Came here on a whim for lunch and was not disappointed! They have on street parking and a nearby parking garage. The restaurant is in a huge old building but everything is updated within. We were greeted and seated right away. Our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout our time there. We started out with the zucchini fries and they were a fan favorite at our table. They were cooked just right and were served with ranch and marinara sauce. I ordered the Philly steak and cheese with fries for my entree. It was one of the best steak and cheese sandwiches that I've had. It had a nice crispy bite to it and seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend giving this place a try! read more

The owner helped us find some historical sites in Wheeling, the server said she is in love with the food at the Tavern, and gave us great service. VERY mediocre food, small portions that look like I ordered from a kids menu. Called in a pickup order where they didn't get my name right after multiple attempts at correction and also never asked me how i wanted my burger cooked. Very bad service I stood at the checkout counter for 5 minutes without being acknowledged by any of the 6 different employees who walked right past me. Dangerous sidewalk outside makes it tough to get in the restaurant. Would absolutely not go back. read more

Easy to make a phone reservation for our family of 10. The space was clearly labeled and reserved upon entry. Food was served quickly. Out of our group of ten, we had one who did not enjoy his meal (something in the sauce was rancid...but we did not speak up...I'm sure they would have handled it for us if we did). read more

What a great place! We had cocktails at the bar on 2/11/23 around 2:00pm. The service was great. The ambience was phenomenal. I love how the new owners kept the same aesthetic as the original bridge tavern. Everyone was so friendly. I am a Wheeling native who currently lives in Tulsa, Ok , here visiting my little brother. As a local it is so refreshing that someone is revitalizing a building and bringing good food, entertainment and a good atmosphere into it. I'm only giving 5 stars because that is the most I can give. I was driving past when I saw the cook, the young man with the blonde hair and beard, helping an elderly lady across the street. I decided to stop and have a quick bite to eat and lord was I pleased. I had the best fish sandwich I have ever had. This was arguably the best meal I've had since my grandmother passed away. It was one of those meals that tasted like it was made with love. I don't know the name of the gentleman working back in the kitchen but whatever they are paying him isn't enough. Mmm making me hungry again just writing this review 10/10 recommend stopping here if in town. read more

Have been here twice in the last month or two. Really nice little place. The menu isn't huge but everything on it is made well. I've enjoyed their Philly cheesesteak and their fish and chips. Have had two really good soups (which change daily) and overall have really enjoyed my experiences here. It's a nice small hangout and one I will most definitely return to. read more

Last month we rented out the Terminal Room for a memorial service luncheon. They made everything very easy during a stressful time. Everyone enjoyed the food- especially the Greek salad. The room was private, spacious for our party of 30, and very nicely set up. We were able to play music and a slideshow. There were some technical difficulties with the slideshow, (something was incompatible with my Mac laptop), but they were on top of it and made sure to get it working as soon as possible. Very grateful to them for making sure the luncheon ran so smoothly. read more

Reasonable prices, good staff. I had the pretzel with beer cheese for an appetizer, with the suspension smash burger. Everything was the perfect temperature. On Saturdays, they have live music similar to what you would find in the nearby Capitol Music Hall. Sometimes it's a little noisy, but most of the time its quieter than the big chain restaurants. Worth visiting while in Wheeling! The nearby parking garage is inexpensive at $3 for all day and my food and drinks came to about $20 with the appetizer. You can't find those prices in the bigger cities. read more

If you are in Wheeling and have not been here, WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE?!? Mike, the proprietor, is an absolute goldmine for info on the town. Joey, a bartender and musician bartends and will treat you like kinfolk. Coming from Columbus, I was not sure what to expect, but what a top notch location with great booze and awesome food, not to mention some amazing live music and stellar service. They even have VRBO rentals on the floors above, with a belvedere to boot - can't imagine the view over the river. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 is we thought it was closed because of the web site. We drive by and saw it was open and went in. We all had burgers and fries or onion rings and the burgers were fantastic! Our waitress was great and we couldn't have asked for better all around service! A bunch of us stopped there on our annual motorcycle trip. We took over the end of the bar and Joe took care of all us in a fun professional manner. Joe then took group pics for us. Make sure you allow time to walk the old 10th Street Bridge to Wheeling Island and to breath in the heritage and history of Wheeling. the food mildly good, the service wasn't to bad when we first walked in but the bartender was very rude after first being sat at the bar tried to tell us we couldn't sit there then as we already ordered and paid he tried to say we couldn't place an order to go after we already did with the other bartender who was really nice, the ambiance was nice kinda bland but wasn't to bad just all over would not eat there again and would not recommend to anyone. read more

Had to get out of town for the weekend and ended up in Wheeling WV to visit some old friends. Wet and rainy weekend and ended up at the Bridge for an early dinner. Very nice location across from the street from the historic Wheeling suspension bridge. The entire building where the restaurant is located is being renovated. Plenty of parking. The atmosphere in the Tavern was very inviting and comfortable. The staff provided great service and the food was excellent. Good menu. The drinks were all hand made - no mixes - and the bartender is not shy about experimenting a little. Came back for the brunch on Sunday. Food was again excellent and the warm muffins were awesome. Definitely will visit again the next time we are in town. read more

I've been to Wheeling on many occasions, and I've spotted the Bridge Tavern and Grill many times, but only on my last visit to Wheeling did I stop in for couple of beers. I'm so glad I did. This is obviously a local institution. It's a small place with a few tables and a dining counter in the front, and a little bar with tables in the back. The bar is a cozy place where locals drop by to have drinks and maybe watch the game on TV. Dim lighting, lots of old woodwork, you know the drill. My very handsome bartender, Doug, welcomed me in and made me feel at home. They have a full bar, a good beer selection, and maybe 5-6 beers on tap, including a very good IPA. I asked Doug if he'd let me watch "Jeopardy!" on TV, and he was very accommodating. I like this place a lot. Friendly people and good vibes. read more
