Just visited on a Friday night and even though the restaurant was full, the service was amazing. We had Heather as our server and she was so nice and respectful. I had read many reviews and was really looking forward to trying this place. I had already looked at the menu before we left the house, and had decided what to order. We made reservations for our anniversary. Got there and were immediately knocked over by how loud it was. Waiter took us to a table in the bar area. It was so loud, I could hardly hear the waiter. The front of the restaurant was the bar and looked like a bar, but the back half looked somewhat plain and made me think of the restaurants that occupied that space before them. I asked if we could get another table at the back. Despite having reservations and seeing empty tables, we were told we would have to wait 15 minutes for a table. We decided not to stay. We will probably go back, but not for dinner. Hopefully the back, during the day, will be quiet enough to hold a conversation. read more

Went for Sunday brunch ordered Mimosas at the bar which are listed as $8 on menu. The bartender told us they we are out of champagne so they gave us the small bottles of La Marca, which were $12. The first drink we received we got the mimosa and the remaining La Marca, this only happened for one of the four we ordered. When questioned about the other three she said she mixed both the La Marca and the House Champagne together. Which means we did not receive four mimosas with La Marca, it was a mixture of the Prosecco and Champagne but yet we were charged the $12. Our check for 4 mimosas and an appetiser were $64. For the future you can go across the street and a large mimosa is $5. read more

We were super excited to try Herb & Ember, and we visited recently for dinner. Not only was the ambiance beautiful and romantic, the drinks and food were delish. The ahi tuna nachos were fantastic; we could have eaten many, many more. I ordered the butter chicken, which was a nice, lighter option, while my husband ordered the French dip. The beef was lean and the sweet potato fries were super yummy. The service was also stand out, with Chef Kadir warmly welcoming us and our sweet server, Heather, being extremely attentive and equally excited for us to try various menu items as we were! Overall, it's a great place for date night or friends' dinner. We took our very well-behaved 3-year-old and he did well, but he was the only kid there. It's an upscale restaurant to bring kids to, although they do have a cache of high chairs just in case and were very welcoming to our toddler and us. Either way, check this place out! Super vibey with wonderful food and great staff. Herb & Ember has the same fantastic owners/chef as the Ferah concepts, and it's easy to see all the expertise at work here. Very nice! read more

Great service, food just ok. Went with a large party and was seated and service got underway. The staff did a great job attending to all of us. Ordered a few shareables and they were ok, the truffle fries were good. Coconut shrimp with ok, tasted like frozen ones that you make at home so nothing special. I ordered the Korean salmon tacos, salmon was a little fishy and overall flavor wasn't what I expected. It was ok, not bad but nothing I would return for. Sweet potato fries were good and hot. The restaurant has a great vibe & is super cool. Saturday & Sunday they have a brunch menu. We started with expresso martini & basil hayden on an ice rock. Our food was hot and delicious!! My husband ordered steak & eggs. cooked perfectly & only $18. Rib eye steak, scrambled eggs & potatoes. I had chicken marsala and it was delicious. Chicken with gravy and mushrooms and root veggies. So good, especially the brussel sprouts!! I also had a vesper! Most bars do not have the ingredients! It's top shelf vodka and gin and lillet blanc aperitif wine. From James bond era. She made it to Perfection. so good!! There is street parking available. Bathrooms were super clean! Great restaurant, great location, great food, and great service! We will be back!! read more

I want to practice this by saying the service was phenomenal. I really love the atmosphere of the restaurant, you have the option to sit inside or outside. It is dimly lit, but you can still see outside and the music was tolerable. With that being said, I went to brunch on Sunday and was unfortunately disappointed by the food. I ordered the steak and eggs and there was no flavor to the steak besides the grill marks. The broccolini was seasoned well and the egg was also really good. I also loved the potatoes however, the potatoes did not have any flavor. I asked for steak sauce that they don't have so they offered me two other sauces like the glaze and it unfortunately had no flavor. I will try this place again solely on the service, however, I would encourage them to look at adding some flavor to their food. Also will probably clean off the grill. read more

Me and my husband were looking for a late night dinner at 10pm and were excited to see the new Herb & Ember was open. The ambience is immediate, low lit and very stylishly decorated. Feels very cozy yet luxurious at the same time. We sat outside and enjoyed the elegant patio. (I also loved the house music!) As I'm 7 months pregnant, I was pleasantly surprised that all the signature drinks can be made as mocktails. We ordered the New York Sour and a mocktail Smash with the Italian caprese flatbread. The drinks were unique and beautiful. The flatbread was absolutely delicious, as I'm used to Caprese dishes typically being bland. The freshness of the tomatoes with crispy string onions, creamy cheese and the acidity of the balsamic worked beautifully. Also as someone allergic to nuts, the nut-free pesto was awesome. We wrapped it up with the tiramisu and a Rosemary old fashioned. The smokiness of the old fashioned was incredible. The tiramisu was light and absolutely loved the raspberry sauce that came with it. (Our amazing waitress Ngan even got us extra of the sauce, she was so attentive and energetic!) Overall, we greatly enjoyed our experience and can't wait to visit again! read more

Such a great experience trying a new spot in Firewheel! The vibe and ambiance were amazing, felt like a trendy Uptown restaurant without the drive. The food was just as impressive!!! The poke nachos were incredible, and for entrees, the butter chicken and almond crusted Chilean sea bass were perfection. The hubby and I were excited to try this gem as soon as we saw it being built. The decor and ambiance are inviting and cozy, even for a warm spring evening. We were immediately greeted and seated, and Terry was a fantastic, attentive server. Plus, the happy hour specials are a great value! Where things fell a bit short was the food. While everything arrived in a timely manner and was beautifully plated, the flavors were underwhelming. We ordered the crab cakes, deviled eggs, Cajun pasta, and the cookie dough cheesecake. Everything just needed a little extra love: more seasoning, a drizzle of acid or oil, or a thicker sauce. Also, the choice to pair a chocolate chip cheesecake with a berry sauce felt a bit mismatched. Overall, it's a great environment with excellent service, but may need to dial in on the flavors. No rush to return, but we'd be open to trying different menu items in the future. read more

Wife and I ate here for lunch as we have passed by many times at the mall. Service was great and foid was pretty good, atmosphere was good as well, music at times was loud for some reason but over alk the experience was good. My complaint is I feel like as expensive as going out is getting we need a mid teir of lunch menu. I feel like this place is a little pricey. My wife and i shared our food and the bill was $90 for 2 people for lunch granted we did have beers. We ordered 1) crab cakes, cup of lobster bisque, double cheese burger 2 add ons, 4 beers. So far, we are batting 500 on service: first time, top-of-the-line; 2nd, not so much. Let's skip that, as sometimes servers have an off-table... that's cool. Hit-or-miss with the meatballs: first time amazing; 2nd time overcooked to a fault. burned on one side. I had the Cajun pasta, OK both times, but it had some flavor. My wife had the chicken sandwich, which was good but basic. The issue is the noise; you can't hear yourself think, let alone talk. Food timing could use some work, chalking that up to a slammed kitchen. Going to need to do better next time, or we won't be back. read more

Herb & Ember is a sister store to Ferah. Ferah is very good and I've been there a few times and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The atmosphere at Herb and Ember is very similar and I give them points for a well-decorated restaurant and a very attentive and personable staff. Our waiter was top notch. The problem is the food. I get what they are trying to do, but I worry about the sustainability of Herb & Ember given the competition out there for New American. The smash burger was very dry and bland and was sent back. The $23 French dip was pitiful. The beef in a French dip should be pretty rare, but the meat inside this one was very tough, overcooked, and seemed burned on the edges. For the price tag, the sandwich should've been much larger. And for a member of the clean plate club to not finish their meal says something about the food. The brunch flatbread was decent but nothing exciting. The cocktails were great though. Would I try this place again? Sure, for a cocktail, but not for food. What I'd like to tell them is that I want their restaurant to succeed but if they want to do New American, they should take some notes from Hudson House and Neighborhood Services and figure out the menu better. Because if you want to charge Neighborhood Services prices, you need to be bringing Neighborhood Services level dishes to the table. read more
