My wife went to the coffee shop to be able to unwind and catch up with her dad. the owner told her that they did not want anyone to sit because they close at 8. it was 6 o clock with two hours left. Isnt the goal of a business in the food industry to draw business and not push it away? I would expect some employee to say this to a customer but not the owner. The manager was more concerned with leaving than providing a service. You should probably look for another career. read more

Horrible experience I ordered cappuccino all I got is espresso shots with little bitt off weak foam and no milk. I asked just for a little bit of milk to make my drink less strong the lady refused to give me any milk. Something about it being a six once drink when clearly it was less than six once. Been twice to Cafe Moka at Waverly and not impressed with their service and will not be back. Latte was ok but not hot enough. I had a Blueberry scone but it tasted funny and as I separated it I found it had ONE Blueberry. I took to the server and she responded "we don't make them here", I said "you sold it to me". She offered no replacement or money back. As I said I will not be back and maybe the owners should consider training their staff better. read more

Really sad that this is the coffee shop in Waverly. Have been on several occasions, and have been told multiple times that they "don't have coffee." I'm told that they can do a "pour over" or a "Americano." I'm not a coffee snob at all...so I frankly don't know what those two things are. When I asked what they were, the woman looked at me like I was an idiot. Based on the description, tried a pour over - it's basically a $5 regular coffee. Word to the wise - don't come here if you just want a coffee (apparently they might serve it before 9am? so if you want to try that...go for it. But they also "might not."). Also came with my sister last time who asked for skim milk - she was told they don't have skim milk, just almond and oat. I get it...you're fancy and don't have coffee or regular milk. I guess that might be for some people. If you're into fancy coffee shops with snobby baristas - this place is for you! read more

Cafe Moka is a gem nestled in the Waverly shopping center. Their coffee and espresso are both amazing and the atmosphere is super cute. The lattes are creamy and rich and the pour over smooth an delicious. I highly recommend giving them a try if you are running errands or want a place to meet and chat with a friend. Four stars instead of five due to the price being quite steep for a local coffee shop (prices are similar to Starbucks, but quality is wayyyy better at Cafe Moka). read more

My friend and I visited Moka Cafe on a warm Saturday afternoon. We ordered the Boysenberry and pineapple paradise smoothies. They were very refreshing and gave us a taste of summer! The pineapple taste was nostalgic and didn't feel heavy in my stomach. It felt like I was on an island in the Bahamas! The workers were kind and felt comforting to talk to :) I highly recommend. I am addicted to Café Moka. I LOVE their coffee. Their lattes are to die for, the customer service is great, they keep their menu exciting with seasonal rotations. Their pour overs are exceptional, they also do frozen lattes, smoothies, teas, and DELICIOUS pastries. Very thoughtful menu including indulgent lattes such as the s'mores latte, cinnamon peak latte, and cafe Caribbean latte, seasonal drinks such as the white chocolate amaretto and the blackberry coffee lemonade. Pastries include the chai tea latte donut, the chocolate chip coconut cookie with sea salt, and various delicious muffins and scones. The ambiance is inviting, comfortable, creative, and unique. Not only is the customer service helpful, patient, and friendly, the company also involves themselves in the community with events like pop-up record shops. I can not ever get enough of this place. Ever. 10/10. Café moka is the best coffee place you will ever find. Every other one will just disappoint you after you go to café Moka. read more

This is THE BEST local coffee shop I have ever been too! I literally drive to Charlotte just for a Peanut Butter Moka Frozen Latte. Wow! This was my first time coming in and will now be coming here as my first choice in coffee. This place is absolutely amazing! Not only does it look beautifully inside and out but the coffee is to die for! So creamy and smooth I could drink 2 in one sitting. And I did! I'm not one for cold drinks but on this hot summer day I decided to try it out. Seriously ditch the Starbucks, cafe Moka is the REAL deal. They have so much on the menu it was a bit overwhelming but, if you get the chance the sit and look at the menu, you won't be disappointed. There is something for everyone ie. smoothies,cold drinks, hot, sweet, salty, fruity, black, just to name a few. Not only that but the diverse staff is so kind (great smiles) and the whole place gives off such a chill positive vibe. Their drink prices vary but are on average of $2-5 (which is really good deal) and let me tell you, it's worth every penny. Café moka is also fantastic for their varied milk options; they have oat, almond and soy milk for those who don't do dairy (of course regular milk too). I highly recommend! read more
