We researched several contractors and received multiple quotes. In the end, we selected Brasmerica and we're glad we made the decision to go with Carlos, Leo, and their team to work on our driveway. Price: The bottom line for many people is the price, and Carlos provides competitive pricing. Living in the peninsula within the current market/economy, we got the feeling that we would have been paying too much of an inflated premium (unreasonably in some cases) to other contractors who operate primarily within our area. We were lucky that Carlos was looking to expand his area of work (I believe he operates primarily in the east bay) and meet with us. We were glad to hear a quote like his, which was closer to the amount that we had in our minds based on our own exhaustive research. Quality: For our job, they had separate crews for demo versus pavers installation. In our opinion, seeing specialized crews for specific tasks was reassuring, something you may not get from other do-it-all-with-the-same-guy contractors. We feel this results in a better final product. Their pavers crew was especially detailed in many phases of the installation. Also, if there were any issues that came up during the project, whether it was unforeseen or an honest mistake by his crews, Carlos always came through and addressed our concerns with a solution that he made sure was satisfactory to us. Additionally, the quality of materials used were top notch, from the sand to the geofabric to the top-of-the-line pavers. Time will tell, but we feel confident in our new driveway's longevity, lack of required maintenance, and ability to retain its appearance. Communication: Carlos did not let us down in this area, which we felt is just as important as the above categories in order to achieve an end result that you are happy with. He is reachable, responsive, attentive, and patient. Not every contractor will take kindly to an owner bringing up issues, but Carlos responded favorably every time. We even noticed an item after we had already made final payment, and he still came back, reviewed the issue with us, and brought his crew back to make it right. We know many contractors would not have done this, so this shows integrity on Carlos' part and on Brasmerica. Most simply put: 1) Carlos made it clear that he wants us to be satisfied and to review Brasmerica positively, and 2) we wanted to complete our project with a satisfactory experience and end product. If you are reasonable with Carlos, he will be reasonable with you, and the mutually beneficial relationship will result in getting 1 and 2. We recommended Carlos and his team to our neighbor across the street, who loves what we did with our driveway, and after talking to Carlos, hopefully our neighbor will pursue the work and find that it was a good decision to go with Brasmerica. Carlos and Leo did a wonderful job on my backyard and helped me achieve the vision I wanted. Leo and his team installed a paver patio on the first tier and dog turf on the second tier. They were pleasant, efficient, and diligent and finished the work quickly. Leo was present to manage the project work the entire time. Carlos was easy to work with and provided great advice on how to finish and trim out both the patio and the turf area. I wanted to leave planting areas to border both the patio and the turf and Carlos patiently spent time with me as I brainstormed and he measured out what I wanted. The colours of the pavers are beautiful and the stone he used to border the patio nicely defines the planting areas so I no longer need to build planter boxes. He recommended a mower border around the turf and that turned out to be a great way to achieve a clean finish around the turf edges. While not the cheapest, his pricing was competitive and worth it for the quality of work from his team as well as his attentiveness, prompt communication, and responsiveness. Carlos and Leo were very accommodating and helpful. The morning the project started, I had to leave for work by 7am. Carlos and Leo arrived at 630am and made sure to walk me through the project and to outline with paint the specific patio and turf areas to ensure we were all on the same page. I had purchased some infill for the turf from a landscaping company and didn't realize it came in a 50-lb bag. I had just had shoulder surgery and couldn't get it home easily. So Carlos and Leo picked it up for me. The turf was delivered days later than expected and without batting an eye, Carlos rescheduled his crew to return and install and finish up the day after it was finally delivered. Although generally guarded when purchasing services, I immediately contracted Brasmerica to do pavers in driveway, front-door entry, and back yard of our house. I had been wanting pavers for a long time. About a year ago, I got an outrageous bid from another contractor. Disappointed I decided the only way I could afford to get the job done would be to do it myself--but such a big job! Even with assistance from a day laborer, it would be years before I'd get it all done. I checked Youtube, read up to learn how to do it, all very labor intensive. The task was monumental. Finally, while out on my walk, a house down the street was having pavers installed in the driveway. I scheduled an appointment to get an estimate, thinking it would be more than I could afford to spend, still it couldn't hurt. Imagine my surprise when the bid was within my reach. I immediately signed up to get pavers installed two weeks later, with a promise that the "job would be completed within a week, two at the most". I knew they would do a professional job, as evidenced by the neighbor down the street. (They finished as promised). I told my friend about my plan. She said, that if they did a good job at my house she would have them do her yard, too. They are scheduled to start her job on Monday and she is very excited. We are extremely pleased with Brassmerica's paver work. It was nice to work with such a professional crew. Leo and Carlos were very knowledgeable about the paver work and Leo's decades of experience showed as they created a very elegant curved driveway extension to match our existing pavers. We had quotes from other paver companies but Brassmerica's quote was very competitive and we heard great things about them through neighbors and have actually seen their work. I felt confident they would do a great job and was not disappointed. Carlos kept me updated on when they would be able to start and had the pavers delivered prior to the estimated timeframe which was great. I could see they are very well planned and experts in their trade. Cesar and C showed up before 8am on day 1 and the crew was efficient like a well oiled machine. I was very pleased with their progress. They even caped an old water line to ensure it would not leak any water and cause any future issues on our driveway. I appreciate their attention to detail and the pavers were almost done. Day 2 was the finished edges and power-wash plus sealer. They finished before schedule and we are very happy with the final result. Their expertise was shown when dealing with the curves and sloping of our driveway. Carlos and Leo did a wonderful job at laying the pavers in our home. They were very punctual(to the minute), polite and knowledgeable. They were also quite accomodating, with our busy schedule. Before we decided upon awarding them the contract, both of them came in and explained us in detail about the different varieties of pavers available and also the various costs involved in the project. Carlos was very patient in explaining in detail the answers to all our doubts. What we liked was that he was very true in his conduct and did not make false promises, which he could not deliver. He had a great team, which was very efficient in getting the job done in a timely manner. They were very hard working and detail oriented. Carlos had a very professional attitude and completed the project exactly by the time frame which he had mentioned at the start of the project. Before we installed the pavers, we had to get our drainage pipes replaced since they had worn out with time. Carlos and Leo helped us with changing and laying the new water drainage pipes before installation of the pavers. We now have a nicely done up front and back yard, wherein the pavers give it a much more spacious and neat feel. A lot of neighbors came in to see the work and lauded it. I installed pavers and turf in my backyard with Brasmerica. Italo managed the project for me from Brasmerica. Quote from Italo was one of the most competitive one among so many other quotes I got from other companies. It was overall a quick process once I signed the contract with Brasmerica. The work started within 3 days and demo finished in record time. Next was material delivery and installation. The material delivery had some glitches which was out of Brasmerica's control I guess but the install work started on the day material arrived and continued at record pace. If not for weather related delays full install would have been completed within few days. I had a minor issue after the install was complete with my backyard gate. Brasmerica was prompt to send in the crew to take care of it to my satisfaction. Overall Italo was very professional to deal with and Brasmerica team did a excellent job with the demo and installation. I have a nice backyard now to enjoy for the coming years. Forgot to mention Brasmerica also provides a excellent warranty on their workmanship which was another deciding factor for me to choose this company for my backyard paving job. We hired Brasmerica to pave a new pathway to our house, as well as a new driveway, all on a sloped street thus with additional grade and drainage challenges. We worked with Hanniel, whom we highly recommend. He is an expert who managed our project flawlessly from start to end, answering all our questions effortlessly and guiding us through the entire process. He was very professional at all times, very friendly, and an excellent communicator. The crew was amazing. The demolition team was very efficient while being very careful about our property and our street. The installation team, led by the very talented Cesar, did its job at a high level of craftsmanship and realized our dream with basically zero supervision from us, once we explained to Hanniel what we wanted to get. At one point, we noticed one thing that we wanted to be different and they were very diligent in making the change. Neighbors came to see the final state and were raving about the incredible quality of the work. I cannot recommend that company highly enough. They did it all in two days only, at a very reasonable price, and left the property and street as clean as they found them when they arrived. After reading all the glowing reviews for Brasmerica here on Yelp, I hired them to do a project for me which was completed yesterday. Now, my only problem is to add words of praise to all the other reviews. Everything I read before is correct. These guys are great! I don't think I could have hired anyone better. Mine was a small job. I needed to fix pavers in my sidewalk strip that had lowered away from the curb causing a trip hazard. Because they needed to use the old pavers that had been laid years ago in a mis-matched way, Carlos and Leo needed to figure out how to arrange the old pavers in the best way possible for a good looking, even edged, long lasting job. Leo is a real craftsman in laying the stones in patterns. It was a real puzzle and they did it with a lot of care and thoughtfulness. I was impressed and they exceeded my expectations. Right from the beginning of the process Carlos was articulate and clear with his communication. He was very responsive during the process and they did everything as agreed to, were on time, and gave me a fair price. They are very professional. And really nice people to boot. Ok, so I do not typically YELP,...but these guys DESERVE IT ! We can not say enough great things about Carlos, Leo and his team of extremely hard workers! And this is no exaggeration. Like the many 5 star reviews they have received, they have earned every single one of them. They delivered everything they promised and then some..they were always on time, courteous, cleaned up every day, and if we had any questions or even just a slight concern (which, I might add, was only because I'm not familiar with paving) , they knew how to handle it and without hesitation. Our driveway was at the end of its life. Looked at several companies. Eventually select Brasmerica Paver Systems & Installation. We have not had a hardscape plan, which we would recommend. Initially we decided to do only a driveway and house entry's walkway, and later added a stairs from the street to entry door. The salesman Hanniel was very patient with us, since we were not able to visualize the plan and type of pavers. He help us select type of pavers, blocks for retaining walls, ... Given our experience with various contractors, Brasmerica crew was above average. Very dedicated crew has done an excellent job. They worked in period when temperature was high for our area. And work full 8+ hours, never leaving before 6pm, while be at place before 9am. They improve on initial plan by recommending some changes.Specially helpful was Roger who directed the work. Carlos was nice to talk to and deal with. Overall, the job was extensive, bit more than we have initially visualized. With it, the house has much nicer curb appeal. We got our Backyard and Sideyard pavers done through Brasmerica. They did a remarkable job and it certainly stands out. They understood our requirement very well and we are very happy with how it was executed. We had asked for few more additions to the original plan after seeing their impressive work. This company blew us away with how professional and excellent their services were. Carlos was great at communicating each step if the process as we has pavers installed to surround a huge area of artificial grass. We are very happy with the high quality of products and our yard looks perfect. We made some adjustments as the project was happening such as removing a step from the project, adding a gate, and adding a pathway to another area of the yard. Carlos made that adjustment seamless and didn't charge us more for having these changes which was honestly very generous of him as most contractors would love to add on costs with each tiny change. His team was efficient, fast, and got this project done within the timeframe that he promised and we were impressed from Day 1 with the professionalism and quality of work. Carlos and Brasmerica team are great. I found them for my backyard paving job through google search and reading yelp reviews (kudos to the honest and great reviews here) and they exceeded my expectations. Everyone was professional, hardworking, respectful of household stuff in the backyard, and did their work well. One of the things I liked the most is that they were flexible in terms of their design when dealing with tree-roots and other constraints and were accommodative of changes. I especially liked the paving crew -- the ones who laid the stones--for their care, professionalism, and wanting to make things beautiful. The demolition crew was great also. This is a top quality company. Carlos gave us an estimate on the spot to replace our 4 car driveway, concrete down the side of my house and the back yard. The demo crew was on site when promised and all work done to remove concrete done quickly and right on time. Extra dirt removed and base installed as specified. Brasmerica was fantastic from start to finish with our retaining wall. They started within a week of the signed contract and finished before the time allotted. Carlos and his crew were professional, prompt, courteous and listened to everything we had to say. The crew kept a clean and safe workplace daily. They also didn't bat an eye when we asked that the retaining wall be raised one brick level on a 30 foot section during the install or that they had to work around an existing fence.
