The crowd runs 23 to 73, but it leans Millennial/Gen X in the most comfortable way possible. Music is gloriously chaotic. Friday DJs spinning Zapp & Roger and funky dance vibes one minute, then System of a Down or The Smiths on another night. Emotional range. But the one constant is The drinks are always strong. Not craft cocktail precious. Strong. The bartenders are heavy-handed and the prices are shockingly reasonable, which means two or three drinks here will absolutely set the tone for your evening. It was flavorful, clearly made with quality ingredients, and far exceeded expectations for a kids' meal. My husband and I shared the torchietti with pork ragù. The pasta was perfectly cooked, with a delicious, well-balanced flavor and generous pieces of pork throughout. The house-made ricotta added a rich creaminess that complemented the dish beautifully. We also had the rigatoni pesto with pistachios and burrata. The crunch from the pistachios paired wonderfully with the creaminess of the burrata, while the basil pesto tied everything together. Another delicious dish. My husband ordered a peach cocktail, which he described as perfectly balanced. To finish the evening, we shared a scoop of their house-made vanilla ice cream and a large slice of chocolate cake. The ice cream was velvety, not overly sweet, and paired perfectly with the cake. The dark chocolate provided great balance without being too rich, and although the cake appeared dense at first glance, it still had a surprising lightness to it. When our food finally came out, it was cold. We let our server know, and when the food was brought back out, it was still cold again. After mentioning it a second time, we were basically told there was nothing else they could do. We were given the check with no real attempt to make the situation right, and at that point we just wanted to leave. What made it more disappointing is that I've been here before and the food was genuinely really good, so I know they're capable of a much better experience.
