    The Godfather Scramble

Fantastic local restaurant with outstanding food. Highly recommend The Godfather egg scramble. Scrambled eggs with sausage, onions, peppers, jalapeños and melted provolone cheese on top. Just the right amount of spice and flavor. We have also used for catering and guests still rave about the food! Thank you Sweet Jean's!

Writing this review as a breakfast/brunch spot. I think it is still a hidden jem because place was busy but we did not have to wait for a table on a Sunday. Specials are on point! Pancakes are soooo fluffy! A true dream!! Just wish the pancake add ins we're a little more mixed into the pancake. Seemed like they just piled mine on top, but still tasted great. Coffee is flowing and tastes better than typical breakfast joints! Food takes longer than a typical diner to come out but it's worth it. Can't wait to try more of the menu, the Benedict, chicken and waffles and spicy hash browns caught my eye!

I had to run some errands so of course I jumped on Yelp to see what this small town had to offer for lunch options. I found Sweet Jeans Cafe & have to admit the prices didn't have me jumping for joy. But I rationalized it because they are a small owned business, in a small, not so well known town during these tough inflated times. I submitted & paid for my order right on Yelp. About 20-30mins later, (I was late) I pulled into their private lot & saw some wooden benches. While making a mental note for the spring/summer, I parked right in front. It was freezing today. Upon walking in, it's much bigger than it appears from the outside. I absolutely love the wall of doggy paintings behind the register. There's a small bar counter across the way with about 4 stools & the dining area opens & stretches to the left end of the building, with tables & chairs, seating 4 people each. The atmosphere has a casual, relaxing coffee shop vibe. I remember thinking, I could come work from here if I get tired of looking at my walls. There were maybe 2-4 people that I could see, dining in so it'd definitely be quiet. I didn't check the outlet situation, but they're only open until 2p anyway. I gave my name at the register & my order was wrapped up, bagged, & ready to go. I ordered The Boom-Boom Sandwich & let me tell you, if you get hit in the sweet spot with this guy, you're down for the count. This "sandwich", it's more like a full size grinder, it's a hefty boy. It's not only heavy, it also smells divine. I couldn't wait to get it unwrapped. Good things come to those who wait. After I removed the classic white paper secured with masking tape, I was stunned. It was beautiful...seriously. It could be in a commercial. Sweet Jean's didn't skimp on the ingredients whatsoever. I honestly feel the money was well spent. It even came with a bag of Deep River potato chips. Score! on supporting another CT family owned business. Back to the program...there's no doubt about the contents of this sandwich all being fresh. First of all the sandwich was still warm. Tomatoes were ripe & a nice thickness for a sandwich. Bacon was real & not the thin, frozen flat kind. Shredded lettuce was crisp, nothing soggy or brown. The sauce is creamy & amazeballs. The fried chicken is crunchy & definitely all white meat. Didn't detect any rib meat & it's so savory. There was nothing dry about it. There's a hint of spice. I couldn't determine if it was the chicken or the sauce. I knew when I layed my eyes on this, I wasn't going to come anywhere near to eating both pieces. That's fine with me, I get to take my taste buds on the adventure again tomorrow or later tonight depending on how strong my will power is. I'm definitely looking forward to working off site here & enjoying more of the menu along with the atmosphere.

Came for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We were seated right away. We ordered coffee and tea and placed our order. We waited and waited for about 30 minutes for our food to come out. Our expectations were not high at this point. The food finally came and it was delicious. My Blazing Omelette was cooked perfectly and my hot home fries were very good. We were not happy about waiting so long but it was well worth the wait.

Sweet Jean's first opened during the Covid pandemic, so I figured they didn't have a chance. But East Hampton is so lucky that this restaurant stayed in business and thrived! Since it's often crowded, especially on weekends, we felt lucky to get in this morning around 9:15 without any wait - but by the time we left there were a half dozen people on the comfortable bench at the entrance waiting to be seated. It's a cheerful and spacious place, with friendly servers. My husband had the French toast with peaches and cream special while I enjoyed the egg scramble with Cheddar, spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Yum! We have not had a bad breakfast here yet. They are open through lunch and have a kids menu as well.

Food was average.. and so was the service. Went for brunch with my family and we waited quite a bit (40-45 mins after ordering) to get our food. I am usually patient, but what bothered me the most is that no one checked up on us and it almost seemed like no one really cared about our table. Other people were being served their food, even those who came in after us. Our waitress was polite overall, but once again, never did check up on us at all during the entire 40-45 mins we were waiting. We ordered sides (tater tots, fresh fruit, and toast) that I felt could've been served to us prior to our main dishes to make it a better experience versus waiting that long for our first bite. I ordered the pitrone sandwich. It was not awful, but it did lack flavor and it was a little dry. The bread was not fresh and the eggs had no seasoning. The chicken was cooked nicely and the hot honey was good, but it wasn't enough to make it a good sandwich. The dry bread and the unseasoned eggs overpowered the sandwich. Pros: The prices are okay and the place is clean. It's always good to support a local business. However, I do not see myself returning in the future and I will probably not recommend my family/friends to eat here. The food isn't something that I would crave or come back for. And the service was not great. There are great places that I would rather eat at than here.

I'm basing this review on take-out only, as Sweet Jeans opened right around the time COVID lockdowns started in the Spring and I've not dined out since. We first tried a couple of the family take-out dinners and quickly became fans of their chicken tenders. These takeout meals provide a great value. My favorites have been their grinders. Namely their Italian Hero grinder which is the best of its kind in the area. The wife and kids have really enjoyed their breakfast specials such as the Mexican scramble and the cannoli French toast. The burgers are quite good too. It fills a niche in East Hampton that was lacking - a family friendly diner. As mentioned, I haven't dined in, but the inside space is inviting with a breakfast counter along one side and table seating. The decor matches the food with an eye to comfort. The take-out service has been friendly and competent. There was once that I had to wait quite a bit longer than expected. I suspect they misplaced my order or were exceptionally backed up. But I'm a patient man and especially during the pandemic where many restaurants are finding themselves short-handed, I can cut them some slack. Sweet Jean's has definitely earned its spot in our rotation of local favorites.

    Eggs Benedict with home fries.

Good local spot for breakfast. Good vibes and good friendly service. They are very accommodating to young children with a kids menu, high chairs etc... We have been here multiple times for either breakfast or lunch and the food is solid. Good Eggs Benedict! The Hollandaise sauce is perfect. The coffee is lackluster in my opinion, and could be hotter also; which brings me to my only complain about Sweet Jean's... cold food. I have been served on multiple occasions and been served cold home fries, biscuits and gravy, other sides, etc... I don't know if it sits at the window too long or if it comes out of the kitchen that way, but it is disappointing and for that it gets knocked a point in my book. Despite, I still stand behind my rating. I think the food and service are solid and the ambiance is great and will continue to comet here; and if anything changes I will update my review.

Love the area, quintessential New England Country charm. As a pescatarian, I was happy to find several menu options! Yay! The service was fantastic from start to finish. The food was above average, and the prices felt fair for the quality and atmosphere. The only thing that stood out to me--and this may sound a little unusual--was the clientele. We were by far the youngest diners there. Curious, I asked the staff if that was typical, and they said it was. That said, if you're looking for a quiet, relaxed dining experience with great service, fair prices, and a pleasant setting, this restaurant is worth a visit. Also, I was told that they have live music on certain nights during the week. Not sure what kind of music it would be, my guess would be Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. Lol.
