We were greeted upon arrival and were told we could sit wherever we wanted. It's decorated red white & blue and they proudly support police, firefighter, EMT, military etc. This seems like a spot where you become a "regular" the staff was SO NICE! Best breakfast I had while visiting Connecticut. Had the ribeye steak and eggs with homefries and English Muffin. Steak was cooked perfect and also seasoned perfectly, didn't need anything added, very close to tasting like Texas Roadhouse. Eggs were also cooked perfect as ordered. I absolutely love this little diner. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The food is average diner food. It's not a 5 star restaurant but they are friendly to the military and first responders. Had to stop in at this Newly opened restaurant. I was greeted upon entering and was asked to sit wherever I'd like to. I chose to sit at the bar area because it was just me. As you look around the restaurant, the decor was great. American Flag themed. If you love The USA, you will like the decor. I did! Because I'm not able to eat a lot, I only ordered a coffee and toast. Coffee was hot and tasted good, toast came out crispy as you would expect. Next time I come back I will come with a big appetite so I can try one of the many options they have for breakfast. The menu is very diverse and they will make things to order if requested. I enjoyed a great conversation with an older gentleman, Bob, that was also sitting at the bar. Definitely took me back a few years when people actually had conversations with others. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Restaurant was very clean. Owner was very nice as well and held conversations with the patrons, vice only serving food and drinks. I stopped around noon and the restaurant was almost completely full. Many locals come to enjoy breakfast and lunch here. There was plenty of parking. A little bit of seating outdoors in case there was a wait. If you were in a rush, I would not recommend this place, Only because it has more of a country feel where you would come in and just take your time and enjoy your breakfast and enjoy the conversation with your friends or family you come with. It's not a huge diner so we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table for four. The staff were all friendly and took our order quickly. The coffee was not the best I've had. They remodeled the old Smakosh restaurant to an American diner. It's very clean and bright inside. EMT, Police, Fire, Military get free coffee with their meal. Overall the prices are extremely reasonable. My dad had the Hungry Woman: 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 french toast, and toast. He absolutely enjoyed his meal. He especially liked the French toast. I had the Philly Breakfast Sandwich with a side of the homemade hash. The sandwich was good but I'd probably get the western sandwich next time. The homemade hash totally stole the show. I'm a sucker for a good homemade hash and hate the canned stuff. This hash was tasty and crisp. I'll definitely be back for more of that hash. The staff were very friendly, greeting everyone. A customer had come in and then told a waitress that he was leaving because Fox News was on the tv. If he had only turned around, he would've seen CNN on the other tv. My first impression when walking into the diner was good since they had a very patriotic decoration theme. However, it took the waitress about 10 minutes to come over to our table after sitting. My wife ordered over-easy eggs, sausage, and country-style potatoes; unfortunately, the potatoes were undercooked. I also had over-easy eggs, sausage, and two hashbrowns; unfortunately, the hashbrowns were severely over-fried, and all I could taste was the grease. Yelp said this was a great breakfast spot so I wanted to give it a try. Love the ambiance and how it was decorated in a red, white and blue theme. The next amazing thing was the friendliness of the staff. Most places in this area aren't as friendly. They get 5+ stars in this category. The food was excellent with huge portions. I actually ordered sides and made my own eggs Benedict because their offering was huge and I don't eat that much food. The servers were great, constant filling up of coffee and friendly :) There was lots of regulars and you'll understand why when you try it out.
