Shrimp and Ricotta Frittata with an English muffin
    Bridget G.

I met a friend here for a late lunch on a Sunday. We arrived around 1:30 PM and had no problem getting a table, but I hear there is a wait during peak hours! There is also free parking underground in the building! We started by splitting a bottle of Brut ($28) which came with 2 juices to mix. I'd probably skip the guava next time... it came as a super thick puree that didn't mix into the bubbly, even with stirring. But they offered orange, cranberry, grapefruit, lychee, and others I'm sure I'm forgetting! The food menu and drink menus were great, with almost an overwhelming number of options. I decided on the shrimp and ricotta frittata, my friend ordered the jambalaya, and we split the house-baked coffee cake. You can upgrade anything with bacon to include Jurassic Pork (thick-cut bacon cooked in brown sugar) so why not? Everything was beautifully presented and tasted delicious, and the portions were large. I loved the little details on everything... egg-shaped salt and pepper shakers and cute little chickens on my side dish of sour cream. We also noticed that the servers were all super nice, attentive, and they just seemed to enjoy working there and to be having fun. One of them recommended bars we could go to after they closed, and we saw a group of them hanging out at the same bar. We just picked up on good vibes overall. Breakfast Republic is at a great location in Downtown Culver City and you can make an afternoon or day of it, with everything else in walking distance.

So i had to order to go due to work, but right when i walked up i was greeted right away and once i said picking up walked me to the bar and said the bar tender would take my order and right away asked me if i needed help with the menu if i was thirsty just amazing customer service! Super friendly! I thought the look of it was pretty cool i like the egg chairs they have out front! The food was great, i had a basic breakfast but it was great and its not expensive either! I didn't get a picture of the inside but you will have to come check it out !

In the land of good brunches that is Culver City, this place is pretty good. My friends and I have come here twice. It definitely gets crowded on Sundays. Luckily we've never had to wait more than 30 minutes. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. I like the variety of breakfast options on their menu. This time, I went for the chicken fennel sausage scramble to be on the healthier side. I actually really enjoyed the breakfast potatoes and the toast with jam too. Really wanted to try their fresh squeezed OJ but they were out that day. Looking forward to coming here again!

I came for breakfast on a Sunday and was seated right away(I heard there's always a wait time). The waiter was friendly and she told us about the coffee they have . I ordered a breakfast republic vanilla latte and the chilaquiles. Really delicious food but I wish they had a little bit more sour cream on the chilaquiles. The food came out fast even though the place was busy. Parking was tough to find. We tried for street parking but there was none so we parked in a structure close by and it was $15.

I had the shrimp and grits, it was amazing! I doubled back 3 days later and it hit the same. My only complaint is the space, it was a little cramped but overall the service was great!

Tried this place for the first time. We went for brunch. It's a nice little spot. Theres free parking in the building and seating inside as well as outside. I ordered the Bae Mac with scrambled eggs, jack cheese and Jurassic Pork. The Jurassic Pork was salty/sweet but I would probably have it again but by itself. I want to taste more of the Jurassic Pork lol. It mixed well with the cheesy mac n cheese. Maybe too well lol. The Bae Mac was very cheesy, especially with the Jack cheese. Also tried it with the Cluckin' Good hot sauce. Not bad! Overall a nice eating experience. I wouldn't mind coming back to try the rest of the menu.

Breakfast was okay. We arrived early for a girls 8:00am birthday breakfast date. Nothing special to remember. I do recall that they don't offer a kids menu. I did see another child in at this time. Something for them to consider. A pancake and a piece of bacon on a kids menu would be a HIT! Place was mostly empty and there is free street parking on Sunday mornings. Bon apetito!

Stopped by Breakfast Republic for the first time and overall had a good experience. We arrived around 11am and were surprised there was no line. The host greeted us right away and was very friendly. I ordered the fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was delicious. For breakfast, I got the American, three eggs, house potatoes, bread, and your choice of sausage or bacon. I went with the chicken fennel-Asiago sausage and it was really good. We asked about the pancake options and were told we could substitute them for the bread, but didn't realize there would be an extra charge, so a little more transparency there would help. Service was friendly, though it felt a bit rushed even though it wasn't too busy. The atmosphere is welcoming and it's a great spot if you're craving breakfast. Parking can be tricky. Street parking is limited, but the Culver Garage about two blocks away offers the first hour free. There's also an underground garage that validates the first 30 minutes, but after that it's about $2.75 every 15 minutes.

Busy place for brunch, good-sized outdoor patio as well as indoor space. High ceilings and sort of a rustic vibe inside. Portions, at least for their more signature dishes, are pretty substantial-- the couple next to me at the bar ordered three (chilaques, I think a strawberry pancake stack, and omelet) that were massive. As they had space at the bar I was able to bypass the wait for a table immediately, not sure how long that wait would have been? I went for more reasonable, a normal stack of pancakes and some eggs-- pricing on both was surprisingly reasonable, and quality was good. Service was friendly and definitely well-intentioned, but you could tell they got a little busy, which is hard on the staff.

Great as always...food, service and energy! Wait wasn't bad on a Sunday around 12:30. This is a solid breakfast option!

Breakfast Republic has become one of my favorite breakfast spots. The food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and the menu offers something for everyone. I'm especially obsessed with their sensational and strong Bloody Marys--perfectly crafted and packed with flavor. The shrimp and yellow polenta is a standout dish that's rich, comforting, and unique. Their breakfast burritos are generously portioned and always satisfying, and the lattes are expertly made and the perfect way to start the day. Whether you're meeting friends, treating family, or simply enjoying a leisurely weekend brunch, Breakfast Republic delivers a fun and memorable dining experience every time. Highly recommended!

Yet another California bruuunchhh Really fun atmosphere, very popular brunch spot. Reservations HIGHLY recommended. They seated our large group of 12 with no issues and the service was amazing. Frequent water refills and food came out pretty quickly despite the large group. No food issues/incorrect orders and the servers were so friendly! Chicken fennel sausage omelette - I was a little underwhelmed, won't lie. A little bland for my taste despite the peppers and seasoned sausage. I liked it a lot better with their custom spicy Ketchup sauce. The upgraded brussel sprouts & potatoes side were reallyyyyy good. Perfectly crisp and seasoned and actually quite good when reheated (I brought home leftovers). Dirty chai latte - I'm usually not a coffee person but it was REALLY GOOD. Not too sweet at all with a great balance of flavor. Iced with oat milk and it had me buzzing the whole rest of the day lol. Overall a fun spot, nothing super stood out to me but it's awesome for groups and they had really funny merchandise for sale as well.

Do the plain side of grits have cheese?

    Yes!

    Do they take Apple Pay?

As far as I'm aware, yes.

Can I make a seating reservation by calling?

The automated phone menu states that the restaurant is first come first serve and they do not take reservations.

What is the actual price of the traditional Benedict? The place is opened up and one menu photo showed $14 and the other showed $13... Please tell me this place didn't raise their prices this quick?!

All 3 donuts were good and not too sweet. The Banana Pudding Donut was yummy. You can taste the banana that blends in well with the creamy pudding. The Roasted Sweet Corn was unique in taste. It was my favorite. Fresh Strawberry Milk Cream was also delicious. There's a hint of tanginess that balances the sweet taste of the donut. Hazelnut Latte and Caramel Latte went perfectly well with donuts and Chocolate Chip Cookie. Their Chocolate Chip Cookie is plentiful and contained lots of chocolate chips. It was a hot day, and so we asked for ice water with our order. You would have thought we were ASKING FOR GOLD, the way the employees got so huffy and rude!!! After confirming we were Paying Customers, they proceeded to talk under their breath about how they were going to switch to bottled water so "people couldn't get free water" anymore, suuuuuper cool to hear! Walked in on a Sunday around 11:30am, restaurant maybe a quarter full. Seated in a corner with incomplete silverware, no menus for several minutes, no water for even longer. Waited another 10-15 minutes with menus in hand before anyone came to take our order. The food wait aside, what really stood out was the lack of basic check-ins. No "sorry for the wait," no acknowledgment, and when I finally asked for the bill, the manager came over with the terminal, took payment, and walked off without much of a follow-up except to hand over boxes. Just a little warmth goes a long way! Food, when it arrived: * Landwer's Pancakes: the highlight. Three pancakes tall with seasonal fruit, whipped cream, Nutella, and maple syrup. Delicious and a generous portion. * Croissant Sandwich: disappointing. Tough, chewy croissant with thinner filling than the bread size warranted. Hard to get a clean bite. The Century City location is convenient, and parking on weekend mornings is easy before the crowds roll in.

I've been to Cafe Landwer a few times over the years, and it was usually decent. After today,…read morethough, I don't have any interest in returning. My friend and I made a reservation for outdoor dining for brunch. We arrive right around our reservation time to find nobody at the podium. After a few minutes, a woman comes up and asks, "For two?" before immediately turning around and walking the other way, to which point we stop her and say that we actually had a reservation which we gave her all the details for. She stopped for about half a second, grabbed menus, then turned around again and brought the menus to an indoor table, then just walked away without making eye contact. She did not even tell us to follow her nor say a single word to us once we were seated. No worries, right? Wrong. We perused the menus and waited for about ten minutes, with no staff members coming by to help us. We started looking around to try to flag someone down, but each staff member was either not looking in our direction and/or wearing a different outfit from the next staff member, with some outfits almost having a nightclub aesthetic than wait staff. Eventually, another individual comes by our table and, again, without greeting us or making any eye contact, aloofly says, "Just order off the QR code," which we didn't see because the menus were covering it. Now, my friend who I was with works in the mall, and I know the restaurant offers a discount for mall employees, so as the employee was walking away, I called out and asked if we would still get the discount if ordering off the QR code, and he said yes. Note that in all the times my friend and I have eaten here in the past, it was always traditional table service. Then, we go to place our order, and after adding everything to the basket, it tries to charge my credit card. At this point, almost 20 minutes had gone by since we arrived, with still no single greeting or water or silverware set or anything. I get up to speak to another waiter who was helping nearby tables, to which I am again told to just order off the QR code but was reassured that the mall discount would be applied once the tab was settled. So we oblige and place our order through the portal. Several minutes later, the same waiter who I had most recently spoken with had come to our table (mind you, this is the first time someone came to our table in the entire time we were seated) and said that the restaurant was out of some of the items on our menu. And it was at this point that we FINALLY got waters. At this point, we had to look through the menu again, but it was getting to the point where we were going to miss our movie, so we had to just abandon ship and eat at the mall food court. Upon leaving, the only acknowledgement we got was from the first woman who "brought" us to our table, which was a petty smile and wave. Allow me to make myself clear. I hold no animosity against any establishment for being short-staffed, for requiring QR code ordering, or for being out of ingredients. This stuff just happens. What I do have an issue with is the astounding lack of any grace or hospitality, without even a simple "Whenever you're ready go ahead and use the QR codes on the table" or even a welcome. It just felt as though every person was just trying to get by with doing the bare minimum, and every employee had attitude. Even the couple next to us, who had been seated before we arrived, never got acknowledged. It's honestly a shame, because many of the items here are great, and the offerings are unique, but if this is how Cafe Landwer chooses to operate and treat its customers, I won't be back.
