    Calabrian Turkey Sandwich
    Benjamin P.

Bread Head is an unassuming sandwich shop with American-style sandwiches on their custom-made focaccia that seemingly resembles Tuscan stracciatella bread. Although the bread's outer-layer has a nice crunch, the bread's inner-layer is quite dry and lacks any sponginess. I wouldn't dare say that eating a sandwich of theirs is akin to eating fillings & fix-ins between two crackers; however, it comes close. The fix-ins and fillings themselves are good quality, and their sandwiches sauces are great. But for an establishment so inaptly named Bread Head, I'd figure the bread here would be better. Exercise great discretion prior to eating here. That's all, folks.

Count me in - I'm officially BREADY to be a breadhead! Was so excited that this cult favorite sandwich shop finally opened in Westwood village, and it's definitely my new favorite spots for sandwiches! They specialize in generously loaded sandwiches made from their fresh, housemade focaccia bread that has the most amazing, crispy and perfectly salted crust. So far, I've tried the Combo Grinder, which contains three different kinds of meat, and is perfectly balanced out with peppers, tomatoes, and some of the freshest lettuce I've had. They also offer a student/UCLA health discount, and their sandwiches are definitely worth the trek from campus!

This is the second location I've been to. Their breakfast items are bomb! I had their salmon sandwich and classic breakfast burrito, it was so good! Eating those two was very filling. Service was great, the employees were very nice. This is near UCLA so the atmosphere was nice, especially in the morning.

Not a big sandwich person, but I was very pleasantly surprised by Bread Head. I ordered the Calabrian turkey with garlic mayo, and all the ingredients were super fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. The real star of the sandwich was the homemade focaccia. It had the perfect texture, lightly crunchy on the outside, yet soft, chewy, and buttery on the inside. The bread was full of flavor and anything but bland. Just a quick side note: many of their sandwiches include nuts, so if you have a nut allergy, be sure to double-check what you order.

Parking in the area is terrible but I got lucky and my friend was able to drop me off to run in and pick up our order. We ordered the Calabrian Turkey and the Combo Grinder to enjoy and absolutely loved the bread that was used. Both sandwiches were stuffed (especially the combo grinder) and for the most part stayed together well. Unfortunately the combo grinder did get half soggy because of the ingredients. However, it was delicious and refreshing and surprisingly paired well with the Calabrian Turkey that was much cheesier. Overall, would be back again and think it's a solid sandwich spot,

Delicious focaccia sandwiches! This location just opened recently, and I've tried the turkey pesto, muffaletta, and roast pork and broccoli rabe (my favorite), and they've all been delicious. They have weekday daily specials which are their hot sandwiches, while everything else on the menu is cold sandwiches. Their ingredients are so fresh and the bread has a nice crunch. There's plenty of setting inside and the staff is friendly and will offer their recommendations. The only downside is their sandwiches can be expensive but they do have discounts for UCLA students and staff. Overall, would recommend to try it out!

PARKING: Walked here but I am sure there's a parking structure here! SEATING: Very chic seating! There's a bar with 6 individual seats with a cool mirror in front. Two tables with about 4 seats to each. It's a small space but I am assuming it's for to go mostly. Very cozy! SERVICE: Great service! I walked by and got excited to see Bread Head here. I didn't know there was a location here but found out today was the opening day! Our cashier, Buster, was extremely nice and asked if I had any questions but I didn't because I had been wanting to go to the other location so I knew kinda what was happening with the menu. The other two workers were very nice as well! When I walked out, I did see they were doing a promo for UCLA students so I wish they asked I was one because I am but it's okay--the sandwich is that great that I'm not upset about it. FOOD: I got the mozzarella to-go to sit in the Broxton Plaza and oh my gosh, that man was not lying when he said that it was a good choice. He asked if I wanted to upgrade to turkey but I wasn't feeling meat. It definitely would have elevated it even more but the sandwhich itself is PERFECT! The bread was just phenomenal, crisp, and delicious. The sandwich was stuffed to the brim with fresh and delightful veggies. It was like a breath of fresh air. The mozzarella was airy and milky like a cloud. The pickled red onions and za'atar spread really tied it all together. Everything in the sandwhich worked harmoniously. I would consider myself a huge Bread Head fan with just the one bite!! OVERALL: Definitely will be coming back here again and again because it is so close to me!! Wow! Thinking already what to get next!!

I'm rarely impressed by a sandwich but the sandwiches at bread head blew me away! The bread is made fresh throughout the day in house. We had to wait a bit for our order because they were baking a fresh batch of bread but it was so worth it. The bread is perfectly crispy on the outside but chewy and fluffy on the inside. Ordered the Calabrian turkey which was a perfect complement to the bread. There's not a ton of seating inside but lots of outdoor places nearby. Great place to grab a quick and satisfying lunch.

Parking: There is limited street parking. If you're able to find any then it's your lucky day. I think there is garage parking nearby, but don't quote me. I walked here (: Inside: The inside of the store is small, but comfortable. There are a couple of tables inside and counter seating. They have a water station and to-go boxes you can grab on your own. PSA there is no outdoor seating. Combo Grinder: This sandwich is it. If you're not sure and you don't know what to choose go with this one. It was screaming PICK me, CHOOSE me, LOVE me when I read the description so I did. It's hard to describe the taste, but your taste buds will thank you. I guess I would say it's tangy, sweet, buttery and refreshing. Pesto: This sandwich was pretty decent. It was very well put together, but it was a bit too bitter and salty for my taste. Also the cheese choice it came with was a bit off to me. Hours: Open 7 days a week from 11 am to 7 pm Weekday Hot Specials: - Monday: Meatball Parmesan - Tuesday: Roasted Pork & Broccoli Rabe - Wednesday: Cuban - Thursday: Reuben - Friday: Sausage & Peppers Overall: The prices can be quite pricey, but if you want to treat yourself I would say go here. 10 outta 10 will be back again to try out another sammie for sure. PSA - They give student discounts if you're a student at UCLA!

my family and i visited on a weekday and were lucky enough to find street parking! we ordered a BLT, combo grinder, and meatball parm (mondays only), and all of them were absolutely delicious! i will say that the bread is a bit crunchy, which made it difficult to bite into, but the sandwich itself is yummy. the service was fairly quick, and the sandwiches came out in about 10 minutes. there's not much seating inside, but they have outdoor seating options too! it's in a great location, so there's plenty of businesses to check out too.

Hit the spot! One of the many locations of Bread Head in LA. There's a 20% discount right now for UCLA students and employees with ID until 11/30! It's located right next to the Kreation so parking may be tricky if you're driving but walkable if you live in the Westwood area but if not can always look for paid parking elsewhere. Two individual tables insides with long table and stools on the opposite side. Steady flow of business when I went for lunch but no issues with getting a spot to sit. Got the combo grinder. Their sandwiches use a focaccia bread so just watch out for the crispy exterior! Wish that maybe they have different breads so you can opt for bread with softer/more pillowy interior but just a personal preference. The vegetables, especially the iceberg lettuce, were fresh and crisp with a generous layer of meat. The perfect amount of pickled bell peppers to help cut through the meat and cheese and carbs. Overall, solid sandwich spot. Not anything life changing but if you're in the area and looking for a quick place to stop by for a good sandwich this is your spot.

    Sherry P.

Best sandwich I ever had, the turkey pesto is incredible. At first, I was disappointed that they only offered their sandwiches (except the daily special) cold, since I always get warm sandwiches. However, I was surprised when I absolutely loved the turkey pesto. The bread is so unique and amazing, not bread-y and has an amazing texture that elevates the flavors in the sandwich. Pesto is homemade and delicious. I get it without the garlic mayo because the pesto is already very flavorful. The line and wait does get long during lunch hours, so I try to go at opening or in the afternoon. Casual ambience and small seating area. Overall, incredible.

I ordered the Toscana which came with Prosciutto, basil almond pesto, stracciatella cheese, tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and olive oil and my cousin ordered the Tacchino which had House-made roasted turkey, avocado aioll, stracciatella cheese, toasted almonds, tomatoes, baby arugula with no crispy onions. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, down to the olive oil. The combination of flavors is perfection. I'm excited to keep trying their sandwiches. It was VERY close! The bread is excellent and the cheese and meat are clearly selected with INCREDIBLE intention. The only problem is that the bread is huge and has a taste unto itself that is really good! Why a problem? Because the cheese was not sharp enough to penetrate the bread flavor and the meat was not deep enough to do the same. This was a (delicious) bread first sandwich. I like my sandwiches to be ingredient forward-facing. This is a me thing. You may absolutely adore this place. My friends got the tuna and I wish I had got that. So fresh and light. With the price, I didn't feel like asking for a "re-do," but I chose wrong haha I will try this place again and get something with less bread dominance. This is still 9.2/10 sandwich....I just happen to eat 30+ sandwiches at restaurants every year. The pasta? Super good! There were 4 of us so I stole some bites. Definitely try if you aren't use to AUTHENTIC European sandwiches. You're in for a treat.

Their mozzarella sandwich is a masterpiece with Fresh Ovoline Mozzarella, Avocado, Alfalfa Sprouts, Pickled Red Onion and a delicious Za'atar Spread. Probably the only other place that can dare to match their creations is La Zucca at the Beverly Hills Cheese Store. Some of our other favorites is the tuna sandwich. Service is always on point and the sandwich travels well for consuming it at home. There isn't a ton of space to sit, but there is some counter style seating. Tip: Their menu is limited by choice. Check their Daily specials (Sandwich of the Day) for inspiration. They have 3 kids sandwiches (all are meat based). Tip: The biggest challenge is parking, sometimes metered parking is available.
