Great food and wonderful service. Very quick in getting our order in and bringing it out. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Love the decor of the restaurant. It is small but very well decorated and great vibes

I am not much of a breakfast person, but we decided to grab a quick bite to start the day at this cozy little restaurant in the heart of the sleepy village of Carmel by the Sea The restaurant itself is quite small, and if you blink you could miss it. The interior isn't much more spacious, but it's cozy, older, and has character The breakfast menu offers a variety of classic and European style breakfast dishes. The plates are very hearty, well plated, and tasty Our server was very kind and efficient. Or order came out almost immediately. As someone who isn't a breakfast person, when I ordered the granola I feel like I was given an "is that all you want" Vibe, but all and all we were well taken care of Some tips: For coffee lovers, they only have traditional brewed coffee. It's tasty and hits the spot, but for those who prefer espresso drinks (lattes, flat whites, etc) you may have to stop elsewhere The granola was actually some of the best granola I've had in recent memory. It was simple yet delicious Check the sign in the main entryway for daily specials. There is also a lunch/dinner menu. And they have alcohol on their drink menu as well Parking would be difficult, so, you may need to park off the main drag, but it shouldn't be hard to find something, and the walk is fairly scenic Cheers!!

This place is awesome. The service is top tier- so friendly and also so quick! They were great hosts. The vibe inside is also very fun. There is some really cool art on the walls, and seems to tell a story. I'd recommend trying to sit in the middle section if possible- it has a cool mural around the whole room that's very fun. We sat in the front by the window and it was cool but I'd love to be by the mural next time. We split an order of the cheese blintzes and a waffle with eggs and sausage. All of it was amazing. The blintzes were so rich, it would have been a lot to eat by itself, so I'm glad we split it. The waffle was incredible, and the rest of the meal was also solid. It was also just so quick. Even though they seemed busy, we were in and out in a relatively short period of time on a Monday morning in May.

Solid spot with reasonable prices for good breakfasts. I would say their signature cheese blintzes are great but they're a bit rich if you're just having that so sharing with something savory might be a good idea. Inside is really cute and the paintings on the wall also have hidden pop culture references so they're fun to look at.

I hardly leave reviews after a first visit, unless ambience, food and service are good and in this case it was. The price was reasonable too especially this part of time. Oh ya and the unlimited coffee refills and the lady who serve it, likely the owner,

We got here on a Sunday 5th of July around noon. We were seated in less than 5 minutes. This place got real busy after we were sat down. I loved the place so much with its cute decorative walls and some interesting artwork and articles. I ordered the ye olde sweet, and my wife did the ye olde savory. And we shared the Cheese Blintzes. That for sure is a lot of food but everything was so good, I don't regret overeating because I got to walk it all off around Carmel.. definitely recommending this place to anyone I know and I can't wait to go back for the pancakes, it was chewy and thin, like a soft mochi texture. I was also spreading the cheese blintzes filling into my pancake and rolling it into bite size pieces.. Yum yum. I loved it a lot!

Cute place with friendly staff but food wasn't that great; just regular breakfast you can get anywhere like Dennys or at home. The Lox Eggs Benedict was salty and the hollaindaise sauce has overpowering mayo and kind of sour- something I haven't had before in a hollandaise sauce. This place was busy as expected on a holiday weekend. Can't say I'll come back.

Still love it here!! BF and I got a basic breakfast, and it was delicious. The table next to us was interesting...like demanding, I guess, about menu items and had no social awareness, but the server was attentive and bit their tongue. Be kind y'all. The wait may be a little long, but this is one of the spots that truly has American breakfast food that you're used with large American portions haha. The bathrooms are clean, and all the way in the back. It can feel a little packed, but you are not rushed to finish your food.

Ambience, Service, Food are all above average. Originally we're going to go to Katy's, but they were closed for maintenance. Swiss Cafe is a few blocks away and became the easy chose. Love the small restaurant like ones in city centers of older European cities with eclectic Dutch decorating (found out originally owned by Swiss person and later Dutch). Split lox (salmon) Benedict and we're very happy with choice. Would definitely come back.

Two eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns & sourdough toast/jam

Visited during car week on a Sunday morning around 9:00 AM. Not too crowded as we were seated promptly. My husband and I had a craving for Eggs Benedict. When the waiter came over to take our order we were informed they did not have hollandaise sauce. What?! On a busy Sunday morning shortly after opening, to not have hollandaise sauce was a big disappointment. We ordered an omelette with onions, feta, tomatoes, and olives with a fruit cup and whole wheat toast. The other order was 2 eggs over easy, hash browns, bacon, with sourdough toast. The jam was quite good. Service was ok considering how busy it was. Seating is close together, however if you opt to dine outside it isn't too bad.

Okay some may say my mistake was ordering a Mexican dish in a Swiss cafe.. but my goodness were they sooo off the mark in every way. See picture for reference of the "huevos rancheros". Not only was the presentation laughable but it also tasted like canned refried beans and store bought side salsa and guacamole. It was honestly the worst breakfast I've ever had. The waitress did try to warn me. She mentioned that everything was served on the side and "some people don't like that." She was SO right! We also ordered their Cheese Blintzes and they forgot to give us the side of fresh strawberry jam on 3 of our orders! The restaurant itself is cute inside but tightly packed. Honestly the 2 stars are for the kind and lovely waitress who tried to warn me about my order and because she so kindly provided books to my 10 month old. She deserves 5 stars. The food deserves one at most.

This is such a cute little cafe. Old world ambiance, furniture, wall hangings and limited seating. It's not a large place. I haven't been for years. I remembered having the best split pea soup here. We came on a Friday morning and we were lucky to be seated minutes later. The group before us went for a walk and came back after we were seated and ordered drinks. Do not go far, the host went outside to look for them before seating us. Strudel is good! Great side item. Pancakes - these are usually super thin and crisp, great with syrup. Ours seemed to be regular pancakes and not as good as I remember. Blintz are thin and some of the best I've had. Crispy hash browns! Ribeye - these are fatty and not super thin but kind of the ribeyes that you ate with ketchup as a kid. I was thinking this and then I saw the waitress bring two cruets of ketchup to two guys that ordered the ribeyes at another table. Coffee and orange juice is good. Friendly and fast moving waiters and waitresses. Not fancy, just a very homey place to have breakfast or lunch.

Cute decor and music. Great service and maybe the best eggs Benedict with bacon I've ever had. Perfectly cooked hash browns to set it off.

Went back the next day with my friends and we tried a few more. Lavender donut is not for me but was actually delicious and it's the only time I could say a positive thing about an after taste. It's a sweet glaze with lavender flavor. Our friends got beignets and wouldn't stop talking about how they made the best choice, so I'd say that is a solid choice as well.

Unfortunately, I don't understand the hype at all. I've had fantastic donuts from plenty of places, and these simply aren't in that category. To me, it tasted like a pretty basic donut covered with an excessive amount of sugary toppings and glaze. Instead of tasting fresh, balanced, and flavorful, the sweetness completely overwhelmed everything else. I couldn't even finish mine. It was so overly sweet that I actually felt sick afterward. Maybe this style of donut works for people who love extremely sweet desserts, but it definitely wasn't for me. This feels like another place that became popular because it photographs well and gets pushed heavily on social media rather than because the food is exceptional. If you take away the hype, I just don't see anything particularly special about the donuts. Definitely a one-and-done experience for me. I wouldn't buy another donut here, and there are far better donut shops that I'd spend my money at.

Extremely disappointing experience at Mission Ranch…read more We were genuinely looking forward to eating at Mission Ranch while visiting Carmel, but the way we were treated completely ruined the experience. We arrived with our child and were told the wait would be about an hour and a half. We understood that the restaurant was busy, so we decided to wait. Two hours later, we still hadn't been seated. What made the situation especially frustrating was watching the woman at the front seat people who had arrived after us, while repeatedly seeming to look us over and pass us by. After waiting well beyond the time we'd been quoted, with no meaningful explanation or acknowledgment, we'd had enough. We left. A long wait at a popular restaurant is understandable. What isn't understandable is giving guests a 90-minute estimate, leaving them waiting for two hours, seating later arrivals ahead of them, and failing to communicate what is happening. For a place with Mission Ranch's reputation, location, and prices, I expected a much higher level of hospitality and professionalism. Instead, we walked away feeling ignored and unwelcome. We never even got the opportunity to find out whether the food was good, because the front-of-house experience was bad enough that we weren't willing to give them any more of our time. Two hours wasted in Carmel. There are far too many wonderful restaurants in the area to spend an evening waiting around somewhere that doesn't seem particularly concerned whether you're there or not.
