Great food and drinks. My boyfriend and I stopped in on a rainy Monday for the burger special and happy hour. We were greeted promptly by the kind bar tender who took time to explain all the cocktails I was unfamiliar with. I got the Moscow Mule, it was great and refreshing. My boyfriend had the $2 All Day IPA on special. We ordered the Elotes, as an app and burgers for dinner. Everything was great. The corn was sweet and roasted perfectly. The creme was cool and refreshing in contrast to the slightly spicy seasoning. The burger was cooked perfectly to medium rare, as ordered. The bun was just the right density and texture. The fries were thick cut and seasoned well. The only complaint was the ketchup. I am completely just being nit-picky but it just didn't have a great flavor or texture. All in all I really enjoyed the experience and look forward to trying the fall menu which came out today. The pappardelle look amazing. read more

Paid for Marcona almonds... and got peanuts. Paid for manchego cheese fries and got subpar fries. Paid for burger with portobello mushrooms, got one mushroom. Could've used some more burger patty with my oversized bun. Uncomfortable seating (sit way to high above the table, hardly any cushion, awkward). Not a spectacular experience for the price either. Not surprised to see this place get so many great reviews since there hasn't been anything like it in DeWitt before, but maybe that is because many people have not been to the same restaurants that this place tries to emulate. I ordered take out for 2 adults at the height of the pandemic. We try to eat local a few nights a week to support our local restaurants. When we called to place our order it was 7:22 and BSS closed at 8:00. The guy taking my order very rudely asked if I would be there before 8 to get my food because they would be closed. When I said yes, I live just down the street, I got a huge sigh and asked what we wanted. When I went to pick it up at 7:45 they all acted like I was majorly putting them out and no one greeted me. But they gladly took my money. I have worked restaurants and know it's annoying when people order last minute, but this wasn't the case. Also, YOU'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC! You would think they would want the business. To top it all off, the food was bland and looked thrown together. Not impressed given how overpriced their items and wine are. Came for a date night after hearing good things from friends and I have to say they were right, I can't wait to come back! First off, I really wanted the egg white cocktail and was bummed when I realized it was now off the menu, BUT Devin still offered to have one made and used his own recipe (which was so good! put that on the menu!) Second, the food is delicious, everything we had (avocado tostada, bruschetta, grilled shrimp, burger) It came perfectly timed and so perfectly cooked. The bruschetta was amazing and they even gave me a few more pieces of bread to finish the burrata :) Third, the service overall was outstanding. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in the Lansing area. My husband and I are big wine people and bridge street has the best wine list in Michigan. Very disappointed...when we arrived we were met with "do you have reservations?" Um no..."well guess we shall seat you but you will be the last walk in. It's to hot in here and we want to close early." I look around to a half filled restaurant and wonder why they have their door open if they don't want customers. We were then told the air is broke and won't be fixed until next week. OK I understand that but why stay open or seat people if you don't plan on staying open? Well takes 5 minutes to seat us at a table 10 feet from the door. Then another 10 to bring us water which is room temperature...no ice in a building that is approximately 85 degrees. A restaurant with no ice? Glass is dirty looking. Other customers arrive and they get the same treatment but they have reservations. Another 5 minutes to see if we want drinks or food. Menu is not very deep and does not look appealing. Employees look all sweaty and not in a hurry to serve anyone. The place just looks dirty and not very well kept. We leave not wanting a sweaty cook making our meal. We won't be going back.... read more

Cons; Because it's tiny, it could fill up fast leaving you on the outside looking in. Sometimes you just sort of stumble on a hidden gem. That is Bridge Street Social. In this day and age of indifferent service, this place stands out with people who truly "get it." Dined here for the first time on our way back to GR from Canada. Robert was an informed and passionate bartender/wait staff. His recommendation of the Brussel sprouts was delicious and spot on. So flavorful. Burger was tasty and cauliflower tacos were great as well. The caso sauce was not to my liking, but they were extremely accommodating to assure I was satisfied. I'm very disappointed with the wait staff. I never have felt so small in my life. I have food allergies ; I asked our waiter for some advice on what to order. His response was nonchalant. I wasn't comfortable ordering on my own and he was no help, so I asked for the chef. He rolled his eyes right in front of me. The chef was great. When he came around for dessert I asked what they had. He said "nothing for you" blew through what they had and walked away. Food was real good, loved it. I visited Bridge Street Social for the first time on April 27th, although my review is several months later that speaks to the lasting impression that this wonderful dining establishment impressed upon me. I remember hearing about Bridge Street when they first open and I just never had time to get out there. Well, I finally did and I have been back since my first visit several times. Let me start by talking about Joe, he is amazing. He tends the bar and is a sommelier. His disposition is quite lovely and he is very attentive and provides a great first point of contact for the restaurant. The second time I went in he remembered me immediately and I was very happy to feel like an appreciated customer instead of just another face in the crowd. Now to the food and service!!! SUPERB is a great word to describe the elevated food concepts at this restaurant and amazing best describes the service. It is very much so formal dining presentation with the comfort of a local restaurant. I enjoyed every single thing about them. They even impressed my friend visiting from DC who is very picky. Our party of four enjoyed Bridge Street Social a week ago. Our sommelier/waiter, Devin, did an excellent job of helping us pick two bottles of wine for our meals. It was truly part of the dining experience to learn the background story of our wines and to successfully pair them with our entrees. We shared appetizers of roasted Brussels sprouts and hummus, entrees of braised short ribs, ricotta ravioli and a grilled pork chop. Everyone agreed their entree was excellent and I would rate the pork chop one of the best ones I've had. We finished with desserts that put the finishing touches to our meal. As a side note, I left my credit card at the restaurant and Christopher provided excellent service to see that it was returned to me. Thank goodness for BSS - in a town with (so far) fairly limited options beyond fast food chains, it's been great having them open and improving. Last night was my fourth time eating there, and I feel like I've had enough experiences now to write a review. It's very clear that the team there has high aspirations. From the cocktail menu to the specials, the concepts are well thought out, the flavors nicely balanced, and the scale of the menu is not overwhelming. It has taken them a while to get on their feet - the first time we visited, this summer, the only thing that was very good were the french fries. But when we took family from out of town in December, we had several dishes that could have been from good restaurants in Boston (our previous home), including lamb sausage over pea risotto and the always-delicious brussels sprouts. Service is always a highlight - we've been treated extremely well by all the people there, and that's one of the best things about small town restaurants like this. You feel very quickly like a part of the community. Drinks are also quite good - they have some unique twists on their cocktail menu, and the drinks are well executed. Consistency needs some work. For example - last night, the duck cuban sandwich was fantastic (which it hadn't been before), but the french fries were disappointing (and had been sublime for the past few visits). The flatbread, which is usually quite tasty, fell flat (hah!) as well. Overall, though - this is a great addition to DeWitt's dining scene, and it's fun to see them continue to improve and innovate. Utterly amazing service and food. They recently changed their menu and I had the duck ragu. All I can say is I wish that I could've eaten plate upon plate of the dish. My husband had the lamb shank and was equally pleased. The service was unparalleled. The entire staff was super friendly and eager to offer suggestions. Man nate and I came here and I got the morel and gnocchi meal which seems reasonable but man no taste and the mushrooms certainly were not washed so picture poor heywood eating a mushroom full of dirt and grit. It's clear the cooks here r in over their head everyone else at my table had a bland meal and I am sorry I told the waiter it was terrible ... too bad I mean good concept and all but a simple dish was not good u cznt imagine NE thing else can be cooked decently if you can't get that right. The tamale that came with the pork chop was probably some of the best food I have ever had. I highly recommend Bridge Street Social but definitely sit at the bar. I can't say enough great things about this place! I have always had great meals, and a very enjoyable time. The bartenders are the best, and can really make you anything you can think of (or at least put their own twist on it)! I purchase my wine here as well, and I don't think many people know you can do that. I stop in for a bottle to-go and they always help me pick the best wine for the occasion, or just to enjoy at home with dinner. This place is local to me, but it's absolutely worth the trip if you're coming from out of town. I truly use to love and adore this establishment. They have wonderful food, and amazing tasting and looking cocktails. I would tell everyone I know to come check this place out. But for me if the service is bad I can't see past it. They have a handful of dedicated and passionate staff that love their jobs and do well but then there's always a rotten egg or two. I've seen a staff member walking around drunk, slurring her words, taking shots on the job, bad mouthing the business and its management to customers. Went on a Monday night to celebrate my wifes birthday and am I glad we did. Greeted by smiling friendly faces right away, really made us feel comfortable. Wife had a glass of wine she enjoyed, I had a tasty Michigan craft beer. Tough to choose just one appetizer (social plates), so we picked 2, fried brussel sprouts and scallop gratin. This small but outstanding restaurant is worth the out of the way location in Dewitt. The food was so good I would come back tomorrow! We ordered several of the half price burgers. They put so much excellence in the ingredients and presentation that I would have been delighted with them at the hefty full price of $14. I ordered the whitefish dinner, and again, the presentation and avocado sauce was amazing. I was expecting more flavor, but I did remove half of the jalapeños, so I would leave them on next time. My daughters ragu sausage pasta was INCREDIBLE! Packed with flavor. The extensive wine list was unreal, but for occasional wine drinkers like us, the daily specials were a treat to drink, and on the bill. We will be coming back soon. read more

I came here on a Friday night and we were seated right away at the small table by the window. It was a very drafty spot, but the warmth of the staff and the ambiance made up for it. Our food was delicious, from the Brussel sprouts and quesadilla small plates to the risotto and meatloaf entrees, and our service from Robert was nothing short of excellent. In my hurry (to return a rental car) I used a tax-based shortcut to estimate tip, not realizing Michigan had a lower tax rate, accidentally shortchanged the waiter with the tip---I want the restaurant to know I meant to leave a good one. And as a final remark, the feel of the restaurant did come close to those in NYC--albeit the wide open space and missing crowdedness. :) read more
