Came in this past Saturday morning for brunch. They open at 10am on the weekend. We got there right at 10 and there were already quite a few people waiting for it to open as well. We were quickly seated once it hit 10am. We sat in the more inside room. I wish we could have sat closer to the windows! The inside is very quaint and lots of natural light. Our waitress quickly greeted us and took our coffee order. I got an oat milk latte. My husband got an Americano. For food, we got the B&B giant cake (aka a huge pancake) and the B&B breakfast sandwich (croque Madame). Our food came out quickly. The pancake is very large! It comes with very little butter and syrup. We wanted to order more maple syrup (it is extra sadly) but our waitress didn't come over in time. The pancake itself was very fluffy and tasty though. The flavors went very well together though I think the squash was too salty (though checking their menu now it seems they've taken this off the menu). Other items I tried were the pancakes (big, fluffy, and buttery) and quiche (also fluffy and savory). I had a friend get the omelette and that looked good as well though it was on the small and simpler side. The side salads that came with each entree were really good with a light a refreshing vinaigrette. We knew it would be a wait so we're pleasantly surprised when for brunch the hostess said 25 minutes less if we were okay with outside. Over an hour and two visits to the hostess stand being told "I'll text you when your table is ready" she finally let me tell her my name and realized she didn't have us in the system. No apology but we did get a table. The service from there was good and the food was good, not amazing but there were veggie options. The potatoes were molten on the inside and a little greasy. The burger was good and the mushroom galley was good but mostly pastry. OMG! Can Ticonderoga continue their dinner pop up here after they restore their space?! I had a beautiful evening here, service was amazing! My friend and I enjoyed the mussels, tartare, risotto, and chicken. All the food was great, tartare was unexpectedly a little spicy and although we both agreed we wouldn't usually lean towards chicken it was super juicy and well seasoned. Had such a phenomenal time! Came in around 11 am on Saturday, sat within 30 minutes. The service is incredible - super kind & attentive. The food was delicious! Though not all pictured here we had the egg sandwich, the poached egg toast with pecorino + prosciutto, and a pistachio croissant. Everything was cooked so well & the presentation was beautiful. We had a couple of chai lattes with an extra espresso shot - also yum! Great serving size for the price too. The overall vibe is very nostalgic of France - obviously, but the music is low and you can enjoy a conversation without having to yell over each other. I tried the French onion soup and the baguette with jam and my mom tried one of the toasts I think it had salmon and greens on it. Everything was really really good. The servers were friendly and I have no real complaints but I did want to order another baguette and the server didn't come back until we had finished all of the food so by that time I didn't want to wait for it to come out when we were basically done with our meal. Came for lunch on my last day in ATL. Server was very nice and made up for the food. Didn't take a photo of the deconstructed Niçoise salad that I ordered but the beets made it better. The tuna and salad greens were overly salted. Oh and the egg was almost nonexistent - tiny pieces of egg whites blended with the tuna. The country potatoes were good though. Color me impressed with Bread & Butterfly. Our brunch experience here was excellent and, at the time of writing this review, I consider it one of the top brunch spots in Atlanta. While simple, the food was amazing and the atmosphere and service were both great. It was worth the 50 minutes we had to wait, but we weren't pressed for time or exceptionally hungry either. Inman Quarter, the fancy mixed-use development where Bread & Butterfly resides, is a fun place to hang out while you wait. This is a French-influenced European-style bistro and cafe. It opened in December 2015 and is sister restaurants with Cakes & Ale (Decatur) and Proof Bakeshop. You can street park in the neighborhood for free, though parking on certain residential streets during certain days/hours is prohibited without a permit. You can also pay to park in Inman Quarter's parking garage which has entrances on both Elizabeth and North Highland. Parking starts at $5 for the first two hours and increases by $2 for each additional two-hour increment. Bread & Butterfly does not validate. The restaurant isn't terribly big, but it's not tiny either. They have a covered patio, small bar, and two interior dining spaces, one of which opens up to Elizabeth Street when the weather is nice (essentially a second patio). It's got a whimsical European open-air feel to it. The tables are small and intimate. I wouldn't roll in here with a group of more than six. This is a great one-on-one or date spot. Reservations aren't accepted; it's walk-in only. You can see everyone's place on the wait list written on a chalkboard. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am to 2:30pm. To minimize wait time, I suggest showing up before 10:30am or at 1:30pm or after. The business also offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner service with a beer, wine, and cocktail list. Aesthetically speaking, the place looks fantastic. From floor to ceiling (woods, green tile, marble surfaces, period light fixtures, neatly arranged decor), there's a fine attention to detail. The environment is classy and elegant. There's a pastry counter with an eye-appealing variety of breads (e.g. croissants), cookies, donuts, pies, tarts, macarons, and other sweet treats. Coasters and saucers are imprinted with the Bread & Butterfly logo and servers are neatly dressed in white shirts with ties and aprons. Here's what I tried: Brunch menu: * Beignets ($6) - powder sugar * Pancake ($7) - butter and maple syrup * Avocado & toast ($14) - sunny side up, lime, sea salt, espelette * Soft scrambled eggs & cold smoked trout ($14) - creme fraiche, brioche * Scrambled eggs ($4) - two eggs (not on menu) Cafes: * Latte ($4.50) * Mocha ($5) Pastry bar: * Chai-flavored macaron and pastry ($5) The beignets were very good. Five come to an order. Bread & Butterfly's beignets remind me of Chinese crullers (youtiao), which are a similar deep-fried dough pastry, in terms of their taste and consistency. These beignets were crispier and chewier compared to other beignets I've had and they were topped with a relatively small amount of powdered sugar. They were served hot and fresh from the kitchen and were soft and appetizing. Bread & Butterfly's pancake was perhaps the best I've had anywhere to date. It was simply superb and it has to do with their batter. I don't know what's in it, but it's magical. The single-layer pancake was nice and thick with both "meaty" and fluffy sections along with delectable charred and crispy parts. The pancake came with the syrup already poured on top plus a cube of butter. I had to ask for more syrup to finish it. I highly recommend this one. I know what you're thinking: "$14 for avocado and toast? I can make that at home." No, you can't. Not this good. When I bit into Bread & Butterfly's avocado and toast, my eyes lit up and I had one of those "wow, this is good" moments. It was phenomenal. The avocado is served as a spread on the toast and it's topped with a sunny side up egg and sprinkled with salt and espelette spice, derived from French espelette red chili peppers. The salt and lime really shrine through and enhance the overall flavor and enjoyment of this dish. Three slices of two different kinds of tomato accompanied the toast. The soft scrambled eggs & cold smoked trout was remarkable as well. The chefs at Bread & Butterfly are somehow able to take basic dishes and make them taste incredible. Along with what seems to be pretty much perfect execution, I think they use some of the best, highest quality ingredients around. The eggs and trout were flavorful and mouthwatering; the capers piquant. Both the latte and mocha were wonderful. I could stop by here for the coffee alone, though this is more of a bistro than cafe. The mocha was particularly magnificent - strong, rich, creamy, and sweet. It really hit the spot. The pastries were exceptional. The delicate macaron is one of the biggest I've had. It burst with genuine chai flavor. I look forward to returning. read more

I went as part of the Atlanta Tasting Collective so I had a 5 course pre-fix meal. The meal was approximately $100 per person, not including drinks. Duck L'Orange: Small filet of duck but it had a great satsuma gel and fried shallots. Really enjoyed this one. 2nd course was some sort of grain salad with a ginger vinaigrette. Tasty but also about three bites of food. 3rd course was a lamb served over pureed black eyed peas with sweet potato chips. At this point I'm getting pretty annoyed. This dish had 3 pieces of lamb that were approximately thimble sized and 3 chips. The flavor was great but it was an insultingly small main course 4th was the trout with jollof rice. I've had jollof rice many times and this was the blandest jollof i've ever had alongside an extremely thin piece of trout Dessert was a tasty chocolate mousse with coconut cake and mango slices/ice cream. The cake / chocolate were good but didn't pair well with the mango. We got the bill at the end of the night and the drinks came with an included 22% gratuity. They must think very highly of their service that included me refilling my own water. They also overcharged my wife for her wine. Overall some interesting flavors but I won't be back read more

Only outdoor seating allowed at this restaurant. We enjoyed our outdoor seating location but we ate around 1pm in the afternoon and it was extremely hot. The staff at Bread & Butterfly took major precautions to prevent coronavirus. Almost to a fault. Whenever the waitress would come near our table we were asked to put our masks on. This is the first restaurant I have been to that tried to enforce mask at the table. The food was great. The portions were relatively small for the prices but we all enjoyed our food. We ordered several drinks as well that were slightly overpriced. The tomato soup is the best thing on the menu by far. It comes with a cup pastry on top and it was amazing. I ordered the omelette with vegetables which was overwhelmingly small. It looked like a one egg omelette. If I had not started with the tomato soup I would've been still been hungry after the meal. I heard a lot of good things about this place, but I ended up having the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. There was a large, dirty, melted piece of plastic in my pancake. I had bitten right into it because it was cooked into the pancake. when we brought this up to the manager, he rudely responded with "mistakes happen" as if serving customers plastic is a normal occurrence. There is a clear lack of care and cleanliness. The staff was unhelpful and rude. Not a single person apologized for serving us PLASTIC. The omelette was undercooked as well. Overall a terrible experience and I'd recommend avoiding eating at this place as there is a clear lack of care for the customers with no regard for health and safety. There are many other breakfast spots that care about customers in the area. I have never experienced anything like this before and I hope no one else has to ever again. We always tried on Sundays for brunch. There is usually a long waitlist and we never attempted to wait. It was much less crowded on Easter and we made it for brunch! Family friendly. Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my husband and 2 young children. They don't have a kids menu but my kids enjoyed the fried potatoes, crudités (carrots and cucumbers that weren't pickled), and tomato soup. Went to try this cute spot, for brunch. Decided to eat outside. I had an avocado toast with a poached egg and it was delicious!! The greens/ salad is not just mixed greens it was dressed lightly with a vinaigrette or a flavored oil that complements very well with the meal. Then my friend ordered the omelet with roasted tomato purée and feta cheese. This dish was good as well, the center is alittle runny because of the tomato puree, I didn't find it as flavorful as the avocado toast. To drink, I had a mocha latte that was also delish. After, just because we wanted to try dessert, we had the crème brûlée. The crème brûlée, also hit the spot. It was covered with a sugary shell, the custard itself was perfect, creamy and not too sweet. I loved every bite of it. I loved everything I tried, matter of fact. The waitress and hostess were very nice and helpful with any questions we had regarding the menu. The only con, was since we ate outside there was area with a large tree that provided shade. However since we had no cover and I worried about a leaf falling on our food. This did not happen, but still a worry, because a few did fall.
