I went to Bridgets Steakhouse for the first time yesterday. I was a member of a group of 6 and we had a 5:30p reservation. We were seated immediately and the restaurant was clean. The servers were attentive yet weren't warm or friendly. Most of my group enjoyed their appetizers more than their meals. The calamari was a hit as the banana chips created an unexpected flavor component. Two had the aged steak that they rated as basic. Two ordered the branzino special which they stated lacked flavor. One ordered the braised short ribs which they said was just okay. I had the rack of lamb (only three pieces with is odd as most places give you four) which lacked flavor. The desserts were average. Great steakhouse in the cute little town of Ambler! We went for a special dinner on a Friday night. The place was packed and the vibe is casual, sophisticated, and energetic. The staff is upbeat, confident, and attentive. We started with the burrata. It was served with toasts and peppers. The balsamic on top was sweet and flavorful. Then we had Caesar salad and the wedge. Both were delicious, although the Caesar needed more dressing. We then had the filet cooked medium rare and the surf and turf for 2. Both were cooked to perfection. The surf and turf is a lot of food for 2. We struggled to finish. We ended with the bananas foster which is to die for. The server also brought out a cookie trio as we were celebrating a birthday. Our party of nine was celebrating two 80th birthdays. Obviously an important night out. We chose the Saturday after Thanksgiving. One of the biggest going out nights of the year. Bridget's was packed! It was loud and full of energy. Not a problem for their staff. We were seated and greeted properly. Our server, Dylan (I think), could not have been more cordial and patient through our entire meal. Among the nine of us, we ordered a large selection of menu items. I'd list but all were prepared and served perfectly. Everything from the appetizers through desserts exceeded expectations. Kudos to ownership for a very diverse wine list. Many of the high end chains offer one or two embarrassingly low priced wines and all others eclipsing $100. Bridgets wine list has offerings of all varieties and price points. We made reservations and arrived about half hour early. Parking was no problem and we enjoyed the drinks at the bar on the ground level. We were seated and the lower level dining area was a little congested but relaxing. The waitress and hostess were friendly and professional. We had a party of 4 and we got the filet and ribeye special. Every thing was cooked perfectly and the asparagus was excellent The ribeye had slightly more fat on it then desired but taste was very good. We had the banana fosters for desert and it is a must have. It was a great dining experience with our friends and worth the price. Definitely recommend it and look forward to returning back. Bridgets (no apostrophe) is an upscale restaurant and their menu goes beyond the usual steakhouse. Their menu features a wide range of steak and seafood, along with plenty of wine and cocktails. We ordered the burrata appetizer and calamari to start. The burrata was good, though the cheese was slightly colder than it should've been. The calamari was interesting: it was fresh and non-greasy but coated in an Asian dressing, with banana chips and granola. I took a bite and thought "Uhm, okay." For my main course, I went for the duck breast. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and served with grilled potatoes and arugula. The sauce was slightly Asian and the duck wasn't the most tender, but the dish was quite good. We ordered sides of carrots, green beans and asparagus. They were fine, though the carrots were undercooked. The desserts were excellent. We had creme brûlée and it was splendid. The service was friendly... but perhaps too friendly. Our waiter was pressuring us to order more and more. He insisted we get several courses and tried to upsell mineral water 6 times... even after we had finished eating! Been to this restaurant maybe a dozen times. It's really a 50/50 affair depending on menu choice. I've never had a bad piece of fish there or starters for that matter but the steaks are a roll of the dice. Had the best ribeye ever one time last Saturday night had a ribeye (dry aged special) that may have been 1/2 inch thick if I am being generous and mostly fat. Now I know fat equals flavor, but tossing 1/2 the meat by weight because it's inedible (not marbling ) is a sin. At least my hound ate well arriving home. Service was outstanding as usual both upstairs and in the dining room but a bit more QC for a "modern steakhouse" is expected. read more

This place is super fancy steakhouse (also is not the cheapest). They cook their steaks pretty good; we of course got medium rare and they were good about getting the outside seared and the inside nice and juicy. My friend and I got the chef special (New York strip), ribeye, and porter house. All 3 cuts were extremely delicious and the sauces that came on the side were very flavorful. The sides we got were also great: mac n cheese and asparagus. They were also delicious as well. The table that we got for 2 was super small for all the food that we ordered (granted... we ordered ungodly amount for 2 people) but, i wish i had bigger table. The bread was also very good as well; the butter was super fluffy too. I'm not the biggest fan of eating out for steaks cause i like to make it at home however, coming out to this place for a special occasion would be worth it. My husband and I had a great meal at Bridget's for our anniversary! We went all out. We got the mussels for the appetizer and they were delicious. I got the Caesar salad and hubby got the wedge salad. The Caesar salad was just okay. I got the NY strip steak and my husband got the ribeye steak, both medium rare. They steaks came with mashed potatoes and green beans. The potatoes were a little too salty but otherwise it was an amazing entreé. Unfortunately my NY Strip ($49) was a terrible cut of meat . I cut around the first half and decided to give up. It was chewy and filled with veins of fat and nerves . My husband and I decided to go on a date night and knew we wanted great food. So we planned a night at Bridgets Steakhouse. We were greeted at the door by Steven Bitt, the General Manager, who had our table ready with a window view of Ambler. Peter was our server and he made sure our drinks were full and appetizers came out hot and tasty. We got the crab cocktail which had zero filling. I am not a huge fan of crab meat lately but this was extremely fresh and delicious. The calamari was amazing as well. My husband loved the mixture of lightly breaded calamari, with granola, sprigs, dried banana and whatever the sauce was lightly drizzled over it. I got the Lamb Chops with Mushroom risotto and huge grilled asparagus. I could not even finish it was such a good portion. Had the worst experience ever and left embarrassed. This was supposed to be a nice dinner for my brother and sister in law visiting from out of town. The food and service was great until we were served our first course. We both ordered the filet. I ordered medium and my brother ordered medium rare. Both steaks came out well done. We decided to send the "medium rare" steak back after making a few cuts in it and deciding indeed it was well done. Mind you this steak was completely brown and had no "pink" in the middle. The "manager" came over to our table and indicated that there was nothing wrong with the steak and told us we would be charged for the overdone steak plus anything else we ordered. So if we ordered another steak to be cooked correctly they would bill us for 2 steaks...$90.00 After hearing this ridiculous request we asked to speak up the chains. who was actually the owner of the restaurant. Instead of rectifying the problem he kicked us out of his restaurant and denied any problems. All we wanted was a steak to be cooked correctly( especially when paying $42 for a steak). We have visited multiple steakhouses in Montgomery and Philadelphia county and never had a problem until now. We left mortified. This is no way to treat a paying guest on a $300+ bill. read more

Paella $15 Shrimp, Mussels, Chorizo, Garlic, Peppers &Tomatoes, Crispy Saffron Rice *This was absolutely delicious but I was completely shocked to find that it was in a tiny cast iron skillet (about the size of your palm) and the chorizo had a nice bite to it with a nice size mixture of shrimp and mussels Bridget's Caesar $8 Hearts of Romaine, Parmigiano Regiano, Homemade Caesar Dressing *This was very standard, nothing bad or good about this dish, enough to share with a few people Bronzino $34 Spinach and Asiago Stuffed Sachetti Pasta, Roasted Tomatoes in a Roasted Garlic Broth *Disappointing, the bronzino had crispy skin but it tasted extra fishy and texture was a little on the tough side, normally this fish melts in your mouth and is typically very mild in taste and the roasted garlic broth tasted like water. The sachetti pasta and roasted tomatoes were very plain and didn't go with the fish, the items did not complement each other well. In fact our table did not eat much of the fish. Rib Eye $36 16 Oz. Spice Rubbed Grilled Rib Eye, Horseradish Cream, Crispy Onion Straws, Potato du Jour & Garlic Green Beans *The rib eye was cooked perfectly and the spice rub really came through on it, the potato was a little too heavy for the dish and the green beans were an afterthought. The mousse was light and airy and I loved the chocolate tuille which added great texture. My favorite item on the entire menu was the side of mushrooms. They were the best mushrooms that I have ever had. Perfectly sautéed, earthy and herbaceous. I also loved the bottle of Burgess Cabernet we ordered, very smooth and went well with the rib eye.
