This is such a cute and lovely bakery. I come here with friends, family and my fiancee we honestly can't get enough of this place. They offer a wide selection of sweets and baked goods. Along side a wide variety of hot/cold beverages. The staff is very kind and very knowledgeable - I'm so flabbergasted with the variety this bakery has I'm always asking for their recommendation on baked goods, drinks and cake selection. This is our go to place for everything. They have two levels , the first level is where you can look at their selection of food and place your order alongside a small area of tables and chairs. Breeze is a unique place both it its atmosphere and selections. I appreciate how clean and tidy it is more than anything else. It's clear that the management pays great attention to detail and expects the same from all employees. The only minute thing is the ice cream cups. Why use awkwardly shaped cups? Not only they are made with hard plastic that is not environmentally friendly, they are so slippery and uncomfortable to hold. Half the time, there are no tops to go on these cups earthier and guests have to somehow figure out how to transport the ice cream in the car without getting it all over the place. Makes zero sense to use this particular kind when there is like a million other ice cream cups/containers that are cheaper, better for the environment, easy to use, and perfect for take out. I know this may seem like I'm insanely picky, but we have been coming to Breeze for years and ordered their gelato/sorbet countless times. Breeze is located right next to Yechon (a Korean restaurant) making it an easy access for dessert. Although, will have to point out that the parking is atrocious when it comes to the evening. I've had the fruit bingsoo (shaved ice) and it was okay. There's not much flavor aside form the syrup/condensed milk and frozen yogurt on top. The gelato is alright. This is a decent Korean cafe in Annandale. You have to figure out what you like here and what you don't. It's not one of those places that are good across the board. Personally, i think they have a pretty darn good bingsu for a place in the US. I especially like the matcha and mango versions. The bubble tea is decent too, but now that Kung Fu Bubble Tea is close by I would choose them if I'm specifically looking for bubble tea in the area. The coffee drinks aren't bad and if I remember correctly they have a goguma (sweet potato) latte here, which is hard to find outside of Korea. The cakes and "attractive" baked good are pretty true to Korean baked goods in general - aka dry and horrible. The breads are on the dry, tasteless side as well. Korean breads are really delicious when done right, but it's amazing how many places even in Korea have subpar versions. This is a nice place to hang out if you need to get some work done (and don't need quiet) or enjoy time with a group of friends. read more

Down the street I got out of my car to buy some treats at Swiss Bakery but Swiss was closed at 3pm. Why would they close so early on a weekend? Craving ?!?! So I yelped Bakery and found Breeze next to 495. At Breeze I found wrapped mango pastry and Mocha pastry for $2.50 each. They were both delicious and semi-sweet. I have been looking for a place that my dentist could appreciate. Breeze was the least sweet place I have ever tasted. Their cake has just the right amount of sugar. The Mocha cake actually tasted like dark Mocha not over sugared like the cakes at Wegmans. The mango tasted like a pure mango smoothie in a cake. I suggest go there early because I returned a few hours later and many of their fresh treats were SOLD-OUT. If you like European style semi-sweet desserts give this place a try. read more

The counter clerk nicely wrapped and packaged her cake as I have watched them do for other customers. My cake was thrown in a bag. I wanted to cry from exhaustion for bad service. Beautiful store and good location! They accept credit card. Good place i used to hang out. But not anymore, i came early today and asked for 1 of the bread that i used to buy. They dont have it anymore. Thats fine but the way the guy - i guess he is one of the manager there who gave me a bad attitude. I ordered Turkey Club and green tea snow ice, and guess what he said? "We dont serve snow ice until 10:30" they dont even have snow ice togo even i asked for it. I know snow ice melt fast but if after you told the customer and they still want it, please do whatever to make them happy. Food is good if you're rich, such small servings for an absurd price, the Korean shaved ice is horrible and the fruit on it tasted old and expired (literally couldn't even eat it). The shaved ice taste like water but the frozen yogurt (plain) was good though. I let all this stuff pass though because I enjoyed the space outside to spend time with my mom. I'm leaving this review because some of the employees are rude. For example, my mom asked a simple question, "is this our food?" and told him the number, because there was no number on the food placed on the counter, the employee looked at her and then looked at the food, he then proceeded to say nothing and rudely turned his back to her and continued whatever he was doing (which he was not in the middle of anything, so she thought it was the right time to ask) It is not hard to treat people respect and takes 3 seconds to say "I'll get right back to you after etc." I understand if we were being rude in anyway for it to be reciprocated, but we have only been nice and treated your establishment with respect. read more

Breeze Bakery is a cozy cafe in Annandale that I keep coming back to. On my most recent visit, I ordered a strawberry bingsoo and a roll cake. The bingsoo comes in two sizes and I got the small sized portion which was enough to feed two people. It comes with a shaved ice base with mochi bits and strawberry ice-cream in the center. There are strawberry slices on top of the ice and a large whipped cream topping. It was superb and I got here around midnight. Dolce, Shilla & Le Matin were my go-to spots for dessert after stuffing my face at the myriad of Korean food places in Annandale. I hadn't heard of Breeze Bakery Cafe until recently and initially, I didn't think it was a Korean bakery based on the name. Le Matin, Dolce - those names make sense b/c Koreans like fancy - but Breeze? Koreans can't say Breeze. Contrary to what Team America World Police would have you believe, Koreans aren't ronery. But we do have problems with peelings and pucking. Z is another sound that Koreans can't do - in fact, Koreans call the letter Z, jet. So zoo = Jew, zone = jone, and breeze = bleej (pronounced buh-lee-juh). This reminds me of a fun story from when I was a kid. One day, my dad said that we would be going to buh-lee-jee point for a family outing the following day. Buh-lee-jee is how Koreans say the word bridge. So I thought, "Bridge point. That sounds cool." Imagine my surprise when we got to Bridge Point and there was no bridge. I looked at the sign and it was Breezy Point. Yup, Koreans say breezy and bridge the exact same way. Food - Pretty typical Korean bakery offerings: bingsoo, perishable baked goods kept at room temperature, coffee that ranges in taste from horrible to Taster's Choice. What sets this place apart is 1) their gelato, which is actually pretty good and 2) their samples. Now, Shilla and all the other bakeries have some samples, but nothing like this place. You could seriously fill yourself up on the myriad of samples and buy a cake/bread out of courtesy and it'll set you back $1.75. The bingsoo will run you about $8, $10 for ones topped with gelato. If you're a fan of pot bingsoo (red bean bingsoo), you either have to order the one that's explicitly called pot bingsoo or pay $0.99 for them to add it. the fruit bingsoo actually has fresh fruit rather than a can of Dole mixed fruit plopped on top. Location - Open till midnight but right next door to Yechon so the parking lot can be packed. Two levels with a patio upstairs. Service - They really do a good job of refilling their samples. While we were there, they refilled the samples when each of the trays were anywhere from 10-25% full. This is very unKorean of them. My new favorite spot in Koreandale to get dessert. If the parking lot wasn't such a cluster at random hours of the day (can't blame people for getting Yechon cravings at random hours), this place would be perfect. read more

Of course you can get bubble teas as well. I love matcha so I ordered matcha bingsoo. The large size is generous so if you don't plan to share you may want to order the smaller size. I was with a group and we bought a variety of baked goods to take home, as well as cakes and bingsoo to eat while we were there. I asked if it was possible to switch ingredients on the bingsoo toppings and was told yes. So I asked the cashier if I could switch the red bean out for strawberries and the asshole literally laughed in my face and told me he doesn't recommend it because it would taste really bad!! Thanks for telling me what I like..... If you have ever been to Shilla, their baked goods are much better tasting. The guys behind the counter were so nice and seemed to genuinely appreciate your business. Holy crap, after stuffing my face at Yechon this hidden gem caught my eye. Breeze Bakery is sandwiched between the day laborer filled 7-11 and Yechon and happily it was open for business as I got ready to leave. I wanted coffee and possibly something sweet...so my fat ass waddled to the front door of "the Breeze" and happily entered into chubby kid heaven. Cakes, cookies and an assortment of morning breads filled with sausage, veggies and cheese greeted me as I walked into the main area. The place was SPOTLESS. To describe this place as "clean" would be an understatement. The place seemed like it had just opened as it had a new look and feel and a cleanliness unseen in other Annandale establishments. Heck, not even your local big chain Starbux or Panera could match the cleanliness and "new store feel" of the Breeze. Did I mention it was clean? Yep...okay then, moving on! I was full from my big Yechon breakfast but the thought of a latte to satiate my caffeine needs seemed like a great idea. I place my order for a skim latte and also ordered a small chocolate mousse cake for later. Trust me...later, I would eat it l-a-t-e-r...not now! (battle between my will power, stomach and my brain) As my latte was being prepared, I marveled at the genius decorator who decided to use three large screen flat panel TVs to display the menu. BRILLIANTLY AWESOME IDEA!! I asked one of the employees what software they used to display the menu on the various screens, to which he responded, "Its probably Power Point." Brilliant! The latte's milk was still being steamed and I asked permission to walk upstairs. The upstairs area was as just as clean with the floors beautifully covered with the same natural looking tile as the main level. The far wall behind the steps was covered in what appeared to be small pieces of flagstone piled into a beautiful design. The second level also had an cool little outdoor terrace that although it overlooked Hummer Rd and 7-11, was a nice little place for its patrons to enjoy their sweet treats. I love it! Walking back downstairs I paid for my latte, took a sip of my caffeine concoction of choice and complimented the staff. "This is a beautiful cafe, I love the design and love how clean you maintain it. Great job!" The staff thanked me happily and bid me good-bye as I walked out the door...stealing one last glace before stepping outside to marvel at his place. From the outside, you would never think such a place exists on the inside. Honestly, if you blink twice you may completely miss it as you drive by to enter Yechon or as you pick up my cousin Pedro and his buddies to mow your lawn or do some handy work around your casa. So next time you're visiting Pedro or stuffing your face at Yechon, stop into the Breeze. I think you'll be happily surprised. Oh yeah, that chocolate mousse cake...was friggin the bomb!!
