Here's what we tried: *Charred shishito peppers- tasty but spicy! *13 minute scotch egg *Poutine with bone marrow gravy - these were amazing, that gravy was everything! *Pork Cheeks & polenta- this is the only thing we wouldn't order again. the cheeks and the polenta were both flavorless...needed to add salt *The Burger- half pound all beef patty with bacon jam, bacon, and we switched out the goat cheese for cheddar. It was served with house cut fries. The fries and the burger were VERY, VERY good. I was craving them the next day! *Croque Madame Pizza - served deep dish, with béchamel, prosciutto, gruyere, and an over-easy egg. PERFECTION! We ordered this as an app to share, but I'm ordering my own next time! As far as drinks go, I had the "Beet the Mule" and the "Apricot Manhattan". Aside from subpar table service, great food and amazing cocktails! This place clearly puts effort in their menu, both drinks and food. We started at the bar, while we waited for our tables, and I was impressed with the quality of ingredients. I struck up a conversation with one of the bartenders (assumed he was the lead) and he explained to be that when he moved here from out-of-state, this was the only bar that he pictured himself working at, as they allowed more expression and experimenting with their cocktails - and he did not let us down! When our table was ready, we closed our tab at the bar and moved outside. The server took her time getting to us, and I had to go up to the hostess stand to get menus. We ordered an appetizer, and when it arrived we did not have silverware or linen. Once again, I had to go up to the hostess stand to get silverware roll-ups. Working in the industry before, I understand that this is mainly the hostesses responsibility when seating us, but the server should have been more aware of what was missing. When the food arrived, it looked amazing and tasted just as good! Everyone was very pleased with what they ordered. Always a fun spot to hit up while in Downtown Abacoa. Service is super friendly, cocktails are inventive and delicious, and food is delicious. Although I've come here multiple times, I had never had a proper meal here before last night. I ordered the Smørrebrød (try saying that three times fast...or once). I was "warned" while ordering that the dish wasn't fully finalized yet. I found it delicious regardless. My friends both enjoyed their dishes as well (Fish and Chips and the Wedge Salad, respectively). The cocktails were the real winners. I had the Lavender Old Fashioned which was, uh, heavenly. This place hands down hit every single craving I had. I came here not knowing what to expect right before a hocus pocus drag show (which was AMAZING). The vibe here is awesome, so clean which is a plus and the bathrooms have cool murals. Who doesn't love something to look at in the Lou? I was the lucky recipient of an email from Brick & Barrel letting me know that they were offering me a free cocktail or burger for my birthday. I was out and about in the Jupiter area and decided to stop in and take them up on their offer. They are located in Abacoa and the area is a little quieter on a weeknight than on the weekends but that suited me fine as I was able to walk in and get a seat at the bar right away. The restaurant has a really great vibe, exactly what you would picture for a craft cocktail kinda place with high ceilings, lots of wood and a beautiful bar with gorgeous liquor bottles all the way to the ceiling and a library ladder that the bartenders actually use to get to the top shelf. I was greeted right away by Nick who offered me water. I said yes as I knew I wanted a drink and the hydration would be good to start with. I looked over the cocktail menu and it was really hard to decide since they have a lot of great choices that you don't find anywhere else. I narrowed it down to two and asked Nick for his recommendation. He was quick to say the Blowing Rocks was his favorite so that's the one I went with. It took a minute but I knew he was working on it as I could see him adding a little bit of this and a little bit of that. It was worth the wait! Presentation was awesome! They use the big cubes of ice and there was a sprig of rosemary in my glass along with an apricot on top of the ice with some sea salt. It tasted even better than it looked! Really yummy with hints of apricot, lemon, ginger and honey. I really liked it a lot! I was sipping on that for a little while and Nick and the other bartender, Peabo, were very friendly as were the other patrons I spoke with. The night I was there was karaoake night and Peabo said he was going to go with a Bob Seger song and asked me to help him decide between two songs. I made my suggestion and later he was up there singing the one I chose. He was really good, too! In fact, everyone who got up to perform there was good! I was impressed and enjoyed their singing. It was nice to hear different tunes than all the usuals. Another cool thing was that the audience was very supportive and sang along and applauded everyone. I decided to order something to eat and took a look at their dinner menu. Another hard decision because everything sounded wonderful. I went with the grilled snapper and it came with a creamy celery puree and nice chunks of tender lobster. There was also some cubed, cooked celery and slivers of green apple and the person who delivered the plate poured a lovely sauce along the sides of the fish which I thought was better than pouring it over. The presentation was beautiful but not so pretty that I didn't dive right in. Oh my gosh! It was absolutely delicious and I enjoyed every bite! A generous portion and the mix of textures was perfect! Nick and Peabo were right there to make sure I had everything that I needed. Service was amazing! Another nice touch is the napkin/dish towel which was striped and soft and so much better than a stiff starchy dinner napkin or paper. The guys offered up dessert but I devoured my whole meal so I only had room for an after dinner drink. Peabo asked me if I had any dietary restrictions and I don't but it was getting closer to 9 and I wanted to get a good night's sleep so my only specification was no coffee or espresso. Well, he went to work and created a drink that was perfect! Chocolatey with a little peanut butter flavor and cinnamon. He made it up as he went along and was trying to decide what to name it so I told him one of my nicknames is Julsie so maybe he could call it that and he said ok, it has been christened! Voila! That went right in the nooks and crannys that were left in my tummy and was the perfect ending to a fabulous meal! I wish I would have gotten pix of my entree and dessert drink but I dove into them quickly and didn't give myself a chance. It was a beautiful plate though and the second drink had a little cinnamon sprinkle on it. Really nice! I very much enjoyed my time at Brick & Barrel and will get back there again soon! read more

There aren't enough superlatives for Brick & Barrell I've been before and enjoyed unique and delicious cocktails but was lucky enough to attend a private party there over the weekend. Chef Nick Dellinger is an absolute genius. The presentation of his food was beautiful, from magnificent charcuterie boards to the desserts each was more visually appetizing than the next. The concepts of Nick's food were simple, but the flavors all intricate and complex. Brie grilled cheese with marmalade; a variety of sliders; Mini Reubens; Boursin cheese stuffed mushrooms; jerk wings; pistachio whipped feta dip - and so much more. Everyone was raving about each mouth watering bite. Along with amazing food was an exceptional staff. Attentive and personable each one added to the experience with their great attitudes and fantastic service. I can't wait until we are back in the area so we can return! read more

In the evening or the fall I'm sure it's a perfect spot to enjoy the outdoors with your pup! We enjoyed the pig ears - crispy and a nice spice mixture. Then we ordered two focaccia breads - mushroom with goat cheese and one with tomatoes. Both were great! There is a nice beer list and other beers on tap. I've been wanting to try Brick & Barrel for awhile. Enjoyed a Wonderful Saturday Brunch today and was not disappointed in any aspect. My husband (a London native) said he would definitely be back for the One Pan English Breakfast. It's a spin off of a classic Full English with two eggs made to order, excellent bacon, delicious crispy potatoes, sweet cooked tomatoes, beans and toast. I enjoy a good Old Fashioned and am often disappointed by restaurants' specialties. The Breakfast in Bed I received here was excellent. We also split a flavorful Buffalo Mozzarella Salad and Scotch Egg. Every bit was as delicious as the next. including English Breakfast, Scotch Egg and a Breakfast in Bed Old Fashioned. I've found my Happy Place. The section of the bar pictured is dedicated to Whiskey. Other inferior liquors are relegated to a small section around the corner...as it should be. read more

We did take out from here the other night and were pleasantly surprised with our dishes. The order was on time and pick up was easy. We got the classic wedge salad, watermelon salad, fish & chips, and the burger. The classic wedge salad was a bit smaller than he was expecting but the fish and chips were good. The watermelon salad was really good with radishes, beets, and all together yummy flavors! The burger traveled home much better than expected and wasn't cooked to a hockey puck. After being sat no one greeted or brought menus for 15 min, then told us no more food. Not a huge deal but definitely didn't think this was the venue for us. ** after reading the managers response I don't disagree that the food was quick, or that once we were sat and asked for menus we got service. We were told to find a seat by the host after checking in, so we didn't rudely seat ourselves. As for the food, again it was speedy, but unfortunately wasn't warm, which was confusing as I'm sure it was just made. Everyone was very busy it appeared and we didn't flag anyone down to complain. We did eat the majority of the food, because despite not being hot, it was good and we were very hungry. Second trip here. I was not impressed either time I was here. This time I was coming for the wild boar ossco busco but it's on the menu but not available. I was told it was the featured dish. So I did not get to try it. It tried the gnocchi with pork belly the gnocchi was soaked in oil and the pork belly was just average. The pig ears intrigued me but was disappointing. I really wanted to like this place but I just can't! I came here based on the Yelp! reviews and what a mistake. The service was excellent but the food I ordered a chicken plate with haricot vert and potatoes au gratin, sorry I completely forgot the name, but the potatoes were undercooked and bland, along with the chicken. For dessert, I ordered the sticky bun bread pudding and it was a wet mess, I eat my oats stiffer than that. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone for any reason. read more

Brick & Barrel should change their name to Easily & Offended. I made a business card joke (with tip) on Halloween and was refused service even after apologizing and saying I only meant it as a joke. The show before hand was amazing but it seemed joy can't intermingle with comedy. Great drink, wonderful showmanship, best doorman (who can take a joke and hold a mean door (thank you)), but poor bar service. Then after leaving an honest review it seemed that David is also of the opinion that I said something wrong. If you want to attend an establishment with good drinks, entertaining shows, but run by overly prideful people, look no further than Brick & Barrel. i stopped in because of the cumulative 4 star yelp reviews on a Monday night at 9pm. with only 2 people inside at the bar, and the restaurant next door bustling with people, I was a bit skeptical and went in for dinner anyway. bottom line: empty restaurants are usually empty for a reason. the bar tender was very helpful and promptly filled my empty water glass; service was good. but the food was average, at best. i ordered the jamaican curry shrimp. seems like the shrimp were previously frozen. the curry sauce was sweet and there were some breaded yucca deep fried sticks that also came with it. all the food was aveta he, like it all came from a box and heated up. this place is a bar, not a gastropub. read more

Very popular as happy hour was on when we arrived. Asian style ribeye was over spiced and over salted - great piece of meat that they just tried too hard on. We found the selection of beer on tap to be extremely limited. On the menu, clearly a function of the menu sections for their beer, bottled beer was titled "Premium Beer" and included Bud Light and Michelob Light.
