This is still one of the best Venezuelan restaurants in Charlotte!…read more I came back for lunch with other coworkers, and this place still offers a solid menu with a good variety of traditional items. We ordered the empanadas, tequeños and the sugar cane lemonade (papelon con limon) and we absolutely loved it! Los Chamos is still on South Blvd. with its own free parking lot. Staff is still fully bilingual and super friendly. Common areas are spacious and clean. There is still no outside seating. I can't wait to come back and try more menu items.

Unique compared to some of the more general Latin options, as they really do focus on Venezuelan fare. Parking and decor a plus! All of the appetizers were amazing--we got everything except the tacos. The trio and flight options are truly the way to go here, the flavors are all different and you really need to try them all! The chimichurri here is probably my favorite of all time. The rich smoky flavor is so deep and satisfying, I've never had one so robust. I wish I had done an entree that was smothered in it!!! Next time, for sure. Don't pass on desert. The flan is just right and I appreciated the molasses flavor in the syrup, although my dining partner wished for some lime zest to lighten the dish--preferences can differ!

I've been to this place a couple of times now because I wanted to give it more than one opportunity…read morebefore writing my review. On my first visit, I tried the Venezuelan hot dog without the quail eggs. The bun was nicely toasted, and the hot dog was packed not only with ingredients but also with great flavor. It was definitely a great hot dog, and I highly recommend trying it. The quail eggs weren't something I personally wanted on mine, but others may enjoy that option. I also tried the mini arepas, which came with beans, chicken salad, and pork. I was actually surprised that the bean arepa ended up being my favorite. It was packed with so much flavor. The chicken salad was okay, but I felt like it could have used a little more seasoning. The pork was really good and seasoned to perfection. I also had their cachapas, which came with fried cheese, steak, and a sweet corn pancake. The steak could have used a little more seasoning, but the sweet corn pancake was amazing. I would highly recommend the food, and their drinks are very good as well. It is a small restaurant, so there is not a ton of space, but it has a great vibe inside. Now, as far as the service, my first visit was amazing. The second time, however, the service was not good. We sat on the patio, and the waitress was very short with us and came across as rude. Overall, I would still recommend checking this place out for the food and drinks, but I do hope the service becomes more consistent because the food is definitely worth trying.

Cute lit up signs everywhere give it a cool vibe and the food was so so good. The staff were so nice, constantly giving us delicious sauces to enjoy and the food was amazing! The plantains were sweet and crisp and the arepas were HUGE, completely stuffed to the brim! If we are in the area again we will definitely check it out

Great Spanish music playing too! I love that it is wheelchair accessible with an electronic lift for anyone in a wheelchair. They have a restroom. No parking lot. The menu is simple offering bowls, wraps, salads. I got the vegetarian Sabor power greens bowl with black beans and no jalapeños. There is a salsa bar with various options. You may add as much as you like. Tasty and very filling for under $12! The verde salsa is great for those who like mild. The mango habanero was good too with a little sweetness balanced with a kick of spicy. I'll be back soon!

The restaurant was clean and brightly decorated. There are a few booths on the ground floor and then more seating upstairs, but that section was roped off during our visit. The woman at the register was pleasant and was able to answer a couple questions I had about the menu. She also came over to the table a couple times later while I was eating to check in and see if I needed anything, which was service above what I expected in a fast casual restaurant, so that was appreciated. The order was prepared pretty quickly, and the food was good. Not quite great, but good. The chips were warm, which was awesome, and they were crispy and well-salted. They have a salsa bar with quite a few tasty options. The queso tasted good, but it was very, very thin in consistency. It was impossible to get a chip to your mouth without a trail of cheese dripping across the table (and hopefully not onto your clothes). I also had the Quesabirria. It was very flavorful, but also maybe slightly over-cooked and a bit too chewy. It was a bit messy to eat, as the cheese was oozing out and grease was dripping with every bite. It was a challenge to keep the grease from running down my arm and getting on my clothes. Maybe I was just there on an off night, but the food didn't quite live up to my expectations. A good meal, but it had the potential to be better.

Located where the former Moes was in the Pineville Matthews shopping center with Bonefish and Panera. The place looked pretty clean although after ordering my food I noticed the sanitation grade was a 91...yikes. Anyways I went ahead and ate there. So let me start by saying the menu is large, so many different items to chose from and not only Peruvian food. I saw some Colombian and Venezuelan items. With that being said I was very shocked at the lack of standard side items. Literally rice and white rice at that, pinto beans and like one other things. All other sides are considered premium sides and those premium sides would be basic sides at like hello chicken or viva chicken. I got the 1/4 chicken, white meat with reg side of white rice and premium side of plantains. For the dipping sauce I was limited to the yellow mild sauce or the spicy hot sauce. They were all out of the green mild sauce. Just for context I arrived at 11:40, they open at 11. Not sure how they ran out so fast but I would have loved to try it because the yellow sauce was just ok and the red was cold and just spicy no real flavor. Thankfully the chicken was flavorful and juicy, the white rice was white rice and the plantains were cooked beautifully. Also the cashier was great and provided excellent service. All in all, I would visit again but no rush to go back again. Viva Chicken still takes the lead for now for me. I would love them to mature their side menu, increase their sanitation grade and have the green sauce available.
