Went during the week in the morning there was a line outside even though there was lots of empty seats. The person letting people in is the same one taking the orders and making drinks hence the long line outside. I got the pancakes and chicken special the pancakes were good and the chicken was crispy and great flavor. The service was ok but not the best. The hype is real, but come early. I've never had oatmeal griddle pancakes before but these are AMAZING. Literally my favorite pancakes in the city. I got the 2x2x2 for $18. I also chose banana chocolate chip pancakes and my friend got the original. The oat cakes are delicious. My recommendation is to go with the original. It's a thin, but very flavorful oat cake with molasses butter. Because of the nature of the pancake, it doesn't hold things like banana and chocolate chip very well. Still delicious, but it turned into a mush. The soft scrambled eggs are the most rich and beautiful yellow I've seen. I wonder how they do it. The pork sausage is a must, so good. By the time we left (around 12:00 pm), there were quite a few tables that were empty and no line. The interior had pretty good natural lighting and felt very homey. We got the 2x2x2 (2 pancakes, 2 sausages, and 2 eggs where we customized the pancakes for one to have chocolate chip and one to have banana), and it tasted amazing. I really liked the molasses butter on the original one, but I wished they had given more on the side. The edges of the pancakes were pretty crispy, but once you got to the middle, it was a bit more gooey and moist. Overall, really liked the pancakes, where the flavor of the oats makes it taste incredible. We came in when they opened at 8am on Sunday morning to avoid waiting in line. We ordered and grabbed a table right away. I had one blueberry, chocolate chip and banana griddle cake. When we brought it up, the staff got defensive, argued that we hadn't ordered it, and literally brought out the receipt to prove us wrong. Always a hit! This was my first time at this location (I typically frequent the Carroll Gardens one). We arrived at around 9:30/9:45 and there was already a short line of about 15 people ahead of us. We waited for probably 30 minutes, at which point there was a very long line behind us, before getting seated. We were a party of 5, and we made sure to decide what we wanted to order while we were waiting outside. You have to order at the counter before sitting down, and we each ordered the OG pancakes (with one dairy free). We sat down and got our food within 10 minutes. The staff here are all really nice and the inside feels like an old school diner. Some places you need to order the specialized flavors in order to actually get something good. But for here, the original can stand on its own! No syrup! My friend and I decided to check out Breakfast by Salt's Cure around 12:30pm on a Wednesday. The concept of an oatmeal griddle cake was new to me, so I don't have a point of reference to compare. You order and pay at the cashier, then find a table to sit at. There were no check-ins or water refills, so it's not necessary to leave a 20% tip. I asked the cashier for recommendations, and he said he would recommend the OG because it's the original, or the blueberry, his personal favorite. Since I had never tried a griddle cake before, I thought I should stick to the OG ($10). My friend got the banana nut ($14). I thought the prices were very reasonable for the griddle cakes. However, I would HIGHLY recommend getting something with flavor in it. The OG is served with cinnamon molasses butter, but the portion of butter was tiny, and it was overall very flavorless. This is worsened by the fact there is no syrup. I tried my friend's banana nut, and it was worlds better than the OG. My friend does caution that it is a lot of sweetness, but that's not something that bothers me.
