It's almost a joke with the service at the store. Extremely rude associates and stand off-ish service. Came here around opening time to only be met with several associates restocking and organizing. The first employee at the door that saw us walk in looked over, and then just walked away. Another associate that was too busy talking to a coworker nearly ran into our stroller, and it seemed as though most employees were avoiding eye contact to not have to engage in any customer service. The associate at the cash register was decent though, very friendly and even asked for permission to touch the wife's cellphone to check on an order number, so all was not lost at this location. Otherwise, you'll see your basic selection of H&M, no issues with the clothing selection and styles, but the majority of employees here did not seem nice. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at the H&M store in the Irvine Spectrum. The customer service here is extremely poor -- it feels like no one in the store, including management, genuinely cares about helping customers or providing a positive shopping experience. There's also a clear lack of communication among all team members, which only makes the experience worse for customers. Customer service should always be the first and foremost top priority. Every team member should focus on delivering great service, not just on the company's bottom line. Without strong customer service, people will stop coming into the store altogether. Management should be held accountable for hiring team members who don't care about customer service and for not ensuring proper communication within the team. H&M needs to seriously re-evaluate their hiring, training, and leadership approach at this location to make sure their employees represent the company's values and treat customers with respect. read more

Placed an online order that said next day pickup but never got an order ready email, status just says in progress :/ I was nervous abt the size I wanted being sold out so I went into the store to grab the item myself. One cashier, one manager, one associate, and one fitting room attendant later--all of them chill and helpful--I walked out with the sweater I wanted plus a new coat with a classic silhouette that I'll wear until it disintegrates. This H&M has the largest children's section I've been to! I love buying cute dresses for my 4 year old daughter that are affordable especially as she outgrows them quickly. No sense in buying overpriced and expensive dresses at Janie and Jack when they wear them for 1 season and then they are too small! I was able to get her 3 dresses and a Halloween shirt for the price of 1 outfit at other stores. The line at the cashier moved quickly. They are now charging for shopping bags. Overall my visit to the Irvine Spectrum was disappointing as it was overcrowded but I left happy after seeing this children's section! read more

Cheap clothes with poor refund policies: The only shirt in my size was a small, but it had a makeup stain on it. I asked if I could leave the tag on and try to wash the collar at home. They said they wouldn't take if I brought it back because the stain didn't come out, even if I left the tags on. Apparently, the only discount you get for buying a stained shirt is 10% off, which would be $1.99. read more

Ended up coming over to the Irvine Spectrum where the H&M store is far superior compared to nearby South Coast Plaza. Big selection, lots of inventory, and better organized. The Costa Mesa store is huge. However, the selection and inventory is limited. The same items are hung and displayed all over the store. The store is really nice & has a diverse selection of clothing that was pleasing to walk through. I had two MAJOR put offs though. 1) There was a HUGE cockroach on the second floor by the fitting rooms. (I am really terrified of bugs though, so this is more of a personal ick) 2) The staff were either really untrained or did not care about doing their jobs well. Specifically a manager & the young man who was checking me out. I had a e-gift card that I was trying to use, but it wasn't working. He told me that "he could get a manager if you want". When I asked him what was wrong he said he didn't know so I asked him to retrieve a manager. The manager got there within like 3 minutes or so, and that whole time the person who was helping me was slumped over the counter, rubbing his eyes, and looked like he pulled an all nighter. Then he explained to the manager what happened. The manager told him to try a different computer and then left after saying she'll come back. He tried it, same problem. He let the manager know, but over the walkie she said "then she has to use a different method of payment." I would have been okay if she came and tried to fix it and it just didn't work. But she didn't even try to fix my problem. The person helping me seemed new, and didn't know how to fix it either so I was pretty bummed. AND THEN! The guy OVERCHARGED ME!!!!!! I was supposed to pay like $15ish because one of my items was on sale but he charged me regular price so I paid more. This last part was my last STRAW!!!! SO UPSET read more

The quality is descent for the price, the clothes are trendy and not meant to last for years and that's ok. I love shopping their sales and clearance sections, love their bathing suits and underwear. Jackie the manager would not accept the 26$ bundle underwear in return die to package being opened. How is customer suppose to be able to know if something fits if they do not open it. As a fellow retail employee I know under garments CAN BE RETURNED AND DEFECTED. She decided to instead argue with me instead of trying to help me. The plus was two levels of shopping. After that. Yikes. First, does anyone work there? Not sure. No employee was identifiably an employee except for the three cashiers. My issue was partly due to H&M corporate, but, this store didn't help. I had an online order to pick up. It was not there and the delivery date changed. I was in that area for a party and my H&M gift was not available but the items were thankfully in-store. I asked the cashier who got a manager who took my name and contact information to please send back the pick up order ASAP as I wouldn't be back when my order did finally arrive. Two weeks later I had to call the corporate number; you cannot call a store directly. I had to have them relay my request and still my issue was ultimately resolved by Apple Pay. H&M your store needs help and your corporate staff isn't helping. I'm not very sure of who the lady I dealt with was if she was a manager or supervisor, regardless, my simple request was ignored. read more

I am so angry at the employees in this store. I bought baby clothes with my partner and one of the clothes we bought were a 3-piece set (beanie, onesie, and pants). We waited in line to pay for the clothes and they took off the baby clothes from the hangers, placed them in the bag, we paid for it, and left the store. We came home and the beanie from that 3-piece set weren't in the bag. I drove back to the store immediately after noticing that one of the piece in the set were missing and spoke to one of the salesperson if the person who ran our transaction have forgotten the beanie or if it happens to be at the counter. The manager interjected and said "do you have it or is it in your car?" Of course we checked, why would we waste our time driving all the way back to the store for a beanie. Note, we called customer service for assistance and they provided ZERO help. The manager then told me to go look for the item. At this point, I was already annoyed of the inconvenience of having to go to the kid's department upstairs to look for it. I couldn't find the same set, so I went back to the counter to ask for assistance. By the time I came back to the counter, the manager was occupied with another customer so I waited patiently. This nice gentleman who worked in the store asked if I needed help and went to go look for it. However, he came back and said that he couldn't help me anymore because the manager told him "you can help the customer when the line is shorter." This ticked me off extremely. I then waited patiently again and finally spoke to the manager, Leslie. I was in the store for over 30 minutes trying to get this resolved. They showed no effort in trying to assist me and resorted to giving us 50% off of our full transaction. I appreciate them trying to resolve the situation by giving me a discount on our transaction for the inconvenience. However, the way they treated me in this situation was ridiculous and rude. They showed no respect towards me as customers and this affected my experience at H&M. This happened this past Friday. read more

Don't come here. The sales team here have no idea what they are doing. I'm a vivid H&M shopper for more than a decade. On 06/18/2023 around 7pm ish I stopped by the store prior taking my kids to dinner in Irvine Spectrum. Spotting a crop top I kindda like , I scanned and found HM online is about $10 cheaper. As usual, I came up to the cashier and ask to price match. To my surprise they refused to do so. I proceeded to talk to the manager who stood next to the cashier at that moment and confirmed it. She also refused to price match. i have done this price match at HM for YEARS and this is the first time i heard that store manager said that "we never did it" and even asked me who did for me last time and their names LOL oh my lord, like I have to memorize who did my price match the past decade. I was in a rush with my kids waiting outside so I don't have time to argue with these people so I just left. Per HM policy from other stores's managers who had helped me, they said they CAN NOT price match if the sales are flash promotion like 20% off but if the item are 30-75% they all price match. This store manager has no idea how their policy works but act so rightful lol. Never shop here again! read more

This store is a disaster. It's like a low version of Walmart. The clothing is in an unorganized display and you have to go on a haphazard search for a different size of the style. The sizing tags are so difficult to read and when you finally figure the code out, the clothing is who knows where. The down escalator is broken, but you are not forewarned so when you get upstairs you are basically trapped along with several hundred people. They have the down escalator blocked off so that you cannot simply walk down it as stairs. The line to the elevator wrapped along the whole second floor and there's no way out. Huge fire hazard and extremely inconvenient! Won't be setting foot in here ever again. read more

Mean uncompetitive manager (the bold guy with a sparking earring and tattoos) same as the cashier girl at the counter -If the manager is like that what can you expect from the rest of the customer service reps? I brought in the store 7 bags of recycling clothes which you SHOULD get one coupon of 15% off for each bag. The "manager" (the bold guy I described) said that it was not like that, so he wanted to give me ONLY ONE coupon for the 7 bags!!! I disagreed and told him that on the App, Web & Stores (EVERYWHERE) on H&M is advertised that you get 1 coupon PER bag. He just didn't want to honor that. So, as I'm leaving the counter to take my bags to the Costa Mesa location, the girl at the counter tried to pull my bags in!!! Unbelievable!!! I finally took my bags to the Costa Mesa location and the guy at the store even gave me an extra coupon!!! That to me is real customer service. Where they make you feel you are a valuable customer because at the end H&M is making money out of you recycled clothes. Do not let anybody intimidate you just because they are behind a counter or so called "manager". I do not recommend to this location. They don't deserve our business. read more
