Luv bridal recommended this place for my wedding dress alterations and they were available. It was pricey but the work they needed to do made sense. I had to get the front of my dress hemmed, I had to also let the dress out because it was too tight at the top and then we also got the dress bustled and cut some fabric on the arms. I took it in and I came back 5 weeks later and the dress was perfect I could tell it was hemmed because I didn't need to kick the dress out to walk. I didn't feel like I was going to trip over my dress. And the dress felt so much comfortable because it didn't feel so tight anymore. I could sit comfortably, walked and danced around and felt good in my dress. I can't wait to wear it in 3 weeks !

Located in Orange off of Tustin Ave is Bridal Alterations by Alice I was referred by Mariposa Boutique. Scheduling an appointment was easy! You can call or text Mary and she will confirm and explain the bridal fitting process. Due to Covid Mary is currently not meeting with customers, she explains this but has a team that has been working for her for over 20 plus years. I felt confident. First Bridal fitting--- LITERALLY 10 minutes. The woman I believe Sang was so confident in her work and truly knew what she was doing that I only needed 10 minutes. I felt a little uneasy at how fast she was but she seemed VERY knowledgeable. I had a hem, dress taken in, straps taken up, and cups put into my dress all for the whopping price of $980, OUCH! I honestly did not want to pay this exorbitant amount but my mom said she felt they seemed diligent, knowledgeable and efficient. On the day I was suppose to do my final fitting and take home my dress-- 5 days before my wedding, I get a call(two hours before) from Mary that my dress is not ready and to come in the next day. Okay a bit panicked since my wedding is fast approaching. I show up the next day and I try on the dress, straps uneven and they say to come back in two hours. I come back and its done. I think just feeling so overwhelmed and time crunch that I would have taken anything lol. However, when I look at my photos from my wedding day my wedding dress still looks a bit loose up top and I truly wish I had more taken in. I wish I was more vocal about it since I paid so much! Otherwise, the staff is friendly which is a huge plus. Tip== they prefer cash

Annie was incredible at helping me alter my beautiful wedding dress. I shortened, added thicker straps, adjusted the bodice, and made a custom veil. She had great communication and reasonable pricing.

Before and after, Annie did such an amazing job!! So worth it, thank you!!

Annie did so great, it was a little pricey it was so worth it, and because of my size there was a lot of alterations to be done to it to fit me in all the right places! Fits like a glove now thank you Annie!

My wedding dress turned out beautiful! Annie was great and very friendly! Luv bridal referred me to Bridal Alterations by Alice, the dress was ordered 2 sizes too larger and Annie made it work and kept the integrity of the dress!

I was referred by Luv Bridal to come here and to ask for Mary. Mary was amazing to work with. She has been working with bridal gowns for years and is very knowledgeable. However, during covid my wedding date was postponed and I had to wait another year to get married. A year later, I was able to make an appointment online. I was told by the other employees that mary wasn't working in the store at the time due to covid precautions but the other employees were great. I only had one more alteration before my big day and they did a great job! I was driving all the way from Santa Clarita. I was very happy with how my dress turned out.

This is a long overdue review! I first reached out to The Golden Stitch on Yelp in October 2025. I…read morewas starting to plan my baby shower and had a crazy idea. I wanted guests to design individual quilt squares at the shower and have them sewn together afterwards. The idea originally came up online and suggested having people use fabric markers or puffy paint. Since I have a cricut, I immediately thought the idea would work well with HTV decals. However, I quickly realized cutting and weeding enough decals was going to be a nightmare, and they were unlikely to hold up well over time. This was when I turned to Yelp. I started searching for anywhere that did custom designs on clothing, thinking this would be the best lead. The Golden Stitch came up, and I sent the same message I was sending a bunch of other businesses. Very quickly, I got a response from Nicole. At that point, I wasn't sure we would be using her services. She was still incredibly helpful in giving advice on other items involved in the project, specifically things to look for when choosing fabric. Much to my surprise, she let me know she had done HTV decals for onesies for her friend's baby shower! I ended up going down in person to see samples of the onesies and discuss more details about how to make this idea come to life. She was incredibly knowledgable and very transparent about the pitfalls of some things I suggested and pricing of what I was looking for. By the time I left, I knew what to buy for fabric and what kind of art could and couldn't be printed at the price I could afford. Unfortunately, it did take me a while to find some art packages on Etsy to purchase and I was slow to come back and send her what I wanted. Nicole was incredibly understanding and still did her best to accommodate me and make sure I had the decals in time for the baby shower. She even went through and sized each piece of artwork to fit well on the square size we were using. Despite the time crunch I created, she got the sheets of HTV decals to me before the baby shower. My mother in law, my husband and I spent time sitting together and cutting them apart. Nicole even explained to me how to use my cricut heat press to secure the decals at the shower. After the shower, she was able to put them through her industrial press to help ensure they last along time. When I came back to ask her to press the squares, we discussed how to identify who did what square. This was something I hadn't considered when people were designing their squares. At this point, I been messaging and working with Nicole for several months and I now had a newborn at home. She was super helpful in suggesting how to add initials and/or names to the squares. I was overwhelmed and not giving much direction. Nicole was, again, so quick to get them pressed and add names/initials. What really made it special was the time she and her fiancé took to place the names and initials creatively. She also helped us design the center square with our son's full name, date of birth, and birth stats. My mom has been sewing the squares and the quilt is now almost completed. This keepsake would have been just a sad-could-have-been memory without Nicole. Now our son will have a custom quilt from everyone who came to celebrate him at the baby shower. I'm so grateful for Nicole's wonderful services, but also her compassion and patience. This project is so special to our little family and wouldn't have been possible without her.

I probably spent less than 5 minutes total on both of my visits and got exactly what I was asking for. It was as simple as walking up, tell them what you want, they'll ask for a specified date when you want the request completed, and then you just come back. I spoke to Mike initially about getting the patch removed and he was honest about it potentially leaving a mark where the patch was initially sewn on, which I didn't mind. The turnaround rate for the services was approximately 5 days, though I did say it was a no rush service. Not sure if it would have been more expensive had I not said that. Either way, satisfied with how both requests turned out. It was around $12 for removal and $14 for sewing on.

Only thing I didn't like was they told me it would take a week. Now usually this wouldn't bug me since I didn't need the shorts right away but if it's something I need urgently, then I'm not sure if they would call me in time when it's actually done like they didn't before. It was my first time so I will see how the second time goes when I need another alteration. For the shorts they fixed, they look great like no alterations were done.

I had a one-of-a-kind jersey that I wanted turned into a dress because it was huge. I showed the man a video of exactly what I wanted him to do with this jersey and how to turn it into a dress. All he had to do was cut the sleeves off so up the side and then reattach the sleeve. When I came in to pick it up, the sleeves were not cut, they're two different sizes, the neckline wasn't cut to size and I looked like the background dancers in the goofy movie with the broad shoulders. There's so much bunching in the top since I have smaller breast and I pointed that out on Monday and he just kept repeating "I cut where I pin" anyone can do that. So since he was only going to cut what he pins, which was not our initial discussion, I took the time to explain. Show him the video again. I made it a point to make sure that he was going to be able to do this the way that I wanted before dropping it off because I would've spent more time looking for places that were capable of following instructions. Thankfully, I recorded our conversation and reported it to the Better Business Bureau. They just kept repeating the same sentence over and over again to the point where I started yelling over them and they started calling me crazy because I didn't want them to "fix anything" and I wanted a refund. Still have a destroyed unwearable jersey and no refund.

In the past, when items were lost or damaged, they handled the situation professionally and took responsibility. Unfortunately, that level of customer service appears to be gone. We recently had a brand new custom sport coat cleaned -- a very expensive jacket specially made for my 6'6" husband. He wore it only a few times on vacation, came home, took it off, and I immediately sent it to Kona for cleaning. When it was returned, there was a noticeable burn mark on the shoulder/deltoid area along with a streak running from the top of the shoulder, exactly like damage caused by an iron that was too hot. When I called, they immediately picked the jacket back up, which initially made me believe they intended to resolve the issue fairly. However, after keeping it for five days, Carlos called and stated that he "asked the production staff" and because they claimed they didn't do it, Kona would not reimburse us. The conversation was incredibly disappointing. Carlos was rude, dismissive, and openly implied he did not believe us. He stated there was no one else we could speak to. After spending thousands of dollars with this business over the years, being treated this way over a clearly damaged item was shocking. To make matters worse, their customer service system is a mess. No one answers the main customer service number, and when calling individual stores, the employees often seem confused, difficult to understand, or act as though they have no idea what you're talking about. During this process alone, this happened to me at least five separate times. In one instance, I was placed on hold and never helped -- I finally hung up myself after waiting 17 minutes. The quality of service at Kona has slowly declined over time, but this experience confirmed that customer loyalty and accountability no longer matter to them. I would absolutely not recommend using their services, especially for high-end or custom clothing.
