Waxin's is hands down our favorite Swedish restaurant we've been to, we've come here a few times and it never disappoints You have to start with their Swedish Style Caviar topped with red onions, chives, dill, lemon, crème fraîche on butter fried toast We also tried the Toast Skagen (hand peeled shrimp, horseradish, lemon dill mayonnaise on butter fried toast)... so good. For my main, I went a little unexpected and got the Heaven & Hell Salad (buffalo chicken nuggets, mixed greens, queso fresco, strawberries, apples, onions, ranch dressing). Somehow the combo just WORKS. Easily one of the best salads I've had in a while. Don't skip the brussels sprouts either, they're seriously so good. And of course, you can never go wrong with their burger and sweet potato fries Their original location in Palm Beach Gardens still has my heart, but they just opened on Clematis in West Palm perfect spot to grab drinks too. Went here on a Monday night for a celebratory dinner. We were seated right away with our reservation and had the option of sitting inside or outside. We chose inside but both were beautiful options. We were waited on promptly. We ordered ceviche and a Caesar salad to start which were both great. We had to try the meatballs which were also half off because it was Monday. They came with mashed potatoes and it was absolutely delicious. My fiancé could have just eaten them all night. We also had the Swedish cod which was light and a nice addition to go with the heavier meatballs. We ended the night with a shot that I've seen so much about. Swedish meatballs are like ikea but a bit better with a teaspoon of lingonberries and some cucumber plus a scoop of mashed potatoes-- and too spicy for Some people but others will love the gravy and this creative dish. Sadly, the neighboring cigar/bar Cavo, means smoke is traveling inside of this entire new restaurant. The jelly roll was tiny and not good but the tart was a bit better. Hope this feedback helps. We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday. We had a nice table outside on a gorgeous evening Everybody started off with a cocktail they have a really nice cocktail menu that includes bourbon, gin tequila and vodka. Their menu has a Swedish influence, a lot of the items on the menu are marked as Swedish dishes. We shared an order of the Swedish meatball entree for the table and an order of the burrata The Swedish meatballs come with lingonberry and mashed potatoes. They have an extensive menu that includes meats, seafood and pasta dishes. I had the tuna steak which comes with asparagus, it was very good. Several of my friends had pasta dishes. The manager sent us out a flight of their Hot Shots which are made with vanilla liqueur espresso and cream. They were yummy. We had 3 desserts, the bananarama and the smoked. The Smoked was dollops of smoked meringue with some chocolate and brownie pieces. I really loved the smoked flavor. read more

Delicious Swedish restaurant in Palm Beach Gardens. Great for a group of friends, date night or drinks at the bar. Our server told us around 10pm a DJ comes out and it turns into more late night vibes. The cocktails were great, I remember my dirty Ketel martini with blue cheese olives was one of the best I've tasted. As for the food, also phenomenal. Raved over the Black Truffle Linguini (fresh, not fake oil tasting) and Swedish Meatballs- how could you not order? The Filet Patrik's way was superior compared to the Beef Rydberg, but mainly because we don't enjoy horseradish. We had to skip dessert for how full we became, but that didn't stop us from trying their famous hot shots- a must order. I'm excited for their new West Palm location to open up later this year. The ambiance inside is a whole vibe! Outside has seating as well but with this rainy weather lately inside is the safer bet. Depending on where you sit it's feels different to me. The bar is a bit more lit compared to the other areas which I liked. The service is top tier. Our server knew his stuff from the drinks to the menu. He constantly checked on us as did the other staff. Our food was prepared for perfectly and tasted as so, same for the drinks. You can substitute the alcohol for your choice. Overall, pretty good food. No complaints at all. The service was really good as well. The ambience is pretty high-end. One thing I did notice was what I caught as a glimpse into the ingredients they use in the kitchen and it may not be top dollar. I saw Dominos Sugar which to me is a low-grade "toxic" ingredient. I went and took my son for dinner there tonight. We were enjoying dinner until a bunch of men came outside sat next to our table and started smoking cigars. An absolute disgrace. I asked the waiter if this is allowed, he said that the owner allows it since they are good customers. I went to the owner and complained why are you allowing this when other people are trying to enjoy their dinner and she said we allow this outside. She also said also because they are good customers. I do not know if she was the owner or if she was the manager, but this is an absolute disgrace. We had to get up and leave because of the smell from the smoke. Not only was the food awful but the attitude of the owner or manager was was disgusting. If they allow smoking outside then they should put signs up stating cigars smoking allowed and cigarette smoking allowed. They had no such signs anywhere. I would advise anybody and everybody do not go to this disgusting place. A total waste of money. If they allow this filth and this filthy dirty smoke to be around other customers who knows how their kitchen or their meals are even prepared. A filthy disgusting environment. I am highly allergic to smoke and had to immediately go home to get medication so I can breathe properly. I might even file legal charges against their restaurant. Waxin's Restaurang and Bar - at first I thought someone had made a terrible mistake on the sign outside the restaurant (see attached photo). I did someone research and discovered restaurang is the Swedish word for restaurant. Waxin's is a high end restaurant featuring Scandinavian cuisine and a very appealing trendy atmosphere. The restaurant was not crowded but it took a long time for the server to take our drink orders. The Cod I ordered was excellent, but my wife was a little disappointed in the Swedish Meatballs - not any better than what you get at IKEA. The drinks were a little overpriced and I am not sure I would recommend it over other restaurants in the area. Macon's is located in the Alton Town Center and has plenty of parking. We had seen the restaurant for at least a year, but had never been able to decipher it's name due to the strange font used in their signage. read more

Came in for our Anniversary and absolutely loved it! We came in right when they opened we were the second people in. We came in during low season we were told they are much busier during high season. They also told us after 9:30 they turn into a sort of neighborhood night club with a great vibe. They also have a happy hour (social hour) between 4 and 6pm. We had the skagen appetizers and the chef special which was a tenderloin with mushrooms and a potato like bread their version of biscuits and gravy. Absolutely delicious and perfect sized. A Swedish restaurant in Palm Beach Gardens? Yes and it's pretty good. We generally go for the carpaccio which is a large portion and very good quality. Their Caesar is great, but I would skip the croutons but do enjoy the pieces of bacon. Their truffle pasta is excellent, and the fries are really good. Service is always amazing and the outdoor seating is great if you want more action stay indoors where there's a busy bar and it's a little louder. I prefer outdoors. read more

This was my first time trying waxins and it's fantastic. The decor is wonderful, stylish and chic. Service is wonderful, very informative and polite. We started with the Swedish shrimp toast appetizer and it was wonderful. The portions and appropriate for a meal. Not a huge portion, perfect size. Both the cod and salmon were wonderful. This is a bar disguised as a restaurant that serves average food and extremely overpriced drinks. The food is reasonably priced but nothing special, and the portions are small. Elegant ambiance but too loud to carry a conversation without raising your voice. The service is hit or miss, depending on the staff member. Last night the host outside the front door was courteous and professional. Unfortunately after I was seated, the waitress was completely the opposite. She was untrained, unprepared, and unprofessional. For some reason she walked away when I asked for suggestions on the menu. A couple of minutes later a second waitress showed up and asked me if I was ready to order. I said I needed a minute to look at the menu. About five minutes later a waiter approached the high top area where I was sitting and asked if I needed anything! I told him I was waiting for one of the two waitresses. He said he could go get one of them or take care of me. After he made a suggestion and explained the details, I ordered the Beef Rydberh and a glass of Napa Valley cabernet. A very unique place. Swedish food! Always love to try something different. We made reservations for 6:30 last Monday. The inside is super cool and trendy. They have some interesting dishes as well as some regular things. I got the Swedish meatballs. My boyfriend got the wallenbergare. My dad got the bouillabaisse and my Mom got the chicken sandwich. We've tried this place twice. End of April and end of May. First trip we got seated by the kitchen despite whole patio being open. We waited over an hour for our food and the waiter told us the kitchen was backed up as we watched everyone around us getting their food long enough to see leftovers bagged up. Our waiter never came once to tell us anything it wasn't until the manager walked by and saw we were upset. The waiter came and offered to comp a drink and the. he forgot those. Round two in May i ordered a steak medium and it was so rare it was ruining the rest of the food on my plate. Took forever to even get our entrees. The waiter brought us shots to compensate which we didn't even ask for. It wasn't even busy either times as it was a Wed and Thurs (off season). I won't be going back. read more

We were excited to try some Scandinavian cuisine, and decided to do dinner with two other couples to try it out. The restaurant is located in a really nice plaza, and parking was plentiful. The Good: We had drinks at the bar while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. Even though we arrived early and had to change the reservation from 4 people to six, the hostess was gracious and helpful with our request. Quality service to be sure. Opting for the quieter side of the restaurant, we were seated and ordered drinks and appetizers for our table. All of the food on the menu was excellent, well prepared and fresh. Everybody thought their entree was a hit. It's obvious the kitchen knows their stuff. The Less Good: At first our waiter suggested things for us to order. This is normally a good thing. It's less good when you decline more appetizers or more drinks, and suggestions keep coming. "No" is a complete answer, and when, after politely declining something, you are told that "hey maybe get one after all, or try this instead" and it happens several times throughout your meal, you start to feel like you are eating dinner inside a dealership. It wasn't totally terrible, but it was a bit off-putting. This was our only gripe about the night, otherwise we had a really good time. Looking forward to give this place another go! read more

Really solid food from the kitchen, good service, and a nice atmosphere. A good place for a date or to bring guests from out of town. Lots of good technique from the grill cook. Can't comment on how authentically Swedish anything is, but the menu seems to balance Swedish dishes with other things worth eating. Also, an amazing lemon cocktail with the basil and the not too sweetness and the excellence. That said, it's not the best table in town nor is it really great value for money.
