The picture says it all: Absolutely incredible! I have heard so many amazing reviews of this place and finally had the chance to stop by when I was in the area. They have so many sandwich options in the menu I didn't even know where to start. The kind lady at the register was sooo helpful she recommended a few and I ultimately went with the one pictured. I can't remember the exact name but it had fig jam and yellow peppers. She said it was her favorite and I absolutely agree!! On top of the amazing food the workers were amazing! I will definitely be back!

The Lorenzo, a mortadella sandwich with parmesan cream, toasted pistachios, and roasted bell peppers
    Edward S.

Lorenzo's is a sensational little shop in a neighborhood where a couple red Ferraris might rush by you as you try to cross the intersection. Their attention to detail and enviable selection of the highest quality ingredients is unrivaled. There are only a few tiny tables inside and on the sidewalk, so you might have to take these treasures to go. With the finest imported meats, you'll want to keep coming back to try the other incredible sandwiches on the giant menu board. The namesake, Lorenzo, is a legendary sandwich with exceptional focaccia that is baked at their bakery. The crust is crispy with a hint of good olive oil, salt, and pepper and a soft airy interior. The layers of mortadella are sliced as thin as the finest silk with a smooth and snappy texture. Parmigiano pate is a rich and sumptuous cream made of Parmigiano cheese, cream, and possibly butter. Mixed with sweet bits of roasted red bell pepper and basil, the flavorful cream is a cool and silky exclamation point to the delicious mortadella. With toasted pistachios, you get sweet and nutty bites. Parking: There's some metered parking out front. There's plenty of parking by the mansions and the rows of tall palm trees.

2/24/2026 FERRAGOSTO Creamy stracciatella, spicy salami, salsa rosa, juicy tomatoes and arugula. Their salsa rosa is a creamy spicy sauce, but it was cool and creamy than spicy. The salsa rosa brought the sandwich together. Really delicious! All of it on their foccacia bread. Their foccacia bread is slightly chewy and crispy. It was dry and difficult to bite into when made into a sandwich. I felt my teeth fighting with the bread in some areas. It is not the perfect foccacia bread nor the type of foccacia bread I am used to, but the sandwich fillings more than make up for it. If you are saving the sandwich for the next day, after a few hours, the bread was getting soggy from the fresh tomatoes and salsa rosa. So I ate it all on the same day. I enjoyed this sandwich and would get it again. However, if I had to pick between this sandwich and the Rafaello, I would get the Rafaello. RAFAELLO Many layers of mortadella, sweet fig jam, crispy onions, spicy pepperoncini, creamy stracciatella cheese. Unique combo that is sweet and spicy! I was hesitant about getting this after it was recommended to me by the person taking my order. But so happy that I got it! The incredients were different than the other sandwiches and I knew I had to try it! The crispy onions tasted like roasted garlic with a lemony and citrus peel flavor. But the texture was crumbly with a small garlic bits in appearance. It was really unique! The crispy garlic and fig jam together with the mortadella really brought these pungent, sweet flavor and then the spiciness from the pepperoncini and creamy stracciatella cheese! This was so good, that even after eating the leftovers the next day, I did not want it to end! My absolute fave! I would get this again in a heartbeat! The wait time for sandwiches is not long! They make it quick! CUSTOMER SERVICE There were too many sandwich choices and so little time to make them, as the line behind started growing. The person helping me was kind and patient in helping me find the sandwich I would enjoy. She smiled and told me to return and let me know how I liked the sandwiches. Come to think of it, she may be one of the owners. SEATS There's two tables inside and two tables outside. All in a crammed space. Surprisingly, people still stay and dine-in. PARKING As always, parking is very difficult as it is located in the most busiest area: Santa Monica Blvd and Rodeo Dr. There is paid parking lots around the area and I parked at the closest one to Lorenzo California. But the pay machine was broken and the only option was paying online, but it was an international website with several choices of what country you located and even after choosing the country and city, it still was still having problems. I did not care to download the app just to make a payment. I parked anyway without paying and took a risk and hurried to Lorenzo California. Happy to find no ticket on my windshield when I returned. If you are shopping in the area, please park in the larger BH public parking structures. They have better and updated pay machines and parking attendants who can help. Also, the larger BH parking structures have 2 hrs. free too.

The best Chicken Parmesan Sandwich ;)

Lorenzo California is a pure GEM! I ordered their special Chicken Parmesan & it was the best sandwich I've ever had! Every bite had its own unique flavor cooked to perfection & the bread was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The Owners Renato & Cynthia are so lovely and are very kind souls! They even play epic progressive house music which means they have great taste! I can't wait to come back to try the rest of their sandwiches ;)

This sandwich was GOOD. Felt like my many trips to Italy where I waited in line at All'Antico. The bread was fresh (they bake it in-house) and soft and absorbed the sauce really well. I got the chicken parm and half a sandwich filled me up (I ate the other half the next day). Everyone liked their sandwich too. The owner works there and was very nice and gave me some extra vodka sauce when I asked so I can dip it in (without charging me). That's the kind of small business that I will support again and again. We paid about $100 for 3 sandwiches ($25ish each) and 3 waters ($4 each), which yes is kinda pricey, but I would say for Beverly Hills was really good. The place has a nice vibe, you can see your sandwich being made and has a few places to sit inside and outside. Chao!

    Cotto
    Hamlet O.

Very friendly service, great food, and inside and outside couple of tables you can sit. Ordered the Cotto and it's a must order. The bread is fresh with not too much dough, so you get to taste more of the toppings then more bread.

Not hyperbolic to say these are some of the best sandwiches I have ever had. These are fresh! We tried the Tonno and tramonto which were both super flavorful. The bread looks dense but is super light. It does not take away from the filling. The service is also top tier! The gave great suggestions and even found seating for us. The place is small and gets packed, so you may want to take your food to go if you go during a busy time.

This is a unique sandwich spot that incorporates interesting flavors into their sandwiches though can be a bit pricey. -Cotto: Bread has great texture. There is a thick flavorful creaminess. Pleasant hint of lemon flavor with each bite of this sandwich. The meat in this is alright. -Rafaello: This was my favorite sandwich of the two I tried. This sandwich tastes like a premium sandwich but what makes it special are the fig jam and crispy onions. The fig jam adds a pleasant honey-like sweetness which is really good and not too overpowering. The crispy onions adds an extra crunch to the sandwich. Bread has great texture as well though the meat in this is nothing too special.

There was no line on a Sunday afternoon. The place is small with only four seats inside, so it is mostly takeout. The staff was friendly and my sandwich was ready quickly. In less than 5 minutes. I had the turkey sandwich with added peppers. It was filling and large enough to save half for later. The price was on the higher side compared to typical LA sandwich spots. I would have liked the bread to be warmed or toasted, as the flavors were a bit mild. Overall, a decent option if you are shopping in the area and want a quick bite.

I ordered their namesake Lorenzo sandwich with mortadella and pistachios and red bell pepper for lunch. I was pretty underwhelmed. There was nothing very special or addicting about this sandwich at all. It needed extra spice or pizzazz. I think they forgot the fresh basil on my sandwich.

Went all the way to Beverly Hills just for this foodie destination. I love me some Italian sandwiches and I had to try it out. Had a few options but I went for the Lorenzo and added Prosciutto since I'm not the biggest fan of Mortadella. Delicious sandwich! Bold sandwich, creamy. Nuts in sandwiches are not weird, the Italians knew how to do it. I also saw that they had some seasonal items, I wish I went for the Porchetta or the Chicken Parm. There's quite a menu and I'd want to come back to try others. Unfortunately not a lot of seating, probably only for about 10 people max. At lunch time I wouldn't be surprised if you had to wait a bit to order and get your sandwich. Still worth the wait. Staff was very attentive, someone was going out asking everybody if they enjoyed their meal. They'll also come out to hand you a box if you need one. If taking a stroll or going around Rodeo Drive, it's a great way to take a delicious meal on the go.

Seriously the best sandwich ever.!!! The steak sandwich was so tasty that I wished I hadn't shared!!!

Phenomenal Would come here everyday if I could afford it. Definitely on the top of my list! The quality of the prosciutto, makes me feel like I just walked in an out of Italy. The place is always so busy, but they really take care of you. Santa Monica Blvd in Beverly Hills is so chaotic, but we are so lucky to have this restaurant in the city. Beyond amazing and highly recommend!

Honestly, it worked out perfectly because they had AC and it was HOT in Beverly Hills that day lol. The inside of the restaurant was actually really beautiful too! I loved the decor and the vibe felt way nicer indoors. Looking back, we probably should've just asked to sit inside instead of outside because of the heat The food was oh so so so very good! Everyone in our group enjoyed everything we ordered, from the appetizers all the way to dessert. HIGHLIGHT of our lunch: my husband and I surprised my mother-in-law with a bouquet of pink roses, so we asked the hostess if they could keep it in their cooler room until the end of lunch. After dessert, they brought the flowers out for us and my mother-in-law was so surprised and happy It honestly made the whole celebration feel extra special. There are other locations but this I think was the first one and since it was the one I frequented it's the one I will miss. I have so many fond memories of this restaurant. I came here as a little girl with my family because it was casual enough for a well mannered child but fancy enough to please the adults. One time I decided to get into shape. Every time someone asked me out for lunch or dinner I said I wanted to go to Il Fornaio. I would order a bowl of the vegetable soup or vegetarian soup of the day and the Regina Salad. The salad did wild arugula, couscous, avocado, red onions, capers, raisins, and lemon oil dressing. It was a fabulous and filling meal that also kept me skinny. I could honestly eat it every day and never get bored. During Covid I came here and we ate outside on the sidewalk. We enjoyed watching the pedestrian scene and "staying safe" while being able to eat out again. I really missed going out and I felt comfortable here which was important during Covid time. Every Halloween Il Fornaio would have 1/2 price pizza. My family made a tradition to order it. I LOVED this tradition and I'm going to miss it this Halloween. Their pizza was delicious. One time I came here with a boyfriend because they had a cooking class in the back. They had a huge entertainment room in the back of the restaurant. I wish I had a chance to have a special event here to rent it out. We had so much fun as we watched the chef talk about how to prepare each dish and what was even better is that we got to taste it in the end. We ate seabass with golden raisins, baked pasta with eggplant, and a cannoli for dessert. They even had a party souvenir which was an Il Fornaio plate to hang on the wall. Last time I came here was on the Fourth of July last year. It was also dine-la and they had the best deal of any of the dine-la restaurants. Not all the dine-la deals are good but this one truly was one of the best in terms of value for money. It was a three course meal with the most delicious fish entree. Who doesn't love a good deal? We had a fabulous time! Lastly, in recent years they added a happy hour menu to the restaurant and it was fabulous. I did another review on that so I'll keep it short here but the food and drinks were just wonderful. I will miss the friendly waiters who have been there forever. They don't make them like that anymore. Arrivederci to a true "classic"!

After being seated, we waited nearly 15 minutes before our server even acknowledged us. Not even exaggerating on the wait time. When I ordered a Twist cocktail and asked if it could be made with tequila instead, our server said he would check with the bartender. He later returned and tol us it wasn't possible, so my friend ordered a different drink instead. What was frustrating is that he never mentioned happy hour had ended while we were waiting for him to come back. We were then charged $10 for the original drink we never received, and the replacement drink was charged at full price because happy hour had expired. That didn't feel fair since the delay was entirely on the server's end. To make matters worse, a 20% service charge was already added to the bill, yet the service was some of the worst we've experienced. Between the long wait, poor communication, and incorrect charges, the experience didn't match the reputation or prices of this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it based on the service alone. FYI during happy hour selected drinks are $10

At around $30 per plate, this definitely isn't a cheap meal. One thing that was a little disappointing was that it was my fiancée's birthday and I had noted it on the reservation. We noticed another table receiving what looked like a special birthday dessert, but nothing was mentioned for us. My fiancée didn't want me to ask about it, so we just let it go and ended up getting dessert elsewhere. Not a huge deal, but it was a bit of a letdown. That said, the food itself was absolutely outstanding. If you're a pasta lover, this place is definitely worth checking out.

Happy to say it lived up to the hype. Work brought me to LA on short notice, so I wasn't able to make a reservation in advance. I showed up right when they opened at 5 pm on a weekday, and there was already a decent line forming. I was luckily able to grab a solo bar spot. Ambiance wise it's very high end, low-lit and romantic. The bartender here walked me through the menu and made a recommendation for the best wine to pair with my meal, which I appreciated. This night's menu featured zucchini blossoms, which I couldn't pass up. They were delicious, don't get me wrong - lightly fried on the outside and stuffed to the brim with cheese. But once my pasta came out, I wish I'd ordered two pastas instead. I went with the signature pappardelle ragu which I still have not thinking about. Fresh, chewy noodles made to perfection, drowning in a rich ragu packed with meat and flavor. Evan Funke is truly gifted and has really created something singular here. If I lived in LA, this would be the place I treat myself at every month.

I Especially loved the panzanella salad and the steak tartare and the lemon pizza. This is probably my favorite Funke restaurant so far, and I have tried Felix and Mother Wolf.

The Caesar salad was really good, and the branzino was honestly one of the best I've ever had - great presentation too. The kitchen staff in the back were some latino dudes but tbey clearly know what they're doing because the food tasted very authentic and well executed. I'm giving 3 stars for service because we waited way too long for our bottle of wine. When it finally came out, it wasn't the bottle I ordered, and our waitress Lauren insisted it was the same thing, which felt insulting because it was obviously not the same vintage - it was off by two years. At that point, I just wanted some wine already, so l let it go. That said, the ambiance was great, and the food alone makes this place worth visiting.

Would I recommend this restaurant? Not really…read more From the outside, the restaurant looks okay and doesn't particularly stand out, but once you walk inside, it's very cute and nicely decorated. The atmosphere is pleasant. Sitting outside in their back patio was enjoyable, while the indoor dining area is cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Everything looks appealing and well-presented, but unfortunately, much of the food lacked flavor. I ordered the Pappardelle Genovese pasta, and although it looked delicious and had plenty of meat, it was surprisingly bland. I even added sea salt to try to enhance the flavor, but it was still only average. The pizza wasn't bad, but it's not something I would order again. The drinks were fine and looked cute, but nothing particularly memorable. My favorite item was the beet salad. It was delicious and well balanced, with mixed greens, goat cheese, hazelnuts, and a balsamic vinaigrette. That was definitely the standout dish of the meal. Overall, the ambiance, decor, and presentation were better than the food itself. While it's a nice place to visit and enjoy the atmosphere, I probably wouldn't return for the food.

I know this place used to be pretty busy and booked but think the hype might've died down? But I love it cause I was able to enjoy dinner with my friends comfortably. We ordered the arugula salad, squash blossoms, bread, prawns in the salsa verde sauce, oxtail meatballs, the oxtail ragu pasta and carbonara pasta. The salad was delicious and the perfect start to the carb overload coming. It was the perfect amount of lemon that it wasn't overpowering. The squash blossoms were delicious! Definitely one of our top three dishes. The bread was airy and simple, but it was delicious. The prawns and the sauce. *Chef's kiss* The meatballs were delicious and definitely something unique and different. Definitely enjoyed that. The oxtail ragu pasta was delicious. The carbonara pasta was a little undercooked and the flavor wasn't there. It just tasted like butter and pasta.. that was probably our least favorite dish. Everything was good and would be back again to try maybe some other pastas or even the pizzas.
