your best interests, but in my case that trust eroded quickly and in the most disgusting way. Beware! Do your research! read more

Received a call that the oil pan drain plug had been put in too tight and that proceeding may cause damage and require replacement of the oil pan! Told them to cease the service and promptly picked up the vehicle and took it to the mechanic who had performed the previous oil change. Brakes Plus still tried to charge me $131 for the oil change! The other mechanic said the plug came right out with a spanner and, unprompted, asked if I'd been warned out encountering an oil pan replacement. Highly suspect! 2nd incident I've had at this Brakes Plus and I'll NEVER set foot in the Remington Pl (Ken Caryl) location again!!! read more

I had purchased the parts on my own and had run out of time to replace them to get this vehicle ready for snow season. When the inner tie rods I had brought in were the incorrect part, Devin called me and offered a sameday solution at a fair price. BRAKES PLUS REMINGTON IS THE BEST!!! We took our vehicle to Midas for a quote. Midas took a check from Car Shield and sent them an invoice saying the work was done. We did not know that as we did not leave the car there but went to BRAKES PLUS REMINGTON. Ruben talked to Car Shield and told them the work was not done. He gave us an honest quote and saved us hundreds of dollars that Midas was basically trying to steal. Midas called and said they would issue a check when they felt like it and hung up on us. BRAKES PLUS REMINGTON IS A GOD SEND. They are fair, honest and have class. The work was done in one day and the car runs beautifully. First time coming to this location and they were EXCEPTIONAL! Steven and Alex were awesome! I highly recommend this location of Brakes Plus. I have a Range Rover and they got me in on a Saturday last minute and all squared away on everything I needed within the timeframe I needed. WOW!!!! Called at 330 to get a free break check. They said if we could come in by 430 then they'd have it evaluated by the time they closed at 6. They ended up calling me back by 5 and said they could replace the back breaks by the time they closed. Wow that's fast! They even had a few cars in the bay and were somehow able to get mine in and replace both back breaks with a lifetime warranty for around $225. Thank you! read more

Can't say enough positive things about my experience at this location and another brakes plus in Colorado Springs. My wife and I drove to CO for the holidays from Seattle and the coolant system decided to poop it's pants. The location in Colorado Springs gave us a free diagnosis and made sure we were safe to hit the road after not being able to find an issue. Once the car acted up again we immediately called the nearest Brakes Plus and the manager, Devin, acted quickly to look at the issue. He accessed the diagnostic information from our previous visit at the other location and he and his team were able to quickly find the problem and solve it to get us back on the road home. The service was quick and they seemed to take personal interest in our situation. On top of all that, the total price for the assessment and hours of work was beyond reasonable and we are leaving feeling happy and safe on the road. Thank you Devin and team! My husband and I have been to this location before for an oil change and everything has been great, felt like I wasn't hassled to spend more and friendly staff. Recently my husband and I's truck had been having issue with what we thought was the battery but weren't quite sure, it was one of those unexplainable problems that we just did not know. We brought it and again, super friendly staff and felt welcomed so we leave it to be diagnosed. We get a call later from the owner I believe Rueben and he explains to us what's going on with the truck. The great part is he went above and beyond to find us the answers because again they weren't obvious, he did research and found out it's basically a recall from Ford that we were never notified on. He gave us a print out of what yo show them and the diagnosis he found and told us to contact them so we can get it covered. We were so very thankful for his assistance and going above and beyond and honestly that we want everyone to know what great service we have had here and will definitely be back!! I wish I could give this place negative or no stars. Called and made an appointment for a transmission flush on a Saturday morning, get there and find out that my appointment was never entered into the system. Spoke with a very rude man, can't remember his name, who treated me like I was an idiot. He promised to squeeze me in and that they would have my transmission flushed by the promised time later that afternoon. A couple hours later, I receive a call from someone there saying that they never even looked at my car. Terrible, TERRIBLE company. Don't recommend. read more

We love this place! Kevin, the manager has been professional, friendly, efficient, honest and competent on the two occasions we were there. The first time was a mystery, as our beloved, low mileage 1995 Ford van developed brake problems that defeated another mechanic's best efforts for over a month. The guys at this garage did everything they could to recreate the problems, but honestly told us that after hours of diagnostics, test-driving and assessments, they could find nothing wrong -- guess everything we replaced worked after all, but they could have taken us for a fortune. Instead, they refused to charge us a dime! We brought it back for an air conditioning check-up and recharge, which cost less than we anticipated, and they allowed our dog to wait with us in the air conditioned lobby. It is mind-blowing reading the negative reviews. Can't believe it's the same place!!! We would trust these guys more than the dealers' service centers!!!! I have been to this Brakes Plus store twice in the last 6 months. the first time I needed my brakes done. I didn't know you had to have an appointment. The person I had the interaction with, I believe his name is Vince. He is an older person. I don't know if he doesn't like women, racsits or what his deal is. Comes off as rude. So, as I said I don't know about making an appt. So, he's like we don't have time to do it today, I have to schedule an appointment. The next available was like a weekday and I'm like I work, so ended up booking for that next Saturday. But his whole demeanor was just stand-offish. I had my son with me, and my son even said he was rude. So today 12/11/22 I thought I needed an alignment cuz my steering wheel kind of wiggles when breaking. Had tires rotated and my other son did the pads I guess. So we go in for my appt @ 3 and he can't find me in the system. He's like is it under another phone number and have him a different number, he says it says I was an existing customer. I'm like no I canceled my appt. So I said had the appt for the alignment. He asked what is the car doing and I told him. He said that sounds like the brakes. I said my son did them and he like well I need to go a diagnostic foe 60 dollars and then what the cost of the brakes. And before that I said can we do the brakes now, thinking I already had an appt. He's like oh no. We don't have time for that. Then he tells me the diagnostic fee and I said you're gonna charge me 60 bucks to see and the the cost of the breaks. I'm like forget it and walked out. Again the whole time he was rude and just a plain a jerk. I will never go back there and I think the whole thing is a rip off other places will do a brake check for free! read more

Seriously don't take your vehicle here. These guys barely know what a wrench is. I took my vehicle in for an alignment. I explicitly said that everything related to steering was intentionally left loose (I had completely rebuilt my steering and alignment was the last part) so that they didn't have to spend hours fighting to get tie rod ends loose to adjust. Still had a vibration and took it to a second shop where they found the loose bolts. I even paid to get the steering wheel aligned. He got it within 1/4 turn of center and gave up. The 2nd shop had it done in 10 minutes. I will also add that after they had the vehicle for over 4 hours, the manager (who had been the one working on the vehicle) said "It's aligned but will only turn 1/4 turn of the steering wheel to the left." I didn't even have to look at the vehicle to know that he installed the steering stabilizer wrong and that's why it wouldn't turn to the left. Sad when I know more about fixing it than the mechanic I'm paying. On a side note, I had another vehicle here recently for brakes (pads and turning rotors). I agreed to their lifetime pads. Don't do it. These pads suck. Yeah they may last forever but they are so hard they don't stop as well. read more

I was really impressed with the the service I received at Brakes Plus today. My brakes were making some weird noises, so I took it in for a free check to see what was going on. Making an appointment was easy and quick, and I had a call back within an hour. I felt the pricing was extremely fair, and they didn't push anything on me. Even better, they started with the lower package price, as that's what fit my budget. I expected them to tell me my rear brakes needed replacing, but they were completely honest and said I didn't need them for another 10k miles...maybe even more! This entire company is based on a "bait and switch" business model. I stopped in and asked for a quote and they said $99 per axle for new pads and resurfacing of my rotors. (This was without an inspection.) Then, when I took it in for the work, the price rose to over $500. They said that my rotors were below minimum acceptable. (This is how they upcharge the brake job). I took my car to the local DEALER garage and they said that I didn't even need pads! I then took it to a mechanic friends home and he took the tires off and SHOWED me that the brake pads were still good. When I pressed the owner, he showed me what looked like a spark plug gap measuring tool, and said that that was how low my brake pads were. NOT! read more

I am absolutely shocked to see good reviews on this place after what happened to my fiancé car. He has a 3 year old Outlander Sport that is well kept and taken care of. He went to get his brake pads checked. He was told they were all under 3mm, so he should get them replaced. He was originally quoted around $250. He then received a call saying it would cost $500 to do the work. Fine he said "go ahead and do it". He was also told it would be done that day. He then gets a call several hours later stating that the rear caliper had exploded. They said it was a bad part and just happened. And they didn't cause it. Sounds crazy right!!!! Then they tried to claim the part was recalled but all of the recalls on our car had been taken care of. We spoke with Mitsubishi and this part was not recalled! They were trying place blame! It was horrible, our car was trapped there and no one was taking responsibility for what happened. Upon further research, we found out that a caliper explosion had to be caused by a person working in that area of the car. When we brought that up, they still back pedaled and would just apologize. Long story short. We had to pay for everything, charged us for the part and they waived the labor. Our car was trapped there for 6 days. We had to deal with borrowing cars and having a very stressful week. And $754 for the caliper and $480 for the brakes. I am shocked. This was by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will be reporting this on every review board out there and the Better Business Bureau as well. I am also going as high as I can to corporate to make sure this doesn't happen again!!!! I am still in shock. This place is dishonest!!!! It is very sad! We are just lucky we had the money. I have been bringing my vehicles here for well over ten years. I have had a lot of different work done on my vehicles- oil changes, brakes, alignment, coolant flushes, O2 sensors replaced, etc. I have always felt that they were up front and honest about what needed to be repaired and what could wait. I have also felt that the pricing was fair- I have taken a quote and price matched it and usually they come in below others or very darn close. I have worked with the manager Kevin a lot and he will always wiggle a bit on price for me- which makes me feel better. They are running a business so they can't do it for free- but if I get a bit knocked off, it makes me feel a bit better, as no one really likes to have to shell out money to fix and maintain a car. Right?!? And my luck is always both cars go down at once because they are the same age- so twice the money in a short span. A few years ago my Saturn's check engine light came on and the repairs were made. To make a very long story short, the engine light continued to come on for many months after and no one could figure out why. I took the car to multiple shops, nothing. The dealership ended up having it for eight full days trying to diagnose the issue. Since Saturn's are no longer made, that dealership only had two technicians who had been with Saturn and knew the cars well. Finally the random issue was fixed. I went back to Brakes Plus and we discussed what the issue had been, just so they knew too- in case something like that ever came up with another person's car. Kevin was very nice about the whole issue and actually refunded me what I felt was a fair amount for my time and frustration. I know they were as frustrated too and they spent a lot of man power with my car, in which they did not charge me because it was under warranty. I really appreciated that Kevin took that extra step to take care of me as a customer. I have always had a good experience and also appreciate that they can usually get me into the shop on a very short notice. I tend to wait until the last minute to make appointments and they always work with me- letting me know if they will need the car for the whole day (as in, they are super booked and are just trying to squeeze me in) or if they can do it in a few hours. They usually look over the car too and let me have a general idea of other things that might turn into issues in the near future so that I can start to plan for them. read more

I had a problem related to a bad catalytic converter (CEL P0430). They did a diagnostic service and found a bad PVC valve connection and fixed it. At the same time they convinced me that the catalytic converter was really bad and needed to be replaced. It turns out that the CEL cleared itself automatically, indicating that the catalytic converter was identifying some oil due to the bad PVC valve. They fixed this issue, but at the same time they misled me and quoted me with $2,800 for something I did not need. Dishonest and fraudulent service, beware! read more
