This is my favorite coffee shop ever, period. Brew is the epitome of shopping local as they support other local businesses through their sourcing (e.g., graphic design, florals, coffee beans). The creativity in both the food, the atmosphere, and the drinks is unmatched. Interesting and delicious seasonal items, and always a wonderful visit. I haven't lived in Jax since 2021, but I always make it a priority to come in when I'm home. PSA, do not visit BREW without getting an everything kolache. You will not regret it!! read more

Went there for a breakfast snack: Love that they have kolaches and they were good but mostly bread rather than filling. Sweet snacks looked good but didn't try them this visit. Overall the food is overpriced but I would imagine the coffee is pretty good- it's a cute spot to stop in when you are in the area. Good place to meet up with a friend for coffee but not the coffee shop to go to if you're looking to have table space or study. read more

Came to five points to go to a certain store and then decided to try this coffee place since it was a few stores down. This place is really cute and the workers are very nice. Ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. It was really good. The crunch on the bread is awesome and the sandwich itself is huge. Definitely shareable. The drinks were just "okay". My coffee was a little watered down. The matcha latte was like plain milk. Definitely could use another 2 scoops of matcha powder and extra sweetener. Overall, I'd consider giving them another try, but next time I would customize my drinks to get it right. read more

Bro, the food straps harder than Brian Shaw! I got the "brisket sandwich" and a "ginger plumb" tea which was fantastic for 11:30am. The sandwich ingredients from the menu reads: "tyler's smoked chopped brisket, housemade pimento cheese, pickled red onions, cumin pickles, griddled on our bread" and you get every bit of that flavor. Perfection on bread made in-house with love. With pimento cheese oozing down the sides, thick chopped brisket, and the pickles are actually "cummin' pickles." That's because its what you do as you eat them (all jokes aside the pickles are fire!). The service is always great! Every time I've came in, the same smiling faces are there and they all work together like a well oiled machine. Start to finish, it may take 6 minuets to get my food on a very busy morning. The food is fresh, hot, and flavor packed when it arrives always & you feel the love put into it. The ambiance is always great inside with low music, people always chatting, and doing coffee shop things. Do yourself a favor and stop in to check them out! Check their hours anywhere online and if you're an introvert, just order online. They have a great online platform for ordering and it's very fast service. 10/26/2018- Couldn't be happier with this little spot for breakfast. Four of us came in and were immediately greeted. After looking at the pastry case and the menu, we ordered coffee and lattes. The pastry case had these round breads called Kolache. The girl explained that it was like a bagel. Two of my friends ordered them. One stuffed with pimento cheese and another stuffed with jalapeno and mushrooms. The Kolache is a breakfast pastry made from sweet bread and is eaten by hand. It was warm when it came out, so to share, we cut it in a few pieces. When the knife went in, it was very soft, not like a bagel. We described it like biting into a cloud. So good! I ordered the Chorizo Corn Cake, roasted sweet potato, chorizo, pickled red onion, cilantro, chile sauce, queso on griddled corn cakes with a sunny side up egg ($10). I wanted to try this and the breakfast tacos but the young lady told me that this plate was plenty. She was right! It's a pretty big plate. The flavors are on point. It is on the spicier side. My friends ordered two tacos each. (2 for $7). They were very happy with their tacos. They ordered the Hippy, OG, Black Bean, Veggie and the Chorizo & Potato. They also offer various toasts. I really liked the names such as Basic Bitch, Don't call it a comeback and Southern AF. What a fun and creative menu! I love the menu's simplicity. You pick what type of coffee you want, then the flavor, hot or iced and it's always delicious. The service varies I'm guessing based on the mood of whomever is at the register. The brisket kolaches were my favorite item here, but they no longer serve it. The quiche is also yummy. I stopped by Brew on a Sunday afternoon for coffee and a snack with my wife and was extremely pleased with the results. I ordered a latte, a cinnamon roll, and had a bite of my wife's spinach garlic kolache. The latte was milky and smooth. I wouldn't complain if it was stronger, but it was still very tasty. The cinnamon roll was delightful- soft, moist, full of cinnamon flavor, and just sweet enough. All too often, cinnamon rolls are cloyingly sweet- not so at Brew. The spinach garlic kolache was packed with flavor. Another winner; I would definitely like to try some other flavors. While finding parking around Brew was a bit of a challenge, the staff was friendly, and the shop was clean. It's definitely worth the trip! read more

Wow what a great experience! I'm sad this is a little hike from home but with how delicious these kolachis were it's probably what's best for my waistline. Due to COVID, 5 points is almost a ghost town, unfortunately. However, this made parking a breeze and we were able to walk right into the shop. They have a beautiful case full of pastries front and center ready to greet you as soon as you enter. Surprisingly good food and coffee and surprisingly terrible service. We were about to order and the woman behind the counter could not have possibly looked more bored or put out. While we were about to order, a friend of hers showed up with his dog, without saying a word to us, she suddenly left to talk to the friend and give attention to the dog. She literally left, went outside and completely ignored us. Eventually she came back in, didn't wash her hands, after being all over the dog and got behind the counter, where she started scrolling on her phone. Someone else eventually took our order. Found this little gem in Jacksonville close to the Cummer Museum. Located on a busy street with some small businesses up and down the street, Brew was just what we needed for some coffee and light breakfast. I got to try their cold brew which was a great start to my day. Light in flavor is wasn't to heavy. The everything "bagel-like" cream cheese filled dough was so delicious, we wished we ordered two instead of sharing. I liked their avocado toast with radish and a side of salad. Problem was the salad was actually too salty for my taste. They have a variety of breakfast tacos you can order so we picked the O.G., Mexican corn, and the chorizo with sweet potato. All fantastic, but the O.G. had to be my favorite. We tried their Texas toast sandwich too, which was filled with bacon and eggs. So filling definitely shareable. read more

it's a really cute coffee shop. It is slightly hard to find parking. It is parking outside. I'm not sure if you have to pay on weekdays but we went on a weekend and we're out pretty quickly. They have the spacious area inside to sit, but if you're waiting for an order, it gets very crowded in the front. Obviously, you can wait outside as well but it's difficult to know when your order is ready. They have an assortment of foods and pastries. My mom got the spinach loaf bread/croissant thing. She was not a huge fan. She said it was OK. We all got coffee which was good too. The staff there was extremely nice. The food came out semi-quickly but they were very busy. A lot of people waiting around for their orders. The area where you get the sugar in the coffee creamer was a little bit crowded and packed because of its location near the front. They probably need to re-organize that, but I'm not sure there's space for that. Regardless, this is a cute place to go. It would be better if you sat inside and just relaxed and chilled and ate there. It's definitely a cute place with lots of shops nearby and find location. read more

We had a great experience at BREW! Just passing through Jacksonville, so this was our first time there. I ordered the Chorizo Corn Cakes, and they were super flavorful! I loved the pickled onions on top that complemented the spicy & savory flavors. If I ordered it again, I would add avocado. Very filling!! I also ordered an iced lavender latte with oat milk, and it was smooth and creamy. Their lavender syrup is made in house! I always look for restaurants/coffee shops that make their own syrups/flavorings. My family also got the Roasted Veggie Tacos. Very flavorful and filling as well! The employees were kind and attentive, helping us decide what to order. (Everything looked so good;it was hard to choose!) They were also patient as we took our time looking at all they had to offer. I love the atmosphere of this coffee shop. It is like a hidden gem in the city of Jacksonville. The decor in this shop brings out the inner hipster that I never channel. I think that the coffee that I had (Cold brew with vanilla flavoring) was delicious. I normally never have cold brew because of how strong it is, and I have a sweet tooth, but this was great. I also had a cookie that I was expecting to be just a chocolate chip cookie, but it had salt that I was NOT a fan of. Take out the cookie of this experience, and everything is fantastic. I can't even remember the name of the other batch but it was also delicious. I will say that I was a bit disappointed with their method of packaging a dozen cookies (aka stuffing as many as possible in a small box). We come to this place frequently and always get iced chia lattes with oat-milk. The first few times we came were so great, which is why we kept coming back. Sadly the last few times they were not so great. It would either be they forgot to add cinnamon or filled the cup to the rim with just oat-milk and a splash of chia. Luckily today we had the sweetest woman make our lattes. When we told her about the last few times she apologized and made them for us perfectly. Two of my older children and I ventured into Brew this week. It was a beautiful weekday afternoon in Jax & Brew was a good compliment to the day. My daughter had a vanilla latte, my son had a cold brew and I had an Ethiopian pour over (I stick with the basics - if they get that right, I'll push for a little more complicated). My coffee was just right, but I would have preferred a little more room for cream - and it would have been nice to have it offered, without having to ask. That said, the cream was kept in a mini fridge, so it was nice & fresh. My daughter & son's drinks had some residual grounds, but they said they tasted great. Overall, we enjoyed Brew and I look forward to coming back to try some of their other offerings! read more
