As soon as we arrived the parking was plentiful, definitely a plus for an anxious parker like myself. My husband and ordered a pizza immediately because we were super hungry. Just a classic pep. We found our friends inside and then ordered a flight. I can't tell you anything about any of the beers because they were not memorable. Service was friendly enough. The place had a lot of space and was dog friendly. We got our pizza and it was pretty bland. Walking out we figured it was a good place to try but nothing about it will us back. read more

This is a cool neighborhood hidden gem. Tons of space in the converted warehouse to sit undercover or there are tables outside on the deck. They often have a food truck parked in the lot selling food - it was delicious smelling BBQ when I came by to pick up some 4-packs to-go as a gift. Lots of parking in their lot or on the street if it gets full. I came by around 2pm on a Saturday and it was surprisingly empty - give this place some love! read more

Asked to wear a mask while "moving about," so if you can avoid the urge to move about after you get your drinks; you'll be good. They have beer to-go, t-shirts, and glassware for sell so buy some. Really enjoy the sours here, and I've tried some of their IPAs and I like those too! I enjoy the vibe of the place to play a casual board game that doesn't require too much thinking, but I went on a Friday night and they had a band playing. They were good, but the vibe I was getting was closer to a Saturday afternoon. Tables were sticky but I was able to grab napkins and water from the cooler and wipe 'em down. I'm alright with this experience, but not everyone is! Tips: they do have a patio, but mosquitos so wear pants or spray yourself down before you go. And they have a parking lot! read more

A few friends and I came here on opening night to see a local band and grab some brews. The parking is more plentiful than usual in Houston, but it definitely requires more organization. There are no painted lines on the blacktop, I accidentally blocked in the food truck at first (didn't realize they were going to leave and close up at 8:15 p.m.!) and there isn't even a sign that indicates it's the parking lot. You just kind of have to know when to make a right. The inside of the brewery is pretty cool -- they have some nice, long tables for big groups and board game set-ups. There's an area for a live band, plus a backyard where kids can run amok (or color with the plentiful art supplies). We accidentally came the same night as someone's birthday party, so the bar area got pretty crowded. At one point, I stood at the bar for about five minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Hi! I have a tab open! Please let me order another splitz! I think they could manage the space better by roping off a section for parties and private events, rather than having 30+ people standing right in front of the counter. I tried their two fruity beers: the tropical splitz, which had pleasant hints of passionfruit and guava, and the citrus splitz, which tasted far more of a generic citrus than blood orange and key lime. My friend really enjoyed her double suede brew, a cream stout that went down smoothly. Their beers are fairly unique compared to the rest of the brews usually available in Houston. Given that most of their drinks are $7 or less and they're still fiddling with and improving the space, it's worth trying out. read more

This is heaven! What a wonderful addition to our neighborhood! The beer here is top notch. Period. The customer service is excellent. This is a family-owned business and they take a lot of pride in what they do. They did a fantastic job renovating the interior of this warehouse. It has everything! TVs, couches, benches, chairs, games, etc. Lots of toilets in the gender neutral restroom (which is very important for the ladies...no waiting in lines!!). Two outside areas to sit. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Food trucks!! We absolutely love it here! John and Shane are wonderful and always make us feel welcome! If you've not been here, come on over! I was headed to a different local heights brewery but I passed this gem up on the way and knew I had to stop! Such a small brewery with plenty on tap! Very spacious and lots of seating. The brew master was very knowledgeable and friendly. Also snagged a couple crowlers before I left. I loved how intimate it was and not filled with people! Definitely social distancing at its best! After visiting this brewery, I'd say it's one of my favorites. They have a large variety of beers on tap which you can sample. I love the large open indoors that connects to the patio. The interior is rustic and cozy. The patio is large and spacious. Lots of parking available. The staff is friendly. Bathrooms are clean. There isn't a large sign saying the name of the place so it was kind of sketchy arriving at first. The outside of the place doesn't look inviting like the interior does but once you go inside, its very inviting indeed. Great for large parties. read more

A brand new brewery, and I'm giving them a bit of slack. Hopefully they can fine tune some things. Inside is a big open warehouse with plenty of seating and a patio in the back. This seems like a place that would be very loud, but the music is quiet and they seem to have good sound dampening. It looks like service is still training, with an older couple that is running everything. Though they still need to figure out the POS system and how to pour beer better. No worries, they are sweat as can be. They do low ABV and subtle styles, and some are hard to find around. Like a Grodziskie which is a type of smoked hefeweizen. Which had the typical hefe flavors up front, but really light and then all BBQ smoke...this might be the best beer they make right now if going by the style, just not to my tastes. The Pils is buttery diacetyl, and think I was tasting DMS in some other beers (that is a cooked corn/veggie, sometimes comes off as Sulfur flavor). I love the styles they are doing as it is not the over hyped NEIPA's/murky beers, or the overly sweet "pastry stouts" all the new guys want to do. Though I'm definitely getting off flavors so far. If they can clean those up I'll gladly give an update and can see this being another great addition to the neighborhood. read more

Beers are decent. It's a tough place to compete in HOU right now so the quality of the beers will determine longevity. It's all but a given you will need to have a hazy IPA on tap. The facility is nice, typical warehouse but a huge bar. One constructive criticism are the huge lights hanging above the bar which blocks the view of the TVs unless you are sitting at the bar. read more

The Swanson pyramid of greatness is clutch. Great space with lots of seating. Great beer, got the redwood IPA and it is solid.

Visited shortly after they opened, nothing super fancy yet, but you can tell they are working on things. Really focusing on a family environment with a kids play section in the back. Very spacious with clean bathrooms and a family bathroom. No food so come prepared. That said, the beer is a great change of pace here in houston. When I attended it was only sours but they were tasty. The tap list has expanded now but I would strongly encourage a visit if you are a fan of sours. Cheers! read more

We have been looking forward to New Magnolia Brewing Company coming to the neighborhood. We walked over on a Sunday to be greeted by the family who owns the company. Extremely friendly and even gave us a back story on certain beers! We tried the Polish Oak Smoked Beer, Citrus, and the Hefe. All wonderful and distinct. The atmosphere is friendly for kids and dogs! The beer this brewery produces are some of my favorite from the numerous breweries in and around Houston. My friends and I really enjoy their porters, lagers, and IPAs. The interior is very spacious and dog friendly with a nice parking lot which is a bit rare for the area. The owner is very outgoing and helpful but their staff can be hit or miss on friendliness. They recently started have monthly plant centric markets which are really fun to attend and we have not had any issues finding street parking g on those days. Happy to have found this brewery and excited to see what they put out next. read more

Wife and I love to support small local breweries and try their beers. More times than not we are underwhelmed. The New Magnolia Brewing was nice clean atmosphere with plenty of seating and parking. We tried several different beers and I was very impressed. They know how to brew!! A lot of the time breweries try to hide their inability to brew behind dark heavy beers. This brewery has a wide range of different beers and styles and they have mastered their craft. The one negative thing that kept me from giving them a five star review was they did not have enough people working. There was a line at least 20 deep to get a beer or pay your tab. The wait was 30 to 40 minutes to get a beer. I asked one of the bartenders if I had to stand in line to close my tab and was told that I had to wait that long line just to pay and leave. Or they told me I could walk my tab and they would just automatically add 20%. This is what we did but that is a bit ridiculous. I would go back for the beer but if there is not more waitstaff add I would not continue to come. read more

This is my new favorite brewery and that's saying a lot because there are so many good ones in Houston these days. Simply put, the beer is flat out excellent with a level of refinement you don't normally find in microbreweries. I highly recommend any of the nitro cream ales they happen to have on tap (there have been two since we started going there). The people are very friendly and love to talk about beer. Even if you don't happen to be a super beer geek (which I don't consider myself to be) you will find the conversation interesting. The place is basically family run and it definitely has a welcoming friendly vibe to it. There's plenty of space inside and out and a tasty food truck parked outside on the weekends. Oh, and VERY dog friendly. Come check it out before it gets on the radar of the sheeple of the suburbs and is overrun! :-) read more
