1st time I went to the college, I had 1 main question... What is the cost of the program. I was told at that time that they could not release that information until I officially enrolled. I was frustrated and walked out. 2nd time I interacted with the school: I called the number listed only to get a cell phone voicemail. I chose to hang up and not leave a message. I received a call back and the lady said "You called me, who is this?"... I explained that I was trying to reach Bridges Beauty College, she said she worked there and asked what she could do to help me. I told her that I was still looking into enrolling in cosmetology school and wanted to give them another shot. She told me to come by and meet with the campus director a couple days later. 3rd interaction with the school: I made it a point to leave work early to get there on time. I showed up for my meeting with the director about 10 min early only to find that the door was locked, so I waited. When someone came to open the doors, I was told that the director did had left for the day. Considering I had a standing appointment I was surprised that no one would call to notify me of the changes. I have been stupid enough to try to call 3 more times since then and always get a voicemail and now no return call. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Just go to another local competitor with a reputable name like Salon Success or Marinello's. read more

Worst place ever! Don't go here! Don't give them your money! It's horrible!! They are rude, inexperienced and very unprofessional. I wish that I could give them zero stars because that is how bad they are!!! read more

I have been attending bridges beauty college barber program for the last year. I started the program in April 2015, and I am now (April 2016) currently hours away from graduating. My experience at the school was very knowledgeable and eye-opening to the point that I am so confident that I will pass state board. This school has 100% passing at state board. I currently already have job offers from various barbershops. The staff and instructors has supported me throughout the whole process. I am very happy that I chose this college and I am thankful for the instructors, staff and the fellow students that have helped me on the way. read more

My education at Marinello was cut short due to them going under. I came here to inquire about completing the nail tech course with them. A shorter older Hispanic woman with an accent told me yes and showed me around. Everything seemed ok. The blonde nail tech instructor (I think her name is Vicky) was very nice and polite to me. I honestly was looking forward to being her student. I took their entrance exam (I'm assuming to see if I'm competent enough to understand their material, lol, passed) I paid their fees they requested, and submitted all the documents they asked for, including my grades from modules already completed and hours. A week goes by. Well, the day before I was due to start, the original Hispanic woman (sorry, didn't care to catch her name) calls me and tells me that they cannot have me start there bc I have too many hours completed with Marinello. Hahaha what? She goes on to sorry she didn't know I was enrolling for manicuring and didn't know how many hours I already had and explained that they have a very high success rate and do not want to risk sending me to state board. Mind you, I have submitted my passing grades, I've already attained one license in the beauty industry, this was to be my second, I took their entrance exam, but none of this mattered. When I went in to go pick up my money, that same woman that called gave me such a hassle about giving me my money back. It wasn't until I threatened to call the authorities did she, finally. So not only did this place insult my intelligence but they also wasted about a week and a half of my time that I could have began my studies elsewhere. This was such a horrible experience that it not only has promoted this bad review but if anyone ever asks me what school they should go to, my answer is, "Anywhere but Bridges." read more

GREAT PRICE for a really good job. I had a girl named Morgan do my hair and She did an excellent job. She was very nice. I don't normally take the time to do these reviews but thought it was worth the time. A a person should not only comment if they got a bad service but also when they have a Positive Comment. Went on a Friday morning in April and got a wolf cut, by Lilliana. Instructor came over at multiple times and would demonstrate on one side of my head so she could practice with the other. On the phone they said it'd take "30-40 min" but I think that's only if you're doing something simple. She had to learn the whole style, so it took maybe 1.5-2 hours. Was fine with me though. Students have specific weekdays they work (usually about 3 out of the 5), so if you like one you can try and become their regular while they're learning there. I've had long-time professionals who are unable to comprehend giving butch/masculine haircuts to people like me. Here, when I asked for changes at the end, the student and the instructor spent the time to get it closer to what I wanted. They didn't care whether I was queer or not, they just wanted to teach and learn how to make a good cut.

Things I liked: Your child will SWIM. I think my kids legs…read morefelt like rubber the first day because the philosophy here in both the intermediate and advanced is to just keep swimming! The pool is huge and the instructors send them back and forth over and over! Endurance seems to be the main philosophy. Some of the instructors are very engaging, overall everyone is pretty friendly! Things I noticed Safety is not a huge priority. There is no one on deck keeping an eye out for things the instructors may miss. The first day of class, and multiple after, my kids instructor walked into the building telling the other instructor of the other class to "keep an eye" to which he just kind of laughed and went back to the class he was teaching. Meanwhile she had 4 swimmers in the pool in other lanes behind and the instructor of the other class was faced away from them the entire time. That was my 7 year olds first or second day in the class. I had seen this sort of thing a lot, their instructor would chat with a students mom who was seated in the upper level, she'd face away from the students and just chat. By the 4th class I was ready to let the office know, but then the owner came outside, and held a conversation with the instructor the same way, her back away from the swimmers. My swimmer had been introduced to all of the strokes but I enrolled him to improve his form. He'd taken other classes where there was an emphasis on that. What I found is that there is very little instruction in the advanced class, the students are sent on back and forth several times but only upon request will they be critiqued or given better techniques. It is more like someone standing there somewhat keeping an eye on them and telling them to swim 400 or what not. At one point they had the owner, and at another, her husband and like I mentioned at another point, the other instructor in the other class, "take over" with instructions like "they're doing kickbaord" or "have them do bla" They are not very organized. First day of class the instructor was 5 minutes late. After that the advanced class had multiple people take over. The intermediate class had a lot more consistency, but one of the days Alexis (she did a great job) had to ask the owners husband where her secondary was. She came out a few minutes later , while the class was sorta on hold Things I'm not sure on: The young kids aren't taught to rest float. I've liked other places teach this, in the case that the child knows how to swim but doesn't have energy to get back to shore, or the edge of a pool for whatever reason. I once almost drowned as a kid in a pool right in the middle, I had slowly but surely run out of energy and not noticed til I couldn't keep my head above water. My brother pushed me to the edge. That being said, the rest float is a hard position to get into, so I kinda understand why they don't teach it‍ Overall, i think my kids are stronger swimmers and I'd possibly come back next summer since I trust my kids and I'm keeping an eye the entire time. Its $35 for 30 minutes (so 8 classes comes out to $280) Alexis was very encouraging in the intermediate class and each of the intermediate instructors really pushed the kids, and encouraged them, which I really appreciated:) oh and one more thing, I loved that at the intermediate level, there are two instructors to 4 students! That's a really nice ratio

Ms. Kelly and her staff at OTDS were the complete opposite. They never made us feel like his struggles were a burden. They knew crying in the first few days was totally normal and worked with us as a team to help him adjust. He did cry for the first few weeks, but the staff showed so much love, patience, and compassion. Ms. Kelly is also very communicative and the school has an app where parents can see pictures and videos from class. It's the sweetest thing to get updates of the kids doing art, story time, music, or just playing together. The rest of the year turned out amazing. OTDS is such a fun and nurturing environment. They do holiday celebrations, invite parents to events, have music time, outdoor play, sensory and pretend play, water play in the summer, and even a little garden. All of the teachers are wonderful with the kids, and you can tell Ms. Kelly is really careful about who she hires. Because of the growth and confidence our son gained at OTDS, he started public school this year and had a great first week. This is the best school ever. My life begin when I started school here. The best mentors and trainers in southern CA. Ms. Silva is a great beautiful Lady inside and out. She spent countless hours working with her students. I was one of those that she was dedicated to train to ensure my fullest potential. The staff as well are dedicated professionals. They treat every one with the utmost courteous respect. And OH... Ms. Ivet, Ms Silva's sister what a charm. She will always make you smile. I didn't think I could do it at first but Ms Silva supported me into competitions that resoluted in FIRST PRIZE!!! My words to Ms Silva and staff are "Thank you so very much for giving me a Life. Great school! I come from a different beauty college and the only thing I really have to say is that "Ms. A" Is the best of the best when it comes to instructors She Guaranteed Me My License for state board because she really drills you and pushes you to make it happen And she teaches you self discipline and to make it happen in this industry you need a lot of that, Again she's a great teacher and the fact that shes a instructor at this school now Is amazing and anybody who really wants their license should enroll, I learned a lot from her and she actually cares about the students unlike other instructors at different schools real talk, I highly recommend enrolling in this school she will make sure you get your license read more

I had an excellent experience at this school. It was MORE than worth it for me to drive 45miles to school everyday.(pregnant) I would not have received even half of the instruction elsewhere as I did here. The instructor knew the curriculum like the back of her hand. We,the students,had everything we needed. There was never a time that I wasn't learning new things. The school coordinated outside people in our field to do demonstrations - at NO EXTRA COST! Bridges Beauty School is one of the most beautiful, cleanest, and classiest places I have ever been and the people there are so nice and considerate and make you feel welcome and at home - everyone - greets you with a friendly hello and a beautiful smile. Everyone want you to look and feel your best and do the extra mile to do that. I have never been in a nicer more friendlier or cleaner place. This is written as a customer. My boyfriend's mother had went here and I loved her cut! Today I wanted a hair cut and she recommended this place. I decided to give it a shot. The cut was very cheap as far as price and I was completely satisfied. Yes, it takes a little longer than most places, but it is a learning facility and is to be expected. If you are an impatient person, go else where. The instructor was very close in case they needed her and kept a close eye on their work. I was beyond impressed with it. This school is awesome! I attended and recieved my barber license. The teacher Ms. Geo is a very experienced Cosmo/Barber that has the knowledge to help you succeed is passing State Board. I have personally seen all students before and after me receive there license as well. Shcool has a 100% passing rate. Dont let time slip away. Call them or go to the school. It can change your life. Only takes 9 months with dedication to accomplish your goals just be prepared to learn. read more

Best barber school to get a haircut. The barbers and staff are very professional and knowledgeable. I get my haircut here twice a month and get a bald skin fade. I usually ask for Jonathan, he's very skillful with the clippers and straight razor. My wife also comes to get her hair colored here and she loves it read more
