I have been coming here a few times a year for various events but the place just doesn't seem to have any sort of a niche...yeah they have beer but I could get that down the street at any pub. They don't even bother putting ice in their water coolers anymore either.

To be honest we have encountered better IPA'S and it wasn't all that memorable. Flavor elements in this beer are citrus, hoppiness, piney and a bitterness. The beer is bright in hue. Even though we were underwhelmed with this beer I cannot say if that applies to all of their beers as we were only able to get the one but if they are all that way perhaps that is one factor resulting in closure.

My first impression of the humble establishment was that it lacks pretentiousness and offers an aesthetic of a hole in a wall minus the grime. While H-Town Brewing primarily focuses on adult beverages, it has an on-site food truck. I was full from an earlier lunch, but my friend offered me his fries and tortilla chips, which were really good. I kicked myself for having nothing but plastic because the food truck accepted only Zelle and cash (I lacked either). I also ordered a flight with the following: 3 Seashells, Brash EZ 7, Spin Jammer, and the Exotica Scorpion. I didn't care for the Exotica (it was too sour for my preference), but I did like the other three that I tried. We didn't see any food during our visit, but they do have rotating vendors that sell food on site. You can also bring in food or have food delivered to the brewery. They don't have any TVs, so this wouldn't be a place to watch a game. They do allow free parking at the brewery if you want to take the train to the stadium which is pretty cool. They have weekday specials and they host events like Music Bingo and Yoga on the 4th Sunday of the month. Check their website and social media for events and specials.

The space itself is very nice inside, the kind of brewery my girlfriend would like. It's bright, large windows, clean and lots of plants. They don't do flights on game days even if no one is in line and there are like 10 people in the brewery. The 1st time I came, this rule made sense but the second time they had damn near as many workers as customers. So, I have only tried 3 beers. They also offer free parking for the Astros games if you have a 15,00 tab so that alone is worth the visit.

According to their website, they're family friendly and dog friendly too. I've enjoyed all of the beers that I've tried including the Kolsch and Pub Ale. I haven't ordered a flight, but I like that you can order up to 6 pours (I've never seen a beer flight with more than 4-5 pours). In addition to beer, they offer wine, cider, and NA beverages. They offer weekly specials like $5 fruit beers on Fridays. They also have events like game nights, yoga (Sundays), and trivia night (Wednesdays). If you're planning to hang awhile, they have a shelf full of board games near the bathrooms for patrons to play. They sometimes have a food truck on site, although the times that I have visited, they didn't have one. They do allow patrons to bring in outside food (if you need a Tex Mex fix, Irma's is nearby). I have not had any issues with parking, though the times that I visited haven't been super busy. They have a parking lot as well as street parking (free after 6 pm and all day on Sundays). Frost Town is super chill and laid back. Just the way I like it!

I really enjoyed the fighting windmills the most. It was described as a mexican lager. The staff were friendly and were able to provide input on the drink choices. It was spacious, family friendly, and cool inside despite the heat. They even had games to enjoy. I'm giving a 3 because the beer was good but not great. With that said, it's worth trying and I would return.

This blend makes it hard to give the bar a true identity. While they do have a large selection of beers on tap, their cocktail menu leaves me feeling lost. I appreciate the attempt to create unique flavor combinations but the options are just...confusing. For example, mezcal with citrus and prickly pear, or a highball with black currant, tequila and apricot. I'm holding on for dear life with all of these ingredients! Going along for the adventure, I tried their pickle cocktail that was on the menu and it was honestly, terrible. While they do have a happy hour that goes until 8pm, the service this last visit just wasn't the best. The server who helped me told me it was his second day and was clearly struggling to keep up with the cocktail combinations, referencing his phone many times while preparing the drink. I ended up not liking this drink and brought it back to the bar with just one sip gone and rather than offering to make me another drink, they kept it on my bill. Ok, whatever. That being said, just before this happened, the couple in front of me went to pay for their bill, prepared drinks in hand, at 8:02pm and the bartender refused to honor the happy hour prices, just two minutes past the official end time. With these two instances, it seems like the priority is maximizing every dollar of profit rather than investing in the customer experience. Given the number of other original concepts in the area, I would pass.

NOTICE: All people from the Houston area who know what's up are giving Brash 5-stars. All of these randos from out of state and have never been to Brash giving it 1-star so they can be part of a religious internet mob who are offended because Brash scares their religious sensibilities. I've been to Brash a few times. Out of my top 5 stouts of all-time, 3 of them are Brash stouts including my #1 favorite - Black Masses. The juke box only has metal and it is a warehouse filled with arcade games. What's not to love? Unless you don't love metal I guess. Trust the locals on these reviews, not the out of state keyboard warriors who have never been within 100 miles of Brash Brewery. read more

I love this place! Great beers, arcade games that aren't ridiculously overpriced, and a metal jukebox. It's a warehouse and not cushy or posh by any means but that's the point. Every clique or subculture has their place in a city like Houston, and this is a good down to earth spot. Don't like their politics or views on religion? Go somewhere else. Don't like the fact that it's a barebones warehouse? Go somewhere else. You want a trendy, hip hipster/yuppie hang out spot? Go somewhere else. You want good beers, with good tunes on the jukebox, and a 'come as you are feel'? This is the place. read more

So discusted with the brewery and staff!!! I came here with a group of my friends to enjoy another Houston craft brewery. One of my male friends is gay, and yes it is obvious. After getting a beer I heard one of the people pouring the beer whisper to another "Fag". I was pissed!!!! I asked, "What did you just say?" He said nothing of course. We walked away and sat. I looked back and they were laughing. One was a chunkier man with a beard, the other a taller thin man with a beard. I so upset we just walked out. Great job losing some of your customers!!! Went to this brewing on a hot summer day. First impression was wow, a garage. It's hot and humid inside. I thought this was ok because the beer would keep me cold. 3 beers on tap. I don't remember what they were called but it doesn't matter because I would rather forget. If you're going for a brewery in Houston there are several others that are much better. That may sound like no big deal; except they don't have a kitchen. They encourage day drinking. My people! I ordered a flight and they offer 6-beers in their flight. Again, my people! I got 3 different IPA's, a coffee stout, a kolsch, and a hefeweizen. I liked all of them but The Whammer hazy IPA was my favorite amongst them. The atmosphere was relaxed and chill. The place had a few people enjoying a pint while looking at spreadsheets on their laptop, another guy all decked out in spandex (it's more fun saying it that way then saying a cyclist) and a few couples. Lots of plants so my ladyfriend would dig it too. The music was perfect for me and it ranged from Zeppelin to Earth Wind and Fire to The Smokey and the Bandit theme. Definitely a spot I will repeat when I come to Houston and if I were a local, I would be a regular.

I ordered a flight when I got there and was pleasantly surprised to see they do 6 beer flights. Score! I ordered 2 stouts, 2 pilsners, and 2 IPA's. The Dark Artifact (stout) was my favorite, but the pilsners were a pleasant surprise. They were playing 90's hip hop (A Tribe Called Quest, Gang Starr, De La Soul) at a chill volume. Parking is limited, but there is street parking on the surrounding side streets. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable of the beers, and very welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. While the brewery doesn't serve food, there was a Polish hot dog vendor outside grilling fresh sausages, which was a great bonus. Karbach Brewing was one of these breweries that were on this lengthy but steadily diminishing brewery list of mine. The beer that we had was a Kölsch beer by the name of Love Street. The flavor features to enjoy with this kölsch is a naturally sweet flavor along with a clean presence as well as a finish. The beer gives a slight warming feeling and is smooth in body. It's also very light bodied so not out of the realm of possibility of having more than one while hanging out. A very solid beer overall.
