The pizza isn't bad but definitely had better!! They cut it in squares! Who does that?!?! We aren't in Chicago and this isn't Chicago style pizza! If you ask for it to be cut it pie style they just ignore you! You order it with Door Dash and it even asks if you want it pie style and you still get it in squares. The next time I order it pie style and it doesn't come that way I'm going to make them make another one, but actually I'm just done with them! The pizza isn't good enough for me to keep ordering from there! There is a lot better places with a lot better pizza to deal with this nonsense!! read more

Got the food to go through Uber eats both my personal pizzas were very good. Got here in a reasonable time and I would highly recommend. Only small tweak I would make is that when ordering the garlic sauce it looks like it comes in a very small container so there's a tendency to over order but other than that very good! read more

Went there yesterday...home game day. The food was ok. We got wings. Limited seating and no beer. The guy mopping the floor asked us if we were finished eating yet and when we said we were asked us to move so he could mop where we were sitting. There was a coke spilled earlier by someone but not where we were sitting. I come to Brenz weekly and love the food. upon coming in Tonight I tried to order a salad when I was told they "were not doing salads at the moment". I understood but saw a guy who has walked in 5 minutes prior eating his salad. I worked in pizza for 5 years and i understand ovens being closed and running out of ingredients but never has the "salad machine" ever been down. One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. Came here on the recommendation of our son who is at UTK. No wonder it's a favorite. Close to the dorms. Delicious specialty pizzas. Sticks with you as you walk all those hills. Small dining are that holds more people that it looks like it would. A few tables and the rest are window seats with tall stools. Walk inside and step up the to counter to place your order. Then find a seat or table. Didn't take too awfully long for the pizzas to be ready. Served hot and loaded with your choice of toppings. This is my son's favorite pizza place. He always orders the ATM Pizza (i.e., Meat Lovers) and the BBQ Chicken (you can do half of each). I liked the ATM the best as the BBQ Chicken was too sweet for me, and it had pineapple on the pizza. My wife loved the BBQ Chicken pizza and raved about it. This is just off campus and you will see many students in there. The setup is your order and pay then grab a place to sit. The service was good, it took around 25 minutes for our food. read more

I appreciate this level of customer service! **ORIGINAL** I ordered delivery to our hotel room. While the pizza's flavor was good, I was disappointed because the kitchen did not make the order correct. I ordered a custom 4 topping pizza and only received 3 of those 4 toppings. If it was a veggie, I would've been less bothered but I paid for pepperoni and didn't get it. I get it... orders get wrong, but it was written on my receipt so I know the kitchen must've had these ingredients on their ticket while preparing the pizzas. The kitchen or someone at the restaurant should be reviewing the orders before they go out to make sure they're correct. I called back to politely inform the restaurant of what had happened. Convinced my rotation mates to order from here instead of papa johns. It was a hard battle because of the price difference but I won! After an hour and 15-30 mins, our order finally arrived. We were starving..the pizza wasn't hot. one of my amigas had to microwave her slice. I ordered 16 inch pies of the classic, spinach artichoke and black and blue. Everyone loved the black and blue, as expected based on the description. The second best was spinach artichoke then of course, classic is for the safe eaters. Surprisingly, no one touched the classic. The toppings for the black and blue were spot on but I wasn't a fan of the dough. I think I only like brick oven pizza or nyc style pizza. The dough was too thick - similar to bread sticks. The bacon on this pie really gave it the kick in texture and taste. Can't go wrong with bacon on a dish! The spinach artichoke wasn't what I hoped for. I wanted it to taste like I was eating spinach artichoke dip. It was rather dry. Overall, incomparable to Hard Knox Pizzeria. NC Pizza, of course I need to rep this place. I recently came here for a yelp event and it was awesome so I wanted to come back and definitely give this place a proper review. Pizzas here are tasty, but the one thing I have problems with is the parking situation. Like, where are you going to park if you don't go to UT? Obviously, this restaurant is sitting on the strip and is going to be trying to attract that foot traffic. The big problem that I forsee about Brenz is their pricing and especially for college students. When we sat there I swore I saw a lot of people go next door to Chipotle. It's understandable, I guess but this place has good pizza. However, I would say that the prices are a little high for students, and especially for pizza. I know students go down to Old City and eat at Barley's and then at the same time get a beer on tap. Sorry, but that's reality. I don't think students give a crap about quality or at least good pizza with fresh ingredients. I really like what Brenz has and definitely can compete with other pizzerias. But depending on where and how far people are willing to go, Hard Knox is down the street as well and they can compete with Brenz and has plentiful parking. It's a hard business and if Brenz had a better location or lowered prices to compete this place would definitely take off. I hope Brenz does survive though and that they find success in this area as the space for nice quality pizzerias are never to be turned away. read more

I always get the lots of pepperoni and cheese pizza. You're able to get personal pizzas with all different type of toppings. The crust is nice and crusty but soft. I absolutely love their ranch sauce. I think it's the best that I've ever had. Also, their cheesy breadsticks are to die for. Not really a fan of their wings. They can use more seasoning and can be fried longer. But all in all, great pizza! Place is always clean and they have these cute booths where they have the structures to place your pizza. I really think the basis of pizza's success lies in its dough and crust. Brenz Pizza has clearly done its homework and has produced the BEST crust I've eaten in recent memory. It's soft on the inside with a sturdy, satisfying crunch in the outside plus the ingredients for toppings are second to none. We loved the option to have personal pizzas and to have more than one flavor on the same pie. Don't forget to order a side of their ranch as well! Wings are also very good. Came here with a Yelp event and liked it so much I brought a friend back here for her birthday to try. We decided to try the Spinach Artichoke pizza, a large garden salad, and 10 wings (which we got 5 mild and 5 bbq). Kevin and his staff were friendly and attentive making sure we had everything we needed and that everything was good. The Spinach Artichoke pizza was delicious! It has seasoned olive oil, cheese, chicken, artichokes, their special sauce, roasted red peppers and spinach and they shave parmesean over it at the end. The flavors all worked well together and their pizza crust is what makes the pizza so good. It's crispy and has a slight chew, but the flavor of the dough is what makes it so good. The house salad was huge and served both of us and we had enough for each of us to take home a small bowl. The wings were big and meaty and really good. My favorite is the bbq which they get from NC (can't remember from where exactly), but it's REALLY good! I will definitely be back and will be bringing more people to try. read more

For me a restaurant 'Coming Soon' sign is almost as good as knowing Santa was coming as a kid. And just like most relationships in my life, the build up is almost as good as the actual experience. And much like a new relationship, you cyber stalk the menu so you know what to expect before you ever walk through the door. You know that the new staff will be on their best behavior as managers keep a close on everything that goes on while on their watch. These are those sweet, sweet moments when everything is supposed to be perfect. And if they aren't perfect, you are so blinded by the good that you can overlook the red flags that you'll look back on wondering how you could have missed. This is the bliss that I expected when I walked into Brenz Pizza for the first time. The restaurant looks great. I dig the modern renovation. After walking by this place for years when it was abandoned, it's hard to believe it's the same space. But I was surprised at how empty it was inside. But then again, campus is dead during the holidays. We walked up to the counter and were greeted by a sweet cashier. She was friendly and helpful. She let us pick her brain about some of her favorites. As we waffled between a couple of options, she let us know that we could select any 2 specialty pizzas and order our single pizza 1/2 & 1/2. She did fail to mention that there was an additional cost for this, which we realized later after we'd sat down and double checked the receipt. While we waited for our pizza, we observed. There were more employees than customers, but the only person who ever spoke to us was the cashier who took our order. No one. Not the owner who sat directly behind us or the manager who milled about the restaurant. Nothing. Not even a 'goodbye' or a 'thank you' as we walked past them on our way out the door. And finally, it was pizza time. We ordered 1/2 BBQ Chicken (Ranch, cheese, plus Cheddar, chicken, bacon, onions, BBQ sauce, and pineapple) and 1/2 Spicy Hawaiian (Red sauce, cheese, ham, capicola, bacon, pineapple, and jalapeños). As we started to dish out the pizza, we realized that we were never given plates. We had to hunt someone down, which shouldn't have been a chore in a restaurant with only a few customers. Once we had our plates, we looked forward to diving into some ooey-gooey goodness. Our first impression of the pizza was pretty lackluster and our first tastes confirmed our suspicions of a 'meh' experience. We were disappointed that our 'Spicy Hawaiian' was missing the the one thing that makes it spicy (no jalapeños) and didn't even realize the ranch was missing from the 'BBQ Chicken' until typing out the description in this review. The pizza itself was fine. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. Again, just meh. Overall, we had a few annoyances with our meal but there was nothing to say 'I'll never go back'. On the flip side of that, there was nothing positive that stuck with me to make me say 'I can't wait to go back'. Knoxville has some great pizza options. I just don't think Brenz has what it takes to keep up. read more
