Love the clothes but hate the employees. I went in and not one person assisted me. When I asked if they had a certain item, the sales associate looked at me as if I were speaking another language and she said no very rudely. A simple "no, I'm sorry, we do not have that" would have sufficed. There was no one tending to the fitting room because the staff were huddled together chit chatting. Then when I asked to try my items on, the person was so extremely rude that although I loved everything in my arms, I set everything down and walked out. I will never come back got his location. A few weeks ago, I shopped with my granddaughter at BM. She knew exactly what she wanted, we went to the counter to check out. The cashier stuffed a pair of sweat pants & sweatshirt in one small bag. I asked if she had another bag...she took out another small bag...& stuffed one of the pieces in that. Really...two small bags with the clothing shoved in...not folded, mind you...& then gave me the ugliest stare. Everyone was unfriendly...and the cashier was rude beyond belief! We proceeded to go to Nortdstrom & found something darling...the clerk asked if we wanted it gift wrapped...WHAT? Giftwrapped...never mind folded nicely?! I like the designs of the shirts and whatnot, but I wasn't impressed with the quality. The style reminds me of urban outfitters & free people, but with less color. The employees here are freaking snobby though. No hello or anything when people walk in. This one worker just stood in the corner of the store and texted on her cell phone. SMH. Basically what you read about Brandy Melville on Yelp reflects them. No, it's not going to change. Soooo, in a nutshell Everything is "one size fits all" except for denim. Breaking it down GENERALLY: Basic tanks are usually XS-S Tees will fit XS-S; non fitted ones will fit L. Dresses: XS-M Sweaters: S-L (depending on the style) Skirts: XS-S, Luma skirts will fit M. Bottoms: If you're over a size 5 probably won't fit into their demin/pants. They used to carry size 44 which will fit a 5/7, but now it's 42, and 42's run even smaller now. Anything graphic will fit XS-L. The clothes are super cute, prices of tops will range from around $17ish to $35. Sweaters/pants are more expensive. Most expensive things in the store will be around $70. They are super soft, thin, and comfortable. Some clothing are purposely distressed and will have tiny holes in it!! Yes the clothing is delicate - don't attempt to put them in the washer or dryer unless you don't mind risking damage to your Brandy. Always hand wash in COLD water and lay flat to dry (so the clothes don't stretch). The store will be messy because things are folded on tables and the job of the SA on the floor is to fold clothes. They try to fold everything but people just pick them up again and it's a cycle of folding clothes lol. Customer service will be how you imagine it to be while reading the reviews. SA's will try to help you as much as possible. They can be rude, but keep in mind they have to fold clothes all day because it's their store policy. Not so fun after folding clothes all day long. Brandy's stock is what you see on the floor. If they don't have it out, they won't have it period. Don't expect much from the cashiers. They will ask you if you know the return policy, and check you out. Some cashiers are nice and will try to talk to you, some will slam your bag on the table. Don't try to ask them about product or something else you need because they won't be able to help you and it'll turn out to be a hassle for them and customers get grumpy when they have to wait too long. Return/Store Policy: 14 days to return for store credit. Final sale on accessories or anything discounted. You can use store credit and any store. You can make exchanges at any store. read more

Beware!!!! If you're buying online from Brandy Melville they will not let you make a straight return in-store even if the items are unworn with tags and you have a receipt. They will only give you a store credit or exchange...which is useless for me since my 13yo is too small for their clothes. Now I have to eat the shipping and return costs. No other store does this. Went to wait for the fitting room and the two girls working there didn't say a single WORD to the customers waiting in line (which was quite long btw). Not a single "thank you for waiting", or "it'll be just a moment". Instead they decided to talk about their hair. One girl with short wavy blonde hair was even so rude as to walk between my friend and I as we were talking, bumping directly into myself, and didn't even say excuse me. went shopping after my shift, going to just look around brandy cause they have good basics. i picked up two pants and a top to try on. went to the dressing room and the girl asked me to leave my bag outside the fitting room which i understood, i know people steal that way all the time. i left it outside with no problem. all three items ended up working out so i left the dressing room but was stopped by the girl working the fitting rooms confirming i had all three items still. i went to the cash register and the girl who checked me out was super sweet and smiley, something rare for brandy employees. she checked me out, i paid, and tried to leave until i got stopped at the door by this other girl saying they were doing random bag checks. i opened up my bag of clothes i had just bought. then she asked to check my other bag, the one i left outside the fitting room while trying on. multiple girls working were giving me dirty looks the whole time i was shopping in the store. was my outfit not up to par that u thought i was stealing?? awesome!!! i literally work at this mall and am a decent person, i'm not gonna steal lmao. also another thing to add was they were changing their floor set during business hours, no big deal, but all the workers moving piles of clothes nudge past the shoppers with no excuse me or sorry or anything. the rumors about brandy workers being entitled and rude are true...for anyone wondering!! read more

"one size fits most " is a total lie. Most of the clothes are folded so you can't really tell what it is till you pretty much mess up the mound. Personally I like the style, some of the stuff is chic, free flowing and has a touch of free people to it. But let's get real here there is only one size and if your bigger than medium it's hard to fit the clothes. This particular location is the smallest Brandy Melville I ever been too. One goes into a Brandy Melville expecting shit customer service, so in that respect, the Irvine location is spot on. The clothes were folded nicely this time, though. You'd think BM would do something about its stores seeing as how all the yelp reviews are angry about the quality of their customer service. The clothes are really cute all the time and so soft. But those with bigger chests or booties, beware. Since their main attraction seems to be cropped shirts and the shorts are kind of cut a certain way, expect underboob or a little butt cheek to not quite fit in those cute floral print goodies. Also, expect pilling on the softer material after 4 or so washes. I bought the black maxi skirt (Gulliana?), and it's so soft but also started pilling very quickly. I even tried line drying and hand washing but that just makes the clothing stretch out and seriously who has time for that? Remember to check the stitching as well. There were a lot of loose threads on a lot of things I looked at. I liked the graphic shirts until I realized 12-13 year olds were also eyeing/wearing the "boo you whore" shirt. I kind of think crop tops are a bit much for anyone not at least in high school (and that's pushing it), but that's ridiculous. "Mean Girls" came out 9 years ago, so they were 3 or 4. So, I'm guessing they don't actually know what "boo you whore" is referring to unless they've picked Regina George as a role model. The store is swarming with these dreaded teenyboppers, and the raging hormones in the store is enough to scare even the bravest of souls. Bottom line: Should you choose to brave the sea of unhelpful employees, messy displays, and (shudder) adolescents, you can find some comfy, trendy clothing that properly fits sizes 00-4 that won't last you long-term despite all the TLC you give your clothes. read more

Out of every brandy Melville location (which is pretty much ever LA and OC location) I've been to this one has the worst customer service. I don't think anyone should expect to get little to any kind of customer service at a brandy Melville. I don't know why it is this way but that's just the way most brandy melvilles are when I visit them so I'm very surprised when I find a friendly employee in a location. Why do I and other people still shop at brandy? Because the shirts are so sofftttt, stylishly simplistic, and they range from $12-$22 per shirt which isn't too bad. Other reasons may include someone needing a smaller size range which brandy definitely supplies. Whatever the case you know what to expect when you come into a brandy (crop tops, signs that say babe cave, and baseball caps with cute text) and sadly bad customer service is one of the things you might have to expect. Sorry but it's true ): Will I be back? My answer is......Until I find a store that fits my needs for soft basics with better customer service yes..I will continue this terrible relationship I have with brandy. So sad. Sigh. I shop here because it is the closest Brandy to me but the employees are so so rude. There's maybe 4 girls working each shift always huddled in the fitting room area because they don't want to help the guests. I get that retail is sometimes difficult but it's not very difficult to be a decent, helpful human being. I stand by the brandy Melville location... I live up in Los Angeles, and every brandy store here they're all absolutely catty and bitchy. Every time I shop here all the girls are extremely welcoming have zero problem taking the clothes off the manikins if they can't find the top or bottoms anywhere else in the stores. One of the girls actually remembered who I was too because of my shark bag I made myself that I carry around to "advertise." As I did, I got some pants and a shirt to go with it and then proceeded to walk to the cashier. These 16-18 year olds were standing behind the register just talking, and one of them had their backs turned to me. The manager is the biggest bitch and so is the whole staff of little teenagers. They all have no concept of customer service. It's like they're all mad that they're having to do the job they're getting paid to do. I got double charged for my purchase and they were saying we have to call customer service and wait a few days. Brandy Melville stores have cute jewelry, caps, hats, backpacks, and quirky little things at a reasonable price. They usually have girly stickers that are free (must ask @ the register). Clothing items are "One size fits most", translation = Small to Medium teenage/just off to college girls. On the occasion you will find something that is loose fitting and a normal adult could wear. I have to admit some clothing items are soft and comfortable, but most are very cheaply made, considering they get ruined after two washes. I would rather shop @ Umano, same cute designs, but for a cause. Store is usually organized, clothes neatly folded, not to mention they have the cutest hangers. One major thing that I don't believe management nor corporate care about is the lacking customer service at all of their stores! You will never get a "hello, how are you", "welcome", "can I help you find something". I can't tell you how many times I've gone to the fitting room to have to ask them for a room even though they clearly see you standing there waiting to be helped. I just visited this location to make a return. I understand the policy, however they were not even polite when explaining it. I also understand that they try to uphold the same rules for everyone. But, when your clothes do not change for 6 months at a time, it does not make sense to not take returns after 14 days. Also, mine was a gift, why would I have the last 4 digits of the cc? They employees and manager were extremely rude and were unable to accommodate my problem. I feel they should do what they need to do to help the customer because the customer is the one paying their checks. To be fair I don't think the employees are as snobby as they used to be but they still don't have great attitudes. The stuff is ok. What's frustrating is that you can't return anything. When I did try to exchange something from an online purchase for store credit none of the employees even knew how to do it.
