We had a very good lunch ordering the sauerkraut balls, chicken dinner for two and German potato salad. Chicken was cooked perfectly, crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The breading has a hint of pepper, very good. The sauerkraut balls were very good. The German Potato salad is old school delicious, fantastic flavors and texture, no skin on the potatoes. Our server told us it was her mom's recipe. Nice list of German beers, we chose the Spaten Oktoberfest that was on tap. The service was as expected. Fair warning the men's restroom is small and only one person can fit in there.

Had to hunt for a waitress and when we got one she acted like we were killing her for being there. The fried chicken was over peppered and over fried. I heard so much praise over the fried chicken and was sorely disappointed. Cole slaw was good. Won't be back

Don't be fooled by the name of the restaurant- the menu offers a variety of salads, seafood, sandwiches, German dishes, and their much-talked-about fried chicken. I ordered the half chicken basket with a side salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and dinner rolls. The chicken was crispy and lightly seasoned and the sides were good. Outdoor dining on the deck. There are minimal parking places so be prepared to walk a short distance. Suggest reservations.

Problems here. Service very very very slow. There was a sewer smell in the eating area (seemed to be sewer gas back up not sewer on the floor, probably coming from a drain in kitchen or bathroom). The tenderloin sandwich I got was delicious and a huge portion. The fried chicken the women got was also delicious along with the sweet potato fries. Bean burger was too spicy for my daughter to eat (and she is a pretty discerning vegetarian food critic). Bathroom space was limited. $60 for three people is not bad for a sit down restaurant. The service was just so bad (not sure if the kitchen had anything to do with it, but the waitress (while pleasant) was ignoring our table. I took some very loud to the point of rude, " Excuse me," to get any attention. I am not sure we will be back; there are better options in the area.

We enjoyed the fried chicken here. It is pretty juicy. They have a salad bar. Lots of room in this restaurant.

Stoped in for lunch. Was not disappointed. Some of the best potato soup I have had. If in Batesville it worth the 10min drive to eat.

Monday to Sunday daily specials, some menu items you don't normally see, frog legs and chicken livers. Don't hesitate to try this place out. The Saturday we were there there was an issue with the pizza oven so our crust was a little burnt in a few spots, and very brown on on side, but the pizza was still good, plenty of sauce, cheese , pepperoni, mushrooms. Our waitress apologized, and offered to replace it, but we said we'll take it, I like a crispy crust. The boneless wing are a hit, very good, they have a thin breading with a hit of pepper, and a hint of other spices, they are delicious naked. I got the sriracha bourbon sauce, and honey bbq, I mixed them for a perfect flavor of sweet and heat for me. Well I had to get a pork tenderloin, it was delicious too, comes with tavern chips, yum! The beer choices are from the Anheuser-Busch and Miller brand, no fancy domestic beers or imports, or local brews, but that means no expensive pints, and I rediscovered my original favorite Michelob! Wait staff is friendly and service was acceptable for a packed bar full of folks watching Big10 football. So if you're not a regular find a seat and they will get there, in a few minutes.

Lola's had the best record, so on we drove. The outside gave us pause. We decided to turn around upon seeing the industrial location with skeleton 'decor', but as we turned the car around we saw the back side of the sign. It said something like 'ignore the appearance, judge us on our food.' Soooo, we parked the car. Even worse than the freaky decor, the parking lot smelled AWFUL! A huge stench filled the air. AHA! I told my friends not to worry, because I figured we must have happened upon a restaurant my son had raved about not too long ago. A co-worker had taken him there for lunch and I remember him saying that it looked bad, smelled atrocious, but inside was sparkling and odor-free (except for good food aromas).. Even better, he'd said the food was great. Sooo...we went inside, and were quickly greeted and seated by a smiling waitress. The menu was heavy on burgers and Mexican, but had a child's menu, starters, salads and some good sounding sandwiches as well as desserts. My partner and I opted to share a pork tenderloin sandwich with a side of fries. Our friends had beef tacos and buffalo chicken tacos with sides of various chips and aioli mayo). The Buffalo chicken tacos were the clear winner according to one of them. I couldn't eat all of the pork tenderloin (half) on my plate; I should have done what my partner did - he set the bun aside and concentrated on the tenderloin. Good plan! That tenderloin was the best I've had. So tender, your toothless great grandpa could probably handle it easily. Yum! In addition, the service was excellent / a perfect counterpoint to the place we'd departed not a half an hour earlier. Just what we needed to restore our faith in dining out! Our friendly, sweet and helpful waitress got a generous tip. I highly recommend Lola's Modern Kitchen.

I ordered the Jägerschnitzel with kraut on the side. I enjoy a good kraut--this is the best I've had. The schnitzel was crispy and juicy and the mushroom gravy did its part to pull the dish together without overpowering it or making it bland. We visited on a Saturday evening, and were able to be seated right away. Our server was helpful, suggesting a dish for our picky toddler, and the food came out quickly. In the spirit of full disclosure, the house was not packed. We were one of 4 or 5 tables dining at the time. In sum, this is a restaurant that impressed me, and did a good enough job that I was inspired to write my first Yelp review. I recommend if you are in Seymour or the surrounding area.

The server seemed dazed and confused. We asked him questions but he didn't seem to know anything. We absolutely love German food so we were excited. However, this wasn't really German food. First, how does a German restaurant not have German beer on tap? Then I ordered the schnitzel. It wasn't pounded out correctly and was too thick to be considered schnitzel. The breading had no seasoning. My husband (vegetarian) ordered the veggie melt, which was on the menu, but he was told they no longer make it. He ended up getting a "sides plate." When it arrived, there were 4 of the smallest portions of sides ever. Why not just make spaetzel a main dish? Voila, you have a vegetarian option! My daughter ended up getting a pretzel because the spaetzel she wanted had too many other ingredients in it for her liking. That's on us not the restaurant. Overall, as German restaurant connoisseurs, we were disappointed.
