My group of 7 tried to have dinner at another restaurant but the space couldn't accommodate us, so we walked over to DaVinci's Pizza and were pleasantly surprised when the place was empty. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us right away. DaVinci's is a fast casual restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. We had 4 children with us and they were able to pick something they liked - from individual slices to personal pizza. My son of course ordered a small pepperoni pizza and I got a spinach calzone. Although only one man was working, he was quick and efficient. We didn't wait long for our food and everything was cooked to order. The calzone was big, tasty and filling. I didn't get to try any of the pizzas, but everyone seemed to enjoy them. My son ate his entire pizza. The portions were great and the prices cheap. Because of location, they have homeless people pop in and out but the gentleman handled them pretty well. read more

I ordered a cheese pizza and got a slice of bread with tomato sauce over the top. I then asked for additional cheese and he put on about a fourth of a handful of cheese on top of my pizza.. attached is a picture of the pizza, but you can see the additional cheese was added on top. The white spots you see on top of the pizza is the extra quarter of a handful added. The initial pizza had zero white on it. The worst pizza I have had, and that includes Pizza Hut. read more

DaVinci's serves excellent, "New Jersey style," pizza. While I have never had pizza, in New Jersey, I can say that DaVinci's pizza would be excellent, in all 50 states. I am not sure what part of their process sets their pizza apart from many of the excellent pizzerias that Knoxville is fortunate to have. I can tell you a few of the features. First off, DaVinci's crust is superior. They make a thin, chewy, stretchy crust that is crisp, but bends or folds without breaking. If I were to speculate, I imagine they either make sourdough pizza, or give the dough an extended rest; perhaps as 12hrs, or as long as 96hrs...or just making sourdough and givie it an extended rest. The sauce is also very good. It has a nice blend of spices and is very flavorful. It compliments the crust well. Last, their cheese is just right for the pizza. Normally I would always advocate for more cheese, on any pizza, but their pizza isn't very cheesy, and it is better for this. The cheese they use must be shredded fresh, on site. It also tastes like they incorporate an aged cheese, like Parmesan or Pecorino, on the pizza. I would recommend trying DaVinci's. If you just want to test it out, without committing to the whole pie, they do sell some slice pizza. read more

Sam is an incredible owner. Located in the Old City of Knoxville, one can enjoy a thin but perfect pizza. It does not have a lot of seating. Oftentimes, there will be music playing and something on the TV. Worth stopping by in the evening but even better before heading home for the night. I have to say I might have been a bit skeptical coming here since all the yelp reviews are fantastic. I walked into this place for lunch and was greeted by one of the workers. We ordered a Large Pizza with Pepperoni and Mushrooms. It was delicious. We also ordered 2 greek salads. They were simple but really great. I posted 2 pictures of our meal. I would give this place 4 and 1/2 stars. It was really good. We enjoyed a large pizza, 2 greek salads, and 2 canned cokes for $22. That is NYC prices on pizza which was very refreshing. I am a fan of Dazzo's as well but with prices like DaVinci's has, it is hard to beat. They are opening another location on Sutherland Avenue right across from West High School sometime next week. I will definitely return. The pizza was really tasty and made for great leftovers, the salads were simple but fabulous, and I loved that they had canned cokes. I prefer cokes in cans or in glass bottles, not plastic bottles. You should definitely check this place out because you get the bang for your buck and its good. My wife and I stopped by on a Saturday night to try this place. The service was friendly and the pizza came out promptly. We shared a small mushroom and sausage along with two bottled beers. The crust was very good, more on the thinner and well-done side, like I prefer. However, I thought the sauce and cheese were a little "off." Dropped in this place while in old Town for lunch. My first impression was that the place was old and a little smokey, maybe from crust left in the oven, just my kind of place! We ordered a cheese pizza, BBQ chicken and a Hawaiian Calzone. My wife and kids had the pizzas and all said that the pizza was amazing and my wife mentioned that the crust was thin and light. Went in to grab a quick pizza and spoke with the order taker/Pizza maker and she was really nice. She gave me a great deal, large pepperoni for $9.43 taxes and all. She made it and put it in the oven, told me it would be ready in 7 minutes. Ahhhh....hot, fresh pizza! The pizza had a thin, chewy crust. It was very limp. The sauce was really good. Tried DaVinci's today for the first time. Like many Yelp users, I agree that it's one of the better pizza places in Knoxville. I really wanted to be able to give it five stars, but in my book, nobody has been able to dethrone Mangia (in Turkey Creek) for bragging rights of best thin-crust pizza. I will say that the place is a very authentic-looking Jersey-style pizza shop. It smells like pizza the minute you walk through the door. The maps and posters from New Jersey are a nice touch and they big chalkboard advertises "hoagies." Good stuff. I've got to go back to try a stromboli. If you're a Philly guy like me, you involuntarily start looking around for a cooler full of Yuengling to go with your pizza. No dice. Water and soda only. The Sunday and Monday night special is a large cheese pizza for $6. Two of us ate a large Hawaiian (8 good-sized slices) with two bottled drinks for $12 out the door and two slices leftover for lunch tomorrow. That's some cheap eats. Dinner was on the table in less than 10 minutes and it was hot and delicious. Given that they deliver to UT's campus and the surrounding areas, I have a feeling I'll definitely be patronizing DaVinci's again in the near future. read more

The pieces are tiny and the individual slices are kept under a heating lamp in a little box - sorry folks....that ain't Jersey. The toppings are average at best, and the crust isn't particularly crisp. This is nowhere near Jersey or NYC pizza. This particularly disturbing, considering that the proprietor claims to be from Jersey. it's probably because he's from the Shore - they cater more towards tourists down there anyway. I've been in Knoxville for 19 years, and have heard about DaVinci's, but never thought to go by. One a time crunch last week, a colleague and I stopped in for a bite. The pizza's ok. It's definitely not the best in Knoxville, but it's by no means the worst. As far as the environment, DaVinci's is typically empty, and their hours are spotty. I feel like if they cleaned the place up a bit more, spent a bit more in improving what they have, it'd be a better place to go. As it stands, it's kinda divey, and you can get better pizza in Downtown Knoxville not a 5 minute walk away. read more

My favorite thing about this place are the guys who run it. Ever eaten in there? They're always chatting it up with some customer or delivery guy and I swear they always include you in the conversation! It makes me feel like buds with these NJ guys! The pizza is delicious. It's nothing fancy, nothing unexpected, but it's all good. The sauce is wonderful. I've loved everything I've gotten. No complaining whatsoever. This review is for the DaVinci downtown and for a pizza being delivered so take it for what you want. The pizza was good, but not great. It was an average pizza that was luke warm. My wife loves pizza that is not very hot, but I do not. I believe that had to do with it being delivered. I am curious to try DaVinci's in the restaurant. We had the sausage and pepperoni pizza, which was light. Overall, a decent pizza, but I wont be tripping over myself to get another anytime soon. read more

The crust was very good, but the sauce wasn't really NY authentic. Toppings are pretty good for the most part, but the prices make this place very good as opposed to a place like Mangia out in Turkey Creek. UPDATED 8/29 - So I picked up a $6 cheese pie from them last Sunday as part of a special they have every Sunday and Monday. If the quality was like the first time I tried DaVinci's, I would leave my initial review alone. However, I think I could have honestly bought a box of Elio's pizza from Kroger and make the same product with the exception of the shape. Best place for pizza in Knoxville. (And they have Edy's icecream.) The staff is awesome, the pizza is delicious, and the prices are good. On Sundays and Mondays, you can get a large cheese pizza for $6 (and additional toppings are $.75, I believe.) The staff and continued quality of the pizza are what makes this place great. And they're open super late, which is handy when you're down there for a show or out late drinking. read more
