There is a decent amount of seating inside and loved the decor, there were painting in the wall with a lot going on if you pay close attention. It had me laughing...it was in a good way. Expect to wait upon check in but the wait wasn't too bad. This is an incredibly cute cafe. Very tiny but the ambiance is exactly as the name would imply and very nice. My one complaint was that our waitress took about 10-15 minutes just to come to our table after we were seated. Not a single check in until I finally was able to get her attention. Once we ordered, she was super friendly and attentive enough that we didn't have to wait too long for a drink or water refill. The food was really good. What I liked most was the thin pancakes they seem to be known for. They were cooked perfectly and I did not feel over full after eating them due to the thinness. This place is awesome. The service is top tier- so friendly and also so quick! They were great hosts. The vibe inside is also very fun. There is some really cool art on the walls, and seems to tell a story. I'd recommend trying to sit in the middle section if possible- it has a cool mural around the whole room that's very fun. We sat in the front by the window and it was cool but I'd love to be by the mural next time. We split an order of the cheese blintzes and a waffle with eggs and sausage. All of it was amazing. The blintzes were so rich, it would have been a lot to eat by itself, so I'm glad we split it. The waffle was incredible, and the rest of the meal was also solid. It was also just so quick. The service was excellent and despite the crowd, they emphasized that there was no rush. Alas, the meal didn't live up to the hype. I had scrambled eggs and pancakes. The pancakes were good but not great. The eggs serviceable but not memorable. My dining companion had eggs over easy and they were perfect but the hash browns needed crisping up. Okay some may say my mistake was ordering a Mexican dish in a Swiss cafe.. but my goodness were they sooo off the mark in every way. See picture for reference of the "huevos rancheros". Not only was the presentation laughable but it also tasted like canned refried beans and store bought side salsa and guacamole. It was honestly the worst breakfast I've ever had. The waitress did try to warn me. She mentioned that everything was served on the side and "some people don't like that." She was SO right! We also ordered their Cheese Blintzes and they forgot to give us the side of fresh strawberry jam on 3 of our orders! The restaurant itself is cute inside but tightly packed. This is such a cute little cafe. Old world ambiance, furniture, wall hangings and limited seating. It's not a large place. I haven't been for years. I remembered having the best split pea soup here. We came on a Friday morning and we were lucky to be seated minutes later. The group before us went for a walk and came back after we were seated and ordered drinks. Do not go far, the host went outside to look for them before seating us. Strudel is good! Great side item. Pancakes - these are usually super thin and crisp, great with syrup. Ours seemed to be regular pancakes and not as good as I remember. Blintz are thin and some of the best I've had. Crispy hash browns! Ribeye - these are fatty and not super thin but kind of the ribeyes that you ate with ketchup as a kid. I was thinking this and then I saw the waitress bring two cruets of ketchup to two guys that ordered the ribeyes at another table. Coffee and orange juice is good. Amazing experience from start to finish! We were seated right away, and after ordering. Our food was served very quickly after ordering. I went to little swiss cafe with my parents and the vibe was lovely. The hostess in the front (larger lady with curly hair) who took our names down told us it would be a 25-30 minute wait and that's exactly how much time it took to get seated. Our server was a small ish middle aged woman with dark curly hair. She was quite short and rude to all of us. My dad wanted regular wheat toast with his food rather than English biscuits (what the dish came with as a side) but every time he asked her 'may I get toast with this?' she would respond 'You can get English biscuits with this.' She was making the whole interaction incredibly confusing and sarcastic. I order the eggs Benedict and I wanted to make sure it was vegetarian so I said no meat and she said 'Youll get what I've written down'. I confirmed with her a second time that I wanted it to be no meat and she said the same thing again. So unnecessary. Like she could just take in the info I was telling her that these meal needs to be vegetarian and be like yea cool I'll make it vegetarian. But no, she made the interaction unpleasant and confusing. We were one of the few non white people in the restaurant I am not sure if that had anything to do with it. When we got my father's dish, it came with the biscuits. I asked her again if she could give us the toasted bread like we had asked previously, she said you are getting what I wrote down for you and if we wanted toasted bread we should've asked for it. (?????) We had asked for the damn bread like 3 times. We eventually just let it go and ended paying for an extra side of toasted bread rather than the swap like we originally wanted. I do want to say, the food was good and the atmosphere of the place was really cozy. Sucks that horrendous service overshadowed the rest. read more
