I went in Bravata because they were one of the few stores that had the hair extensions I wanted to try out. I went in for a free consultation and decided that I wanted to order my natural color in the 12 inch length. About a week goes by, I get a call from them saying that the 12 inch was on backorder and that they can get the 16 inch instead. I am 9 months pregnant and about to go into early labor so I wanted to see if I can cancel my order. However, they told me that I can only put a credit on my account for a future service instead of crediting my card back. I do not understand this because they said they've paid their distributor already and that was the reason why they could not credit my money back. However, if the distributor didn't have inventory in stock, they shouldn't FORCE the customer to buy something else. I understand I can order the 16 inch and have it cut but as a customer, it's not something I want to do right now due to other circumstances and I should have the right to receive my money back if nothing has been ordered and it's a distributor vs. Bravata issue. I shouldn't pay for their issues. One of the worst experiences from a salon ever!!! I'm forced to keep a credit for services that I don't even want to return for. I DO NOT recommend this place for people looking for a good customer experience. Poor management, poor policies. UPDATE 4/22/2015: Shortly after I posted this review, the owner of Bravata did contact me and explained that there was a miscommunication between the receptionist who helped me over the phone and the back of the house management. She ended up refunding my card in full and I am extremely thankful for this. read more

My regular stylist at Bravata is Sami... I just love her!! She is the queen of coloring, especially balayage which I feel like no one can get right. I have a very ashy natural hair color that easily turns bronze when not lightened correctly, but miss Sami nails my color and balayage every time! The salon is so adorable, and someone always greets me immediately when I get there whether it be someone at the front desk or one of the stylists. They all talk as they go by, they are so genuinely sweet and bubbly! The owner Paloma is amazing as well, and her adorable baby boy is sometimes around to say hello :) They also do eyelash extensions... Can you say two birds one stone? The owner Paloma is simply AMAZING!!! I have very long, very health, very dark hair. I've always wanted it to be more of a medium chocolate brown instead of an espresso brown. It's hard to find someone who knows how to put in proper coloring. I wanted a lighter brown with more Carmel highlights. Not red, not orange, not brassy or blonde. Explaining this to Paloma and showing her pictures (along with telling her how scared I was) she reassured me that not only was she able to do it, but that she could do it correctly without damaging my hair and she educated me every step of the way. When she was done it was everything I could've hoped for. I have never been so initially excited and happy and pleased with such great results and my hair still feels very healthy and amazing. My daughter comes here for some fun bright colors and she is featured in one of their shop pictures. I felt I might be to old or not cool enough to go to such a salon. Paloma and her staff have made me feel like family. Paloma is very knowledgeable and very genuine. There was a mixup with the scheduling and Shirley stayed so I could get a haircut and not have to reschedule. This was super nice of her to do & I appreciated it. I will say she is super nice & fun to talk to - I feel bad writing this review but I am so pissed. I can say this is the 2nd worse haircut I've had in my life. It is several inches shorter than I requested and has tons different lengths of hair. I was in shock when I saw how short it was but thought I would wait to freak out until I had a chance to play with it. A week has gone by and I HATE IT. I can't do anything with it. On the left side, the ends just flip up - even after flat ironing. Also, I think she might have burnt my hair a bit when flat ironing. I asked people to smell my hair without telling them why and they said my hair smelled burnt. The best comments I received from my coworkers . . . - did you get drunk last night and cut your own hair? - remember that movie 16 candles & the girl gets her hair stuck in the door and they cut it - that's what the back of your hair looks like I guess 2015 will equal my year of horrible hair. Sami does my hair here and I've been so happy with it every time! She's amazing with coloring and styling. I had stubborn orange in my hair for the longest time and she got it out and recommended products for me to use regularly that really helped. I love this place... Its hard finding a good hair styles who can cut short hair. I've been to Seven, Gene, and other small shops even allow a friend who's a hairstyles to cut my hair and I've HATED all their cutes until I found Paloma. She doesn't an amazing job and I've NEVER had a bad cut from her.. I used to have long straight hair to by lower back and when I wanted to chop it all off I wanted someone who was going to make me look Fab and she exceed what I wanted. Went for highlights. Sami suggested i go for all over blonde because we foil so heavily anyhow. I decided to take the plunge. Sami warned me that the blonde will look strange when wet. I was glad she prepared me for it! I love how she took care of me and warned me of things on such a big change! After it was all done i wasn't totally in love and she said most people are in a bit of stock and it may take a few days to adjust, and she gave me options if i didn't like it in a few days. It's been a few hours and I'm really starting to like it and adjust! This is why i live bravata and sami! My boyfriend and I were in desperate need of hair cuts (it had been nearly a year since I had gotten a trim... yikes) so we called the salon and they were able to squeeze us both in day of which was so convenient! We absolutely loved our stylist, Enoch. He was so great to talk to and made sure we were both happy with our hair. I'm usually pretty hesitant when it comes to getting my hair done (hence why I do it like once a year) but I felt so safe in Enoch's hands. My hair feels fresh and healthy and I'm obsessed with the layers I got. He showed me how to style it as well which was awesome because I normally just let my hair air dry and call it a day. I feel so confident and I've gotten so many compliments already! My boyfriend's hair looks great too so guys and gals should all come sit in Enoch's chair!! One thing I really loved was that there wasn't a huge pressure to purchase additional products like I've experienced at some salons. All the products they use are organic and smell AMAZING. There's also a cafe/bar so I got a lemon ginger mimosa (the syrup was house made!) and my boyfriend sipped on a beer while he waited for me. With the help of Paloma and her knowledge, not only was she able to "fix" my hair, she made it better than I could have imagined. I've been getting complements on my hair. Let me start by saying, I have never had this bad of an experience anywhere and it's really upsetting because I expected the quality to be amazing. It was one of the places that popped up when I searched for good places for hair in my area.. the person that did my hair seemed very nervous, like he had never done someone's hair before. We decided on a toner for my hair to make the blonde stand out more and take out some of the yellow. I felt really nervous as he told me he had been new to hair for 3 months (as he was applying the toner). The first red flag was that it smelled heavily of ammonia and bleach, second was as soon as he lifted me out of the chair I noticed my hair looked SUPER dark. I almost got up and left before he noticed I was upset and turned my chair around so I couldn't see myself. Then he dried it and it looked fairly pretty, but it was NOT what I wanted. He turned my hair gray and made the excuse that it would wash out to a blonder color. so we left. It's been 3 weeks and I've had to cut about 3 inches off. It's so dead and falling out so bad. I have NEVER had this happen with a toner. Not to mention the color is now a dishwater blonde and looks awful. I can't even dye it to live with it it's so damaged. I hope this person gets training, or gets talked to about how to learn to apply toner. This was extremely disappointing. I'm waiting for my hair to grow out natural because of it. I wasn't going to write anything, or complain about this but someone needs to know so that this doesn't happen to someone else. It's hair and it grows, but my goodness it's toner, one of the easier things to put on your hair and my hair has never looked this damaged. read more

The salon came under new ownership recently, and really made some huge mistakes in my eyes. I've been seeing the same person for more than 5 years, and she left. I didn't get a phone call regarding it from the new ownership, and they just went ahead and scheduled me with someone I've never seen, and didn't bother to give me the heads up. I got a reminder SMS at the time my appointment was scheduled to start - needless to say, I didn't show up and I won't be going back there. They lost a long time client because of their lack of professionalism, and I will be going somewhere that is more professional in how they deal with these types of situations. read more

Kerri has been doing my hair for over a year and I have ALWAYS walked out happy. she gives a fabulous haircut, I don't get a cut every 6 weeks but even after a couple of months there is still a nice shape to it, that is a sign of a great haircut. I have my roots done every 4 weeks and she always has done a great job, it blends really well, no hot roots or a shade to light or dark, always looks perfect.when I do have it foiled it looks great. The best part is she is fast, I'm in and out of there and she is very pleasent and is attentive to my requests. And I swear she gives the best head massage ever. I'm not easily pleased and was paying a ton of money at Gary Manuel so I am very grateful I found her. What more could u ask for? read more

Let me start by saying that I haven't actually had my hair cut here. I tried. I made an appointment several days in advance, and was warned that if I cancelled my appointment less than 48 hours before, I would be charged for half the appointment. Well, less than two hours before my appointment, they called to reschedule, because my stylist was running late, and they didn't want me to have to sit and wait for a while. I made plans for this afternoon, and wasn't available at the time they had tomorrow. Would it be possible to just come later today, I asked. Unfortunately, no, because there was another client immediately after me. So this is my question. If you are so concerned about making a good impression on a first time client, why would you blatantly tell them that their time isn't valuable, and that other clients are more important than they are? And also, how is it possibly ok to charge your clients for rescheduling if they give you less than 48 hours, but think it's ok to reschedule for a client giving them less than two hours notice? So glad that you didn't want to inconvenience any of your other clients, Bravada, but thought it was ok to treat a new client like this. I'll be finding a different place to get my hair cut and colored. There's certainly not a lack of salons in the area. This salon needs to learn some basic customer service read more

You can't put a price tag on a really good stylist, and I'm glad I found one so close to home. I usually get partial highlights with some lowlights and it turns out incredible each time. Not happy with my experience back in July receiving partial highlights/lowlights and a trim. My stylist, who I was told is the owner and the best of the best, decided to not listen to me and pick whatever highlight and lowlight color she wanted on me. One side of my hair was completely blonde and the other side had an okay blend of the highlights and lowlights. I had asked for a more "natural" blend of color, which usually entails more lowlights. The haircut was just blah. On top of that, my hair appointments tend to take 1.5 hours. This stylist took over 2 hours! Don't recommend and would never go back. read more
