I came for lunch then my son came the same day for dinner. This review is a combination of both. Three location is nice but the parking is not the best. It's in a strip mall and the parking lot fills quickly. The hostess greeted me right as I walked in. Our was very loud because a game was on. When my son came later, he said it was loud because of the music. We all found ourselves shouting to communicate at times. However it is a sports bar so that's just what it is. The servers were very nice and friendly. They did a great job covering a lot of the tables at once. The drinks are OK. My margarita was horrible but I drank it. My second drink was a lemon deep eddy and it was really good. The wings were absolutely delicious. My son agreed. He ordered lemon garlic pepper and I had the Thai chili. Pizza was just ok and their sandwiches weren't good. Oh, and my son said the bathroom was disgusting. I didn't check the female bathroom. Good local joint. The great thing is that the kitchen stays open late. I had the toasted ravioli w/ marinara sauce as well as got some of the Harpo Hot sauce to dip the ravioli in. Yummy. I finally tried this place, and I'm so glad I did! I had always thought it was just a bar, but it turns out they have an amazing menu with great food. As someone who's spent years in the restaurant world, I hate leaving bad reviews. But sometimes an experience is so spectacularly off that it deserves to be documented -- if only as a public service announcement. We stopped by Harpo's in Chesterfield around 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2025. The host told us to sit anywhere, which we did. Menus arrived quickly, drinks followed, and for about ten minutes, we thought we were in for a nice birthday lunch. Ah, optimism -- what a concept. Our server (Alexis, per the receipt) never introduced herself but handled the first round fine. Then she vanished like a magician's final act. It wasn't even busy -- maybe half a dozen tables inside, a few people at the bar, and a lively patio. Appetizers arrived, then our entrees trickled out in random order like contestants on a reality show. My grilled chicken salad came with dressing on the side -- despite my polite request for the kitchen to toss it. A bold interpretation of "tossed," I'll admit. My mother-in-law ordered a turkey burger (not realizing there wasn't one on the menu) and received what was unmistakably a turkey sandwich. When we asked if it was a mistake, an employee confidently replied, "Yes, that's a turkey burger." I've seen gaslighting before, but that was a new one. When Alexis reappeared, we mentioned the mix-up. Her response? "Well, we don't have a turkey burger, so I thought that's what you wanted." Right -- because nothing says "burger" like sliced deli meat on a baguette. Meanwhile, drinks were empty, plates were full (because nobody was eating), and enthusiasm levels were subterranean. My mother-in-law finally gestured to her uneaten sandwich and said, "This was terrible." Alexis, unfazed, replied, "Okay," and walked off like a customer service robot in sleep mode. Moments later, she joined a coworker at the bar and visibly mocked the comment. Shameful. When it came time to pay, everything was charged in full -- no problem there. We weren't looking for freebies, just a little acknowledgment that things had gone sideways. None came. On my way to the restroom before leaving, I spotted Alexis sitting in a side room, living her best life and chatting on her phone. She had someone else process our payment. Still, we left over a 20% tip -- for... someone? At this point, I'm not sure if the problem is lack of training, lack of management, or just a deep, existential apathy that's settled over the place. Whatever it is, it's contagious. Moral of the story: If Harpo's wants to keep guests coming back, someone needs to start caring -- whether it's the servers or the managers. Because right now, the vibe is less "neighborhood hangout" and more "we've all emotionally clocked out." We won't be back, but sincerely hope someone turns the lights back on here soon. read more

We drove a bit of a distance to go to "The Mizzou Bar" to watch a Mizzou game while we ate dinner. 5 minutes before game time, we had to ask the server to play the Mizzou game-- she said, "Oh Mizzou is playing? What time is the game on?" She came back to the table to let us know that the manager said they would not be changing the TV's in the main dining room to Mizzou because NFL football games were playing, but we could move to a table in the bar (where one tiny TV) was playing the Mizzou game we could see. What?! Make it make sense. Sadly we will not be returning to the Mizzou Bar unless they plan to show the Mizzou games on one of their major TV's. read more

I haven't been to this place in at least a year because the service was always slow, no matter how many people were in the place and the food is not super great. I came back to give it another try and it was a bit better. I sat outside with my mom and the patio was about half full and the inside only had a handful of tables. Right away our waitress came up and took our drink orders. It took quiet some time to get our drinks after that but no biggie it was a nice day. After getting our drinks we didn't see our waitress for a long time to order food. The other waitress outside we saw come out a bunch. After ordering our meal we didn't see our waitress again til our food came out. This wasn't a big deal since we didn't need anything. Our waitress was very friendly and got us everything we asked for. The food was good. I got the hummus Maximus and the pita was really good and so was the hummus. I also got a side Caesar salad. That was very good but it was just a basic Caesar salad. My mom got the spring garden salad and she said it was very good. The strawberries looked very fresh! Overall, I have always thought Harpos has a great patio and is in a great location. The staff is always friendly but the service is slow no matter how many people are in the place. Woohoo, re-opened for dine-in and patio service! We stopped by to celebrate a friend's birthday, and had lunch ~1:30p - amazingly the patio was 75% full, people very excited to be OUT of the house!! Overall, my rating is a solid 3.5 reflecting quality food options, friendly and efficient staff service, and nice patio atmosphere! Table distancing was in place, and servers were careful to manage food and drinks service by individual table - so no mixing or serving multiple table orders at one time, but also I didn't observe servers wearing protective wear. So I'd recommend (if you have ANY concerns) to bring your own mask, gloves (to read menus) and some hand sanitizer for you and your friends during a meal visit. Average cost is $10-15pp. Yay, they had FULL menu offerings! Our lunch included Potato skins, build your own burger, Reuben sandwich and blackened Grouper sandwich. All foods were served hot, sandwiches very tasty and I liked their waffle sweet potato fries better than regular fries. If you have plenty of time and low-ish expectations, this is the place for a burger and a beer. Everything is, at best, average. Location is great. There's plenty of parking and there's a good amount of seating indoors and a patio. The menu isn't bad - basic bar type food. The food is very average. Nothing bad, but nothing great. The service is pretty bad and I don't think they care. The servers are typically younger women. Most of them are nice enough. Bartenders seem to take their time making drinks. Last time we were there, there weren't many customers there and it still took a long time to get a drink. Of course, when we arrived and were waiting to be seated, the bartender and three other staff members were standing at the far end of the bar chatting. They saw us, and another couple that came in, and just kept talking to each other. Unfortunately, this is not unusual. It can take a while for a server to take your order. Then there's the long wait for food. Dogs are welcome on the patio. I know - some people love to take their dogs everywhere. I, on the other hand, don't enjoy it. I've been here when there were a dozen dogs on the patio and it's not enjoyable. Dogs barking, whining, relieving themselves near where I'm eating - not okay. I do have a dog, and like dogs, just not at restaurants. We were there one night with an elderly relative. We were dining inside because it was too cool outside. The music was so loud at 5-5:30 (elder dinner time), that we could barely hear each other speak. I get loud music in a place like this, but that seemed early! There were a number of people there for happy hour, but even they were leaning across tables to hear each other. Will I go back? Probably.
