I have been bringing my daughter here since she was about 10 months old. However, 3 weeks ago, my daughter fell at the beach. A few days later, I found a deep cut above her top front tooth and called these folks for an appointment. They were kind and scheduled us right away which was so appreciated. Once onsite, everyone was kind, the office was beautiful and the assistant took an xray of my daughter's tooth. Then we met with a filling doctor because Dr. Zaeni was out on vacation in Iceland. Well, this doctor looked at my daughter's xray and said that the tooth looked healthy, then she quickly flipped my daughter's top lip and said it had to be extracted. I thought I was going to die. My entire body started shaking and all I could hear was this doctor saying it's ok- kids lose teeth all the time. Well, maybe if you're in the dental profession. But I spend a significant amount of time with kids and rarely see 3 year olds walking around this way. I tried to explain to her that the gum flaps and that I didn't see any puss balls or anything indicating infection. So she asked me to show it to her using my dirty hands, not even her instruments. I asked about prosthetics and she said kids push them out with their tongue and it's not worth it- she strongly recommended pulling the tooth right away, as to not infect the other teeth and adult teeth. So I left in tears, worried about my kids future and a prescription for amoxicillin. So I went home and talked to my mom who is a dental assistant. She recommended calling them back and asking more questions. So I called back and talked to this doctor again. She again insisted on taking the amoxicillin right away and pulling the tooth asap. There was no other solution! Well I gave my daughter the amoxicillin, but also called 5 other pediatrics dentists in Concord, Danville, Oakland, Berkeley and SF. Let me tell you, all 5 of these pediatric dentists concurred that the tooth is healthy for now and there is absolutely no reason to pull it. Also the amoxicillin is not needed, but since I started it, I had to finish giving it. Now my daughter is fine, but has taken antibiotics for absolutely no reason and has an upset stomach. Please note that I also took her to the regular pediatrician and that doctor also confirmed that she didn't see any sign of infection in her mouth. So 6 doctors total have confirmed that this doctor did not do a thorough job and prescribed medication haphazardly. I hope Karma gets you. I completely believe that this doctor saw a vulnerable stay at home mom and thought she could make a quick buck for her boss and make herself look good. Therefore, I absolutely do not recommend this office. If you care about your child, I hope you come to this office knowing that they have been negligent in our case and may be providing you with a false diagnosis as well.

I think it's because everyone at Parkside is super friendly and patient! My child likes that they have blocks in the waiting area, show him their tools, have lots of flavors of flouride and toothpaste to choose from, and prizes at the end. For me parking is easy, they send lots of reminders, they are very transparent with charges, and I have always been able to easily schedule/reschedule via text which is super convenient! For safety I also appreciate there aren't any closed off rooms and I can go with him.

Our appointment was for our 1-year-old daughter -- a very simple visit with no X-rays or special procedures. Because I was paying out of pocket, I was supposed to be charged the full amount upfront, with insurance billing afterward for reimbursement. That did not happen. Weeks later, I received a surprise bill for over an additional hundred dollars. This was never discussed at the time of the visit and came completely out of the blue. While surprise billing is generally not allowed in California (with dentists often excluded), this felt like billing in bad faith. When I called the office to clarify, I was told I still needed to pay the balance and that because I had used a "coupon" on my first visit, I was "still getting a good deal." There was no apology, no acknowledgment of their billing mistake, and no accountability for failing to charge the correct amount initially -- just a demand for more money. I specifically chose this office instead of an in-network provider because I assumed they knew how to properly handle out-of-pocket visits. They clearly did not. Additionally, I was not given a choice regarding fluoride treatment for my daughter. She was only 1 year old, had no evidence of tooth decay, and there was no discussion about whether fluoride was necessary or optional. I believe parents should be informed and given the choice before exposing such a young child to fluoride, especially when the need is not clearly established. That conversation never happened. Overall, this experience was disappointing and frustrating. If you're considering this office -- especially if you're paying out of pocket -- be aware that you may receive unexpected bills weeks later and that important treatment decisions may be made without proper discussion or consent.

I asked in a local Facebook Mom group for pediatric dentist office recommendations based on the needs of our children, and I saw overwhelmingly positive reviews for a few. From there, I took to Yelp and I saw the 5-star reviews for Little Cloud. I called them up, and the receptionist was so delightful and happy to answer any questions. They take our insurance and had openings, so we made our appointments. Now that we've had two cleanings there, it was time to write another all star review for them! I can't praise Dr. Rachel and her office enough! First off, they are easy to make appointments with and have their own private parking lot right in front. This makes everything so easy. Her staff are sweet and sincere, and joyful! When you're greeted, the energy is positive like not only are they happy to be there, but they're happy you're there too! That type of energy and atmosphere is exactly what you want at a pediatric dentist's office! The office is SO cute and well thought out! There's a fun light-up wall with knobs for the kiddos to play with, plus some more toys and books. The furniture is adorable with little cloud stools and a very cool light up cloud ceiling! I mean, this office feels straight out of Instagram/Pinterest! It's way too cute! However, the praise doesn't just stop at the office decor. Her office is very modern, and bright, with the latest gadgets to help her do her work smoothly and quickly. She also offers appointments where her specially trained therapy dogs can be present! The dogs are in the office twice a week. Our next appointment is when they're there and we're excited! Plus, after the appointment, kiddos can head to the prize wall and get a gapcha! So fun! Plus, on our first visit, they took a cute Polaroid of us to commemorate our visit, and the kids got some cute little items! I love the cloud toothbrush cover! Plus, my baby loved her cloud squishy toy! The entire practice goes out of their way to not only make you feel welcome, but to make the visit fun and enjoyable! This second visit, any nervousness was gone! It was the best dental visit my 6-year-old has ever had, and our 1.5's visit was also a breeze!
