We just came in for drinks while in town from Chicago because we heard they made a great espresso martini. I'm not a martini guy but my wife loved it! Bartender was friendly and talkative. We need to try the food next time we are in town.
Bricco was awesome and accommodated our group of 8 for a last minute reservation on a Sunday night. The service and food were spectacular. We tried a bunch of different pastas and steaks and they were all wonderful. Will definitely be back the next time we are in Boston.
The arancini melts in my mouth. It was exquisite. The bread pudding was delicious too. I will return to try more main courses and wine in the future. Sit at the bar too. Service was excellent! Reasonably priced main meals too. I sometimes take their fresh bread, pasta and tomato sauce home.
Honestly who doesn't love homemade pasta? Both of our pastas were fresh and tasted amazing. The burrata as a starter was perfect. I had a glass of barolo with dinner and finished off with the espresso martini, both great. Our server was very attentive and the ambiance was perfect for a date night. Would definitely come back when I return to Boston!
We were able to enjoy Bricco as part of a food tour. It was a fantastic experience. The staff was so friendly and welcoming to our group. We visited the counter service section. It was clean neat and organized. It was a smaller area, so the 15+ of us, had to take turns standing, looking at the counter offerings. I can't wait to return to purchase the fresh baked bread...Looked and smelled sooo good!!!
The building has 2 floors with bathrooms on both floors. The restaurant was dimly lit at night. They did give some complementary bread. I ordered the Farfalle Tartufate (lobster pasta with truffle) and Bricco's brodetto (variety of seafood) as they were recommended online. However they fell below my expectations. The lobster was overcooked so it was on the rubbery size. The pasta was undercooked and hard. The pasta portion size was tiny like an appetizer for the cost of $34 for 5-6 pieces of pasta. The swordfish in the brodetto was pretty hard and I found some sand in my clams. The salmon was also very expensive for the small portion size. For appetizers I did like how they wrapped the lemon in a net so the seeds wouldn't fall out. The mashed potatoes were also nice and creamy. The zucchini flowers were good but pretty expensive for just 2.
My first Dine Out Boston 2026 Winter visit: Bricco, awarded "Best Espresso Martini" in Best of Boston 2025. The award went to the cocktails; when it comes to dishes, while the portions were generous, the quality was relatively ordinary. Table Bread: The bread was a bit hard and prickly in mouth. Three sauces were served: cannellini purée was purely bean-flavor, light and understated; pesto had a rich nutty aroma and a subtle garlic aftertaste; roasted garlics were soft and delicate with a gentle garlic flavor. My personal favorite was the pesto--the most fragrant and layered. Meatballs: The meatballs were large, firm, and somewhat chewy, but not quite up to the claim of "Boston's best from certified Angus beef" on the menu. The tomato sauce was average. The ricotta's moist texture, light milky aroma, and the Parmigiano's firm texture and rich fermented aroma were the biggest pluses of the dish. The Crostini was excessively crumbly, jarring whether paired with the meatballs or used to clean the plate. Honestly, I was already feeling full by this point... Risotto: Best of the meal, 4.5 stars on its own. The tomato sauce was different from the meatballs; it was authentically Italian, with a crisp, refreshing acidity. Biting into the cherry tomatoes released a burst of flavor-- be careful, for those who can't handle sourness. The rice was perfectly cooked, firm yet tender, each grain separate. The seafood, including scallops, squid, shrimp, and salmon, was all very fresh, firm, and bouncy. It was the first time I'd seen salmon in risotto; thankfully, the fishy taste was well removed, otherwise, the combination with the tomatoes would have been a disaster. Blueberry Cheesecake: The blueberries were practically nonexistent. Think of it as a New York-style cheesecake topped with white chocolate. It was extremely thick and creamy, like ice cream, but also incredibly sweet, making my mouth and throat feeling smothered. I had to alternate between a bite of cake and a sip of ice water to barely finish it. P.S. The lighting was so dim I couldn't see the food at all. Holding a DSLR camera in one hand while using a light in the other was exhausting.
Wonderful Italian food with cute staff and a vibrant North End atmosphere. The portions are a little bit on the smaller side for my liking, but the food is tasty and comes out quickly. It is not a messy but a rather fun endeavor. As someone who thoroughly enjoys Italian cuisine this is one I highly recommend, but also suggest getting here early because people fill up the joint quite quickly. Sorry that this review is shorter than most I write, but I think the food here speaks for itself in its quality.
Such a great experience. This was our second time coming in just for a drink, and once again it did not disappoint. The bar is large and comfortable, which makes it easy to pop in and grab a drink even on a busy night. The cocktails are definitely on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it. I ordered the Hot and Dirty Martini, and it was incredible. They chilled both the glass and the olives beforehand. It was such a unique twist on a classic dirty martini. It was icy cold, perfectly smooth, and had just the right amount of strength. My cousin and fiancé both got the signature espresso martinis, and the chocolate-dusted rim was to die for. I'm not even an espresso martini person, and I still thought it was amazing. We loved the complimentary bread served with three spreads. The roasted garlic clove was my favorite. We also ordered a charcuterie board, which was excellent and tasted super fresh. Overall, a fantastic spot for cocktails and light bites. I'd love to come back and try a full entrée next time!
We were here for a celebration and couldn't ha e been more pleased! The food was top notch and our server,Wolmar, was EXCEPTIONAL and made our dinner experience even more memorable; he was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Bricco!
Great meal! This is the second time we've eaten at Bricco in the last 3 years and it did not disappoint. We took our friends who were traveling with us. We had a 6:16pm reservation for a Saturday night in September and the place was super busy. We checked in and got seated right away - upstairs. I knew my wife wouldn't be happy with having climb the stairs but what was nice up there was that it was much less noisier than the main level. Alex was our server and she was fun and great. We started with drinks and the included bread. Two of us had wine and two of us had Old-fashioneds. They muddle their fruit here. Not my preference but it the drinks ended up being 'okay'. The bread was soft and the spreads offered were tasty. We ordered our dinners as follows: - Beef Short Rib on Mashed Potatoes (I subbed the potatoes as polenta was standard) - Sea Bass on a Potato Cake - 8oz Beef Tenderloin Filet - Salmon - Side: Creamed Parmesan Spinach - Side: Roasted Brussels Sprouts - Side: Gnocchi with Lobster My Beef Short Rib was amazingly tender and tasty. My wife's Sea Bass was probably the best her or I have ever had. The preparation was unusual and amazing. My friend's Beef Filet was so tasty and tender - likely Prime grade. I did try my friend's wife's Salmon but she enjoyed it. We were too full to try any of Bricco's dessert but had I had room, I was considering their Bread Pudding. In our experience, reservations are a must for dinner at Bricco. If you're going all out, each ordering their own meal and some sides, it's going to be $$$. Knowing that going it - it was an amazing meal.
Great Boston Restaurant with Downtown vibes. Small but had plenty of seating and the bar is much larger than it looks (wraps around both sides). SERVICE: Great from start to finish. We asked if we could grab a table without a reservation and they found us a spot right away at the bar. Our bartender talked us into their famous espresso martini - which was fabulous if course HIGHLT RECOMMEND! FOOD: Superb! We had the Duck and the Sea Bass. Both came out perfectly cooked and tased delicious. I was visiting, but will come back next time I am in town!

I've been a fan of the North End for 25 years. This was our first experience dining at Bricco. We enjoyed a wonderful evening of superb service from Alexa. Her wine and food suggestions were excellent. Our entrees were the Fettuccine Carbonara and 7-Spice Brick Chicken, both absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is North End cozy. Definitely worth a return visit. read more

Bricco is Boston's Best (at least in my eyes)! Our first time here and wow were we impressed. The North End has so many Italian restaurants to choose from but Bricco definitely stands out for sure. They are one of the first restaurants you see when walking down Hanover Street (from Faneuil Hall), they have a gorgeous bar (some spots do not have one at all), they have friendly staff, especially the bartender we had, a spectacular and premier wine menu for both BTG and bottle and incredible Italian food that makes you want seconds. Bricco is just one of the many restaurants that this restaurant group owns. They also own Assaggio, Aqua Pazza, and Quattro, to name a few. We only shared the meatballs since we weren't all that hungry and they were delicious. I had a few glasses of their Montepulciano which was fantastic and super smooth. We shared their award-winning Espresso Martini for dessert. Bricco should be on your "restaurant bucket list" as your next date night spot for sure. I also would recommend reservations, especially on the weekends. Or you can always eat at the bar too if they have room. Cheers to Italian food in the North End! read more
Bricco is a great Italian restaurant. The taste of the food was amazing and the service was friendly and attentive. We were in Boston for a night and were looking for a good meal. A local recommended Bricco as one of their favorite go to spots. The restaurant was full, but we were able to get a couple of seats at the bar. The bartender was friendly and gave good service. The food was incredible. -- We started with bread, garlic, pesto and seasonings (10/10). -- For appetizer, we had CAB Dry Aged Beef Carpaccio with arugula, parmigiano and truffle essence (8/10). -- For the meal, we had another appetizer - Octopus which was dry roasted with ginger & jalapeño crust and served with purple potato and string bean salad. This was amazing (10/10). -- For dessert we had a Deconstructed Tiramisú. Very good (9/10). I highly recommend Bricco. Fantastic food. read more

The best Italian sandwich you will ever have. I used to live in Revere for a few years back in 2014 and I came back to Boston for a day trip after all these years. This was first stop because I missed the best sandwich in the area. I took my panino with me on the road back to Jersey and ate it for dinner. It was so delicious. If you are ever in the North End this is the spot for a truly authentic Italian sandwich. read more
Our first time in Boston and we picked one of the best Italian places right off the first shot! We walked up to Bricco, not knowing what to expect and we left and felt like we experienced a little bit of Italy here in the Northeast! . When you walk in, they will serve you bread at your table with three types of dipping sauces. It looks great in the picture, but the bread was a little dry for my tastes. We didn't get the caprice salad which was phenomenal and colorful and looked great. Well presented! We then the ravioli with beef that was absolutely flavorful, and the sauce was outstanding! The atmosphere, the food quality, and the espresso martinis were all amazing! The waitress was nice and got the job done. The pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly. Tucked away in a zen like ambiance this spot won't disappoint. Wine bottles hang by their extremities above aged bar tops and tables aligned closely amongst the organized hustle and bustle. This tasty little Italian restaurant is not an easy place to find, but being tucked away in a small alleyway clearly doesn't hurt their business. I was looking for a light sandwich for lunch, but here they don't serve anything light, here a sandwich is a meal! Being an Italian restaurant surrounded by Italian markets that sell everything homemade, I felt it necessary to try a meatball sub which was excellent. The house made meatballs with the perfect consistency for a sandwich, smothered in a rich sauce and stuffed in the fresh sourdough bread was excellent. It's a great little takeout shop that serves excellent food, if you're lucky you might find a seat at one of the two tables outside. Cheers! read more

Service was a 5 Food was a 4 Ambiance on a Saturday night a 3 It was jam-packed in here and incredibly loud. It's definitely not the spot for a romantic dinner. The bathrooms were a disaster, I even picked up the woman's bc it was embarrassing. We ordered the carpaccio and pork parpadelle pasta. Both entrees were delicious. They're known for their handmade pasta, which they do in-house. I made reservations online, and there is a full bar if you'd like drinks. When I asked if they checked coats they looked at me like I was crazy then realized it's a thing LOL and they checked mine. It's a small place with no where to put anything. read more
Don't get me wrong-- I DO love the food here. We ordered the burrata and meatballs to start, and the pappardelle al cinghiale (wild boar braised in red wine with mushrooms) and the tortelli pumpkin as mains, and we loved every dish. Oh, and the espresso martinis were *chef's kiss* However, the wait was ridiculous. We had a reservation and got seated and introduced by the server right away, but we did not see the server for another hour thereafter... which is weird because the place is kind of small (but it was also cramped). And they are so quick to turn the tables over once they check out lol. read more

Very spot for a pre or post dinner drink! Their martinis are always delicious. Bar is two sided and has plenty of room. Also be sure to check out their market located on the side alley in the back. read more
This gem was recommended to my colleague and I from a waitress at another restaurant we went to for happy hour. We sat at the bar and were greeted by a friendly bartender. The bread and spreads were delicious. I enjoyed the roasted garlic and white bean spreads. The baked egg plant was delicious as well. For our entrees we split the shrimp pasta and wild boar pappardelle. Both were really good but my favorite was the shrimp pasta. The sauce was amazing! read more

Had a 5 star experience here recently. Food, service, and ambiance were all great. Would definitely return when/if in the area. Also - ordered cacio pepe which wasn't on the menu, and it might have been the best I've ever had. read more

Probably one of the best Italian restaurants in the north end (and I've been to almost all of them). Definitely a place to see and be seen. No gluten free menu but the waiters are very knowledgeable about celiac and gluten free options were offered. The GF gnocchi was delicious. I was a little disappointed they did not offer gluten free bread since the dips looked amazing. Maybe some cre de te instead would have been nice. Overall a great dinner. read more
Came in for a random weekday dinner with friends. The place was decently busy around the 6:30 dinnertime but we were seated quickly and the servers were attentive. The complimentary bread was okay, a bit hard and maybe not the freshest though. We got the burrata as an appetizer and that was really good but maybe could've come with more than one slice of bread. For my main, I got their penne pasta with lobster meat dish. I really liked it. The pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked and they were really generous with the lobster meat, esp for the price. Nice environment for a summer dinner. The windows were all open to the north end busy streets. Overall, a good place for dinner. Not mind blowing but a nice dinner in the north end! read more

1st time here and what an amazing experience! Wolmar is the best waiter, hands down. I have allergies and he reassured me multiple times that I would be taken care of and not to worry. Also, eat whatever dish he recommends- the gnocchi is phenomenal! And he went out of his way and made sure I could still get dessert . 100/10, would recommend read more
Good but not my favorite Northend restaurant. Service is amazing. Romantic setting. Business casual. The complimentary bread comes with three dipping selections. Garlic, pesto, and a bean dip. The entree portions are on the smaller side. Menu has lots of selections. Cocktail menu is pricey. I had the old fashioned that had great flavor but it was full of ice, which watered the drink down. read more
My new favorite appetizer ..... Zucchini Flowers at Bricco!!! The North End is perfect for Italian cuisine and excellent service with the classy and sexy Italian style!!! We love octopus and Bricco delivers a tender and mouthwatering version! The Tuna Tartare was delicate, generous portion as an appetizer. Main course Halibut from Alaska cooked in the wood fired oven was the highlight of the evening. We saved the burrata with prosciutto and shaved melon for last, a perfect dessert. My husband and I flew into town for a quick weekend get away. We had dinner at another restaurant however we came here for our after dinner cocktail. Bricco's came highly recommended for their Espresso Martini. They did not disappoint, it was absolutely delicious. We will definitely stop back for food if time permits. Here for a work dinner but Bricco never disappoints. This place is always busy which tells you something. Sat upstairs by the window with a great view of Hanover street. Service was outstanding. The upstairs has a little bit of an old house feel but quite nice. Now the food. Appetizers were the octopus, meatballs, and shrimp scampi. All were delish but the octopus was the highlight. Perfectly cooked, delish. Then the entrees. The had the Bricco Brodetto, a full plate of fish and shellfish in a light savory delicious broth. Highly recommend it. Others at the table had an array of pastas and one steak. Everything looked delish. Dessert highlight was the deconstructed tiramisu. Outstanding. Bricco was my last restaurant stop during my Boston trip. It's definitely a great place and we were seated by the window so we had a good view of the street. The menu isn't huge, but the food items our table ordered were very delicious. The service of degree in our experience here overall was very good. read more
Of all the Italian places in northern Bricco stands out more than the rest. They have the most comfortable bar and knowledgeable staff. The pasta is excellent but highly recommend getting one of the meat choices. I have been here multiple times and truly enjoy it every time. read more

From walking in the door, all staff were warm and friendly! The design is cute -/ the ambiance would be too if it wasn't so loud. The bread they give you is good but the dips need work. The garlic was so good but the pesto was offensive -- in fact I don't even feel good calling it pesto. The other dip was good but I had no idea what it was because I couldn't hear the waiter -- he was plenty loud it was just drowned out among the noise. The espresso martini was superb and I will return for another one. The food you can skip and get better price and quality down the street. $20 for 2.5 meatballs that are luke warm is offensive to my small bank account. The sauce was good but not good enough to dip the bread in like an animal which I was hoping to do !!! read more

This might be the best restaurant in the north end. Service is unbelievable and the food is amazing. Our waiter was so knowledgeable and so helpful all throughout. It is beautiful inside the restaurant and offers a great vibe for a date night or special celebration. read more
The sign on Hanover St make claim to the best sandwiches in town and directs you to into walking alley, that sets the picture for hidden gem. Of course we got the Italian's Special. The ingredients were splendid, a thin on the meat quantity, unfortunately the bread quality was too hard. We took the sandwiches back to the balcony in our room it was our loss. read more

i don't think I ever saw any gluten free pizza or pasta options.
Is Bricco child friendly?
Not child friendly. They will seat you upstairs in no mans land where you cannot see or be seen.
Where is the closest and safest parking?
Go to haymaker parking garage it very safe and walking distance to Bricco
What type of attire is recommend?
You can be casual. I wore jeans and a nice blouse
Has anyone had gotten anything vegan at this place... do they make accommodations?
I do not know....but I would be surprised if they don't accommodate. Everything is made fresh and I have had them adjust dishes to my liking.
Are the appetizers big enough for a meal on their own?
Yes. The calamari is s nice portion for IVR it even two to share. Apps are great here!
