Huge serving of soft serve and takoyaki! Unique flavors like matcha and strawberry horchata soft serve and fillings (we got the matcha custard). The matcha itself is not very sweet (which I like). We also tried the lychee strawberry green tea boba which was alright. Overall it's a conveniently casual shop with limited seating but plenty of outdoor seating and areas to walk around.

Absolutely delicious! I had the coffee soft serve with custard taiyaki, and Olivia had the taro soft serve with Nutella taiyaki. Both were amazing. The shopping center is cute and full of interesting places to explore, with lots of sweet and savory options nearby. Such a fun day in Riverside--we'll definitely be back!

This place is so cute! From the decor to the food. The man making the fish was so adorable. He was energetic and peppy when serving us. We ordered the Hokkaido boba. Okay. 3/5 Taiyaki with filling (Nutella, taro, custard, red bean, Oreo) 3/5. Taiyaki with ice cream ( strawberry ice cream and red bean filling) I very much enjoyed it 5/5 Plenty of space to eat outside. They do have a couple of seats to sit inside. Overall would come again.

Came on a Saturday evening. Wasn't busy at all. They offer the kiosk or the register to order. The kiosk different offer everything on the menu. So ordered at the register. The staff was rude didn't really care. First time here and I wanted to know what the best selling ice cream was but they answered with one word. But overall the place is clean. So many items to choose from. The serving size is was too much for a child, so just be mindful. We weren't able to finish one serving size. Also the chocolate ice cream was already melting by the time we got it. Which was weird. But the strawberry and horchata swirl was really good. Chocolate was decent just didn't like how it was melting. Would definitely come back.

Break the Ice is a local dessert place in Riverside county with a Korean flair. We stopped by for dessert after a big lunch to satisfy our craving for boba. Their signature item is the taiyaki ice cream reminiscent of Somi Somi. We ordered the horchata/strawberry milk and taro/matcha taiyaki ice cream. The consistency of the ice cream was not creamy or rich but more icy, and so it wasn't as good as it appears. Super aesthetic though! In terms of cleanliness, customer service, and atmosphere, it is a nice quiet shop with ice cream or boba options. However, I didn't think the quality of the ice cream was better than Somi Somi or specialty ice cream places.

Needed a late night treat, came here, and the place was jumping. Ordered at the kiosk and waited for my order. Everything was very efficient and tasted lovely. Great way to spend a summer evening and plenty of outdoor seating. Plus, there are many eateries, in this area, with lots of options.

A friend and I were in the area and wanted a sweet treat. I saw in the window that they sold boba and taiyaki, which I was surprised about. We went in, there are two entrances, side and the front. There was bar seating and tables inside as well as patio seating outside. The shop looks like your typical ice cream shop, with blue, white, and yellow accents along the walls and decor. It looks very sweet. The servers greeted us when we came in and said to let them know if we had any questions. The menu is on a wall and there are alot of options. There's the taiyaki, soft serve, milk tea, fruit tea, and smoothies. I chose the speciality drink (lavender with taro wave boba) and my friend the Thai tea with 2 piece taiyaki with Nutella filling. We didn't wait too long for our orders. There is also a restroom inside. I really like my drink but it very sweet and there was a lot of boba in it. Not too bad and the taiyaki was good but very gooey.

Came here for a sweet treat after having a hard day. Instant pick-me-up! The employee was energetic, enthusiastic, and kind! He helped us right away, and even offered a recommendation. He was also very quick/efficient, as he had both of our drinks and taiyaki ice creams out in under five minutes! We tried to tip but there wasn't an option in the tablet, so we went to the ATM at Ralph's to get cash for a tip haha Everything was delicious! The strawberry milk tea and Thai tea were flavorful, yet not overly sweet- just right. The Vietnamese coffee ice cream was strongly caffeinated, which I appreciated the energy boost! And the Taro ice cream was very refreshing in the hot weather! The taiyakis even came with Pocky/Pepero sticks and some mochi :) With the taiyaki cart decor and the many Nutella jars on display, the cafe is cute and cozy! It really is as their cups say: "the best bubble tea in town"

Break the ice is located in the Canyon Crest Shopping center! It is a super clean area, the staff is really friendly and the seating options are unlimited. The ice creams are smooth and served heavy. The amount in each cup is overflowing (in an awesome way). It does get packed inside, I would recommended siting outside to avoid crowds. read more

The ice cream is good, but the size of the ice cream is very inconsistent. We've been here a few times, and it's never the same size. Today was the worst, my husband's was decent sized, but I barely got any ice cream. I could tell the other worker saw it, but she didn't say anything. Not worth the price in my opinion. Break the ice could be very good, I've been to taiyaki places before and they make it a way better experience than this place. Non existent customer service and no please or thank you. They gave me my drink extremely sticky and the overall feel of the place just feels very bland. It's nicely decorated but the service and cleanliness of this place just makes it so much less appealing. The drinks and taiyaki were good though. read more

My boyfriend and I came to break the ice on a rainy day. As soon as we walked in, the employees were so nice and kind. I got complimented on my earrings! I got the horchata and taro mix with Nutella filling and it was amazing! The horchata tasted exactly like the drink. It was a perfect mix. My boyfriend got the watermelon and blue raspberry and he loved it! Definitely coming again to take the cookies and creme! read more

First timer at this location along with trying Taiyaki, and I must say the friendly service and decadent treats will definitely have us returning. There were many ice cream flavors to choose from but we went with the matcha and Taiyaki with Nutella filling and let me tell you, it was DELICIOUS. The matcha wasn't too sweet, and had a pleasant savory ending. The Taiyaki was nice and had a good crunch on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. We enjoyed it so much we took some Taiyaki to go and they were real pleasers to the rest of the family. Highly recommend this business! read more

I ordered the chocolate ice cream. It was rich and delicious. However, I gave them 4 stars bc I thought $4 for soft serve was a bit much. My friend's matcha taiyaki was close to $8! Love the location of the shop. You can eat inside, but there's a nice courtyard outside with tables and a splash pad. Awesome for the summer! read more

I always am on the hunt for the little guy's shop and this made me happy I found it. The parking lot is a little congested but take the time to walk over here. Everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming as soon as I walked in. They had cute decor and came out with my Thai tea with lightning speed. SO GOOD!! We got the Taro + Horchata swirl and Matcha flavors and both were amazing! The waffle was fresh and the filling was perfect too. We got the custard filling in one, red bean in the other, and they did not disappoint. We will for sure be coming back! This place is beyond good! the boba is so flavorful! I got the gone bananas smoothie and was totally surprised. it's not just a regular strawberry banana smoothie it's so creamy. Ah I'm so happy that a place like this exists locally. This is one of the great Asian influence staples that you can only find in LA or OC areas. Their Taro and Matcha are pretty much the best I've had. And my first time having a Taiyaki and you get to pick your filling so yummy, perfect crunch and warmth to pair with the cold ice cream. Honestly don't think you can go wrong with any flavor you can pick from. And to top it off they have Boba and milk teas! My 8yr daughter has been asking when we can go back. read more

This was our first time here and the gentleman in the front was very friendly and helpful. My husband got the ice cream taiyaki and I got the taiyaki by itself, one with with nutella and custard. They were so good! For those that don't know, a taiyaki is a waffle. So ice cream, waffle, and tasty filling/topping. Or the warm waffle by itself with filling. I loved the combination and can't wait to take family there. The shop is very clean and area was clean and safe. The centre is very well lit after sunset and there were lots of people. This ended up being like a date night for us and so fun. So when you see that line at the other ice cream shop around the way, skip it and come here instead! read more

Break the Ice is an amazing desert spot! We got the Horchata Taiaki and The Cookie Monster shake/smoothie. They were both great but I LOVED the Horchata Taiaki. The texture was great and wasn't too sweet. Although the Cookie Monster was good, it didn't really taste like Oreo (which is what it's supposed to be) It mostly tasted like A LOT of chocolate syrup which was very sugary. The place is nice and big with comfy couches even for those who are waiting for to-go orders. There's also a kiosk to order so you can make sure that they have exactly your order. Even at medium spice, it had a nice kick. There were no weird pieces either. The only downside is some inconsistency in size since a few pieces could be smaller. The mozzarella sticks were also very good. I prefer them with ketchup instead of marinara. They are your typical mozzarella sticks and taste good, but the popcorn chicken is what really stands out.

So you will always have one half that has less chicken and ends up being part veggie pesto sandwhich, which is still worth it. The other favorite is a turkey club sandwhich on a croissant. It's basic, but also very tasty. They also carry a variety of pastries and serve Klatch coffee (brewed coffee) if you need a sweet treat afterward.

The cut of the meat can be chewy at times, and then also more lean and tender other times. Sometimes it comes with large pieces of chewy fat, which isn't quite to my taste. The sandwich options generally are a good value. I do kind of wish they switched up their menu a bit more often, since this current menu is rather basic and they have had more interesting food options before. Overall, a decent choice for a more premium coffee, tea, and food for the Downtown/UCR area of Riverside. Service is okay, and I have had somewhat mixed experiences with that. The employees generally seem pleasant and they're nice, but I have gotten incorrect orders at least a couple of times. During this particular visit, in which the photos are from, I had to ask two different people to get extra napkins. Our actual server was the first to acknowledge, then possibly forgot and didn't come back.
