They did not skimp on the matcha - it was fresh, tasted amazing, and was the perfect compliment to the fresh strawberry puree. My coconut haze latte again had top knotch flavor. It's in a great location in downtown Fort Worth and is a beautiful space. It's peaceful, it's meditative, and there's lofi hip-hop bumping through the speakers. On my quiet comedown, it was exactly what I needed. I ordered their spring menu's White Rose Latte out of curiosity. There were actual roses in it. They aren't liars. I got it hot like I typically do, and the one-man band running the shop was on top of it. The coffee was pretty good. It had a solid balance of milk to espresso, and the flavors didn't overpower the espresso like a lot of coffee shops try to do. You can tell they know their ratios when it comes to pulling the perfect shot. Good energy is what you want after a city run, and good energy is what Sons of Liberty Coffee provided.

The table next to us wasn't as patient - they got up and left after waiting for at least ten minutes, if not fifteen, for someone, anyone, to come and acknowledge their presence. This was our second time there, and it was just as slow as it was about two year's ago. My advice: go there if you want to sit and eat with a nice view of the Trinity River and you have no place to be for a good 60-90 minutes. Otherwise, go elsewhere for coffee or breakfast/lunch where the pace of the service is reasonable and realistic.

But a simple request for lemon with water seemed to be too much for our initial server, who passed us off to someone else. By the time we left, three different servers had been at our table. Still, I sat there holding onto the hope of warm grits and a lovely breakfast. What arrived instead was a bowl of watery liquid with tiny remnants that may have once dreamed of becoming grits, but never quite achieved it. The photo says it all: what I received was more like a memory of grits, floating in hot water.
