I came here during a busy Sunday morning brunch for the first time. I had seen a sign for BH near 290 once before, but happened to be spending some time in the Sugarland area, and thought I'd drop in. The hostess were super sweet and allowed us to pick wherever we'd like to seat and said they'd follow us with menus. The restaurant interior has a really cute fireplace overlooking booths that look like couches- perfect for a cozy brunch atmosphere. There's also a full bar, and an outside patio with a fireplace as well. Perfect spot for bikers to come and grab a couple of beers in a relaxed yet upbeat atmosphere. Our server had a very thick accent which made it very hard to understand anything she was saying, and she also was very distant throughout the course of the meal- nothing really made us feel welcome or at home here, but we understood that it was a busy Sunday morning, so we let it go. For food, we ordered the house burger and the Buffalo Chicken Meatballs. The house burger was super bland, with no seasoning, and the meat just tasted like cardboard. The Buffalo Chicken Meatballs were to die for. I would come back for this and this alone. While I was devouring my Buffalo Chicken Meatballs, I happened to be watching the bartenders and how they prepared the different drinks. One, they weren't using gloves, which sort of bothered me, but it didn't really gross me out until one of the bartenders walked to the beer cooler in the far corner of the room, retrieved a jar of olives, brought it back to the bar, and began opening it without washing his hands...then: he literally stuck his entire hand and part of his wrist down into the jar and scooped up a handful of olives and put them in a separate container which is used to prepare drinks later. That's SO gross. We told a manager, Tara, who seemed emphatic and offered her apologies. She also returned later to let us know that she had corrected the issue with the bartender and that it would never happen again. We also told her about the burger and she sort of shrugged and said, "That's just how our burgers are. Next time, try one of our more expensive burgers-like the bison burger and maybe you'll enjoy that one." Wow. Thanks. When we were leaving, the bartender gave us the dirtiest look which really set the tone for writing this review because it was our last impression. Being that the restaurant was so busy, I'd really like to know how the bartender knew who complained on him. We were clear across the room, and made no scenes when talking to Tara. So if behind the kitchen doors, management is disrespecting the guests by pointing us out to the wrongdoing and possibly disgruntled employee, then lovely. I won't be coming back to this location. If I want my Buffalo Chicken Meatballs, I'll try out the 290 location next time. read more

Welcome to the one and done restaurant. Not even an "A" for effort. The Kobe burger is described as having spring mix on a bun not on the side soggy and cold. The burger essentially had no flavor and the tots were too greasy. The beer selection is sad for a tavern and both of our glasses were dirty. The servers were slow and not very interested in us. Bar food doesn't have to be bad. This is bad. We won't be back. read more

We have been to several brick houses in the Houston area with our two medium sized dogs (corgis) without issue, but was turned away from this establishment. I walked into a waitress chewing on her nails and sitting at a table who got up and walked away instead of greeting me. I told the hostess that we had our dogs and would like to sit in the patio. As she went to seat us the other waitress informed us no dogs were allowed. The sweet hostess went to ask the manager and confirmed no dogs were allowed so we left. read more

Food was decent and so was the service. What wasn't good was my credit card number being stolen and having $500 in charges racked up on it. The manager had the "what do you want me to do about it attitude" and really didn't offer much help until I escalated. After being called back he explained "Someone with a scanner stole your card probably in the parking lot." Really? Being in the technology industry I find it hard to believe someone with a scanner picked my card out of the 20+ people sitting on the patio and picked one of my cards out of the three I had in my wallet. I also find it hard to believe that the charge for my dinner went through the same exact time as the stolen charge. I say stay away from this place. They need to get with the 21st century and have the wait staff bring a credit device to the table. Thumbs down for sure. read more

We decided to stop in here for a late dinner after a long day. I started us off with a deviled eggs appetizer which sounded so good on the menu. Had bacon in it.....and we all know bacon makes everything better. Nobody wanted any so I ended up eating these alone. They were OK but nowhere as good as my wife's deviled eggs. So much for bacon. I ordered off the menu at the suggestion of the waitress. She informed that the ribs are only cooked on certain nights so you have to ask about them. Once again it sounded real good when the waitress described slow cooked St. Louis style ribs with a bourbon BBQ sauce. She was on point about the sauce it was really good and the saving grace for some really tender fall off the bone ribs which lacked in flavor beyond the sauce. My youngest son had a burger which came out well done after he requested medium rare which started the downhill for him. The bottom bun was soaked with water because the lettuce was soaking wet. My wife and sis-n-law had the pork chop which they said were good on top but also lacked any flavor beyond that. We ordered fish and chips to go for my eldest son who wasn't with us. By the time he got home from work he was just happy for a meal and said it was good. LOL! We were all full so we skipped desert. Our libations, for the adults of course, were good. Overall this place is OK to me. read more

Great place for happy hour with an awesome patio bar! It was quite hot out the day that I went but at least they have a few fans blowing. Food was great, regular bar food but oh my they have a great plate of charcuterie! I'm a big fan so that was a must & it did not disappoint. And I love it when a bar has pickle back shots! I usually prefer Vodka but they have Jameson + pickle back.. absolutely delish. It's just a nice place to relax and have a few drinks. Nothing fancy. I like. read more

Great new neighborhood bar and grill! If you like good food, patio dining, and lively atmosphere, this place is for you. Soon after BHT opened, we wrote it off as a college kids hangout because every time we passed by, all you could see were dudes in shorts and baseball caps. Not exactly our crowd, so we kept it moving. Curiosity finally won us over though, and we decided to give it a try during happy hour on a Friday. Man oh man, appetizers! We went with duck wings (who offers those?), zucchini fries, calamari, and pretzels. The Good: (1) The food was definitely cooked in house. These were not the usual microwaved apps you usually find in these places. (I don't think Tyson sells duck wings anyway.) It came out piping hot, nicely seasoned, and oh so good! That brings us to (2) the food tasted great! The calamari had the right texture (not mushy or rubbery), the zucchini fries were curly and amazingly seasoned, the pretzel was plump and full of doughy goodness, and shucky ducky quack quack those wings! They were drenched in a really good BBQ sauce so unfortunately I still don't know how a duck's wings taste. (3) The patio was packed and lively. Lots of different kinds of folks, all yakin', laughin', and nom-nomin'. (4) Our server was attentive yet not overbearing. The Bad: We should not have ordered 4 apps, so our fault. The portions are huge, so take it easy! So yea, there's no bad. We returned the very next week during brunch on a Saturday. We ordered off the dinner menu (fried chicken sandwich and fish and chips). Both were very good, but we decided happy hour is probably the best time to come because although the food was good, it didn't compare to the appetizers. It's their first week open and I've been twice already both times the Service was great. Drinks are awesome Moscow mule and their good Bloody Mary are fabulous! Portion size for burgers were in the small side but there brick house wedge salad was way more than I expected. Great atmosphere comfy couches to sit and chat on and a great patio with a fit pit. We asked to sit in front of the fireplace and the host (addy) immediately went to clean a table for us. Once we sat down we were promptly greeted by Ashley, who was very knowledgeable and suggested several drinks and appetizers. We ordered the drinks she suggested and they were amazing! The mahi mahi was so delicious and my wife enjoyed her chicken and waffles. Ashley put stickers on our check and really made us feel important. We will be back! read more

You've got to be kidding. We came here to enjoy a glass of wine and a pint of beer and watch the Astros game. First it took 5 minutes trying to decide which table was suitable for two people to sit and watch the game. I'm certain this is not an unusual request, and it wasn't that crowded. The the hostess just sort of pointed and told which table we should sit it once it was bused. When they sat us down they forgot to bring us menus they came back later to take the drink order, they brought the wine carafe but no glass. She never game back with the glass. Another waitress said, I'm so sorry, let me get you a glass, I'll take care of it right away. Then she served a large drink order to another table and then started to bus a second table. "Right away" must mean something different here. After asking 2 different waitstaff, I got up myself, got two menus, and a glass from the bartender. It'll be a nice place to eat if they ever hire some help. read more

I have to say I was disappointed in my visit to Brick House today. The service was friendly, however, 2 out of 4 of us didn't get silverware or napkins. Only 2 out of 4 of us got a refill. The food on the other hand... I ordered the southern fried chicken eggs Benedict. Yucky! The fried chicken was super salty (and when I say that it's a big deal because I like salty) and the poached eggs were way overdone. It was disappointing because it sounded so good! Then we also got the Kobe burger and requested it to be medium... It too was overcooked. The things is I've been to a couple of BH's before and loved the food. So this has been disappointing. I was so excited to get one in the area but eh...now it's probably a place I would only go to for drinks. Hopefully they get it together. It has the potential to do so well out here but if they keep serving salty, overcooked food with no refills in site they won't last long. I'll give it another shot in about 3 months. A little disappointed I literally drove around 45 min to get to this location so I could take pictures with a UFC fighter but got turned away! I got here at 7pm and the meet and greet was supposed to end at 7:30pm but the manager (I guess) wasn't letting no one in. It sucks because I'm sure there's a lot of fans that will still stay here and eat just like I am but what a waste. Margarita wasn't that good. And Philly cheesesteak was not bad. read more

Came in Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar, ordered a beer from there decently sized beer list and duck wings to try out. The bartender, who said her name was something alongside of Kk, did not pay attention well to customers though. She seemed pretty busy on her phone to pay much attention to me. As I waited for my food, I saw her making what looks like a michelada for a server, in which the server brought it back because there was ice in the drink. The bartender then proceeded to yell at the server in front of us all after the server asked for a replacement and told her it did not usually come with ice, which was very unprofessional. My duck wings finally came, and although were a messy eat, I would give it a star for the great taste. Overall, the food was great, but the service and experience was horrible. I suggest they train the bartender to pay attention to the customers better. read more

I loved the seating area by the fireplace, very comfy and cozy. Hubby loved that they had games playing on the flat screens. The service was good, our guy Ben was friendly and enthusiastic, and he loved saying "I gotcha!" Or "you got it!". He brought the baby some fruits to munch on, and made sure we all had what we needed. To be honest the food was just ok, 3 stars, but the ambiance and service made up the extra star. My shrimp and chips were deeply fried, though the portion was large, it was a bit too salty and greasy for my taste. It did come with a side of apple/cucumber salad. Went for dinner and was sat quickly; however, we waited 10mins (watched the clock) and no one came to greet us, not even the several servers that were walking around, laughing and chatting with each other. They could have at least said, someone will be with you shortly. They were not busy so no excuse we were left there invisible. Just sad customer service has gotten that poor. Not sure how people give this place a bad review Went here for lunch on a Monday. Service was great, food was fantastic, and the case speciality beer (Elissa IPA) was on point. The Greek meatballs and Tavern wings were what we ordered, along with the meat board appetizer. From start to finish it was a fantastic meal, and a fun environment. I'm only rating 3 stars and not 2 because of our server Shelby she was amazing and gave excellent service definitely changed how I felt about the experience however the bartender Brady was not. I come here a lot and I remember the first time he served me at the bar he was just rude and not very welcoming to me and my friend. This time I was going to the bathroom when I heard him complaining about me to another server all because I asked him to fix my drink since it didn't taste right. Very unprofessional.
